This has been long overdue, I reckon so here ya go guys - brand new shiny thread for y'all. The last word is said to be "SCAR"...so how do youse all reckon it will end on that word? Get those creative writer skills going then!!

ya know i've heard theories that ginny will give birth to harry's child but i dont think so.

i think it will end with harry killing voldemort and ginny and harry going to a picnic and just talking and after they talk they are standing on a pier and harry is standing and looks down and realizes something. hey ginny said harry,yes harry said ginny,it's gone,whats gone? said ginny and harry stalled m-my s-scar

I've read that theory too (the one that the final word is scar).I don't know.It's possible

I read on a site that JK Rowling said that she was done writing the last chapter of book 7 and the last word is Scar... i think that will be a very unique way of ending the series ...

i saw this thing on the biography channel (at least i think it was) where they were featuring JKR, and she held up an envelope in which she said the last chapter of the 7th book was contained...

i thought i was going to die...

but this was at least a year and a half ago, so she must already be finished...

what about:
harry awaked. he had some very strange dream about wizards. his forehead ached. he looked in the mirror and he saw some strange big lightening scare...

I think Harry's scar will disappear...

'Harry...' said Ron... 'It's lost'...
'what is it?' asked Harry...

I agree with HazarKan when voldy dies the scar will fade and disapear but then he wont be harry any more so im kind of torn

it's probably gonna disappear after the prophecy is fullfilled..or maybe that's gonna be the last description of Harry after he dies...or maybe it's gonna be somethin' like this: "Voldemort's gone,deatheaters too..Harry could not believe that it's all over..only marks that were left as a proof of the existing of Voldemort and the prophecy,were the deep,painfull wounds in his heart,and the most important one-his scar" ok,this is stupid,but somethin' like that..

Just a reminder to y'all that although the topic of this thread is asking for what the possible last word/sentence is in book 7, this DOES NOT mean there will be an exception in relation to the one-liner rule. So please, elaborate more in your posts...explain WHY you think that will be the last word/sentence. Cheers guys.

Yeah.. I've heard that the last word of the 7th book would be "scar" and many had already suggested it would be something like:
"It's gone"
"What?"
"Your scar"...
or something like:
"Harry, where's your scar?"

But, if those theories fail... here's another one from me:
"Finally, the wizarding world is at peace. Many had happened and many lives had been sacrificed for this day to come. Yet --- one simply could not imagine how all these immensly unimaginable events had all started with a one small scar."

This is my ending..

As Harry, Ron and Hermione strolled down the garden path the air filled with the familiar sweet smell of grass and honeysuckle, the sun set slowly over the Burrow. Percys voice echoed through the air calling them back to the house for supper in the garden as Ron and Hermione held hands and laughed at Crookshanks chasing several giggling gnomes.

Harry’s heart swelled. He had his two best friends by his side, he and Ginny were together again and he was going to enjoy Mrs Weasleys marvellous feast.

All that had happened was now a distant memory and the only remnant of that time was a small lightning shaped scar.

i think that the theory about his scar disappearing is very possible. i heard a theory that his scar is a horcrux and that after he kills voldemort someone will have to do the killing curse on his scar... and he'll wake up later with his friends around him, and find that his scar is gone along with voldemort. i dunno, its possible i guess. cause voldemort "put some of himself into harry" or something, which could be the scar with the horcrux in it...

J.K Rowling herself actually has said that the last word will be scar. I was thinking perhaps that maybe what will happen is that the last scene in the book will be at Harrys funeral, and someone close to Harry, Ginny or Professor McGonagall perhaps... will be giving a speech on how everyone owes their lives to Harry.

I think the sentence will be something something

"..................... remember him, the boy with the lighting-shaped scar."

I think that harry will use the mirror of erised to find out what the horcruxes are because that's what he'll want more than anything in the last book. Then, at the end of the book, since it's supposed to end with scar, I think it might say something like:

"And Harry looked into the mirror once more wondering what he'd see now that Voldemort was dead. There, grinning, was Ginny who was smiling at he, Harry, who no longer had his scar."

I think this one is cool! Because it's mine lol!

Harry look at the Voldemort and Death Eater's bodies and think of a thing, a thing he knew he had to do when he will have defeated the Dark Lord. If he did it, the Dark Lord will disappear forever, he had to do it, the ultimate sacrifice. At that moment, Harry turn his wand to his scar...

Alright, it's been established, as a fact, by J.K. Rowling herself, that the very last word of her dear Harry Potter series is definitely "scar." The purpose of this post is not whether or not to determine what the last word is going to be, but how it will be used. Here's my theory: I don't think Ms. Rowling will get past the battle in which, in my perspective, Harry will kill Voldemort. The end of the series could be on the battlegrounds itself. So blahblahblah, fightfightfight, and lo-and-behold, here's the last line: "The only memory left of Lord Voldemort now was a lightning-shaped scar."

yeah, as about I said, me too I think that LV will be near Harry at the end, and the last chapter, will be the last moment of LordVoldemort.

Because my last sentence would look like yours phoenixashes if Harry isn't an Horcruxes. But if he is, the last sentence will be when Harry Kill himself

If maybe the last word is scar in book 7 the ending may be that even before dying harry had his scar an when or if voldy and him both die at exact timing it might have dissappeared cause it was a curse put on by voldy and if there s no voldy there might be no scar either.

Just for the confused ones...As of right now the last word is scar... The last chapter is finished...she hasnt started the rest of the book yet though.

Sentence "Harry was rejoiced and remembered as... Tacawaqntuttu...The boy with scar." Srry i cant think of a real one!!!

The scar, I think, he keeps because if that left him, so would the power which was given to him through the scar. I think Harry will wind up defeating Voldemort but wondering what he should do with the rest of his life, sense the one worry of his...is gone. I think the last sentence will be

"Harry, though defeating Lord Voldemort, would never be the same and though he tried to forget, the memory would always haunted his dreams, and no matter what he did he was and will always be remembered as the boy who lived."

yes, i believe that the last word will be 'scar' ... but for some reason i dont think his scar will vanish. i did also hear (jk said this herself in an interview) that the last chapter will be briefly about life after hogwarts... and if she says that all of our questions will be answered in the last book, then thats good enough for me. as much as i would want her to write more books about harry, it would be pretty pointless.

yeah something like that, I have no idea. but the last word being scar would be cool, probably like Ron & Hermione talking about his scar or something

Assuming that Harry kills Voldemort ~ FOR GOOD, without losing anymore of those he cares about, I would say that the last word would be "happy" or a form of it anyway. Maybe the last sentence caould be something like "And Harry never felt so happy."

I imagine this sentence would conclude a scene, maybe at The Burrow, or maybe even 12 Grimauld Place after the war is over and all his friends and the remaining members of the Order are all gathered together and everyone is acting as normal, with Mrs. Weasley cooking tons of food, Fred and George being silly, etc. Hey! Aren't Bill and Fleur supposed to marry in book 7? Maybe the book would end with the wedding. The war's over and everyone is relaxed and happy.

Just a thought.

Someone said earlier that JK was done with Hp7 and actually held up the envelope that contained the last chapter.Whoa...how can she be done?? Anyway, here's my ending of Book 7:

Harry looked in the mirror. He realized how much he'd changed since he'd set out for the Horcruxes. He smiled. At least he had a souvenir from his adventures. He lifted his hair with a bandaged hand. There,on his forehead, as hazy as ever,was a lightning bolt shaped scar.

I hate to disagree with the majority but I think the last sentence is going to be way more simple asuming of course that it is after all a happy ending:

"As Harry looked out of the window of the Hogwarts express taking him away from the castle it fully occured to him for the first time since his fight with Voldemort: He had relieved himself of the burden he had carried all thesse years and that he was at last free"



That would be an ending that I would like enjoy wouldn´t you.
Just to underline the fact that after years of fighting a peaceful time has finally arrived for the boy who lived.

I don´t think that Harry will lose his scar because of the thing it stands for. It´s symbol of the love of his mother and not only of his struggle with Voldemort. And the love of his mother is lingering in his blood forever.

You guys are being a little rediculous (no offense.) Harry is not gonna lose his scar because if you have a scar it stays forever. Plus that scar is not just gonna disappear like a button falling from a coat in the hallway at a school, I mean, It's a scar for crying out loud!!!! Don't you understand that people????

I agree with some of [u] [guyz'z] theories about his scar disapearing, because doesn't Dumbledore say something about his scar in the first book when harry is placed on the welcome mat at the dursleys...even if he could get rid of Harry's scar, he wouldn't because it could come in handy in the future!!! This is an obvious hint that somehow the scar, well I think will play a MAJOR role in the next book!

anyway that's my little bit of input!!! Agree or dissagree I'm intent on this theory! I just had to see if someone felt the same!

I expect the end of the book to be somethink much more emotive. It may be something this way:

Some people had gone, other had lost themselves while the war was on, they all knew so.
Hagrid looked to Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny, he realized they had grown up so quickly. -I remember the day I met you, a eleven-years-old little innocent boy who knew nothing about his past, nothing about what he was and what a lose was going to fall over him. -Tears were falling down his cheer while his was looking Harry, Hogwards was begining to get illuminated by the pale light of the sun -Now, I look at you, all of you, -said, looking to the girls and Ron -and can see what's left from... from...
-Hagrid... -Hermione hold his hand, trying to consolate him.
-No, Hermione. You are the only men and women left from the Order of the Phoenix. -He shutted up with and absent look.
-Are you OK? -asked Harry, looking at him
-No -answered him, then stopped to think. -and I also know you are either OK. We have lost too much this days and we can forget what happened.
They all thought of that. Harry rememberd Lupin, getting killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, Tonks, who died of sadness, Dumbledore, murdered by Snape, who sacrified himself for Harry's life. He also could see McGonnagall fighting Nott and Lucius' Malfoy Doomspell against Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and everyone's else horrible dying, even Death Eaters' murders made the feel sad and sick.
Harry looked the sky, it was really crear now, and knew Hagrid was true. They were the left ones, they were alone right now, and an empty feeling opressed his chest while he was thinking of it. He was not happy at all, he had lost nearly everybody he ever loved. Then he looked at Ron and Hermione, "a lovely couple" thought to himself, and to Ginny. He holded he hand and knew with all his soul that a deep happiness was approaching.

OK, I dont know how true this is but I read on the net with my sister last night that the last sentance of the final book will be...
"All because of one little scar."
Dont know how true it is but thats pretty interesting!

If that's the last sentence, I don't know how I'll take it. The whole series hasn't been about his scar...it's been about the fact that he's "The boy who lived."

But that's just me

ok here's me theories/last sentences. plural because i'm writing two becuase i'm undecided as to whether Harry is going to live or die here goes:

#1 'And so ended the life of Harry Potter, the boy who lived. But he will always be remembered as the boy who defeated you-know-who, the boy with the lightening shaped scar' - That's if he dies

#2 'Harry's troubled were finally over, but he would never be complettely happy. Noone who had lost and gone through as much ass harry potter had been could be truly happy. Yes, Voldemort was dead, but as was his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore and Ginny. Their deaths were his fault, they all could have been prevented. And he would always be reminded, everytime he felt himself being happy all he had to do was look in the mirror and he would remember his losses. The only thing that would always be with him will always remine him, his scar ' <--- O.k so that last one was kinda long. i actually don't really like that theory, but anywho.

I don't think the scar will disappear, and I don't think it will end right after Voldemort die, so something along the lines of:

"Suddenly, Harry's expression changed to one of horror and fear. He ran into the bathroom, locking out all the sounds in the world. He had felt a prickle on his forehead and reached his hand on to it, his lighting-bolt scar."

A little dramatic Godzilla-kinda ending

I believe that JK has said she had been planning on including a chapter in the last book with some of the after story of the people who survive. It's logical that this would come at the end of course, so perhaps Harry will survive and it'll be about him in the future.

I guess when the after story, for lack of a better term, is told it is always the main characters who are talked about last. Maybe it'll be like, "....and as the years passed, Harry held his head high and didn't seem to mind as much when a stranger would gasp in awe, with their eyes upon the "boy who lived and his lightning-bolt scar."

Just a crazy idea...who knows

Ok people!! this is how i think it will end.

Ron and Hermione made their slow way across the battle field, mourning their friends as they passed their lifeless bodies.
As they reached the centre, Hermione let out a high wail of grief and fell to her knees.
"it's him ron! it's Harry!"
Ron looked into Harry's face and gasped.
Hermione looked up at him and said through her tears, "what ron?!"
Ron had gone deathly pale. he slowly lifted a trembling hand and pointed at harry's forehead. "hermione! what's happened to his scar!"

the end!

this is just my view, i mean i do hope harry lives!

I'm not so sure that the book will end with Harry's scar gone. It would be a good ending but, I think j.k rowling would find that slightly too predictable.

Anyway, I've got no idea really, Jk probably told us the last word to let our minds run free.

ok.. this is my ides of an ending...

harry looked from Ron's lifeless body, to Voldemort's wand. He could hear Neville crying behind him. his body shook all over as he tried to keep in the tears.
"the time has finally arrived, when i may take back my rightful place as the most powerful wizard, by desroying the boy who lived." Voldemort laughed, and pointed his wand at harry. Harry tightened the grip on his wand, and looked up at voldemort.
"you cannot kill me!"
"oh, but that is where you are wrong, Harry my boy. i have no use for you, but for your death to return my power to me!" a sudden burst of light exploded from Voldemort's wand and headed for Harry, who was already using a counter curse.
"i see dumbledore has taught you well. You must of been his star pupil!" another flash of light erupted from Voldemort's wand, but Harry countered it, releasing an equal amount of light from his own wand. " I may die, but it will only be after you are defeated!" with that said Harry pointed his wand at Voldemot once more and fired.
Neville watched all of this from behind Harry. He had failed to do his parents work, failed to be an auror and kill Voldemort. His grandma would be so dissapointed in him. he knew that he must help Harry, but he didn't know how. he was so much weaker than voldemort. just then he heard Harry call his name. he got up and ran to Harry's side, wand at the ready.
"are you sure Neville?" Harry asked.
Neville nodded, as he whispered the cruciati spell under his breath and aimed at Voldemort.
all of his fears were soothed when he saw Voldemort stiffen and collapse. Harry ran towards him, misjugding voldemort's condition, and recieving a blow to the chest from a spell cast from voldemort's wand, causing him to fly backwards. Both Harry and Voldemort lay motionless on the ground. Neville, was going to go call for help when Snape appeared behind him, with a hand on his shoulder.
"Wait Neville, the task isn't complete" Snape marched over to Voldemort and pointed his wand at him. He uttered no words, but a violet-blue light came from the tip of his wand and went into Voldemort's chest. It was finally over. He who must not be named had been defeated, but so had the boy with the scar!...

*i dunno..probably something completely diferent than that.. who knows..

Yes, a nice little story there, and it could maybe happen, but I have to disagree on that it will be the end of the book. JKR must have at least one chapter after Voldemort is gone to sort out stuff.

I think the last sentence will be a statement of Harry's scar, in referance of him being the boy who lived, somthing like that, or someone pointing out it's gone (though I doubt the last one).

Anyway I have two sentences for the last word scar;

Harry felt happy, happier than he had been for ages. He knew know he could live life without any problems, without any danger, without any more prickles of pain coming from his scar.

Or my other one...

Harry pointed his wand straight at his head.
'You wouldn't kill yourself, Potter' Voldemort said.
Harry didn't reply for he knew what he must do. He said the killing curse and there was a flash of green light.
There was only one witness to this terrible thing, a man with a hooked nose and greasy hair, a man called Severus Snape. Snape had been told to come help Harry Potter but he was too late.
Snape ran over to the two bodies, both were dead. He kicked Voldemort in the head and then ran over to Harry's body. He might of been sleeping, but of course nothing can deflect the killing curse. Snape looked closer at Harry and noticed something was different.
Harry didn't have his scar.

Well, there's my stories.

'Ginny, no!' Harry yelled but was too late.

Ginny's now lifeless body fell to the ground with a soft thud.

"What'll you do now, Potter?"Voldemort sneered, his snakelike eyes shining in the sun.

'I'lll kill you!"Harry yelled as his pointed his wand at Voldemort.
Before Tom could do anythign, Harry yelled,
"Avada Kedavra."

Voldmort chuckled as the spell hit him, as if it was not going to work.
But his expression changed as his body slowly sank to the ground.

I can't believe it, Harry thought. I've done it.

Harry smiled sadly as he looked over at Voldemort's now decaying, limp body. As he leaned over to kiss Ginny, tears running down his cheeks, he thought about how would never again have to worry about the pain associated with his scar.

Nice ending eh? (*sarcastic*)Probably going do die though (hopefully not), I dunno.

i think the last chapter will be an epilogue so harry and ginny have baby, get married, etc. and then the baby is born (last page) and ginny says...look harry, he looks just like you only without your scar.....

Well,i think it'll be something like:
"Harry lowered his wand after finally finishing off Lord Voldemort.He felt tired,more tired than he had ever felt in his life.He looked around at the dead bodies of all his friends.The enormous pain he felt would surely be a much more painful scar."
Not very pink and fluffy,but at least Harry doesn't die in it,although I don't think he can make it...
