Harry fo sho, Draco I dont think is any good at dueling, havent seen him do it yet and Harry is way more experienced witht he Dark Arts anyhow. Go! Harry! Go!

Harry is far better at alot of things than Draco, but being conniving and slick is not one that Harry has over Draco. Draco would use dirty spells to get at Harry and he would also cheat, so if Harry was caught off guard Draco would nail him.

I voted for Draco because Draco could turn out to be a lot like Snape; keeping his emotions in check. Harry uses his emotions to fuel him on and that is not always the best way to win. One has to have a clear head.

After the fiasco at the end of HBP Draco is probably going to fight to win; not to show up another school bully.

Both boys are equally talented, and both boys are both pretty intelligent. Either way, it would be an interesting duel.

In a fair duel i think harry might win, but when has he ever displayed amazing power?

it would be about 50/50. harry has had alot more practice but Draco must have picked up some nasty curses on his travels.
however, if there was some cheating, which lets face it, he's duelling our Draco- its going to happen, Draco would win. hands down. and elbows on the floor...

Mmmm... I think that Harry would win because he knows more spells and stuff than Draco. But if Draco cheats... . I like Draco because I think that he is going to become good in the end, maybe sacrifice himself for Harry , but right now-he loses in a duel.

I think Harry could win. Harry has fought Voldemort many times, even though he did have a lot of luck, he has excaped death even more times, he has witnessed death, and he has dealt with many types of dark magic. He has seen it all. Well, not really, but as much as you can when you're seventeen years old. Draco? Nada. All he's done, except get a Dark Mark, became an unsuccessdul deatheater, and run from justice at the age of sixteen/seventeen, would be sit in cozy old Hogwarts and drawl on about how influencial his father is. Don't get me wrong, I like Draco as a character very much, I'm a fan. But compared to Harry, he's, like, a baby on the experience scale. And it doesn't help that he isn't all that great at school, either.

Draco. 100%. He would flatten Harry. He would play dirty and use clever little tricks and he'd use Unforgivable curses. Also he has Voldy behind him so he would win. People often under estimate Draco. He is quite powerful.

well,i think harry would win...let's face it he is far more better and far more experienced in duelling that draco.take the duel between harry and draco in hbp....draco lost forgetting to protect himself...you can't forget such things on a duel!!!

Harry. He's more talented than Draco, and is also braver. Draco is a coward; maybe he'd use Unforgivable Curses, but he would't win with that only. Harry also has more duel and fight experience, so he'd surely win

Yeah, for sure Harry. He could defend himself far better than Draco could. Although, Draco might know some dark curses that Harry does not. I still have faith in Harry though, he could defend himself against anything Malfoy tried to throw at him. He's more witty and cunning too.

i have to say Harry.. he's more magical powers and he learns faster than anyone else (PoA, GoF and HBP).. though, he's kinda lazy.. but still, Draco is a cheater and he just doesn't play fair (CoS)... i totally hated him when he attacked Harry unfairly.. So i think Harry would easily beat him

hmm. of course harry would win. but there is still the idea that draco hates harry more than harry hates him (pre-HBP, of course). the last sentence is just a person opinion. also, draco is very jealous of harry, as far as i can tell, and jealousy is a very powerful emotion. all-in-all though, i would have to say that harry would win.

i think harry would win because of his spell knowledge after book 4 and because of being in the DA. also i'm sure he's better than malfoy is a DADA and maybe even charms. we dont know much about malfoys grades) then again if malfoy decided to not fight fair then he might just beat harry.

if harry and draco were in a duel vs.ing each other,i think harry would win,because draco is just a cheating jerk. and he would try and cheat in oder to win,especially against harry.

he did not get cedric killed! And yeh, I agree with the OTHER stuff, he probably has an equal [maybe] ammount of courege as eh..wait. idk. Not ron/hermy, prob. more, but...OK! He's just really lucky. Hes really brave and he probably could do a whole bunch of neat-o-rama stuff, but so far he's just been preety lucky.

Last we checked, Harry annihilated Malfoy (sorry, sweetheart! ) in a duel in the Chamber of Secrets. While I don't doubt that they both haven't gotten more talented since then, Harry is certainly much more defense-oriented than Malfoy, not to mention also being braver and just more interested in DADA... or just defense at all... than Draco.
But, hey, we love Harry because of his courage and determination and whatnot.. and we love Draco for other things.
What would really be remarkable in my opinion, however, is if you put Draco and Harry on the same side for the seventh book. While Draco doesn't possess the same ability to defend himself that Harry has, he possesses many other qualities that make him desirable... such as his cunningness, sharp mind, and attitude.

Basically we're saying Harry's a good person and wizard, and that Draco is a good wizard too but not a very nice person..? I think his main theme in life is to be the best..or 'suceed'.. and Harry's is 'protect.' not sure tho..

when it comes down to it, harry is the typical hero and would win. draco is a bit wittier (sp) but harry after book 5 knows a good amount more about spell casting then i believe draco would...

draco does not fear harry in anyway shape or form and we don't know harryu has more dueling and fighting pratices because we would not have heard about every time draco has dueled because most of what we know comes from harry i do think harry is faster and more agile we do not know who is more powerful magically harry is probable better at defense against the dark arts but that doesn't mean he wouild win draco also is much more dangerous because he is willing to hurt harry badly also draco would be able to look into harry thoughts and tell what curses he plans to use he might even be able to do spells with out speaking i am not sure also we know draco is no dummy he is the person who was able to find a way to get death eaters into hogwarts

Ok, as much as I love Harry, I'm having doubts as to if he could really beat Draco in a duel. Without a doubt, Harry excels in almost everything more than Draco, but Draco has most likely been taught some darker magic from his father and LV. This magic he would undoubtably use against Harry whenever he had the chance.

i think that harry would win! harry is a much harder worker then malfoy and is much better and magic. malfoy is not as good of a wizard as harry i think so i think harry would win

Although Draco knows more dark magic probably, and would actually use dark magic to beat Harry, I have enough confidence in Harry to say that he would do quick thinking like always to avoid it.

And, ofcourse, when Harry's on offense, he obviously knows much more than Draco. So I think Harry would win.

Alot of you said that maybe Draco would because he hates Harry more than Harry hates him. oh WAIT! A duel, does that have to end with a death?? I can't remember. No, it can't, obviously because they "were going to duel" 1st year. But I doubt Harry would use any really powerful curses. Harry's just good. Draco is selfish. I hope Harry, that's why I voted for him. But I'm not 100% sure about that, because Draco had contact with dark wizards, so they can learn him spells Harry doesn't know. So Draco can be able to beat Harry

I believe Harry would beat Draco in a duel. Harry has loads more experience than Draco in defending himself in a tight situation. Harry also probably knows more spells and he knows how to work under pressure, which would give him a big advantage.

Harry has more experience in defending himself, especially in front of Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort.Harry learned a Patronus charm in his third year, learned spells during his fourth year for the triwizard tournament, was head of the DA during his fifth year, and was brave enough to lead his friends to the Department of Mysteries.. ( I haven't read the last two books yet )He also defeated Lord Voldemort in the last book. ( this is what I've been reading on these forums.)
I think he will be able to win a duel against Malfoy. He has more experience and possibly knows more spells than Malfoy since Harry had some help from his third year and above.

Harry! Is there even really a question. He's trained for years, and he has fighting insticts that can't be taught. There's really no question.

So everone be talkin about how Draco would use dark magic against Harry, but remember it wasn't draco who used the sectusempra curse against harry. It was vise versa. Harry Could kill Draco. He could stop Voldemort, so why not Draco, Draco's no better than Ron. The only person who can beat Harry, really, is Albus Dumbledore.

I dont think this is really a fair question because it would probably come down to a popularity contest. But I put Harry because he has shown he is consistently awesome at DADA even beating Hermione in it twice.

Harry is overall more powerful and knowledgeable about spells, but he is too noble to use anything like an unforgivable curse. Draco is not afraid to fight dirty. I think Harry would win, but it would be a tough battle.

Harry. Draco is a decent wizard but unfortunately he is a little careless with his magic and isn't the best dueler. Harry is a bit more experienced with dueling and is exceptionally good at DADA.

I would have to say Draco. THough he is solightly less experienced, he obviously is good enough at magic to become a Death Eater. Okay, so he is a bit pathetic in the last book, but hey, wouldn't you be?

I think Harry is often portrayed as too hard, whilst Draco portrays slightly more human feelings.

Definitely Harry Potter. He has always trumped Draco, and anyone in the Slytherine house for that matter. So yes, definitely Harry.

Well, at first, Draco would start with an advantage. harry doesn't like to use bad magic. He sticks with Expelliarmus (sp). So Draco would be using all this dark magic on Harry. But after having enough of deflecting Draco's curses, Harry would toughen up and beat Draco to a pulp (in a sense). Harry would ultimately win the duel, but not completely unscathed.

I think Harry would win because he's not a coward like Malfoy and because the adrenaline helps him do the right thing...

Harry is by far the more powerful wizard and Draco while cunning is also very arrogant. I know Harry would outwit him...this is really an unfair question. Harry beat Draco in a duel, he outwitted him in a bathroom. Harry is just a better wizard.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm pretty confident that Harry would win. Draco is much better at creating the illusion of power than actually having it. Not to mention dueling is where Harry excels. If Draco were to win a duel between them, it would be quite a surprise to me. I think that would be pretty disappointing to Lucius though.

That's very true VeelaVixen. in HBP Harry and Draco duelled in the bathroom with Myrtle as a bystander. Although Draco used non-verbal spells mainly, he also wanted to use an Unforgivable Curse - Crucio. It takes real hatred and malice to use the Unforgivable Curses and one would think that surely if Draco could channel his powers to such a use he would easily beat Harry who despises the Dark Side. But once again Jo showed us that Light triumphs. Evil is not stronger, merely dishonest and sneaky like Malfoy himself. Harry didn't know what he was using when he used Sectumsempra and, although that is dark magic too, I doubt Harry would ever have used it had he known its functions, in fact this much is even said in the book.



Harry was stronger by far because he did not need to resort to dishonest means unlike Draco who struck first. Harry tried Sectumsempra purely out of desperation.
