you dont really know much about them. as for me i would love to know what happened when they were at school. i would read that book.

i know there's not an 'other' but if there were i'd have to pick Harry's grandparents,cause you don't really know much about them,except for in the first book when harry sees them in the mirror.

I would like to learn more about Dumbledore and Harry's parents

I voted for McGonagall, because we really don't know much about her, except that she is now Headmistress, been teaching for 40 years, and sometimes likes to bend the rules for her own gain (SS - Nimbus Two Thousand). But I think she could possibly be related to Gryffindor. I have mentioned in another post about my suspiscions (SP?) that Dumbledore is a descendant to Gryffindor, but it really could be McGonagall. We know she's powerful, but could she compare to that of Snape, Dumbledore or Voldemort?

It'd be interesting to find out how Snape grew to be so cruel, and what exactly James Potter did to Snape to make them hate each other so much. I think it'd be something to know about his family, too.

I would like to know more about James and Lily Potter. We havent heard much about them except the general facts (looks, sports, pure-blood etc...) I would like to know more details about them, because after Snape's memory it has always been on my nerves to know more about James and Lily!

I think that knowing more about Lily and James will be the most beneficial to understanding the story. This is a book about Harry Potter after all. Besides there just isn't much said about either of them. We know more about Neville's parents than Harry's.

I want to know more about Lily and James. We haven't learned much about them and there must be more to them than meets the eye. Snape is a close second. We learned a lot about him in HBP but still there is so much we could know about him.

i think we need to pay more attention to the potters, the dursleys, snape, mr. ollivander and fortescue.

ya learningmore about proffessor mcgonagal would be cool such as wat she did before she was a teacher, who she went to school with, etc....but ya it would also be interesting to learn more about ron and hermione before hogwarts.

I would love to know about Snape's family history as well as his personal history, as to how he became so hateful, cruel, etc. His character so far has been the only one which has the readers wondering if he is from the good side or the bad side. I would love to know more about such a mysterious person.

I wouldn't mind knowing more about James and Lily Potter as there haven't been much information about them other than some rather basic information like their studies, natures or appearances. I would love to know more about the Potter family.

I voted for Malfoy's family. Although with HBP and DH, we learned a lot more about them, I still want to know more. How did Draco act as a kid, how was he treated, how did Lucious and Bellatrix act towards each other before, how, how, how? I want to know more about them. I think it's because All three Malfoys seem like they could have converted to the "good" side at any point.

I voted for Lily and James Potter. In the seventh book, we find out a lot about Snape and Dumbledore's pasts, both of which were very interesting and some parts, unexpected. I would have liked to know what Lily and James' jobs were, what other realitives did they have and more about their time at school, including exactly how they started dating etc.

I would love to know more about James and Lilly Potter. I think it would be very fun to follow them through their years at hogwarts up through their days with the order of the pheonix. But a wise saying from the Rolling Stones: You can't always get what you want, so I guess I will get as much out of the HP as I can to learn more about Lily and James.

I didn't vote, because the character I would like to learn more about is Sirius. We don't know anything about him except that he was James's best mate and that everyone in his family was a slytherin. Did he ever date? Did he ever have a crush in someone? We don't know about his life! I would love to learn about him during Harry's first year (of life) as well. We know he gave him a broom for Christmas, but that's about it! I want to know more about Sirius!!!

I think Dumbledore, because he has a great role in the books, but we don't know very much about him. But I also want to know more about Professor McGonagall and Snape. They have important roles and still we don't know much about them, beside the fact that Snape went to Hogwarts and was bullied by James and his friends.

i just voted for Dumbledore; I think he has a lot of secrets for revealing, he can't be the perfect old man we all love to see him as. But i am also very curious about the Potters, they were Harry's parents after all, it would be nice to know where harry got all his characteristics from (i dont just mean that he looks like James, but with Lily's eyes, because we all know that!)

I've voted for Minerva McGonagall.
I can see the highest number of votes went to James and Lily, followed by Snape. That's quite correct and all, but personally I'd like to know more about McGonagall. There's very little mentioned about her private life or even her social life in the books. I really liked her and wish to know more about her. With all her firm and determinant attitude, it'd have been really fun to read about her. The manner in which she would soften out of the blue...

I voted for Lily and James. Yes, i'm one of those saps who likes to hear about all the gushy details. Their story seems kind of cute. I think that it'd be a decent story to follow. And, like other people, learning about the young maruders (spell that right?) would be very interesting. They were always getting into trouble and whatnot.
Who i'm really interested, and who wasn't on the poll was tonks. We hardly know anything about her childhood. I was just wondering what kind of friends she had and how she had fun (like James and Sirius). I can just imagine her transforming into a pig or something and stampeding over some other girl.

I voted for McGonagall because nothing has been mentioned (as far as I can remember) about her past, where she came from, where she grew up, if she ever got married, nothing. There is so much to find out about her and I bet she probably has a pretty interesting story.

I want to learn more about the late, great, Severus Snape. He's so unpleasant, I want to know what makes him so unhappy. He's one of my favorite charaters.

Snape and Voldemort are well explained in the books. I really feel no need to learn more of them. Dumbledore's history would definetly fascinate more than some. He is so old, he would have a lot of things that happened in his life and I would love to learn all of them. The characters I am really hazy about are Lily and James though. There are huge gaps in their stories. I would like to know their occupations and how James matured after being such a jerk. I want to know what happened in their lives. The books or articles I would really like to read of J.K. Rowlings are biographies of the characters that are more hazy.

I voted for Professor Minerva Mcgonagall. Next to nothing has been said abut her character, and I would really like to learn more. She intruiges me, with her witty sense, yet, kind heart. She's strict, but nice, and I think everyone has had a teacher like that before.

I really hope JK covers her backstory if she decides to write an encyclopedia.
