LOST LOVE
”Padma!”
”What, Ron? Can’t you see I’m busy at the moment?” Padma said angry, but walked over to Ron anyway.

*~*~*~*~
Padma Patil and Ronald Weasley. Boyfriend and girlfriend. After Hogwarts, they had moved together. They had fallen in love with eachother in their seventh year, and it was a serious relationship. Even though they could get mad at eachother some times and shout, they loved eacother. Though, they hadn’t told eachother. Not yet…
*~*~*~*~

”I have to ask you something,” Ron said, taking her hands in his hands. He looked straight into her dark brown eyes. ”I’ve wanted to ask you this many times, but I have never dared in fright of what you’ll answer. But I have to ask, or I’ll never rest a day more in my life, ‘cause I love you. Padma Patil, will you marry me?” Padma opened and closed her mouth, before she managed to say, “Yes, Ronald, I will marry you! Oh, I love you too.”

*~*~*~*~
They decided to marry at spring, ‘cause Padma loved all the flowers being at that time, the birds singing and the smell. She loved that smell. It was about half-a-year to the first day in May, and it was then they should marry. One day in December, they were sitting at a table, planning the whole wedding. At least that was what they was supposed to do…
*~*~*~*~

“No, Ron, that won’t work,” Padma said angry when Ron came with an idea.
“Yes, it will, Padma,” he replied irritated back. He was tired of Padma bossing with him; she was deciding everything for their wedding.
“No, it won’t!”
“Okay, fine!”
“Fine!”
Padma ran from the table and into her bedroom, making Ron sit there and wonder about what had just happened. Ron suddenly stood up and went after Padma. He went to Padma’s bedroom, and tried to open the door. She had locked it.
“Hey, Padma, please don’t be mad at me. I don’t care about where or when I marry, as long as it’s with you.” He waited two seconds before he heard a ‘click’ and the lock was open. Padma came out of the room, and Ron noticed that she had cried.
“Do you mean it?” She said as she smiled sadly.
“Yeah, I do, and you want to know why?” He took her hands in his hands.
“Why?” Padma looked at him with big, puffy eyes.
“Because I love you.”
“Oh, Ron, I’m sorry!” She threw herself around his neck and started crying again.
“There, there,” Ron said, patting her back. “It’s nothing to cry about, I’m still here. I won’t let one little, silly argument ruin our relationship.”
“Me neither, Ron, me neither.” Padma cryed to his shoulder.

*~*~*~*~
Padma had a lot of emotions-outbursts the next few days, weeks and months. Ron was starting to feel anxious about her, but everytime he mentioned it, she snapped at her. What had he done wrong, and what should he do to make her be happy again?
*~*~*~*~

“Ron, come here a moment…” Padma said, leaned over the table looking at some papers; it was their wedding plans.
“What is it, sweetheart?” He said, and walked over to her. He layed his arm around her waist, but he shouldn’t have done that.
“Don’t!” Padma yelled at him.
“’Don’t’ what?” Ron said, stepped backwards, raising his hands as though she was a police officer.
“Don’t lay your arm around my waist, please.” Padma gave him a look that could kill.
“Why not? Padma, I need to talk to you. No, don’t interrupt me,” he said when she opened her mouth to say something. “You are not the girl I fell in love with, nor are you the girl I proposed to. What has happened? You are always so angry with me, and I can’t do anything anymore, without you shouting at me. Why?” Ron looked at her as her eyes slowly filled with tears. “And please, don’t cry, it won’t do anything good to you now.”
“I’m sorry, Ron,” she whispered. “It’s just… I don’t know what it is with me, I just… oh, please, Ron, forgive me.”
“Of course I’ll forgive you, Padma. In three weeks we are husband and wife.” Ron smiled, but Padma suddenly looked scared at this thought, but Ron didn’t notice it. He had given her a hug, and she hugged back. What Ron didn’t know, what was Padma was thinking that very moment.

*~*~*~*~
The truth was that Padma was afraid. She didn’t know if she loved Ron anymore, but how could she tell him? She decided to leave him, at night time, so she didn’t have to see the look on Ron’s face when she told him, and so she didn’t get any embarrassing questions. But her plan didn’t work hundred percent…
*~*~*~*~

One night in January Ron was snoring loudly in his bedroom. He was dreaming about flying broomsticks which attacked Padma, and he saved her from them and became a hero. It wasn’t the first time he had dreamed that dream, and it was his favourite one.
Padma got silently up, dressed and packed her things in a huge bag. She went downstairs as quietly as she could, but it wasn’t quietly enough. When she was to open the door, a hand was laid on her shoulder.
She froze on the spot, and turned around to find herself face to face with Ron.
“Are you going somewhere?” He asked curiously. He was still in his pyjamas, which was too short for him so that Pamda could see his ankles.
“Ron…” she whispered.
“I didn’t hear you,” He said.
“Do you love me, Ron?” She said higher.
“Above anything in the whole world,” Ron answered, not knowing where this conversation was going.
“And would you… would you do anything for me, just to make me happy?”
“Yes, Padma… I would do anything – sacrifice everything – just to make you happy.”
“Then you must let me go,” she whispered. “Sorry, Ron.” She opened the door, gave Ron a sad look, took her bags under her arm and went outside to face the cold, dark night. Ron didn’t say anything, just stood there in his too small pyjamas and looked after her until the darkness swallowed her completely.
