Personally i would give up pretty much anything to go to Hogwarts and be a wizard. Except maybe my family, well aslong as they didn't have too die... no what would you give up to go to Hogwarts and be a wizard(or witch!)?

Hiya NickHilton! hummm I am not really sure about this thread...I can see it may have the potential to generate a lot of one liners...but on the other hand it may develop some great discussion..I just want to let you know that the mods are going to be watching this thread to see how its doing, and if its not going to generate good discussion it will have to be locked...

I voted for 'other'. The other would be my knowledge of the HP world (which is a lot). Once I would get to Hogwarts, I would read all the book in the library, and then some, so I could know more than I did. Harry Potter would be 25 right now (if Voldy didn't kill him), and I would know who won..

I wouldn't give up my family (not matter how much I may argue with them), nor would I give up my only-close, not-so-many school friends .

I hate how J.K. says it was in the 90's. Why can't it just be today, then i could(well i wish i could) go to Hogwarts at the same time as Harry. I would give up my knowlege of the Harry Potter books too, because i suppose that i could learn it all back and more.

as long as 'give up' doesn't have anything to do with killing them off, then i would give up my friends because they are horrible to me anyways

My friends, because I don't have any 'real friends' so that wouldn't be to hard. Actually I would give everything if Hogwarts really existed, but yeah, who wouldn't?

Wow, I definitely couldn't give up any of those first few things so I'll go with other. I would give up my athleticism because I'm pretty athletic, but when you have magic who needs to be athletic.

I would never ever ever in my life give up my Family and Friends. They've been there for me since ever. Hmmm. Probably.. I would give up are my things. I mean.. theyre just materials aren't they? And I could buy new things. And since I was a kid, I dreamt of being a wizard, or having cool powers. I would want to live in Hogwarts.

My sanity because I think I lost it a while ago so it won't matter that much anyway. I wouldn't give up my family and friends, they mean too much to me, or my intelligence. I might give up my pets, as they are goldfish and with their short memories I don't think they'll notice *No don't give us away, we love you....who you are you again....err....oh, fishflakes!*

I would give up some of my Muggle material things (like my computer, TV, DVD player, iPod) just to be a teacher at Hogwarts for one school year. I'm too old to be a student! I think I would enjoy being the Divination Professor. But, once that school year is up, I'll gladly return to the Muggle world and to my wonderful toys!

Of course I'll be your friend Ms. lutsija, I always want new friends. Just don't give me up over your pets or I'd probably have to decline your invitation .

Well, this is interesting. I suppose going to Hogwarts entails for the most part giving up certain things automatically. I.E. --- a lot of the muggle things you may be used to --- television, electric devices, etc., even perhaps a lot of the books you would usually read, or newspapers, or magazines. Perhaps a certain degree of privacy too at times. But what would I give up? I guess it would for the most part entail giving up my friends, not that I really have many close personal friends that I speak to a lot. And of course, my job.

If Hogwarts was a real place and the only way to get there is by giving something up.

I would give up my pet... well… I don't have a pet, but I can buy one and then give it up that was a bit selfish was it lol.

I will give up my studies, my muggle subjects. Since I'll be going to a school, I'll be giving up my subjects because I'll be studying now new subjects... more exciting subjects, I should say.

hmm.. I guess I would give up a lot for that. I've got too many people surrounding me who call theirselves my friends, and I could miss some of them. I wouldn't give up my family (inc. pets) and my true friends. I will never ever give up my intelligence!

I'd give the most expensive thing I own, this computer. Frankly O don't care much for as it has caused little more than headaches, missed research papers and the growing threat of identity theft. The only joy this thing has brought me is three sites (other than Veritaserum ) so I'll gladly sacrifice it. I considered my Playstation two, then thoroughly scolded meself for being a fool. That thing has seen me through some hard times. Hmmmm, I guess I could dispose of my Harry Potter collection, after all, what will I need them for? I'll be meeting the actuall people.

I could perfectly give up my sanity - I never had one (joking of course - or maybe not?!)
But on the other hand giving up friends sounds only logical to me. The last time I left a place for educational reasons I didn't care I had to leave people behind. If they are real friends you'll stay in contact anyway. If they are not you will finde out soon enough.
So if I get the chance again I will leave in a heartbeat no matter how good my friends may or may not be in the place I live.

I picked "other" because I would give up everythign I know about the HP world, because I think It would be just amazing to find out everything, while acctually being there. I would want to find out things about the people coming from them, rather than a book. And I would love to acctually read the books they talk about, such as "Hogwarts, a History."

i'd give up my pets, because i barely hang out with them. my friends are waaay to important to me, and i don't really know about my family. i get along with them SOMETIMES, but not always.

if i'd go to hogwarts i'd give in some way my family up, because i'm just there over the holidays, then, i wouldn't see my friends so often (well, if they'd go to hogwarts too...) and i think i'd give up the life i've lived so far... i'd be in an other country with other friends (well, more, new friends is good!), i couldn't just live like i live now... but i'd give that up, definitely!

I would definetely not give up aything else besides my pets. That is because I only have a few teeny fish and one big ugly one who no one really cares about. Ughh...

Probably my home because i could get a home at hogwarts. i could never give up my family or friends because they mean so much to me and it is impossible to ask that of me. i might perhaps give up my pets. i love my pets now but i could give them up and get others later. but i really wouldn't do that. knowledge i need but do i really need intelligence that much. perhaps just a little so i say that i would give up my home to be able to go to hogwarts.

I could never abandon any of those. I love them too much. If I give up my intelligence then there would be no point in going to Hogwarts cause Hogwarts in a school. I don't wanna go to school like an infant. I would give up my favourite pair of jeans to be at Hogwarts, and believe me, that is saying something. If anyone touches my jeans other than to put them away or wash them I go beserk. So I would give up them.

I think i would choose the "other" because giving up people is very selfish. Giving up my sanity wouldn't work because i wouldn't be accepted at Howgarts then!And i couldn't last for very long at such a school without my intelligence.So, I would give up everything i know about Muggle's world, physics, computers, music etc.This is a great sacrifise for me cause i can't live without music and books.

i would give up my friends as I would have to as I would disapear to 10 months ayear ans frenships move on and it would be awkward keeping a secret from them and I would make new friends

i would so give up my pets to go to hogwarts i may even give up some of my friends because well some of my friends are not good friends. but yes my pets. and my friends. i wouldn't give up my family unless they said it was okay for me to give them up.

T.V ahah I could live with out it and if i was at Hogwarts then i wouldnt need T.V because all the action would be there.
I was going to put freinds becasue to be honest I havent really had luck in that department. There have been a few acceptions so i didnt choose friends.
