I'll be crying my heart out. I cried while reading the book. I mean come on, its dumbledore!

Im not over emotional but if something terrible like a death occurs of course i will cry. In OoTP i cried when sirius died.

I liked how they showed harry screaming but there was no sound. It showed how much sirius meant to harry. They should do the same with the death of dumbledore. I'm not talking about the screaming part but about really showing how much dumbledore meant to harry and the wizarding world.

i hope the directors do a good job and capture the scene exactly how rowling wrote it. Otherwise it won't have the same effect on me. If they change the scene where dumbledore dies, ill be more ANGRY than sad. Don't you think?? .........

Oh yes! I think I will definitely cry. I'm 99% sure of it! Me too I hope it will be like in the book, because especially the burial was very nice and it would be perfect. There's also the break up scene :S... One thing sure, I'm super excited to see the movie! (and draco...:wub:haha)

It would be worse watching Richard Harris die than Michael Gambon.
Battlefield2142
yeah i was on the virge of crying when i read the book and i think that if i see it on the movie that i will cry. if they capture it like J.K. wrote it then i will definately cry when i see the move.
Potterwatch GMO139
I never felt the connection with the characters in the movies than I did with the characters in the books. I like the movies but they're not done to perfection. I'll probably feel sad, but I know it won't be what I imagine so I doubt it........

I'll reply on this if I actually do when the movie is released to see if they proved me wrong!
chinery13
I agree that the films don't always capture the emotional side of things because when sirius died in the OotP i thought i was going to cry but i didnt becuase it wasn't dramatic enough i don't think. So there is a possibility that i will cry but if it isn't done well then i won't.
johnnie_walqker18
When diggory died i was very sad. When sirius died i wasn't so sad, dunno why 'cause it was my prefered character, i should be very sad. So i think i won't cry because i never cry on movies. The only one i cryied was never ending storie

When I originally read the last chapters of HBP I had a sense of dread about someone close to Harry dying and when it happened feeling a low blow as the curse struck and Dumbledore fell. Not exactly pleasant with theatre food but I want that reaction again with the film version otherwise it would be far less convincing. As long as the points made in the spoiler tag are used and Dumbledore's final moments are conveyed with good acting then I'll be queasy, but satisfied. tongue.gif

I think I will...

David Yates is a great director, and he showed Sirius' death as a really emotional scene. I think, that since Dumbledore is a much more important character, he'll make the scene much more emotional, including the funeral, which will make more people cry. When watching OoTP in the theatre, the place was full of sniffs and sobs happy.gif including mine sad.gif
James, Lily, & Albus Severus
Well if its done the way J.K. wrote it I will. But if it's not then i will be too busy sayin "what the...!" and then i will miss that chance to cry and I will be angry.

The tower part I will gasp and then maybe tear up, but then the movie has more to it so i won't have time to cry.

But I will be a weeping willow when it comes to the burial scene, especialy when people on screen are crying!!

(Tis is saying a lot beause I almost never cry in movies. I've only cried in like 2, Lord of the Rings, and Bridge to Terribithia. Most other movies I tear up, but never really cry.)

So they better do it the right way! It's gonna be sad, but I can't wait!!!:D
Ladie Lily Potter
I probably will cry no matter what but I think it all depends on the reactions of the other characters, especially Harry. Their reactions (and the words at the funeral) will get me for sure. But I am strong in believing that the actors have to have a good reaction to get the audience to cry.
Silver Doe
I will probable cry at the burial, and maybe when DD dies. I really hope it's a good scene in the movie, because it's so well done in the books. Sad, yes, but awesome writing! But, yes, I will be a bawling baby!!
annesches
i want to see how snape casting the ak curse. it would be really emotional to see dumbledore's plead and the hatred etched in the face of snape as he cast the killing curse. what a predicament!!! then seeing the reaction of the death eaters, and the pain and outrage of harry. ha, it will really be interesting and an emotional scene, finally the great wizard's life finished that way. sad but the next scene will be full of the chase.
Mrs Longbottom81
I really hope I cry when Dumbledore dies, that would mean they did an amazing job with the death scene and the funeral. I think I might cry when Snape is looking at Dumbledore before he kills him and Dumbledore is pleading with him. I cried during the funeral in the book, but I'm not sure if they will be able to pull off the funeral like JKR did it in the book. The thing that made the funeral great was what Harry was thinking and feeling during it, he felt the urge to laugh at one moment, thought of memories of him the next, and then the sinking feeling that he was gone forever. It was done so beautifully. Hopefully they can do justice to Dumbledore by making his death scene great!

OMG I am 100% sure I will be a Puddle; a complete mess when Dd dies! I did in the book and I already knew he was going to die ( through spoilers ) and it still got to me...when he's hit and worst of all when Harry lies next to him in the end before the burial.

Anyways I'm a visual person right; so seeing it acted out always impacts me more, even if it is played out better in the book. I've grown to love Dan Radcliffe and the other actors as the REAL caracters of HP so to see the look on Dd's face before he dies and then on Harry's...gonna be INTENSE! eeek.gif

...I know I'll cry much more at the 7th though heart.gif

I'm not sure if I'll cry or not..if Yates does a good job of capturing it emotionally from the book I think I will. But I really didn't cry in the book just had a few tears..I was actually more upset when Sirius died he was one of my favorite characters and was always there for Harry and Harry finally had a father/brother figure there and when he died I bawled my eyes out...in the book and the movie! So it's hard to tell wether I will or not in HBP.
Felix2090
No, I probably will not cry at the end. I didn't cry when I read the book, so I probably won't cry at the end of this movie. It is possible I guess, but only if they copy the funeral part EXACTLY like the book. Dumbledore is a sad loss, but definitely not the sadest in the series.
crazy4u
I didn't cry when he died but I cried at some point during the funeral. So,I don't know what will happen.I guess that I will not cry.But nothing is certain.I remember crying when reading about Sirius' death but I didn't cry in the movie and the director will be the same so...
barnyweasley
i was sort of upset at sirius' death...i cried wihle reading that part, but watching it didn't do it for me..i think that that scene went by so quickly , that there was no build up to it to trigger tears... also while reading the 6th book, i only cried ( quite a lot) during the funeral...i hope that the movie will be able to trigger some tears too!
monkeymushroom
Yeah, defintely - i really want to cry in this one. Sounds weird, but i really don't mind balling my eyes out in this film, as long as i'm in one of the back seats and there is no one else with me (no one i know anyway). I did cry quite alot when reading the part where Hagrid realises that Dumbledore's dead. I hope they capture that part most of all; it's Hagrid's reaction that is important.
I can't wait till this film - i can't wait to cry - and i can't wait for the Harry/Ginny kiss.
annie62442
I did cry when I read the book, but i dont think i will when i watch the film. I think yates did a bad job with sirius's death, i just didnt feel sad at all when he died. I also dont really like michael gambon as dumbledore, i liked richard harris better, though obviously he cant do the part.
Nasuada
I cried when I read that part in the book, but I don't know if I will cry in the movie. I'm not fond of Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, so I don't think it will be so hard for me. I really liked Richard Harris, though. If it was him, I can promise that I would cry. He was so great!
laughingirl_92
I'm not sure if I will cry, but maybe my eyes will get watery. Like Nasuada and many other people I am not at all fond of Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. When I read the books I try to picture Dumbledore as Richard Harris. If I picture him otherwise I hate it.
Just the Droobles
Unless someone does some really spectacular acting, I highly doubt I'll cry. I cried when Cedric died, and I didn't even like him that much. But I love Sirius, and I didn't even get a little bit foggy. I thought his death was terribly done and I wasn't impressed at all. I also don't like Michael Gambon, and I won't really miss him or anything after he goes. Unless he redeems himself in the sixth film. Eh. I'll keep an open mind.
phantompotterfan5
Oh, I will definitely cry. I bawled when Sirius died, and when I read the HBP book, I bawled when DD died. I do hope they do a better job with it than they did with Sirius' death. His death seemed a bit too rushed, if you know what I mean. Point is, I will cry for DD regardless of how good the scene is; I am just an overly sentimental person. *sigh*
Magelirose
I must admit I was fully expecting to cry when Sirius died, but I was disappointed with the portrayal of his death (he sort of danced into the veil rolleyes.gif ), I think it would have had more of an impact if they hadn't cut Harry's screaming. I cried buckets when he was crying over Cedric's body. Mind you - my lack of tears over Sirius could also have had something to do with the fact my own dad had died from cancer only three days before I saw the film, so I was probably all a bit numb anyway.

Having said that - I was severely depressed by the death of DD when I read it in the book. I wonder if knowing that Harry will see him again in HPDH will help with the sense of doom during the film?

harrypotterlover1024
Even thought i thought Yates didn't do a really good job with Sirius's death (and didn't cry) i really liked how they cut out Harry's screams and it was silent. I made me kinda feel like i was there becuase Harry was so upset he wasn't thinking about anything else around. Having no sound made it feel like everthing had stopped because of his death. If we heard Harry's screams it would have been kind of shocking to hear him screaming like mad. It probably would have made me cry tho.

Im not really sure if i will cry when DD dies. I got teary while reading the book, but i wasn't like bawling. I think i will cry more when Hagrid finds out he is dead, because it was really sad when he wouldn't believe it when Harry told him.

Yeah, that was me as well. In the book i was more shocked about how Dumbledore died, and then the bit that gets me crying is when Hagrid finds out. I hope in the film they will make Hagrid's reaction the catalyst of emotion, because i think he represented what some of the readers were feeling at that moment. When everyone gathers around Dumbledore's body, that should be where all the emotion lies. The shock ought to begin at the tower and then the crying should begin at Hagrid's and everyone's reaction to Dumbledore's body and continue at the funeral.
mjane95
I may get a little teary, it depends on how Yates captures the moment. But I think the funeral would have been the tear-jerker but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. I honsetly believe I will not cry that much of at all. I just can't seem to cry in Harry Potter. Sure, I get really msad, but I just can't cry.
jyliiibean
Oh, I will definetly cry. Well, maybe not cry, cuz it takes a lot to get me to actually cry, but i will definetly get teary. Evern though I doint like Gambon as well as Harris, its Dumbledore that i really like. I think it will be when hagrid finds out that dumbledoe is actually dead thst i'll cry. I love dumbledore......

blazer123
dunno actually.. if they put the right stage and all yeah maybe but i don't cry a lot so i'm not really sure but still it'll be an impacting scene
MagicTrioFan11
I don't think i'll end up crying when dumbledore dies, but hey you never know. When i went to the movies to see HP5 i didn't cry when sirius died, however a few months ago when i last watched the movie and saw the part again where harry is being held by lupin and is basically screaming i started to cry. It was just so sad, although i do think that they rushed sirius's death alittle bit.

So i guess i'm not really sure if i'll end up crying or not, it all depends on the way it is shown and the mood that's set in the movie. I guess we'll just have to wait and see! happy.gif
Lily Luna Potter :-)
i dunno actually...it depends how sad & emotional they make it. but i could possibly be really sad but we just need to wait and see. unsure.gif
mugglelovrspew
Well, I might. The series has made me cry when these things happened because I never thought they would. If the atmosphere in the theater(my brother and I plan to go to the midnight show with a couple of my friends biggrin.gif ) is tense and sad enough, I'm sure I will. Almost all of us know it's going to happen, and just knowing that makes me feel sad. And I agree, if they try to make it really emotional, then it will surely happen for most people.
snapesgirlforlife
I'm a little shook to say that i probally won't cry. I think I would've cried had they still had Richard Harris playing the part. My liking to Dumbledore isn't like it was. I know it's difficult to recast someone like they had to, but I honestly don't like how Dumbledore has changed so much. Dumbledore isn't all that humble and calm anymore. But, maybe I will cry... maybe I won't. I don't think I will, but who knows what the future holds, right? smile.gif I ciried during the book, but I think that was more for the fact that is was Snape who killed him. But, I don't know. I probably will, because I'm an emotional person. And Harry Potter deaths never help. he he he.
Back with Black
Well i think it really depends on how well they play on the death. If they rush the death like they did with black's death then i will not cry. but if they do it properly, and make snape look like a horrible traitor (which he is not) ( i love snape) then i will cry. if they also make it look like dumbledore is begging 4 his live (which he aint) i will also cry. But the bit i cannot wait for is when harry chases Snape into the school grounds and hagrids hut is on fire and harry and sanpe have a mini fight. wacko.gif
Doug2222
I know I will not cry during his death but I've been wondering, Dumbledore's funeral got cut from the movie, so will they even show Dumbledore final moments on the Astronomy tower with Harry? Does anyone know for SURE whether this has been cut or has it been left in?
If you were going to cry anywhere, it would diffidently be during the funeral. Since that's been cut... I don't know. Maybe the saddest part would be his body at the bottom of the tower? That's what I think, anyway.

I don't know about that. The part i cried most on was the bit at the bottom of the tower when everyone was gathering and Hagrid first realised what happened. I think if they dramatised that up a little bit (not like over the top, but adding a little heartbeat to it) then i would certainly ball my eyes out.
Magelirose
I would agree with that Monkeymushroom - I will bawl my eyes out when Hagrid finally realises what's happened. Also when Harry is persuaded by Ginny to leave the body there. The whole scene needs to be pretty surreal and shocking (which I think it will be without too much effort!).
