JKR's expecting her third baby!! (See Official site)
Can I be one of the first to wish her all the very, very best!!!
I'm really glad things are good for her at the mo....
Can I be slightly selfish though in hoping that it doesn't affect the release date of the sixth book
tooooo much.....

Erm....EDIT....Does this mean that maybe she wants to get the book done before the baby is born??!!
Next spring's looking good for a release date now!!!!

Yay!!!
I am sooo happy for her!!!
I don't care how long the book takes now as long as she's happy!!
Please remind me of this when I get impatient!!!
I bet she would be an excellent Mum though. You can sort of tell through her writing that she is a very self sacrificing sort of person.
Trust me. I don't know how I get that impression.

Do they know if it's a boy or a girl yet?
Louise
Jul 24 2004, 03:56 PM
No idea, but I suppose it's a bit early yet. They don't even necessarily tell you in this country unless you specifically ask and even then sometimes they can be a bit cagey about it. I doubt she'll release that information anyway. But she has a girl and a boy at the moment, doesn't she? So I suppose it won't really matter to her much either way...it never does to anyone, as long as the baby is okay.
How lucky are her kids though!! Do you reckon she tells them anything about what's going to happen in the next book? (The eldest, of course....I suppose the baby's too young yet to care much!!!)

I'm glad for JK. Must be nice having a baby.

Jul 26 2004, 03:41 PM
LOL @ Shuntpike..it must be, but for women, a pain..literally. Oh, that'll be good if she releases it before her baby is born!! Whooo, that'll be awesome! Then again, some women are cranky or sensitive or lazy during pregnancy..hopefully it doesn't happen to her!

My sister in law just found out that she is pregnant too, and she is only six weeks and is due in March. So if JKR is able to finish the book before she has the baby then it should be out before March!!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!

Jul 28 2004, 05:05 PM
*crosses fingers* As much as I'm hoping for a SOONER release date, I don't want JK to feel pressured! If it weren't for her, all this wouldn't exist..including this forum!

Jul 29 2004, 04:37 AM
I believe she is married. I'm sure she is a very good, carring mum. Look at the way she wrote lily, who sacraficed herself for her son in the ultimate show of love. Yay for Jo's new bundle of joy!!!

Wonderful wonderful news! She says book 6 is coming along very well. That means previous pregnancies were not very troublesome. If she had had morning sicknesses she would be less optimistic.
Baby should be about 4 weeks old now, so expect the book by March. If they miss march, then it will be July. She is a devoted mother. She will not risk her baby by promoting the book while the due date is close.
Yes, she is married. Her her second husband is Neil Murray.

Aug 1 2004, 04:39 PM
I don't know, I think she's probably further along than that.... They're a bit superstitious over here about releasing information like that just after you've found out...I reckon she's more like three or months already (what's that, first trimester?

) I reckon she's probably due in about January time...if she completes before then, with rewrites, I suppose spring is looking pretty good for the release.... Believe me, I know from experience, there ain't no way she's gonna do
any writing (books, articles or, as in my case, lab reports and essays) with a baby in the house, no matter HOW good her intentions (unless she gets a nanny, I suppose)

Wouldn't it be neat if Jo named her baby after one of the characters in the books? Haha, what are some of the names you guys like from HP?
Nivaya
Sep 2 2004, 06:21 AM
I'm so delighted for her!!! Mind you, how old's her second? She's gonna have her hands full, poor thing, he's still pretty little, isn't he?
Ahh I Jo's more down-to-earth than to name one of her kids after her characters...Can you imagine how much it'd get teased? I think it must be pretty not-easy to have a SERIOUSLY famous mother, without people going like "Oy, Harry!!! You're Harry Potter!!! Where's your scar? UHUHUHUHUHH!!" *that was meant to be a dumb laugh, btw...* In short, I think the kid would get rather teased....
Saying that, I like the name Luna...

I read somewhere that she doesn't even let her daughter know what will happen to keep things fair. So her daughter has to wait until it comes out like everyone else.

hmm i studied pregnancy in eighth grade =\ and i've had experience living with a pregnant woman. believe me, it's not a pretty site. they tend to be more moody than your average PMSing female (hehe, sorry. of course, not everyone is like that). i'm really wondering if her moods with affect with the way she will write the book...she said the pregnancy won't delay the book, but we don't know about the way it is written.
but anyway, if i were her, i wouldn't tell my kids what happens next in the book. you know how some little kids tend to blurt out secrets? yeah
lol, it would be sort of embarressing to be named after some character in a book your mother is writing. *see Nivaya's post! lol*
but i do like the name draco, sirius, remus, blaise, and lavender. erm, it wouldn't be too good to give your name like hermione. *sounds like hurt-my-own-knee if you ask me lol. my friend pointed out that it sounds like her-hiney if you pronounce it her-mine-nee*
Nivaya
Sep 6 2004, 12:33 PM
But then, her second kid's pretty young, isn't he? I think he's about 2-ish, so she must have been writing when she was expecting him, too...So I'm not too concerned about it...although, she would have been writing Order of the Phoenix then, wouldn't she? And THAT was pretty dark...>.<

Thats right Nivaya, when in doubt, blame the prenacy (lol) Spring looks good?? great news, i was gonna be pleased with just Chrismas 05!
Names? I doubt she would give the new baby an HP names but I like the names Narcissa, Lavender, Seamus, Ron, Bellatrix, Sirius, James, Lily, Reagulas and some others (it makes ya think, I mean years from now when all of us crazed HP fans grow up and have kids will there be a lot of Harrys or Sirius or stuff like that??

I absolutely adore the name Sirius....I actually really like Hermione as well.....
Oh boy, my kids are going to get bullied something fierce in school, aren't they?!!!
At least they won't get mistaken for other people....
Everyone called their baby girl's 'Louise' in the late 1970's because the first test tube baby was born then and her name was 'Louise'. I'm not kidding, there were like four or five 'Louise's' in my class at school and we all got labelled, 'The Pretty one', 'The Sporty One', 'The Slutty One'....I was 'The Swotty one'...

(thankfully!!) ....always had my head stuck in a book....I was such a geek....

(You guys all know what a 'Swot' is, right? Well...let me put it this way....Hermione is one, at the extreme....

)
Plus it's pretty fun to hear your teachers/lecturers struggling to pronounce your name in front of about a hundred other students...

(Is that herm-y-one-ninny? Sirius or Sigh-re-us?) **tee hee**

Boy will my kids be teased too
Sirius and Remus or Hermione and Bellatrix
Choices Choices
I love seeing teachers struggle with names my ex-boyfriend's name was Teashaun (pronounced Tuhshaun) and theyd be like Teahan, Sashuwan, Tayhay??
What else is fun is when there are like 50 people with the same name in one class (although it gets really really reallly old after a while)
Last year there was 2 Sarahs (and her and I were best friends) 2 Willams, about 3 Marys and 2 Rachels and we all sat in one big group, boy did they get confused....

What do you think? I think she will have a girl. And by the way, when do you think the hbp will finally be released? Before the baby or after the baby?
doomed_renascence
Sep 22 2004, 02:53 AM
You know what? I have absolutely no clue whatsoever. What kind of kids does she have now?
I'm guessing that she'll have the book out after she has the baby. Neither can be rushed, so let her have her baby and settle down first, and continue the book from where she left off. I think that's the best thing she could do
halfbloodprincess15
Sep 22 2004, 03:02 AM
Great answer! Yeah, i dont know either. But for some odd reason i have a feeling she will be having a girl! But i could be wrong, it is after all just a feeling. And i agree. Alot of kids think the book will be out before her baby is due because she has said their will be no baby complications connected to the book. But i think it might be after she has her baby like you said.

Well she said she wouldn't let the release date interfere with her pregnancy. Let's hope she gets a boy!
zyra123
Sep 26 2004, 08:30 AM
She did says it won't interfere with her finishing the book, but we also have to consider the editing process, publishing, printing and distributing process...like OotP...I heard that she had finished them in Nov 2002, but still it came out in June 2003...so, I guess we just have to wait patiently...I bet by the time the book's out, she'd have her old figure again!!!

Sep 26 2004, 04:37 PM
Yeah, your probably right! I am dieing for this book!
And i hope she has a boy to! Hey, what do you think she will name her baby? Should i start a thread on that!
Louise
Sep 26 2004, 05:45 PM
No, you shouldn't. If people want to talk about the baby, talk about it here.
I won't be a happy little bunny if I see any more threads being started on JK's children......

Yes, we don't need a thread on her children I have a feeling Mrs. Rowling wouldn't be too happy about that! (Nor would you Dana?!!)
I voted for a boy because I like little baby boys.
She has a daughter. But knowing my lack of research I think she has another child. Hmmmm.....
I bet you she's not to happy with me now!!!!
zyra123
Oct 2 2004, 10:41 AM
She has two children. Jessica, born in 1993 and David, born in 2003.
Actually I've read somewhere about a rumour that she'd named David (not born yet then) as Harry....I'm glad she didn't (not that she would ever need to consider that, IMHO, naming her own children as Harry, indeed) because I know how awesome it is to have a multimiilion author who is loved by millions of children around the world as a mother...but there are times when you would want to be just an ordinary kid...someone no one would notice, you know, when you make a stupid mistake but no one would take a single glance because you're a nobody... like Harry himself, don't you think he would rather be just a simple nobody boy than to be the boy who lived, to be looked up by others as hero, to always seems to find himself in trouble in every chance he had and the one in the prophercy had to kill Voldemort cause if he didn't or failed then nobody else could...but who is he to change the destiny, he is after all just Harry...but nonetheless he is Harry Potter.
Aaah...look at me blabbering there...sorry bout that!!
I'll back off now....
And oh! I think whatever gender would be great...as long as it's a healthy baby...

I very much like the name Hermione (her-my-oh-nee- very sneaky how JKR put that in the fourth book

) possibly cuz it sounds a lot like my name

. I also like Seamus but that's probably just because of the character.....Ron because of the character (duh) and one of my friends is named Ron, he's great....Neville would be odd, though, can you imagine naming your child that? I wonder how she comes up with names for her characters.......

Wow...thats good news!:D ! I am happy for her...but that really doesnt excuse her from writing and finishing HBP...i know i'm being selfish, but i am SOO impatient, but i have been patient in this case! It's better if she finishes before her delivery...and yeah, its really painful for the mother and happiness for every other...happiness for mother too really

Congrats to J.K. Rowling!
I can't believe how many kids are going to be called: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Sirius, etc. In a couple generations or so.
I have a cousin named Harry. I thought it was such a horrible name because, well, he is hairy. And I knew that the was going to get teased about it. (Parents can be so heartless) But now I think he's the coolest kid ever. He loves his name because of Harry Potter.

Do what on Propose Audrey?
I'd just like to add my congratulations to Joanne and Neil as well as the rest of the Rowlings. I wish them all many years of happiness.
Mackenzie is a beautiful name plus its not a name you hear too often.
I've kinda always thought if i was ever lucky enough to have a daughter (and by this i don't mean give birth to, but i just can't think of a better way of wording the sentence

)
i'd like to call her Emma or Katie, this by the way has nothing to do with the actor who plays Hermione i've just always really liked that name and for a boy i quit like the name Dara.
Anywho congratulations again Joanne!
