Polls turning out looking like THIS lately? You've come to the right place! Follow along with these step-by-step instructions and you'll end up making polls as nice as this one with minimal frustration. smile.gif

After you click the "New Poll" option at the top every forum, you'll run across a screen that looks something like this. For the purposes of this tutorial, from this point forward, we will pretend that our ultimate goal is a poll that looks like this thread.

Topic Settings

You're probably already familiar with the first and second fields ("Topic Title" and "Topic Description") because you need to fill them out for every new thread that you create. In our model, these fields should be filled out to look like this.

Poll Settings

It's more likely the third and fourth fields ("Poll Question" and "Poll Choices") where you're running into your troubles. The most important thing to remember is that you are to type each poll option on its own line. If you try to add multiple options on a single line (INCORRECT example), it's not going to turn out right. For an example of CORRECT spacing, click here.

Another "Poll Settings" option to take into account is the little check box labeled "Make Poll Only?" (see here). Do not check off this box if you would like people to be able to post replies and explanations of their choices. If you check off the box, you are making your poll "vote only," like this example.

Enter Your Post

The fifth and final field that you need to fill out is another one that you're probably already familiar with -- the text that appears in your actual first post in the topic. In the case of our example, the poll text appears something like this.

After you've reached this point, simply click the "Add my Poll" button... and congratulations, you're done! smile.gif

If you have any questions, feel free to reply in this thread, or else contact a moderator or prefect, and we'll be happy to help you out.
