I am a scorpio!!I learned that most goths are scorpios.Most scorpios feel that they don't fit in.I am a semi-goth and I don't fit in.Go figure.

I've learned most water signs [scorpio, cancer, pisces] are goths/EMO'S [bwaha]. Water symbolizes 'emotion' and stuff like that. I don't support that theory, from what I know, it's Capricorns and Cancers, I dont know any scorpios anyways. As for me [cancer], I either dress for comfort or attention [crazy brightly patterned clashing clothes, that look ridiculous in a cool kind of way. Only in small schools with my friends. My old school enocouraged weird stuff like that, especially Drama [ I wasent in it, and mostly ppl did it with their hair].
Gaaah...Happy [early] Birthday

ES: But there aren't a lot of Death Eater children in the other houses, are there?
JKR: You will have people connected with Death Eaters in the other houses, yeah, absolutely.
ES: Just in lesser numbers.
JKR: Probably. I hear you. It is the tradition to have four houses, but in this case, I wanted them to correspond roughly to the four elements. So Gryffindor is fire, Ravenclaw is air, Hufflepuff is earth, and Slytherin is water, hence the fact that their common room is under the lake. So again, it was this idea of harmony and balance, that you had four necessary components and by integrating them you would make a very strong place. But they remain fragmented, as we know.

Apr 7 2007, 05:41 PM
Moster water and Earth types are in touch with their emotions, they are the feeler's of the zodiac. Fire and air types are the dooers, they need action.
So it makes sence that Hufflepuff and Slytherin are the emotional one weither its good or bad, when you think of hufflepuff they are shy, when you think of slytherins, they are cruel, well most of them.
It also makes sence that Ravenclaw and Gryfindor are the action craver, because if you think about it most of the quidditch cups went to Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, and most well known wizards were Ravenclaw or Gryfindor. I think.
Thats alot of assumptions, I'm not quite sure if its all true.

I knew I've read it somewhere in the thread:
"
Gryffindor=Fire [aries, leo, saggitarius btw, positive/masculine signs]
Slytherin=Water [Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio. And Water usually symbolizes emotional stuff too haha..Negative/Femenine Signs]
Hufflepuff=Earth [Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo. Negative/Femanine]
Ravenclaw=Air [Libra, Aquarius, Gemini, all 'smart' signs. Same as gryffindor.]"I don't think that the only thing that made JKR decide about the Houses was the fact of their correspondance with the four elements....Without the shadow of a doubt, she might have taken these into account, but -as I see it- they're not the only ones.

JKR did say that

..it was an interview..
la la la..
Oh, no, she didnt make it only based on that, she just wanted it to 'correspond roughly to the four elements..' or whatever. Just to make sense? Cause she said she wanted 'balance' or whatever, it's not that important I think, I just liked it. I dont think she used the zodiac with it, but it also uses the four elements, I thought it was kinda neat..

, except that its more important in the zodiac I think.

Hmm...well, I'm a pisces, and I don't much like the thought that it corresponds to the Slytherins. I suppose it kind of makes sense for them to correspond to water, though. They're pretty devious and can mold themselves to take best advantage of a situation just like water can mold itself to the shape of its container. Or, that's how I see it as corresponding, at least. Anyway, I don't really believe in the Zodiac, in all honesty, but the whole pisces thing actually fits me quite well, so go figure

I agree with you both, whereas I'm a Scorpio and I'm in Hufflepuff...if the theory was to be bound to be true, I'd be in Slytherin or else I'd had to be re-sorted

Apr 12 2007, 05:56 PM
I'm going to keep going with the theme of agreement here. I'm a virgo... with very virgoish tendancies. However, I was sorted into Gryffindor and I feel perfectly at home there as well. I think that while the houses were intended to balance eachother out and that the members of the houses might tend to have certain signs, it's more about your own personality/characteristics. Like DD said to Harry in CoS:
"It's our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than out abilities"
It is good food for thought though that the houses correlate with certain elements. I've never really considered it before.

Hi-5! I'm a leo as well. ok, I have learnt from
LadyCakeage &
alkisti that we Leo's are....(ok, I am not going to bother typing it all out)...here I will just copy & paste...
The opposite sign to Leo is Aquarius. Leos, like lions, are thought to be strong leaders. They are thought to generally have a regal quality to them, and possess a noble manner that is hard to miss. Leos are normally very good looking. They are attractive, and have bright and vivid personalities. (my extremely weird imagination is explained here) They get along with mostly any other sign, including Cancer. Cancer is most likely the best sign they get along with if the Leo him/herself is born within the month of July. Leo is the fifth sign of the Zodiac and is associated with the keywords magnanimous, generous, hospitable, caring, warm, authoritative, active and open. ahhhh... Leos are typically pictured as very dignified and regal. They are hard-working, ambitious and enthusiastic, however they are prone to laziness and can often take "the easy way out." (haha, so true considering me
)
They are known to be exuberant, extroverted, generous with a natural dramatic flair and very creative.They are typically very self-assured, and love taking center-stage in whatever arena they are in. (so yea, this explains my whole love for acting thing) Fiery determination and the desire to be important often rule their life. They usually pursue their goals doggedly and use their charisma to sway others to their cause. Open and honest, tend towards the philosophical and tend to hold great idealisms about how things should be.ok, I hope that helped you understand the ways of us Leos'
