First of all I have to say, that I believe it's only a rumour. You know how much media loves to come up with such stuff. Once you're in the public eye, a normal friendship becomes an engagement very quickly! *g* So I guess we really shouldn't believe all there's been said. But even if it were true, I can't see why we should be upset. I mean love is clearly the one thing that's not controlable, so if Dan falls in love with a 23 year old, and she likes him too, we just should be happy for them no matter how big the age difference. On the other hand I'm not quite sure about law in the UK; in Switzerland however a 23 year old going out with a 16 year old could become problematic.

I wouldn't worry Lynn, if he is going out with her he will soon realize that he is making one heng of a mistake! I mean I have an article regarding it and all my friends agree that it is a bit obsurd. Well..on what? Why the article is hogwash or why Dan has lust? I'll just answer the second one.. Most everyone has to admit that for Dan, at his age, it's very, very unlikely for him to be in love. I'm not saying that someone at 15/16 couldn't be in love..but it's most likely that they're attracted to someone by how they look or just certain things they know about that person. Now, I don't know if 'Amy's' friends were making it up or telling the truth, but if they are spending time together..well..good for them, I guess.

Think about Dan for a moment. Just how much of an "average" 16-year-old is he? Not much. He's been acting since he was about nine years old, he lives in London where there's always something going on, his fave subject in school is philosophy. He spends a lot of time with adults--working, attending theatre, etc. He's not naive, he's not childish.

I can see him having more fun with someone a little older--someone who probably doesn't gush in his presence, who likes the same things he does (he's got very eclectic musical tastes, just to give an example). He's just...different. Not average.

It doesn't surprise me a bit if it's true.

Oh, and age-of-consent in Britain is 16.

Well love doesnt have an age, so if Dan loves her then let him. We all want him to be happy, although he is a little young, if he still loves her when he is 18 then they are more then welcome to go along and date.

The legal age for sex in the UK is 16 and you can also get married at 16 (with parental consent), just to clear that up.

I think it's very amusing that people are so 'up in arms' about this. A lot of girls date older men and no-one ever harps on about that. I wonder why it's so strange for a woman to have a younger man. I would have thought it would be equal footing but apparantly not.

I'm 20 so a bit nearer to Dan's age and I would gladly be his girlfriend lol. Seriously though I doubt it's true but even if it is then I think we should be a little less judgemental about who Dan dates. It's his life and he can see whoever he wants.

I dont know what all the fuss is about either. The father of my two little kids is five years younger than I am, (though we're not together anymore, it had nothing to do with his age) and my cousins partner is eleven years younger than her, and they have a one year old, and are very happy. I dont see that age should be a boundry if you have feelings for someone. Explore them I say (so long as its legal of course)

I just remembered something that I saw on VH-1. Do you remember the actor who played the young boy in the Terminator 2 movie? The one that was being sought by the newer Terminator (Rober Patrick) and was being protected by the older Terminator (Arnold Swartzeneger [sp])? Anyhow, this young actor (forget his name) fell in love with a crew member (don't remember what she was) and they actually flaunted their relationship. Actually happened. He was in his mid-teens and she was twenty-something. Now, before you all start cursing me, I really don't believe that Dan Radcliffe is dating this older woman. I'm sure it's a rumor. I would rather keep hearing that Dan and Emma are dating!

The media tends to sensationalize alot of the information they get. If it's not first hand coming from the guy himself, I'd really discount it as proof or evidence.

I was raised with 5 brothers and let me just say this, boys are just as insane as teenage girls. It is difficult being a teenager.
