This has been long overdue, I reckon so here ya go guys - brand new shiny thread for y'all. smile.gif So how do you think JKR is going to wrap up the series? What will happen? Who will die? Who will survive? What will change? Let's get those theories and speculations rolling then people!!

The old thread has now been archived and can be found here.
Hermie122
You know, I think Ginny is gonna die in Book 7! I mean, Voldemort could find out that Harry really likes Ginny! I can't wait to find out!
Ginevra Potter
Hermie122, I completely agree. Voldemort will use Ginny's death to lure Harry in for that final battle, where both Harry and Voldemort (I believe) will die. I've written a lot about this in the first thread. I dunno if I feel like repeating it all. I'll see once there are more replies. But do you guys think that Dumbledore is really dead? I do, but I've heard rumors to the otherwise. Interesting thing to consider.
And what about Sirius? I have half a mind to think he's still alive, but I dunno for sure. What do you think? And how does your thoeries come into play in the ending?

Gotta Go. Time for dinner.

Ginerva Potter:

You know, I don't want Dumbledore to be dead, but I think he his. Harry doesn't like it and neither do I, but it happened, it's just hard to believe because he was such a great character. Dumbledore was like a father to Harry and a great headmaster to everybody else, it was really sad to see him go.

I am not too sure about Sirius either! I mean, it seems to me like he may have just disappeared for awhile, but it also seems way unlikely that he didn't die. Would he have come back to Harry if he had not died? And would Harry be able to command Kreacher like he does?

How do my theories play into the ending? Well, let's see. I think, like I said, that Ginny is going to play a big part in the 7th book because Harry likes her alot. I think she could get hurt, or maybe even killed. But it is also likely that Hermione or Ron will get hurt because of what has happened to them in the past. Plus, Voldemort could probably recognize Ginny, Hermione, and Ron by now.

Anway, that's just what I think. But it is really interesting that you think Harry and Voldemort will both die. Now that I think about it, its a definite possibility that both of them die. I don't think that Voldemort will ever win, but maybe one of his death eaters will escape or something and become the next Voldy?

Just a thought!
Ginevra Potter
That would be an interesting idea, to have a death eater take command after Voldemort's downfall. A way to keep the cycle of the story going and keep the reader wondering... "Who will the next Harry Potter be, then?" Fun stuff.

Yeah, I think Ginny will play a very large part in the next book. I actually wrote my own version of the very beginning of the seventh book that kinda introduces that. Here:

Harry Potter Fan Fiction: The Beginning of the Seventh Book
By Mary Julia (Ginevra Potter)

Crickets were chirping outside on the street of Privet Drive. Mrs. Arabella Figg’s tabby cat, Mr. Tibbles, was meowing mournfully from three doors up. Night was falling fast on the town of Little Whinging. On this late summer’s eve children were in bed while drowsy adults sat by the television, sipping cool drinks before retiring. But inside number four, in an upper room overlooking the calm street, there was much excitement going on.

Harry Potter was scrambling about the room, throwing strange things into an already overflowing trunk at the foot of his bed. All of his old spell books, his pewter cauldron, a moving photo album with pictures of his parents, and a jumble of wizard’s robes were already piled into the trunk. He picked up his copy of A Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi as he turned to speak to his best friend in the whole world, Ron Weasley.

“Are you sure we have to leave tonight! It seems like they would have given us a little more warning!”

Ron was frantically throwing things into his trunk as well. “I told you, they did! Errol must have collapsed or got lost or something. They sent him ages ago. That’s when the not was dated, anyway.”

Errol was the Weasley family owl. He was very old and didn’t always complete his missions. Harry recalled a time when Errol had to enlist the help of two other owls to deliver something to Harry
.
“I’m just so exhausted. You know, I think last night was a poor choice for staying up all night playing Exploding Snap.,” said Harry, sinking onto his bed.

“Yeah, well we can at least get a few hours of sleep. Hermione’s gone to tell Mum we’ll be a little late.” Ron sighed, sitting onto his own camp bed. “But I really want to get out of here.”

“You think you’re sick of this place? I’ve had to live with my aunt and uncle for sixteen years! I’ve never been more ready to leave in my life.”

Harry’s aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley, had allowed Harry to live with them since he was one year old, after his mother (Petunia’s sister) and father had been murdered by the most powerful dark wizard of the age, the evil Lord Voldemort. Harry had had to endure his aunt and uncle’s horrible treatment, as well as the abusive behavior of Harry’s massive cousin, Dudley. But Harry was turning seventeen tomorrow, which is the age of adulthood in the wizarding world, so he would finally be able to leave for good.

“Oh I can’t stand this anymore,” Ron burst out. He threw back his covers and crawled into bed. “Come on, Harry. Let’s get some sleep. We can finish packing when Hermione gets back in a few hours.”

Not needing telling twice, Harry threw back his own covers. “Good night,” he murmured, removing his glasses and laying down. He closed his eyes and almost instantly drifted off to sleep.

~~~~~~~~
“Harry! Harry, get up! Get up! Where’s something to throw at him?”
“Oh Ron, you’re so tactless.”
“Well, he won’t wake up! We’ve got to go!”
“Here, let me do it.”
Harry felt something warm brush his cheek. Then a very familiar voice whispered in his ear. “Harry, happy birthday!”
Harry opened his eyes. Someone was very close to him. He couldn’t tell who it was; there was a kind of white and orange blur. He reached over to his bedside table, grabbed his glasses, and put them on. It took a moment for his eyes to focus, but when they did he jumped with a start.
“Well, it’s nice to see you too!” Ginny Weasley was sitting on Harry’s bed, smiling and brushing back her beautiful long red hair.
“Yeah, well if that’s what it takes to wake him up, I’ll leave the kissing to you.”
Harry turned his head and saw Ron already up and grabbing his minute owl, Pigwidgeon, and throwing him into his cage. Harry turned back to Ginny.
“Why are you here?”
“Oh, well, I thought I’d come and see my long lost boyfriend, so Hermione brought me here. Side-along-apparition.” She smiled and looked to where Hermione was standing a little ways behind her, grinning behind her bushy brown hair.
“Hello again,” Hermione said. “You get a good sleep?”
Harry was just about to answer when Ron interrupted him.
“He’d better have gotten a good sleep! We’re really late. We were supposed to be gone by midnight, and it’s all ready half past! Get up, lazy bones!”
“Ron, it’s his birthday!” Hermione said scoldingly, reminding Harry strongly of Ron and Ginny’s mother.
“Hey!” Harry sat up suddenly. “It is my birthday!”
“You caught on quick,” said Ron, smiling. “And I wish you a good one.”
“Thanks,” Harry replied. “It ought to be! I can finally do magic at this house! I can’t wait to jinx Dudley!” He snatched up hi wand and forced himself out of bed. It was, after all, just past midnight, and he and Ron had pulled an all-nighter only the day before.
Hermione put on a very stern face. “Harry, you know you can’t do that! That’s against the-“
“Yeah, Yeah. The decree for something with Muggles, etc.,” Harry interrupted, too used to Hermione’s longwinded speeches about breaking rules. “Fine, I won’t jinx him. But Uncle Vernon, on the other hand-“
“Oh ha ha. Anyway, Voldemort can do magic at this house now, too. So I agree with Ron.” Hermione checked her watch. “We’d better get going.”
“Yeah, get up and get dressed. Hermione and I will leave the room.” Ginny stood and walked toward the door.
“Wait!” said Harry in desperation, standing up. “Ginny, why are you here?”
“I told you,” she said smartly, “I came to see my boyfriend.”
Harry felt very confused. “But, Ginny. Don’t you remember what we agreed on ...that day?” Harry asked, not wanting to mention the sad event that happened as few weeks ago when their dear headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, had been murdered.
“Of course I do,” she replied, “though I can hardly say that I agreed. I’ve waited long enough. I don’t care what happens. I miss you and I know you miss me.” And with that she walked out the door after Hermione and closed it. Harry was left to stare after her.
“Well, it looks like you’ve got no choice, mate. I grew up with her, and when she sets her mind to something, that’s it. There’s no changing back.” Ron put on a sly smile.
Harry looked back at the door for another moment, the turned to Ron. “I see you’re taking this well,” Harry said, grinning as he began to pull off his pajamas.
Ron shrugged. “I figure that it’s the inevitable. Besides, I’ve got my own girl to worry about.”
Ron and Hermione had finally gotten together at the end of last year. Whenever Hermione popped in to say hi, they were always together. They usually acted normally, but those spare few minutes when Harry would leave the room were somewhat awkward to interrupt upon return.
When they had changed, they let the girls back in. Harry and Ron were gathering a few last minute items before they left, and banging about rather loudly.
“Shh!” Hermione whispered. “We don’t want to wake Harry’s aunt and uncle!”
“I couldn’t care less,” Harry said, not bothering to speak softly. “I’m finally leaving! They can’t complain.”
Hermione muttered something to the floor about, “common courtesy....”
“Have they ever shown me common courtesy?” said Harry defiantly. “Or any of you, for that matter?”
They all reflected back to the end of term last month, when they had gotten off the Hogwarts express. Ron and Harry had walked up to the Dursleys and Dudley had scrambled to the car clutching his bottom. Uncle Vernon said something very rude indeed to Ron and had turned away. Then Harry had informed his Aunt and Uncle the he would be having a friend to stay with him over the summer. Aunt Petunia had gone deathly white, and managed to stumble back to the car before she fainted. Uncle Vernon had turned instantly purple with his vein popping out. But before he could embarrass himself in front of all of the people at Kings Cross, Harry conveniently mentioned that Ron was now of age and could do magic outside of school whenever he liked. To that, Uncle Vernon had gone extraordinarily pale, turned abruptly around and headed back to the car. Ron and Harry had had to run to catch up.
“Good point,” said Ron, coming out of his reverie. “So we really should leave.”
“Are you still going to apparate there, even though neither of you have your license?” asked Hermione with a threatening tone.
“Yeah, why not?” Ron replied fiercely. “I only failed by half an eyebrow and Harry has been able to do it for ages. He even went halfway across the country with Dumble-“
He fell silent. They all looked at the ground. The loss had still not healed in the slightest. It had only been a month ago, after all. Finally after many moments of quiet, Ginny raised her head.
“Well,” she whispered, “we’d better go. Mum is expecting you, and she doesn’t even know that I’m out of bed.”
They put all of their stuff into a neat pile. Hermione flicked her wand and it all disappeared to the Burrow, just as Dumbledore had done only a year before.
“Well, let’s go. Hermione, do you mind if I go with Harry?” Ginny asked politely.
“Not at all! But Harry, you should really write a note to your family. You might not ever see them again.”
“I hope so!” But to Hermione’s stern look he added, “Oh all right.” Harry sighed, snatched up a piece of parchment, and wrote a hasty farewell note.
Dear Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, and Dudley,
Thanks for everything. Sorry for all the trouble.
Bye.
Your Nephew,
Harry
He placed it on his bed and turned back to his friends.
“Shall we go then?”
They all spread out and prepared for departure. Hermione closed the window so the sounds wouldn’t carry into the night.
“We should take turns. Ron, why don’t you go first?” Hermione stepped back so he would have more space. Ron stood in the middle of the room, eyes closed in pained concentration. For a moment nothing happened, and then...
CRACK! He was no longer there.
“Well, you two should go next. I can stay behind in case anything goes wrong,” said Hermione.
“Nah, you go ahead. We’ll need more room with two people. If there’s no one here it’ll be... er... easier,” Harry said, hoping she had bought it.
“Uh-huh. Sure.” Hermione grinned. Then she stepped forward into the middle of the room and CRACK! She was gone too.
“Ready?” said Harry, looking down at Ginny.
“More than ever,” she replied, smiling up at him.
They stepped forward into the middle of the room. Ginny snaked her arm through his and gripped it firmly.
“Hold on a minute.” Harry took Ginny’s arm and turned her to face him. Then he kissed her: a long, gentle kiss that seemed timeless. When he finally pulled back, he grinned at her.
“You were right. I did miss you.”
She smiled back at him. “I told you so.”
“Yes, but this doesn’t mean this is a good idea. What if-“
“Shh.” She put her finger to his lips. “Let’s just not worry about it. Time to go.” She took his arm again. “Ready?”
“Ready,” Harry replied. “One.... Two.... Three!”
And the turned together into blackness.
Okay, thet was that. That's how I think (and hope) that JKR will do it. Anyway, that whole schpeal was just to say that I agree with you, Hermie122. Another question. What roll do you think Dumbledore's portrait will play in the second book. I have a theory on that, but I'll share it next post.
Cheers!
Hermie122
Wow, that was seriously awesome Ginerva Potter! I hope it will go like that too! That would be so awesome to see Ginny refuse to not be Harry's girlfriend, if you can understand that.
I was wondering about Dumbledore's portrait too. I mean, can portraits give advice? Just something to think about.
Well, I would really like to know your theory!
potterfan101
if voldemort finds out that ginny likes harry he could use her again lik COS
but i think that if someone is going to die
one of the weaslys is my guess
but i love all the weaslys
WELL HAV TO WAIT AND SEE
Ginevra Potter
Here is what I wrote in the last thread in relation to DD portrait. This is a very vague idea that I have, but it's better than nothing!
As for Dumbledore's portrait, I think that it will help, but in the same manner as the other ones. The portrait will know all about his own life, but more like it's just a bunch of facts he has memorized. He wont be able to recall what he was thinking before he died or anything. Therefore, he will only be able to give very general advice. I do think he will help Harry find the horcruxes, though. Like, if Harry askes him who R.A.B. was, the portrait might say something like, "I believe I was working on that previously. I would suggest you find a book in the library that has something to do with..." and then give a vague description, like "the Daily Prophet in the 1970's" or something. Then Harry, Ron, and Hermione would rush to the library to research it, staying up incredibly late and getting incredibly frustrated by such bland advice. Not exactly that, of course, but something.
Anywho, I hope you understand what I was saying. That's the best way I can explain it, and it's still a little jumbled. Does anyone else have a different theory?
Cheers!
I think that Harry will die sad.gif !I don't know why I believe this,but I'm sure that the Harry Potter series won't have a "Happy End".However,JKRowling is the only one who knows tongue.gif !I can't wait to find out blink.gif
Hello, i have a similiar theory to yours, but i feel that dumbledore should be able to give loads of advice to harry even if he is a portrait. Look at all the other past headmasters and headmistresses, they have helped dumbledore in the past and i am positive that he will help harry in the seventh book just like you said! You have a great point that i wouldn't even have thought of! I have a bad feeling like yourself that ginny might get killed as voldemort might see that she means alot to harry and he will go after her to weaken harry. My mates and i always cum up with different theories and in the end we will just have to see for ourselves. I have a funny feeling that sirius' spirit might be lurking around the hall of prophecy but i could be talken rubbish!
sorry to bore you, just wanted to share my insight on the matter.
Cheers from luckyfish!!!!! tongue.gif
I'm quite sure that Harry will die. But altough I wish that Voldemort will die too, I'm not so sure he will. I belive too that more people close to Harry will die. Ok, I thought so for HBP too, but as this is the last Harry Potter- book ever - or so I belive- it would be in some way stupid, if only Harry would die.
I belive that Ron and Hermione are together in last book. The end of HBP already told it in same way, and if they really go with Harry in Codric Hollow and everywhere else, it would be kinda stupid if they weren't together. But I don't belive that Ginny will be with them. Althoug she and Harry are in love, Harry won't let him come in dangers.
Hermie122
I don't think that JKR will make Harry die. I mean, they are the Harry Potter books, so I think that if Harry died, it couldn't be called Harry Potter. Well, we'll have to wait and see!
Dreama
well,Harry will die..cause it's better for him..his parents,Sirius, and DD are waiting for him..almost every person that he had loved is dead,and he belongs there..with his friends and family..if he dies,he will be free from everything..from the prophecy,his scar,evil,other deaths..it really wouldn't be fair if he would have to see more dyin' of the people he loves..and Ginny will probably die,so they can be together in heaven..if he stays alive..all he's got is Ginny..and she still goes to school..what is he goin' to do alone,without anyone to point him what should he do next(he's got Weasleys and Lupin,but they're not DD and Sirius sad.gif )he will probably get a job in MOM..and live like an average wizard.. but what kind of future is that to someone who defeated the greatest wizard in last,I don't know,100 years..he deserves more..that ending is too ordinary and stupid,at least to me.. dry.gif
I am one of those terribly annoying people who is absolutely convinced that Harry will die, and anyone who disagrees with me i usually end up debating them until i'm at wit's end.
First off, although i could see ginny dying, and i don't think it's personal enough. I know what many people think, he's in love with her, it's as personal as you can get. But for me, i think that the most personal person who could die, the person who could really spur harry into trying to kill Voldy is Hagrid. Hagrid's been with him through everything, and I think Voldy's going to kill him as direct personal attack on Harry.
In the end though, I think Harry will be a horcrux, and somehow he's have to kill himself in order to kill voldy, even though I'm not sure how it works. but J.K.R. is a very intelligent writer and I'm sure she'll find a way to figure it out.
I don't think ron and hermione will die, in interviews she seems quite against the idea of them dying. Anyone else i think has a good chance of being killed.
sphinx
i hate to say it but i think that harry might die in the last book *sniffs*
harry might die to save someone he loves or because he's horocrux or something. i really hope he doesnt die though
ginny (who i personally hate) i think will play some part in the 'Final Battle' i hope that she dies rather than harry, but knowing him he'll probably sacrifice himself to save her.
dumbledore is dead i am convinced of it no matter how much i love his character i have accepted him as being dead.
sirus shall return possibly. there is no real evidence saying he is 'dead'
i even wrote my fan fiction with him returning.
in the end i think voldemort will die (good always wins in these types of things) and everyone who survived will be very sad, but will have a much better future than before
Witch Queen of Angmar
Snape helps Harry defeat Voldemort and both Harry and Voldemort dies, not sure on what would happen to Snape but i hope he survives.
I have a crazy theory I posted in the Department of Mysteries forum.
Many believe that in the end, the veil will become very important. Now, Dumbledore spent most of HBP telling Harry about Tom Riddle's past, and they both found out about the Horcruxes. This sets up the quest to find the other Horcruxes and destroy them in order to finally be rid of Voldy. This quest will probably take up a good portion of the final book.
Why does Dumbledore feel that teaching Harry details about Tom Riddle's past is more important than teaching him highly advanced hexes and other spells (which "most" of the reading populace expected Dumbledore to teach him, Harry being an amateur of sorts when it came to duelling, especially against Voldy)? Perhaps Dumbledore feels that magical knowledge alone is useless against Voldemort. He, the most powerful wizard of the age, duelled Voldy himself and only ended up in a stalemate. Harry is nothing compared to Dumbledore in terms of knowledge and experience. Thus teaching Harry these things would be useless in the end.
A person's past can haunt them and cut deeper than the most dreadful wound. Dumbledore has said that there are worse things than death, something Voldy doesn't understand. Voldy is also very proud of his Slytherin heritage and hates his Muggle father. What about Tom Riddle's mother? Does Voldy hold a secret fondness or even love for her, seeing as how she is the only one who ever REALLY cared for him? Remember, Harry's power is LOVE. He is also now equipped with the knowledge of Voldy's past.
Now, for my theory (sorry about the long setup ). Could Harry, in a moment of desperate fighting with Voldemort, use this knowledge against him, reminding Voldy of his mother and how she was treated by his family, cause Voldy to have a MAJOR change of heart and outlook on life, then....Voldemort goes through the veil of his OWN FREE WILL?
The knowledge of his past he is probably unaware of could touch that part of Voldemort that loves his mother. His mother's abuse at the hands of his family could convince him that perhaps blood isn't something to be proud of. This would cut him deeply, making him an emotional mess. He would probably deny it at first, raining hateful words upon Harry, but Harry could have the memories on hand or another object as evidence of his words. Voldemort, after having his world crash down around him, suddenly realizes the error of his ways and the destruction and misery he has caused, being no better than the family that abused his mother. Filled with so much emotional pain and confusion, he decides to walk through the veil and rid the world of his presence, since no one would probably forgive him.
If the final battle IS in the MoM, it would be easy for Voldemort to get to the Death Room. Hanging his head in shame, he could even apologize to Harry and say that this may be the only way to atone for his atrocities. Harry, in a moment of compassion, would try to convince him to live, that he could be saved. Then, perhaps like Star Wars, say that "you already have, Harry" then disappear behind the veil. Harry's "power" will have then defeated the Dark Lord as foretold by the prophecy.
This ending would be even better if Harry isn't a Horcrux. That way he could live to tell Voldy's story and perhaps become the next Dumbledore, who was known to have defeated a dark wizard.
Cool! Another new thread!
Voldemort - Dead. Finally. Harry uses power of love in DofM (behind locked door) to defeat LV.
Harry - Will survive. See my comments in thread on who will live Harry or Voldy? for more.
Harry and Ginny will get back together by the end of Book 7.
Ron - Tested a lot more in Book 7. JKR made a point of how Ron had a lot of trouble with the Imperious Curse, so I think LV will put this curse on Ron in Book 7. He'll want to turn Ron into a DE and use Ron to get to Harry. LV could maybe order Ron to kill Hermione and he's finally able to throw off the curse because he loves her.
I think Ron proves himself in battling against DEs.
Ron suffers in Book 7, being Harry's best friend, but survives (I hope!)
Hermione - Helps Harry a lot in figuring out the Horcruxes. But DD said that the more intelligent someone is, the bigger his/her mistakes (he was talking about himself) and I think this will be true of Hermione as well.
Krum will return and will turn out to be a DE. He tries to use Hermione to get to Harry for LV.
I think Hermione will be badly injured in Book 7 but will survive ( I hope! ) and she and Ron will get together FINALLY and permanently in Book 7.
Hagrid - I really hope Hagrid survives and would love to see him live bigger-ever-after with Olympe, but I worry that Hagrid will be killed while trying to protect the trio. I wouldn't be surprised if he is.
Snape - Dies protecting Harry. My guess is that Harry uses occlumency to see Snape's real motives.
Draco - Dies while trying to save his family from LV. LV kills Draco.
Ginny - JKR had her and Harry break up for a reason. I don't think she'll go with the trio on their adventures, but will help out when they are at Hogwarts. She and Harry will get back together in the end. She's a lot like Lily, so yeah, I think she and Harry are meant to be together.
Hogwarts SofWW - Will reopen. Very few students will return at first because parents are so frightened, though Ginny returns. The trio will return to research Horcruxes and because Harry remembers that Dumbledore said he would never be truly gone from Hogwarts until all those who are loyal to him are gone.
I think the locket at Grimmauld Place was the Horcrux locket and that Kreacher took it. Recall Harry sent Kreacher to work at Hogwarts, so one of the Horcruxes is back there, along with DD's portrait (not a Horcrux, but Harry will try and talk to DD).
Also, I do think we'll see the Mirror of Erised and the Ford Anglia again.
Bellatrix - Dead. Neville will do something that results in her death, though it will not be an unforgivable curse.
Neville - Helps the trio out a lot and fights off DEs with Ron. Neville gains a lot of confidence in this book. I do think he'll end up teaching Herbology at Hogwarts.
Luna - I don't think she'll survive. Just when they are all getting to really like (and dare I say it?) understand her a bit, she's killed in battle.
Dean, Parvati, Lavender - Don't return to Hogwarts and we hear nothing more of them. In Lavender's case, I certainly hope so.
Seamus - Returns to Hogwarts for 7th year. May be killed in battle helping trio.
McGonagall - Survives to stay headmistress.
Lupin - Survives and marries Tonks at end of Book 7.
Weasleys - All survive except Percy and perhaps Charlie. Percy ends up dying protecting his family and thus redeems himself as a Gryffindor (never mind as a Weasley).
Whew! Sorry! Got on a roll and couldn't stop.
From the colclusion to book six we all know that Harry is somewhat lacking in the magical combat department. This is something that Rowlings will need to shore up before the last battle theories about the power of love nonwithstanding. Hopefully Harry will come to this realization on his own, however this will require a bit of character development on his part. Harry spent the entirety of book 6 focused on his anti malfoy binge and the lessons with Dumbledore. His actuall schooling and skills were not really worked on, outside of his lying/cheating in potions. The one subject he excels in, DADA, was ignored in a fit of petulance due to his hatred of his teacher. And as we all remember Snape proved himself far superior to Harry in all forms of magic, certainly not in humanity and kindness, although I suspect an unbreakable oath to Dumbledore to see Voldemort fall. I would love to see Harry meet up with R.A.B. for some training before the endgame. He will certainly need enough skill to survive till he can defeat Voldemort with whatever Deus Ex Machina Rowlings happens to employ. I'm not trying to Troll here, but I would like to see some discussion and you can't do that without a second opinion.
khanthemighty
I discussed this with a few friends of mine and they loved it...
...Picking up from the end of the last book, there are four horcruxes left to destroy, one of which Harry gets from the inhertance of the Black Estate...the necklace...Harry destroys this one relatively easily. I say relatively because Kreecher rats Harry out to Voldy, which puts him on alert...
...Now there are only three left, the first of which Hermione finds, guarded by two of Voldy's favorite deatheaters, Lestrange and Malfoy. Harry eventually destroys this one but it will cost him Hermione's life...
...These events incense Ron and Harry, and they track down the sixth Horcrux quickly and destroy it. However, Snape sets a trap with this Horcrux, and Harry barely flees with his life. Ron is not so fortunate...
...While these events are unfolding, Ginny begins to unravel numerous things about Voldy and Harry, mainly from what Harry confided in her, and a quick sneak through the new Headmaster's office, but particularly from Dumbledore's picture...Ginny finds out that Harry is the last Horcrux...
...Ginny searches frantically for Harry, only to find him locked up ina duel with Voldy...Ginny tries to help him, but only raises Voldy's attention to her...Unbeknownst to both of them, Voldy is falling into Harry's own trap. Much in the same way Lily died to save her son, Harry sacrifices himself to save the girl he loves (see, love does conquer all), thus passing on the spell that once protected him from the Avada Cadavera curse. Harry knew since Dumbledore's death that he was the last Horcrux, and his death, and Ginny's protection, would spell Voldy's doom...
...Voldy turns his wand to Ginny, mutters the curse, and destroys himself for good, leaving Ginny alive, with the lightening bolt scar over her heart, to tell the tale...
james pickles
well my theory is, harry will get all the horcruxes but on the last two voldemort will go to harry because he knows what he is doing. dumbledores portrait will help and he will probably give harry advice. i also hate to break it to you all but sirius is dead otherwise harry couldnt give kreacher an order for him to obey if he was.
i think Harry might die in the 7th book...sad, i know. but i do. i was reading the third book earlier and i was thinking about how Professor Trelawney talked about Neville and his grandmother and him dropping the cup. and then i thought about Lavendar and how <i haven't gotten to the part yet; but i know > someone , a pet i think, died. i mean, she was right all those times, will she be right about Harry dying? she did say it was in his future, or did she just mean that someone else was gonna die? (DD) hmm, i don't know. but i do think that he will die....sadly sad.gif
Wow Ginevra Potter your fan fictions are great please keep writing...
In the second part you can talk about what happened to Snape.
But im beggin you please keep writing, because i am h/g & hr/r fan -as i can see- like you. I hope Jk Rowling will write what you wrote.
I thnk so harry will ginny because he still love her.On the other hand hermione and ron have been loving each other since 3th book, i think.
Wow, y'all's theories are fascinating! It's really exciting to read them, and it helps me to formulate my own theories. Speaking of which, Darkest_lord_eve, thank you! I actually am writing more. Have you ever heard of the fan fiction by Bliss? Well, I was reading some of her stuff, and I got excited and decided to write my own version of the seventh book. It is not necessarily what I really think JKR will write, but what I hope she will write. Anyway, that first chapter I posted earlier is just the beginning. I'm on the fourth chapter right now and I'm planning out the fifth and sixth in detail. It'll be fun. I cannot begin to compare myself to JKR, but by writing this project I'm slaking my thirst for her seventh book. It will be interesting to see how right or wrong I am! Anyway, I'll try to post the chapters on here when I finish them and have the time. Most people won't like it, though, because it is very unlikely to actually happen. My friend is doing her version too. I should convince her to post. I read her first chapter and it was really good! Anyway, I'll post my second chapter as soon as I can get a flopy to transfer it to my dad's computer (mine doesn't get the net). Just look for the purple print. biggrin.gif
Sorry for that schpeal. It was kind of about nothing. But I would like to say that I agree that DD is definitely dead. And I believe Harry will definitely die, but not Ron or Hermione. I know I've said this many times, but I thought I'd throw that in.
Cheers!
Harry and Voldemort will both die.
Neither can survive while the other lives, according to the prophesy.
A recurring theme in the 5th and 6th books was Dumbledore teaching Harry that he was unbounded by the prophesy, not limited to his destiny, that the prophesy actually played a limited role in the events. Therefore, most likely the conclusion of the story will be something that defies the prophesy. This means that either Harry and Voldemore are both alive, or they are both dead. Judging by the fact that we all hate Voldemort, and that Rowling wants to please her fans, she'll have Voldemort die, leading me to the conclusion that Harry would die as well.
An interesting way of this happening would be if Harry himself was a Horcrux, then he'd have no choice but to kill himself. The only problem with this theory is that Voldemort is not stupid enough to make his archnemesis a horcrux. It is an unecessary risk. Furthermore, in the 4th book, Voldemort actively seeked to destroy Harry Potter without any hesitation. I hope I am correct in assuming that Voldemort wouldn't want to destroy his own horcrux.
I guess this is such a complicating question. I like the idea of Hagrid dying in the last book as a personal attack against Harry (I dont like it but I can see it happening). Obviously Ginny is going to get dragged into this because Voldemort will find out about Harrys feelings towards her. And like other people have said, I think Voldemort will capture Ginny, as well as Ron, and use them to lure Harry to him. I think in the end Voldemort will bribe him - like he will present Harry with a choice - a choice between them dying and him dying. And I think what will happen is that he will choose for him to die but Pettigrew comes in and stands between them, sacrificing his life and therefore fulfilling the wizarding bond between them. I think Molly Weasly will die also - along with one of the twins.
But, all in all.. the ultimate question ... will Harry die?
The answer to that question ... Yes. I think Harry will. Do you honestly think Harry will want to live after everything hes been through? I believe he will have to kill himself to kill Voldemort. I don't think that has anything to do with Harry being a horcrux - because I don't believe thats so - but I still think there is something there between the forged connection of them both which will mean that both of them will have to die whether they like it or not. So I think what will happen is that Harry will kill Voldemort, and then when everyone thinks all is well, he starts dying as well.
Someone posted a very interesting theory:
QUOTE
...Ginny searches frantically for Harry, only to find him locked up ina duel with Voldy...Ginny tries to help him, but only raises Voldy's attention to her...Unbeknownst to both of them, Voldy is falling into Harry's own trap. Much in the same way Lily died to save her son, Harry sacrifices himself to save the girl he loves (see, love does conquer all), thus passing on the spell that once protected him from the Avada Cadavera curse. Harry knew since Dumbledore's death that he was the last Horcrux, and his death, and Ginny's protection, would spell Voldy's doom...
...Voldy turns his wand to Ginny, mutters the curse, and destroys himself for good, leaving Ginny alive, with the lightening bolt scar over her heart, to tell the tale...
That is very interesting... So interesting that I think I may ponder over that for a while. After reading these forums I have gained many ideas.
This is what I think shall happen to each individual character:
Snape: Will die defending Harry.
Hermione: Will be killed by one of the Death Eaters when attempting to help Harry destroy one of the Horcruxes.
Draco: Will be killed by Lord Voldemort.
Lucius: Will be killed by Lord Voldemort.
Bellatrix: Will be killed either by Neville, Harry or someone in the Order, Lupin perhaps.
Ginny: Will be saved from death from Lord Voldemort by Harry.
Hagrid: Will be killed by either Lucius or Voldemort.
Percy: Will die trying to defend the family, therefore redeeming himself to the family.
Fred: Will die trying to defend the family.
George: Survives the fight for the family but gets gravely injured.
Bill: Will die trying to save Fleur and the rest of the family.
Charlie: Survives
Arthur Wealsey: Survives but is gravely injured in the fight for the Burrow.
Molly Weasley: Dies defending the family.
Lupin: Survives as well as helps Harry to train for and discover the Horcruxes.
Mad Eye Moody: Survives as well as helps Harry to train for and discover the Horcruxes.
Tonks: Survives.
Shacklebot: Survives.
Neville: Will die at the hands of the Death Eaters.
Pettigrew: Dies to save Harry therefore fulfilling their wizarding bond.
Ron: Survives but is gravely injured. I also think in this book Ron will find his strength and courage to help fight beside Harry to the end.
Ginny: Survives. I believe she will play a vital role to Harry's well being and I believe she helps defend the Burrow when it is under attack by the Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. She survives, but is injured and its taken captive by Lord Voldemort into a hide out. When Harry hears of the news that the Burrow has been under attack him and Ron comes back to fall into a trap set by Lord Voldemort.
Harry: Dies unexpectedly after he kills Lord Voldemort.
Voldemort: Dies at the hands of Harry.
Who knows what will happen really? All we can do is use our imagination until the truth is revealed.
Have to change my views on one thing. I'm re-re-reading OoftP and came across the passage where Moody is showing the photo to Harry of the Original Order of the Phoenix.
In the photo are the Longbottoms and Moody says to Harry, "better off dead than what happened to them."
Dumbledore has tried to press on Voldemort that there is something worse than death, which Voldemort choses not to believe.
JKR likes to mention tiny things in passing, that carry big significance later. I have to wonder if Voldemort won't end up like the Longbottoms, more like a living dead.
Just reading that passage it really jumped out at me and I thought, "uh oh, someone is going to end up worse than dead. Hope its Voldemort or Bellatrix and not one of the DADA or Lupin."
Another thing in that same passage, Molly Prewitt's twin brothers Gideon and ??(can't recall) are in the photo and Moody says they both died, but it took five DEs to take Gideon out.
I'm hoping that's not an omen for George and Fred.
I posted a theory several days ago, to which some have pondered and debated...
...Some of the reasons why i believe this theory is plausible are:
...In the books CoS, GoF, and OoftP, we begin to learn more about Voldemort and see that Harry and Voldemort mirror each other in many character traits. Both are very independent, dislike authority, courageous, and prone to fits of rage or revenge.
Voldemort is generations removed from Harry, and really knows nothing about him except what he perceives from circumstantial evidence. The one glaring difference that they share comes out in HBP, in the manner of their parental support. Voldemort had very little, Harry had quite a bit...
...From a nurture/nature standpoint, Harry and Voldemort are instinctively similar, right down to their near-sightedness and impetious nature. However, I do not believe that Voldemort desperately yearns for parental approval, or greatly laments not having his parents love. It may be a sore subject for him, but he has accomplished too much on his own to look back with regret. It is these kind of character traits that lead me to believe that the pentiultimate confrontation between Harry and Voldemort will be more aggressive than passive...
...Voldemort has made just as many missteps as Harry has, and for being the most powerful wizard of all, this doesn't mean that he is the wisest decision maker, nor the greatest thinker in the world. We see examples of brilliant people who lack common sense all the time, and for all we know, Voldemort is no different...
...Voldemort never saw has own demise coming, and would probably not be ble to forsee him leaving a piece of his soul in Harry, making Harry a Horcrux...Dumbledore mentioned that Voldemort's snake could be a horcrux, therefore living beings can be horcruxes...
...Voldemort didn't understand why Prof. Quirrell couldn't touch him, he didn't forsee his and Harry's wand linking up in GoF (nor probably that Harry had a similar wand to his), he didn't know that Harry was in his mind for much of OoftP, or that Harry is a Parseltounge, and even up until now, Voldemort still underestimates and assumes what Harry's next move is going to be...
...Voldemort is as vulernable to Harry as Harry is to him. By the time the seventh book rolls around, Harry will be no stranger to tragedy, singlemindedly focused on revenge, and desperate to finish things once and for all...If you leave Harry nothing on this world to enjoy and live for (so far he has no family, and if things go as I see it, no friends his age) the threat of losing Ginny, would bring about a desparate move like self-sacrifice...therefore, it is truly plausible for my theory to be correct...
...Rowling has been preparing us for the worst for over a decade, killing off people one by one, more important as the books span time. I think that she realizes that even though new readers join her ranks everyday, the core of her fanship is at the age where they can handle death in such a personal way...AND BESIDES, IT IS JUST A FICTIONAL STORY...
...Even in tragedy, there are plenty of lofty morals to find in death. Remembering our loved ones who have passed on, admiring their courage, and learning from our grief to look at present things to find hope are wonderful lessons to pass on, expecially in our current international climate...
I think that Harry is NOT a horcrux. I will try to explain but beware it took a long time to write becasue it is not simple to explain.
First of all, I want oanswer what was said before - Dumbledore makes mistakes but not in life threatening situations and horcruxes are certainly such a case - if Harry don't know that he is a potential horcrux he won't be able to kill Voldy and Dumbledore would not mislead him so.
Now I will come to my theory. I have been thinking what happened when Voldemort tried to kill Harry. It seems Voldemort intended to kill Harry, and produce the final horcrux with this killing. Therefore, there should have been two stages: the killing by the Avada Kedavra curse, and the creation of the sixth horcrux. You cannot start the process of a horcrux before you killed the one you intend to it on as Slughorn says (so James' death would have not been enough). Therefore he couldn't have started creating it before entering Harry's room as has been suggested. I think what actually happened in the attempted killing was a rebounding of the killing curse upon Voldemort, and a "partial accidental horcrux" (I don't know what else to call it but not a real horcrux - I will explain) , of which Voldemort is unaware.
When Voldemort performed the Avada Kedavra curse, his mother's magic love protection came into being, and Harry's scar was created. The killing curse could not therefore, penetrate Harry, but was immediately rejected and rebounded on Voldemort, because of the love protection. Since Voldemort was incapacitated as a result of the killing curse rebounding on him (although he was not killed outright because of his horcruxes, he was nevertheless without a body), he could not perform the spell which would create the horcrux, because you need hands to work with (a soul can't do anything). Instead, although Voldemort's soul was split because of the killing curse, Voldemort could not control what happened to this part of his soul (because he was handless). It, therefore, probably tried to enter Harry along with the killing curse since Harry was closest. This part of Voldemort's soul came into contact with Harry's love-protected scar. The scar acted as a barrier against the killing curse, and the parts of Voldemort's part soul which were entirely evil and could not be taken in and reinforced for good. However, the scar allowed the entrance of those talents and characteristics which can reinforced for good and used to help Harry in future in his dealings against Voldemort, such as Parseltongue. Therefore, although Harry did not remain with all of the part of Voldemort's soul (intended for the horcrux), something of Voldemort's soul remained in Harry. Therefore, an "accidental partial horcrux" was created when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, and Harry will have to get rid of this "partial horcrux" in the end (it is only partial because it wasn't all the entire fraction of Voldemort's soul so it is not really a horcrux - the rest of the soul probably just floated away or went to heaven because just think about it - to have a part of Voldemrt's soul in you is to have total evil within you and Harry could not have functioned - he would have a constant fight inside of him)
After the attempted killing, Harry was protected not only from the entrance of evil into him, but also since the scar was in his very skin, his whole physical body was protected from Voldemort. Voldemort could not touch him without enduring great pain. This physical protection from Voldemort continued until Voldemort used Harry's physical blood to regenerate. At that point Harry lost his physical protection from Voldemort. Indeed, Voldemort thought that Harry's mother's sacrifice only gave Harry this physical protection. I think that Voldemort is unaware that Harry was not only given a physical protection by Harry's mother's sacrificial love, but also a spiritual protection, which would not allow Harry to be penetrated by those evil parts of Voldemort's part soul (which would otherwise have penetrated Harry with the attempted killing), but only by what could be reinforced by good, and eventually be used against Voldemort himself, such as Parseltongue. Voldemort is not capable of even thinking that Harry's mother could have protected Harry through love from evil from a spiritual perspective, since Voldemort is utterly convinced that the magic of love cannot triumph over evil. This lack of understanding will prove to be Voldemort's undoing as Dumbledore so rightly envisioned in Book 4.
Another aspect concerning Voldemort's failure to understand Harry's mother's spiritual love protection is that now that he has taken Harry's blood (and can physically touch Harry without feeling pain), it may be that Voldemort is now vulnerable to destruction if he receives back from Harry that very small part of his soul, which entered Harry via the scar and remained inside of Harry reinforced by good, namely, Parseltongue, and perhaps a few other characteristics. In other words, if Harry performs the Avada Kedavra curse in the future on Voldemort, Harry's soul will split, and hopefully, his scar will still be working to protect Harry spiritually from evil. In this case, if the scar continues to protect Harry, it means that when Harry's soul splits, the scar will only let out of Harry the small part of Voldemort's soul in Harry, which was incorporated into Harry for good – i.e. Parseltongue and perhaps some other characteristics. Hopefully the scar will prevent the exit of all parts of Harry's original soul, so that Harry's soul will remain whole and intact even after killing Voldemort. According to this explanation, the scar is not only a barrier from the penetration of evil from Voldemort, it is also a barrier from the departure of good from Harry. This small part of Voldemort's soul reinforced for good will be returned to Voldemort, and perhaps be joined with Harry's good blood inside Voldemort. Both of these – the spiritual good and the physical good (soul and body), which have entered Voldemort, inspired by the sacrificial love of a mother, will perhaps in some way combine forces and fight the evil in Voldemort, and help destroy him, even if the Avada Kedavra curse cannot triumph on its own for some reason and kill Voldemort outright (without some assistance).
A possible proof for the above hypothesis may be found at the end of the fifth book. Voldemort tried to possess Harry, but his evil soul together perhaps with some form of his physical body, which Harry felt at the possession, could not bear the pain of trying to possess a soul and body – Harry's – which are full of goodness and love. Maybe it can work also the other way – i.e., if part of Harry's body (the blood which Voldemort took at the end of the 4th book) and Harry's soul (which was really originally part of Voldemort's soul – Parseltongue, etc., but influenced by Harry's goodness) end up inside of Voldemort, maybe together they will be able to finish Voldemort off.
If indeed Harry can return to Voldemort the small part of his soul remaining in Harry when performing the Avada Kedavra curse, the final "accidental horcrux" will be destroyed, and Voldemort will die, without Harry having to die.
It seems to me that JK Rowling will want Harry to remain alive, with Voldemort dead, because otherwise, how will it be proven that love is stronger than evil?! Otherwise, how will it be proven that good triumphs over evil?!
After killing Voldemort, Harry will no longer be able to speak Parseltongue and he will no longer have the characteristics received from Voldemort. Harry will only be left with those talents and characteristics which he originally inherited from his parents. Also, after Voldemort's death, it seems that Harry will have no more need of his scar, which was created through a mother's sacrificial love as a protection from her evil killer, Voldemort – so Harry's scar will disappear.
It seems to me, as a result of the fifth book, that the final confrontation with Voldemort will take place in the locked room at the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic. Probably love can triumph over evil only when surrounded by love, as in that locked room (in that room, the magic of love must be all around, since that room seems to be where the magic of love is being thoroughly investigated and experimented with).
Thank you for reading up till now. I will be waiting to hear from you.
Wow, that was some really deep thinking in the previous two posts. I really enjoyed it. Especially the later. However, now don't jump down my throat for this, but I disagree.
I simply don't think that Harry is in any way a horcrux. There implies in HBP time to create a full horcrux, and I don't think that any part of Vm's actual soul infected Harry. It is a very intriguing theory, though.
Alright, I said I would post the next chapter when I got the chance. This one is considerably longer, so I'm sorry for that. But, and you may not see it until I get further into my version of the seventh book, but I feel that all of it is relevant to what we're discussing. Actually, some of you have given me really good ideas, so thank you.
Chapter 2
The Wedding
The suffocating vacuum of apparating dissipated as the cool night materialized in front of Harry and Ginny, who were feeling slightly windswept. All was quiet for a moment, and then Ron burst out.
“Finally! What took you so long? We’ve been waiting here for at least fifteen minutes. I was a just about to come after you lot.”
“Oh,” said Harry, realizing he had no excuse to give. “We were...”
“There’s no need to tell us,” said Hermione hastily. “We get the picture.” Harry became very thankful for the darkness, which masked his reddened face.
“It’s a pity we couldn’t have apparated into the house,” said Ginny. “Mum’s guaranteed to catch me. That blasted clock knows everything.” She was referring to the clock in the Weasley Kitchen that told where ever family member was, rather than the time
“Yes, but all of our hands have been pointing at “mortal peril” since You-Know-Who came into the open. So no need to worry, eh?” Ron pointed out.
“Guess again, Ronnykins.”
All four of them jumped out of their skins at the sound of a fifth voice, which laughed joyously at their reaction. Fred and George stepped into their range of vision.
“You two,” Ron said angrily. “When I get my hands on you-“
“Save it,” Fred interrupted. “Mum’s gone ballistic. She’s been worried sick about you three arriving so late. And as for Ginny...” he turned to her, “I suggest you volunteer to do our chores for about a month.”
“Why? Mum will just assign them to me anyway when I get in there.”
“No she won’t, because she doesn’t know. We’ll stick up for you, of course, but it will require your services...” George said.
“No, thanks. I think I can handle myself.” She said in a very final tone.
“Suit yourself,” he shrugged. “We gave you a chance.” The twins turned around and headed toward the house.
“Those two,” said Ginny, brow furrowed. “Er, I’d better get inside. I’ll sneak around back. See you in the morning!” She gave Harry’s hand a warm squeeze and stalked off into the darkness.
“Come on. If Mum is already worried, we’d better get there quick as we can.” Ron marched ahead of the other two across the yard to the front door. As soon as they stepped onto the doorstep the lights in the kitchen flicked on and there was a muffled scream.
“You’re here!” Mrs. Weasley cried, ushering them inside and hugging them each in turn. “Oh we missed you! And where have you been? You were supposed to be here hours ago! I’ve been worried sick!” She threw her arms around Ron and held him tightly.
“Mum, I can’t breathe!” He exclaimed.
“Oh, sorry dear.” She said, letting him go a little reluctantly. “So,” she said, looking at all three of them, “Did you have a strong desire to scare me half to death, or are you just fashionably late?” she asked accusingly.
“We didn’t even get your letter until a few hours ago!” Ron said defensively.
“And why on earth didn’t you leave then?” Mrs. Weasley said, hands on her hips.
“Well...” Ron began.
Harry tried to help. “We, er....”
“They had stayed up all night the night before playing Exploding Snap,” Hermione cut in, giving the boys an exasperated look. “They wanted a few hours sleep.”
“Ah, I see.” said Mrs. Weasley. “Well, in that case, it’s off to bed with you. We’ve got a big day tomorrow, what with the wedding and all, so I want you to get some sleep.” As they started shuffling up the stairs, Mrs. Weasley called after them quietly. “And be quiet up there. Fred and George are sleeping in your room, Ron, and Ginny is in hers.”
“And I’m sure they’re all sleeping right now,” Ron muttered sarcastically.
“We also have a guest, so don’t talk! Just go to bed. Bed!” Mrs. Weasley added, seeing Ron open his mouth to say something.
They marched quietly up the stairs, not speaking to each other. It had just hit Harry how tired he was. He dragged his feet to the top level of the house, where Ron’s room rested precariously. He and Ron said goodnight to Hermione, and they stumbled into the room. Fred and George were snoring loudly, so they said nothing as they crawled into bed. As soon as Harry’s head hit the pillows, he felt his consciousness slipping and appreciatively fell asleep.
He was walking in a forest; it was dark and quiet. As he moved further in, he began to hear voices. Voices that were very familiar to him.
“Harry, I can’t believe you could do such a thing.” It sounded like Hermione. “We trusted you for years, and you went off and did this!”
“What?” Harry asked. “What did I do?”
Ron’s voice floated to his ears. “You killed Cedric.”
“No! It wasn’t my fault!” Harry shouted, whirling around, looking for his friends. But only their voices came to him, haunting him in the depths of the forest.
“Yes it was!” interrupted Hermione. “And Sirius. All your fault.”
“It was an accident!” Harry cried out. “I didn’t mean for it to happen!”
“But it did.”
“No! I-“
“And now,” came Ginny’s voice, completely disgusted, “now you’ve killed Dumbledore. I can’t believe you. I never want to see you again, you monster!”
“Ginny!” Harry called out. “Ginny, no! I didn’t. Please! Ron! Hermione! I- I’m sorry!”
“Sorry is not good enough, you bloody murderer!” the voice echoed throughout the forest.
Harry ran, trying to get away from the voices. Branches whipped across his face as he sprinted into a clearing. Suddenly, he stopped dead.
High above him, staining the starry sky, was an emerald green skull with a snake protruding out of its mouth. The Dark Mark. He looked wildly around him. He was standing amongst bodies, all pale and lifeless. When he stepped closer to see who they were he gasped. Hermione was lying dead on the ground. He backed away from her and tripped, falling to the earth. He turned to see what he had tripped over, and he found himself staring into Ron’s lifeless eyes. Scrambling to his feet, he realized that everyone he cared for was in this clearing, all of them dead. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. Fred. George. Lupin. Neville. Luna. Ginny....
“NO!” Harry screamed, falling to his knees in anguish. “Who did this?” he yelled into the night. A high, cold voice laughed softly in his ear.
“Come, Harry. Come and finish what we started,” it cackled.
Suddenly Harry’s scar seared with pain, blinding him completely. It was pain beyond imagining. He felt sick and dizzy. He just wanted to let go and die....
Harry! HARRY!”
His eye’s snapped open. He was drenched in sweat and clutching his scar, which was burning painfully. Breathing heavily, Harry tried to make sense of the blurry shapes swimming across his vision.
Harry!”
Ron’s pale face came into view, shaking him awake. Fred and George were on the other side of him, looking alarmed. Harry suddenly felt very sick and retched over the side of the bed.
“Watch it!” said George, stepping back.
Trembling uncontrollably, Harry grimaced and swallowed heavily. “S-sorry.” He wiped his mouth on his sleeve and tried to get up. He was pushed back down, for which he felt grateful. His scar was still throbbing.
The door to the bedroom burst open, and Mrs. Weasley, Hermione, and Ginny came filing in.
“What happened?” Mrs. Weasley demanded, assessing the scene, and rushing to Harry’s bedside, feeling his forehead.
“He-he was muttering in his sleep,” Ron began.
“Something about it being all his fault,” Fred interrupted.
”And then he started having a fit, clutching his scar,” George finished.
“Well,” said Mrs. Weasley, “You don’t have a fever. Are you alright, Harry dear?”
Harry started to nod his head, but had to stop quickly for fear it might fall off. “I just... had a bad dream. That’s all.”
“That must have been some bad dream, to make you react like that,” said George disbelievingly.
“Yeah, do all bad dreams make you’re scar hurt?” asked Fred.
Harry frowned as he thought for a moment, still trembling a bit. “No, actually. It... It usually doesn’t,” he said, rubbing his forehead absently. “It hasn’t done that for more than a year.”
“Yes, didn’t Professor Dumbledore say that Voldemort was practicing Occlumency against you?” asked Hermione, while all of the Weasleys winced at the sound of the name.
“Yeah,” said Harry, sitting up, this time to no objections. “He... he didn’t want me in his head. He didn’t want me to see his plans.” Everyone around him suddenly paled, looking more worried than before.
“You don’t think You-Know-Who is trying to do you in through your dreams again...” said Ron uncertainly. “Do you?”
“Harry, what was your dream about?” asked Ginny.
He looked around at them all. He really ought to tell them, he knew that. They had all been in it, anyway. But you can’t, said a voice in his head. They’ll never look at you the same way again.
“I... I don’t remember,” said Harry, looking away. They all stared at him, as if to say, “I can’t believe you’re trying to pull that on us. We know you still remember.”
“Come on, Harry, you can tell us!” Fred cajoled.
“No, really, my scar hurt so bad I kind of blocked it out, I guess,” said Harry, trying to sound as casual as possible.
They all looked at him curiously. Mrs. Weasley pressed a little further. “Are you sure, Harry?”
He looked into her eyes for a moment, wishing he could tell her, but he couldn’t. Speaking it aloud would make it too real.
“Yeah,” he lied. “I’m sure.”
“Well,” said Mrs. Weasley in a tone as if to say there was nothing more to it. “That’s that. Ron, if you will please-“
“What about Harry’s scar, though?” asked George. “That only hurts when it has something to do with You-Know-Who, right Harry?”
Harry touched it gingerly. The pain was gone now, but it had hurt so much a moment ago that he wanted to be careful. “Yeah,” he replied. “But I wouldn’t worry too much about it,” he said, trying to shrug it off. He looked around for a clock. “What time is it?”
Fred looked at his watch. “Five thirty in the morning.”
Mrs. Weasley gasped. “Is it really?” She rushed to the door. “I’ve got to start breakfast! Will someone wake the others? How they slept through this commotion, I don’t know, but we need to get to work!” She opened the door and stepped out, then popped her head back in for a moment. “Harry dear, you can sleep a little longer. You’ve had a rough night.”
“That’s alright Mrs. Weasley,” said Harry, hurrying out of bed. “I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep now anyway.” He said quickly before she could protest.
“Alright then. You lot,” she commanded to the group as a whole, “downstairs. We’ll eat breakfast and then get to work. We need this house spotless before the rest of the guests arrive.”
Ginny yawned particularly loudly as she made her way toward the door.
“Oh Mum, can I get a few minutes more sleep?” she pleaded.
“Why are you so tired?” asked Mrs. Weasley, raising one eyebrow. “You went to bed early last night!”
“Oh, I... er...” said Ginny, blushing slightly, and glancing at Harry. Mrs. Weasley followed her gaze. Harry tried his best to look politely puzzled, so she wouldn’t suspect.
“I don’t know what’s going on here, but you are not going to have a lie in today. There is too much to do!” said Mrs. Weasley. They all shuffled downstairs, completely forgetting about Harry’s dream as they thought about the day ahead. They arrived in the kitchen and sat at the table as Mrs. Weasley bustled about the room making breakfast. The others in the house arrived shortly afterward: Mr. Weasley, Bill, Charlie, and a man with dark brown hair that Harry didn’t recognize, and who stifled a yawn, asking, “What’s for breakfast?”
Bill introduced him. “Harry, I’d like you to meet my old school mate, Jeremiah Fust,” Bill said, ushering the man forward. “He’s to be the justice of the peace at our wedding.“
“Hello, Harry. Pleased to meet you,” said Jeremiah, shaking Harry’s hand and grinning.
“Hi, Jeremiah” Harry replied back.
“Please call me Jer.”
“And you met Hermione last night...” Bill said, gesturing to Harry and Ron’s bushy haired friend.
“Echanté mademoiselle.” Jer did a kind of over done bow in Hermione’s direction. She blushed and waved back.
“And of course, you’ve met my family...”
“Only known ‘em my whole life,” Jeremiah smiled. The rest of the Weasleys nodded in agreement, greeting him as another member of the family.
“There’s a spot for you here, Jer,” said Fred, shoving Ron aside.
“Hey!” grumbled Ron, spilling porridge down his front.
“Oh don’t be such a sissy, Ronnykins,” said Fred, vanishing the stain lazily with his wand, and patting the now vacant space next to him. “Come on, Jer.”
They all gathered around the table awkwardly (there were so many of them), discussing various things through stuffed cheeks. Harry was content to listen to all the different ones, rather than pitch in.
“So then I said, “ Charlie was saying excitedly from down the table, “’I don’t give a flying Hippogriff!’ The man was so scared of me that he ran all the way down the street in his underwear! Needless to say, he never bothered me again,” He finished, forking some more bacon into his mouth.
Fred and Ron were in a heated argument about a fantastic wizard chess game they’d played nine years ago.
“I won, remember? I took you’re knight when you checked me!”
“No,” said Ron hotly, “I would never give you such a good set up. Face it; you’ve never beaten me at a chess game in your life! Right Dad?”
But Mr. Weasley was engrossed in a story Jeremiah was telling about a Muggle transaction he’d held in Madrid.
“...I tried to tell them I didn’t speak Spanish, but of course, they couldn’t understand me. So I attempted to use my own version of sign language. Pretty soon I had those policemen all over me, shouting, ‘Él es loco! Él es loco!’ I modified their memories and apparated out of there as quick as possible. But I still didn’t get my package!”
Mrs. Weasley was still fussing about Bill’s hair.
“Please just let me give it a nice trim! It’s your wedding day! You ought to smart yourself up a bit!”
“No, Mum!” said Bill, ducking away from Mrs. Weasley’s wand. “If my fiancée likes it, why should you care? Besides, I can’t smart myself up when I’ve got these scars all over my face!” he said. Bill’s face was still slightly disfigured from a werewolf attack he’d sustained a few weeks ago.
“But-“
Harry didn’t hear Mrs. Weasley’s reply, however, because he had just caught something Hermione was whispering to Ginny two seats up.
“I’m worried Ginny!” Hermione said desperately. “If his scar is hurting again-“
“Shh! He’s right there!” They both gave him a shifty glance, and he quickly looked away, pretending to be very interested in his pumpkin juice. Satisfied, Hermione turned back to Ginny.
“Ginny, if You-Know-Who is trying to get at his head again, he needs to practice Occlumency! He is so stubborn that he won’t listen to anyone. You’re the only one who can convince him!”
“I’m not going to make him do something he doesn’t want to do,” said Ginny defiantly.
That’s my girl, Harry thought, smiling to himself. You tell her.
“But Ginny, this is more important than what he does or does not want to do! This is his own safety we are talking about! Or have you forgotten what happened what happened last time Voldemort fed him messages through his dreams? He nearly died! Have you forgotten that?”
“No,” said Ginny, sounding a little more subdued. “No, I haven’t forgotten.”
They were quiet for a moment, and then Hermione gently asked, “So... will you talk to him?”
Ginny sighed. “Yes, I’ll talk to him tonight.”
Harry felt very betrayed by this and didn’t listen to anyone else’s conversations much after that. Soon all the food was consumed and everybody stood, ready to begin preparations for the wedding. They were assigned chores and split up to complete them. Doing various tasks to straighten up the place proved to be fairly easy since all but Ginny were now able to use magic. All they had to do was clip the hedges outside, as well as set up chairs in the yard out back. They also had to dust the family room, sweep the floor, and do the dishes. Fred and George spent quite a lot of time teasing the ghoul in the attic, whom they were supposed to be persuading to keep quiet for the next few hours, for which they were reprimanded by Mrs. Weasley. But all in all, they had quite a lot of fun with their work, enjoying each other’s company and the interesting discussions.
While Harry and Ron were peeling potatoes, Harry asked, “So what is the difference between a Muggle wedding and a Wizard wedding?”
“Oh not much, I suppose,” said Ron casually. “Everything’s the same, except that it’s all magicked.”
“Magicked? How so?” Harry asked.
“You know, self-refilling bottles of butterbeer, fairies lighting the isle, that sort of thing. I think you’ll find this wedding to be quite normal, otherwise.”
A flowery voice with a French accent came from the back door. “Normal? Non non non! My wedding? Ce n’est pas normal!”
Harry and Ron stopped what they were doing and turned to the door, watching Fleur Delacour let herself into the Burrow. Bill ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Fleur!” he exclaimed, throwing his arms around her. “I haven’t seen you in weeks! You weren’t supposed to get back from France for another few hours!”
“I know,” she said, glowing up at Bill, “But I couldn’t stay zere anuzzer moment wizzout you. Besides, my parents wanted to meet everyone.”
A couple had shuffled in behind Fleur, completely unnoticed by anyone. They looked very stylish in matching silk robes of a delicate sea foam blue. Shyly, a little girl walked through the door behind them. As she looked around the room, she spotted Harry and beamed. Harry grinned back. He had met Fleur’s little sister, Gabrielle, about two and a half years ago at Hogwarts when he had rescued her from the lake during the second task of the Triwizard Tournament.
“Hi, Gabrielle,” said Harry pleasantly.
She hid herself behind her mother and called softly, “Bonjour, ‘arry.”
He and Ron laughed lightly at her timid manner, but were interrupted by Fleur’s introductions.
“’Arry, Ron, zees are my parents, Jacques and Geneviève Delacour.”
“Bonjour,” said Monsieur Delacour. Fleur’s mother simply nodded.
“Forgive zem. Zey aren’t very good with English yet,” she added before continuing. “And of course, you have both met my sister, Gabrielle....”
Harry and Ron nodded; Gabrielle hid further behind her mother.
“Well,” said Fleur, turning back to her parents, “I suppose I ought to introduce you to everyone else. Come, Bill. Let’s show zem around.”
The group shuffled out of the kitchen and Harry and Ron went back to peeling the potatoes for that evening’s feast.
As the day wore on, more people continued to arrive. Many of Bill’s old schoolmates filtered in early in the afternoon. A few of Fleur’s old girlfriends from Beauxbatons came and went straight into the house to help Fleur get ready. Madam Maxime showed up not long after. Professor McGonagall arrived early enough to help with the decorations. Lupin and Tonks turned up hand-in-hand in the early evening. Percy had finally swallowed a little of his pride and decided to show, bringing Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour along with him. (Harry carefully avoided him. Their previous confrontations had led Harry to dislike the man quite a lot.) At six o’clock Mrs. Weasley ushered everyone upstairs to get changed into something a bit nicer, and then they met all of the guests out in the garden. By six thirty everyone was seated and the wedding was about to begin.
Sitting between Ron and Ginny, Harry goggled at all of the amazing decorations. There were fountains around the garden that frothed various drinks, including wine, butterbeer, and pumpkin juice. The fairy lights Ron had described were everywhere, not just along the isle, twinkling in the diminishing evening light. There were even wood nymphs playing joyous melodies while Jeremiah Fust stepped to the front and called for everyone’s attention.
“Ahem. Thank you. Please take your seats, as we are about to begin. “
Everyone got very quiet turned their attention to Jer. He cleared his throat again as he looked around.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Witches and Wizards, we are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Fleur and Bill. Speaking of which, Bill will you please come to the front? I’m trying to marry you, here.” Jer gestured for Bill, who was talking animatedly to an old buddy from Gringotts, to come up to the front. Everyone laughed as Bill rolled his eyes and made his way to where Jer was standing.
“All right. That’s better,” said Jer, grinning at his friend. “And now, with out further ado, let the procession begin!”
The would nymphs struck a happy tune, and everyone turned to look at the house. Emerging from the back door was Gabrielle, wearing light pink robes, carrying a basket of flower petals, and stepping to the rhythm of the music. She walked down the isle and began to daintily toss the petals around her. Harry’s eyes bugged out when he saw that the petals never hit the ground. They had apparently been charmed to float about a foot above it, making it look as if there was some sort of flowery mist around their feet.
When Gabrielle arrived at the front there was a great BANG! and everyone whirled around in time to see the best man (who was Charlie) and the maid of honor fly gracefully over them on brooms and land gently next to Jeremiah. When they had dismounted the music changed to be louder and more ceremonious. There was a great rumbling from behind them, and the audience turned to see a horseless coach carrying the bride and her father, flying down the isle. The coach parked itself in the front, and Fleur’s father got out, helping Fleur out after him.
Fleur was, and rightfully so, the most beautifully dressed one of all. She was wearing the most elegant robes, which were as white as a unicorn’s and embroidered with gold. She was bedecked with gobs of jewelry, which glimmered in the evening light. Her hair was in tight curls all the way down her back and a magnificent goblin made tiara, loaned to her by Mrs. Weasley’s Great Aunt Muriel, rested upon her head.
“Well then,” said Jer, grinning at them all as the music stopped playing. “Now that we are all here, let us begin.” He took a gigantic book from the table behind him, and turned it’s pages until he’d found the correct place.
“Hem, hem. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here on this beautiful day to.... You know what?” he asked the crowd. “Let’s forget the book and get this over with. You two clearly love each other, and I don’t want to keep you waiting a moment longer.” He snapped the book shut and tossed it behind him carelessly.
Fleur turned to Bill, looking alarmed.
Jeremiah seemed to understand, and said, “Don’t worry, Fleur. I’m not going to ruin your wedding. On the contrary, I’m going to make it more interesting.
“Okay. Bill, do you love Fleur?”
Bill looked slightly taken aback. “Er- yes.”
“Good.” He turned to Fleur. “Fleur, do you love Bill?”
“But of course!”
“And do you two want to get married?”
They both nodded hesitantly, not sure what he was going to do next. Jeremiah smiled. “Brilliant! By the power vested in me by some place or another, I now pronounce you husband and wife! Now hurry up and kiss her, Bill, so I can go and eat your mum’s delicious meal.” Everyone laughed, and Bill didn’t waste anytime. He swept Fleur off her feet and carried her back down the isle.
Everyone began to chat happily and made their way over to the buffet table. Harry was very hungry, so he and Ginny quickly grabbed some food and started to head toward the others. But before they could get there Ginny grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
“We need to talk,” she said very seriously.
Harry sighed. Ever since he had overheard her and Hermione’s discussion that morning he’d been dreading this. However, he let her steer him out of earshot of everyone else. They settled themselves down behind some bushes before she spoke.
“Harry, I know you don’t want to talk about it, but you need to be straight with me,” she said, staring deep into his eyes. She took a deep breath. “What happened in that nightmare last night?”
Harry sighed and closed his eyes, rubbing his temples gently. “Ginny, please. Not right now. I don’t want-“
“This is not a matter of what you do or do not want to do,” she said fiercely, and Harry noticed that she stated it almost verbatim from what Hermione had said earlier. “Do you remember why you tried to break up with me a few weeks ago? It was because you loved me and you wanted to make sure I was safe. And now I’m asking you to tell me the truth because I love you and I want to be sure you’re safe. You can save the world as many times as you want, Harry, but I know that you will never be willing to save yourself.” She let out a sigh. She had said that all as if she’d been rehearsing it all day.
At first Harry felt anger well up inside of him. Who was she to talk to him about nightmares and saving people after all he’d been through over the past few years? But then he realized that she was trying her best not to provoke him and he relaxed.
“Ginny.... I don’t want to tell you because...” He struggled to put it into words. “Because... I’m afraid the dream will come true.” He looked away, the memory of her lifeless body under the Dark Mark still haunting him.
“Oh Harry,” she said gently, taking his face in her hands and turning him to her. “You know you can tell me anything, right? Absolutely anything.”
“Yes,” said Harry solemnly. “I know.”
She smiled slightly. “Good,” she said, relaxing and leaning back. “Now tell me what you dreamt.”
He told her everything, leaving no details out. He was surprised at how much he remembered from it. The picture seemed clearer in his mind than it did this morning. He told her all that he could recall, and she sat back and listened to him.
”...And then another voice whispered in my ear, Voldemort’s, saying something about coming and finishing what we started. Then my scar hurt and I woke up.”
Ginny was quiet for a moment, apparently pondering what she had just heard. Then she spoke. “How much?”
Harry stared at her, confused. “How much what?”
She sighed. “How much did your scar hurt?”
“Oh,” said Harry, thinking back. “A lot. It hasn’t hurt that much since... well, since Voldemort tried to possess me at the Ministry about a year ago.” He turned to her. “Why?”
She looked at him patiently. “Because, Harry, if your scar hurt that much, it shows that You-Know-Who has grown dramatically in strength, and can now hurt you greatly without being anywhere near you. There is only one way to solve it. You must-“
“-practice Occlumency,” he finished for her. “Yes, I know.”
She gaped at him in shock. He smiled grimly. “I overheard you and Hermione at the breakfast table.”
To his great surprise, Ginny clobbered him over the head.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“That,” she said matter-of-factly, “was for making me worry all day about what I was going to say to you, when you already knew what I was going to ask! Why didn’t you interrupt me or something?”
“Well,” said Harry, rubbing the lump on his head and grinning, “I thought, since you’d made such an effort to think about me all day, and everything...”
“Oh yes, go ahead and flatter yourself. I’ll get you back for this, you just wait....”
From across the yard they heard Mrs. Weasley say, “Has anyone seen Harry? Or Ginny, for that matter?”
Harry and Ginny stood up abruptly. Harry whispered in Ginny’s ear, “Does your mum know about... er... us?”
“Not a chance,” she replied quietly.
“Why don’t you want her to know?” Harry asked, surprised.
“Oh, I don’t know. Mum would have a fit, for one. And it just wouldn’t be the same around here. Besides, I kind of like dealing in secret. Don’t you?” She winked up at him.
“No, actually, I don’t,” replied Harry. “Because then I couldn’t do this.” He grabbed her and kissed her right then and there. She was so shocked, she didn’t even protest. When he let go of her, she looked around.
“Are you mad? That’s just what I didn’t want you to do! You are lucky no one saw us, or I’d-“
“Or you’d what?”
They both whirled around to see Mrs. Weasley glaring at them with her hands on her hips, tapping her foot impatiently on the ground.
There you are. Sorry the paragraphs aren't indented. I'll post the next part in a few days. Tell me what you thought! Just so you know, this is my rough draft. Don't be too brutal. Also, this isn't necessarily how I think JKR will write it. This is just the best I could come up with.
Well... Cheers! biggrin.gif
Umm guys, y'all are drifting off-topic. This thread is for discussing how you think the series will come to an end.
If you want to discuss whether Harry is a Horcrux or not, please do so here.
Now back on topic, folks!!
Ginevra Potter
Uh, sorry. Didn't mean to stray off topic.
I have a question about Hagrid dying in the end. I'm not trying to sound accusatory, I just don't know for sure what I think, so I'm asking all of you. How would Hagrid die, in your opinion, if you think he's going to? Because he has that giant blood that protects him from magic. Would he get bludgeoned by a long lost giant cousin or what?
Also, how do you think Harry will destroy the horcruxes? Because DD never told him how. I have a theory, but I'd like to hear yours.
And also, if you think Harry will kill Voldemort (as you ought to rolleyes.gif ), then how will Harry do it? Will he use Avada Kedavra? or will he not even kill him by magic, and beat Vm with Gryffindor's sword or something? (That would be poetic. Vm doesn't even die by magic, but in a muggle way, which he hates so much.) And what of DD saying that there are things worse than death? Do you think Vm will not die, but something worse? Or (and this is what I think) will Harry take advantege of Vm's worst fear (death) and let him have it?
Sorry about asking so many questions. I'm just trying to get us to think deeper than we have been, like restating over and over again who we think will die and why. What say ye?
Cheers!
MAJOR HALF BLOOD PRINCE SPOILERS IN THIS POST*****
I was going back through Order of the Phoenix and something really struck me. Two things, actually.
In Chapter 9, page 175, Moody shows Harry the photo of the Original Order of the Phoenix. The rundown on who is in the photo seems eerie, considering how many of them were dead in OoftP, or who died in HBP.
Will these other original members also die? Is the photo a clue of what's to come and who is to snuff it?
Here's the rundown of who is in the photo, per Moody:
Moody
Dumbledore - killed in HBP
Dedalus Digle
Marlene McKinnon - killed 2 weeks after photo was taken
Frank & Alice Longbottom (see note below)
Emmeline Vance - killed in HBP
Lupin
Benjy Fenwick - "he copped it, too. We only ever found bits of him."
Edgar Bones - "they got him and his whole family."
Amelia Bones - killed in HBP
Sturgis Podmore
Caradoc Dearborn - "vanished six months after this was taken. Never found his body."
Hagrid
Elphias Doge
Gideon Prewitt - Took five Death Eaters to kill him and his brother, Fabian, they fought like hereos..." (Molly Weasley's twin brothers)
Aberforth Dumbledore "...strange bloke."
Dorcas Meadows - "Voldemort killed her personally."
Sirius - killed in OoftP
*Longbottoms, right before this on page 175, Moody says of the Longbottoms, "Poor devils," growled Moody. "Better dead than what happened to them..."
Maybe that is the answer to what is worse than death?
Look at how many were already dead and how many died in HBP. Is this a foreshadowing?
Another interesting thing, in this same chapter (9) on page 170 Tonk's "hair was tomato-red and waist length today; she looked like Ginny's older sister."
Whoa! So, does Lupin snuff it and Tonks ends up marrying one of Ginny's brothers? Would that be Charlie? Percy? Or do Fleur and Bill break up and Ginny's wish about Bill marrying Tonks comes true?
Recall Ron also made a comment about how no one would notice Tonks with Fleur around (that's also in the same chapter, it was a busy chapter).
What do you think?
Ginevra Potter
Interesting idea, PigWithHair. Perhaps someone even found a copy of the photo and is using it as some sort of hit list. I don't know. But you forgot a couple people. THE POTTERS! Sorry. I had too mention that. And wasn't Wormtail part of the Order, too? I'm not sure about that one. Anyway, blah blah blah.
Cheers!
PigWithHair
Actually, you're right and James, Lily and Pettigrew were in the photo. They were mentioned after the list I quoted from.
Well, James and Lily we know about. Frankly, I'm hoping Pettigrew doesn't survive book 7. Remeber Ron stepping on the rat's skull in CofS?
Hmm...
xXhApOcHiCxX
I tihnk it will all end in harry dying and taking voldy with him. The books are going to be finished so i think she will finally just kill everybody off. Even though she has started to since the 4th bokk to the 6th book.
Ginevra Potter
I think Voldemort will die, and Harry will die right afterward. But I don't think it is because JKR feels obligated to kill everybody off. Writers don't work like that. That has probably been her plan from the begining. In my opinion, from the way things are going, Harry will welcome death. Perhaps when DD said that there were things worse than death he wasn't talking to Vm necessarily. Perhaps he was talking to Harry. He was trying to tell him that people would die all around him, including DD himself, and that it wasn't as bad as it seemed. And ultimately, DD was saying that when Harry's task was done, it was okay to let go of this earthly existence and move on to dwell with his loved ones. It is only fair to Harry to die after the job is done, becaus he will have nothing else to live for and so many of his loved ones will reside beyond the veil. After all Harry's been through, it would be such a relief to just let go.
Anywho, that's just an idea. Something to back up the feeling of foreboding I'm getting that Harry will die. Sorry. That sounds so dark and sinister. So I mean it when I say...
Cheers!
Davy
I got many outcomes.
Harry kills Voldemort
Dumbledore helps Harry kill Voldemort and Dumbledore and Voldemort actually both die. Dumbledores alive, oh yes wink.gif
A huge fight agains the Death Eaters, the Dark Lord, and all the following creaturessuch as giants, dementors, and werewolves fighting Order of the pheonix, maybe the DA of Hogwarts, and a whole bunch of good wizards with the Ministry. Just a huge fight.
The last one which i don't believe and won't happen in my opinion but itmight is Harry and Voldemort both die.
mordechai
OK, this idea is completely out of left field, and I do not necessarily believe this, but these books have had several overall themes. The main, obviously being the battle between good and evil (Harry and Voldemort, respectively), Harry and his friends (and enemies as well growing up and maturing), and Harry and his friends going through difficult times together, and coming out still friends. This last one, while somewhat obscure, can be found at some point in all 6 books to date. Be it Ron being jealous of Harry in GoF or Ron and Hermione not talking for a good portion of HBP, to name a few. I have been wondering, "While this hasn't been harped on, or overbearingly force-fed to us, could it be very important to the ending of this book?" Harry, Ron and Hermione. I think that they are going to have to somehow work together, but on a whole new level unseen in previous installments. A general consensus amongst people that I know that read these books, is that they don't see (or want to see Harry becoming a "murderer" (ie, killing Voldy)) but we know one of them has to die. I am not saying that it won't be Harry, I just don't think that it will be. I think that perhaps Ron and Hermione actually kill him. Or just one of them or whatever, but I don't think that Harry is going to pull the proverbial trigger.
Again, I can't say that I believe this theory of mine, but I just thought of it while reading the forums, and thought that I would post it, and let you have at it :S
nematoda
i do want voldemort get killed (by harry of course) at the end but i can't stand it if harry should sacrifice himself in doing so. it will be not fair for ginny because i am happy for both of them. but it will not be very interseting if harry managed to finish voldemort without having difficulty at doing so. how about voldemort get killed and harry just barely survived? ginny and the other weasleys and hermione taking care of him after the horror things that happened.
pattyogreen555
I would really hope that Harry wouldn't die, but JKR may surprise us all!! I'd really like for Ron and Hermione to get together, and for Harry and Ginny to get together, but only time will tell.
harry4_LyF
I'm having a feeling where Harry and his freinds will have to make a huge sacrifice, and someone very important will be lost. I know this is horrible, but I have the feeling. Maybe by killing himself, Harry will be able to destroy Voldemort with him.
The prophecy said something like, neither of them can survive while the other dies...I think...(Correct me if I'm wrong)
So I'm guessing both of them will have to kill each other at the same time.
So this is what I think will happen:
Harry and LV will die
Someone from the DA will be lost
Hermione and Ron will live in the Shreiking Shack.
Harpy
Like lots of people here, I imagine both Voldemort and Harry dying. It's sad, and I don't want the latter to die, but since when have the H.P. books been cheerful little fairytales like the Littlest Elf (which Lemony Snicket seems to think is happy...). I think Vold. will be finished off too because J.K.'s not exactly this horribly unjust writer and she's not going to let seven's years, no, 17 years of Harry's life go to waste, that's just not right. Whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be a spectacular ending to a spectacular series.
One more thing, why does Harry refer to killing Voldemort as making himself out into a murderer? I wouldn't exactly say saving the whole wizarding world, and muggle world perhaps too, from a genocidal maniac exactly a crime on Harry's part. Or does Harry have so much love that he couldn't even bring himself to kill his arch nemesis? In the HBP, Harry was even said to be feeling pity for the man formerly known as Tom Riddle. Or perhaps it's the law that states ANYONE who uses the killing curse will be sent to azkaban? Then again, one could argue that Harry probably won't use this method to kill Voldemort. Hmm...this is all very confusing.
Jerry Plumber
i've heard some theories that ginny will be captured by voldy and harry will be luered into saving her, but that does not seem pheasable. first, this already happened with sirius. not gonna happen again, that would be boring, and not jkr's style.
i think that harry will return to hogwarts when it's being attacked by acromantula + dementors, and mean while the ministry is saving hogwarts voldy will take over the ministry building
harry4_LyF
Well, first things first, all the dead people, are dead, and I'm hoping it STAYS that way. Why? Because I don't waste my tears for nothin! Also, the trio, will go back to Hogwrats, but not for a full term. They DO have better things to do. But I'm guessing it will turn out that both Harry AND Voldy will die. We'll all cry, and the end.
I remember the prohecy saying something that niether can live while the other survives, so I'm hoping my theorie up there isn't completly mental. biggrin.gif
But Hermione and Ron will live to tell the story. But I don't think Harry will die either! (I'm so mind changible) He'll be mentally afraid, and the Weasley's will help him. He'll be severly injured, not physiclly, but mentally, and he'll be, well out of the clock for a year or two until he calsm down and returns to his normal self.
I'd cry if Harry went mental, but hey, I wouldn't blame him.
Or he'll become physiclly injured, or he'll become a warewolf. That's my ending there. smile.gif
Oh, I already posted here... Oh well, now everyone can see how many things are buzzing around in my head. But I should stop thinking, and think about bringing my math grade up...
shaolin1290
[COLOR=red][SIZE=7][FONT=Times]basicly, i think that
1. harry will die
2. there will be some kind of choice between saving someone or killing voldemort
3. hermione, ron, and/or ginny will be in danger
4. harry will turn to dumbledore's picture for advice
5. it is possible that harry is the final horcrux, so that harry turns into VM after he kill him so that someone would then have to then kill harry.
just some ideas happy.gif
davies
Yeah, i do think that it is possible that harry is a horcrux, but, i don't want to think about that to much.
i also don't think that harry will lose his scar, since jk would want to keep it to show harry's long, tragic and distany past.
Just my input biggrin.gif
Nicky_92
I think Harry will kill Voldemort, but he will step through the black veil (the one in the department of mysteries, in the ministry of magic.) His parents are dead, Sirius is dead, Dumbledore is dead, and I think one of the Weasleys might die, probably Ginny or Ron. Once Voldemort has been killed, I think Harry will still have his scar, as a reminder of what happened.
