Apologies for this little interuption but I have something important to say.

I am very, very tired of asking people to read the signature rules. It seems that most people are under the impression that when they are creating their signatures, the character limit that they see is the rule. IT IS NOT.

THE RULES STATE THAT YOUR SIGNATURE SHOULD BE NO LONGER THAN FIVE LINES OF TEXT AND CONTAIN IMAGES NO LARGER THAN 400 X 150 PIXELS.

In other words, your signatures should be no larger than mine. If they are, then you're breaking the rules.

Now I understand that we have many people here who are new and so aren't aware of the rules. So, I'm making it much easier for all newcomers and old hands alike to acquaint themselves with the signature rules. You can find them via the link in my signature to the Rules forum, which is directly above this one.

As pointed out in THIS NOTICE, which no one seems to be paying any attention to, the cause of oversized signatures in most cases are these quiz threads because people are trying to cram all their information into just a few lines. It isn't working.

Now I don't want to issue official warnings over something as trivial as this, and thus to make your lives easier, and to reduce the workload of the staff, I am TEMPORARILY locking all quiz threads to make sure that EVERYONE is aware of the rules and thus changes their signatures in accordance with them.

PLEASE DON'T COMPLAIN TO ME OR ANY OTHER STAFF MEMBER.

We are not ogres and we are not on power trips. The signature rules exist for two very good reasons.

1. To reduce the loading time of the site, particularly for members with slower connection speeds, we limit both the text and image sizes you may have in your signatures.

2. To cut down on bandwidth, making more available for what we all come here for - to talk about Harry Potter. It also ultimately helps to cut down on running costs. The less the server has to handle, the quicker the site loads for everyone, it's able to cope better and thus will last a little bit longer.

I'm sorry that this action has become necessary, but as I said, no one is paying any attention to the other notice I posted and this seemed the best way to reach everyone. I have no desire to warn anyone over something as trivial as this when it is so easily fixable.

IN SHORT, IF YOUR IMAGES ARE LARGER THAN MY SIGNATURE, IT'S TOO BIG. CUT IT DOWN.

IF YOUR TEXT GOES OVER FIVE LINES, IT'S TOO LONG. REDUCE IT.

This includes spaces. A spaced out signature is just as bad as having more than five lines.

The last one I have Professor Minerva McGonagall. I'm studying to be a teacher and she's the kind of teacher I want to be and we can both be very strict but do have a sense of humour. You try standing infront of twenty screaming kids, you need to be strict but still likeable. She does that with perfection.

In my native lauguage (don't worry I am going to translate) TUDEFJAES! (Crybaby) Mostly during soccer/football matches. And, det er da dit eget valg. (it's your own choice) Mostly, when people try to skip school or ditch a couple of classes. That can really annoy me, so I say that to make them feel guilty. It works like a charm! :-)

Personality. I just like guys with a nice personality, you know. Easy to talk too, humourous, driven... Personality is the way to go!

Favourite: Oh, I have to say the first one, PS. It's just a wonderfull tale and a wonderfull introduction to the world that we all love so much.
Least: I don't like CoS. It just didn't catch me as the others did. Not the same way.

The sixth one. They really stick together in that one. Forget about the constant bickering between Ron and Hermione. They grow up in their individual paste and are tighter at the end. They stick together and are finally on the right path!

Molly Weasley. I just want to be her one day. She's the best mother of all times. When I have kids, (In ten years or something like that) I want to be that mom, the mom who just seems to handle everything and love everything around her. I think she is amazing!

Favorite: I honestly can't decide between Defense against the Dark Arts or Care of Magical Creatures, I love the practical and theoretical aspects of both, they both seem so very interesting and important to the current wzarding situation. However, I may have to be cheeky and choose Flying lesson - I would love to fly, just imagining the freedom and the wind blowing past my face gives me goosebumps

REMUS - I took the 'which Marauder quiz' and it came out as him, and I think that overall I am most like Remus

SIRIUS (wishful thinking I guess) - because I am loyal (I would sacrifice almost anything for those I love) and fun but can also be serious when required - I do have my faults, as he does but am willing to admit them (and I have long black hair too ),I can be quite rash and act from emotion, either through anger (like his reaction to Snape) or love (his relationship with Harry/James etc) but can also be reserved and controlled. I can be sarcastic and have a dry sense of humour, but also love silly fun too.

SNAPE - I can be very studious (as he was at school), resevred and hide my feeling but they can sometimes explode (he is typically very controlled but exploded at the end of HBP) when something cut deep enough. I woul like to think that I am intelligent too ('like' being the opperative word ), can be very strong when necessary but have an underlying weaker side that I try to hide because of bad thing that have happened to me.

Darn, I hope that it isn't worrying that I chose all males

"the tooth fairy teaches kids that it is okay to sell body parts" - I just think that it is funny

but I also very much like:

Personality, I love people with a dark sense of humour and an ability to laugh (even at themselves) but also very kind. Intelligence and not particularily the academic kind but the ability to hold a conversation be it deep and meaningful or full of wit. Someone who is strong enough not to be a 'yes' friend and actually tell me if I am talking bubbles but would listen to me blather on if I was crying. I love chivelry - not the treating someone as a damsel-in-distress way, but more the good-manners way, such as standing up for an elderly person to take their seat and so on.

actually I'm a very big believer in th idea that personality affects the way in which others percieve your physical aspects. I always remember reading 'the Scarlet Letter' and how Hesters' husbands' physical appearance was described in increasingly negative ways as his personality become more and more dispicable

9. Which is your favorite Harry Potter book and why? Your least favorite?

Order of the Phoenix - it sort of seems to be where the 'real' story begins afer the introction for me (just my humble opinion), it is full of beautifully described emotional scenes and is full of action and deeper meanings. Where the seperation within the wizarding world, the ministry, the DEs, the order - are really opened up and scrutinized. I love the closeness of friendship bonds that develop and strengthen even further, and the relationships between people, like DD and Harry - how there are so many twists and turns, and we learn just how deeply Harry is involved. That Harry has to heartbreakingly mature, realising that DD is only human (albeit a particularily brilliant one ), that people aren't always as they seem. The writing of emotions is so captivating in this book, but so is the humour, there is fantastic humour in it, I adore the subtle jokes and the imagining the school gone amuck during Umbridges rulership of it

I'm not sure, each one seems to represent a stage of development in a childs life, but I suppose POA when their friendship is truly tested but forgive and forget, showing real maturity. I don't really know why (I bet you're glad, it means I can't mummble on for ages again ) it just seems to be a turning point for me

A: The 3rd Harry Potter book because it gives Harry hope for a good future with his godfather. And my least favorite is probably the 1st – just because I like all the excitement in the others more than in the 1st book.

A: The 5th book. Harry is dealing with his godfather’s death and Cedric’s death. He feels like he is blamed for all of them and Ron & Herminoe help him through it.

A: Well I’m a girl so – Katie Bell (Not a main character but she is one of my favorite girl characters! Second – just behind Herminoe and right in front of Professor Magonagall.)

Half-blood prince because it really goes into Voldemort's past and has an excellent fight at the end. (R.I.P. Dumbledore) My least Sorcerer's stone because it didn't really get to the main part of the plot yet.

Goblet of Fire because they really experience what death is like and learn that they have to stick together to survive.

Fave is OOTP, mostly because of all the Fred and George mischief, Everything that happens with Umbridge and the department of mysteries....If i had to choose a least fave it'd be chamber of secrets...mainly because its just a quick read for me...but i still like it...

Honestly I think it starts in third year because attitudes in the characters attitudes change, but the most maturing is in OOTP....add everything that happens in the book, Dumbledore's Army, Harry's attitude etc...
