i am new here so i apologise if this has been raised before.

i know everyone is talking about how book 7 will end but what would be the worst ending for you. my worst possible ending would be something along the lines of 'and Harry woke up'. i believe that JKR is too much of a decent writer to have it end this way but it would be my all time nightmare.

i also will be devestated if harry dies though i have a strong feeling this is the way its heading, i think harry will find happiness in death being with all the people he has lost, parents, sirius and dumbledore. feel extremely sad just thinking about it.

anyway my question is - what would be the worst ending for you?

If Harry died, it would be the worst ending. The whole "and then he woke up" thing is impossible. No dream is that long - or that real. But Harry can't die! Please J.K.! Don't let him die!

The dream idea would be awful, but it simply won't happen. I must say, devastating as it would be, JKR (in my opinion) could have Harry die with a great ending. If it was done properly, I would be OK with Harry dying. Don't get me wrong, I would be devastated, but it could be good.

This is a very funny topic as my brother and I had planned out the entire "Harry woke up" scenario. We laughed at how corny that would be and imagined the millions of ticked off readers around the world. I really can't think of a worse ending than it all being a dream of Harry Potter- average kid.

The worst ending ... that's a tough one. If Harry is forced to kill one of his friends, uses an Unforgivable Curse, stops being Dumbledore's man, or violates his beliefs, which would be in a sense worse than failing to vanquish Voldemort ... but I don't see how Jo Rowling could treat Harry that way after building him up so strongly. It is still possible that Harry dies, I agree with SeventhHorcrux there, but I'm confident that even if Harry dies the side of Love will prevail against the Dark Side. I am sure that Harry has a better chance to defeat Voldemort than the other way round, because Voldemort has one huge blind spot ...

"Harry woke up" ... oh no. No way JKR would spoil her own work like that. priori_incantatem, I once had a dream that spanned two summers, so it's possible for dreams to be very long, maybe even lasting a lifetime, but I still don't think the story could end with Harry waking up like Alice and finding his parents alive and well.

Hmm...well, I guess the dream scenario would be the most stupid thing there is so, yeah, that would be the worst.

Second, would be Voldemort surviving and Harry, Ron and Hermione dying.

Third for me would be any of the trio dying.

Wow that would be extremely disappointing if Harry woke up at the end. And as for the Harry-dying thing, I think that has a chance of happening and it would be sad and everything but better than it all being a dream. Lol, plus it seems to vivid and detailed to all be a dream.
But hopefully it'll all have a good endding.

But if Harry woke up James and lily may have been killed in the "car crash" and harry would be like "wa wa wa" and voldy would "ha ha ha" and then dudley would eat junk food and be lik "glomph glomph glomph" then the bells were ringing out on christmas day

Here are the worst things that could happen:

• Harry waking up (obviously).
• Harry, Ron, or Hermione dying
• All of the trio dying

And here's one I made up myself. (I know it wouldn't happen, but I like using my imagination.)
Harry dies and the whole wizarding world is ruled by Voldemort.

The most horiible ending for me would be if harry die and voldy is still alive. I will practically cry and mourn over his death even if he is a character iam just soo attached to the cahracter in the book that iam afraid if he dies the worst is to come. jus like dumbledore i was sad for like a week it took time to you know get it out of my mind.

the worst for me is for harry to die.But also like him on his journeys to find the horcruxs and he kills ron hermione or ginny,knowing him he probably would try kidnapp them.




But i surpose that if harry defeated voldy and he could never come back , and voldy transported himself in to harrys body,as they are equals.but i dunno.........

Worst ending. Harry saves the wizarding and muggle worlds. He goes to a store to get some gum....And is shot in the face by an armed robber...then as people are carrying him to the hospital, he gets flattened by the knight bus....man that would just stink.

I don't think Harry will die. It's almost too predictable. However, If he does, I'm burning all of my books...that would make the whole series of events completely pointless too me. Kinda like if Batman got blown up by the joker in the 5th movie....

Worst ending? ......

Hermione is in love with Harry, but Harry is on love with Cho, but Cho is in love with Ron, but Ron is in love with Hermione. Voldemort kidnaps Hermione, and Ron goes to save her, but she wants Harry to save her! So, Voldemort gets ticked and kills them both. Harry is devastated, and so is Cho because she was in love with Ron. So...she kills herself and leaves Harry to fight Voldemort alone. Then, Harry is like, "Omg, y'all. Everyone I love is dead. My parents, Dumbledore, Sirius, Hermione, Ron, and Cho. Maybe I should just die." But he doesn't want to kill himself. So...He begs Voldemort to kill him, and Voldemort really wants to, but he's like..."I'll make him suffer." So, he curses him to live with his aunt, uncle, and Dudley for the rest of his life while he mopes because he is all alone with no one to love him.

The End.

Beat that! Wait, nevermind...YOU CAN'T!! Mwah ha ha haaa! I am unbeatable! I am unstoppable! And I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!

you know, it would stink if the ending was something like "and finally, Harry woke from his dream" yeah, i would rip my hair out.

I'd have to say,"And then, everything stopped. All motion surrounding Harry froze, and he felt his body rip away from the ground. Everything was blurry and distorted;colors swirled before his eyes.... He awoke. He could hear someone calling his name. 'Harry, breakfast!'.
'Coming mum!' Harry called back.

Basically the same as yours...al just a dream.

There is a thread here about the ending, but as it's what you'd like to happen and this is the worst possible scenario one, I'll leave it open, provided that it stays on topic because the other thread can be used for hopes.

Personally, I reckon the worst possible ending would be that Snape really is evil, Dumbledore really was a natty old codger, Ron and Hermione get married and have loads of babies, Harry and Ginny do the whole Spiderman thing, James really was a jerk, Lily really was preppy, the eyes thing never meant anything, the Maruaders were just an interesting sideline and never really had any major significance, Sirius' death is never explained and something awful happens to Fred and George.

As most of those things are pretty likely to be in there ( or not, conversely ), my hopes for book seven aren't high. Sadly. *sigh*

yes ive given it some thought and i think that since wormtail owes harry a favor he would come back and the dark lord very weak he dies because there was nobody to take care of him.

all of this of course would be after lv and harry duel or whatever.and harry hurt lv and that would be why he is weak.

I'd hate it if all these "extras" never played such a big role. I mean, there are so many things mentioned in this series that we have all thought might lead up to something. If nothing we suspected might even be close to true, than that would be the worst BOOK ever.

I am just hoping so much that it all comes to a happy instalment with all the questions answered in a way that doesnt leave me with anymore questions or disapointment.

Harry seemed to sense this and ran up to Voldemort and hugged him. "I love you too man."

"You..." Voldemort hesitated, "you know I never meant to harm your parents, nor you, in fact, let me remove that scare." Voldemort lifted his wand to Harry's head and said some sort of incantation. "There we go, as if nothing happened"

Voldemort suddenly kicked Harry and screamed "I'M A VEGETARIAN!" Harry reacted by levetating off the floor and counter attacked with a very well mastered SONIC BOOM. Voldemort bounced off the nearest wall, but got up unscathed nonetheless. "So, been practicing your Street Figher I Presume? EAT THIS! KAMEHAMAHA!"

Harry lifted his wand and thought of EXPELIARMIS. "Wait a sec, Voldemort."

"Why, what is it my dear...boy?"asked Voldemort

"Do you know how many copyright infringments and royalties we probably owe by now? McDonalds, Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars, even Dumbledore looked like Gandalf now that I think about it."

"This is true," said Voldemort scratching his head. "Based on my yearly salary I don't think I can afford all those payments. Do you mind if you spot me some cash for a couple years? I promise I'll pay you back, I'll even throw in a free soul splitting...its a Splitting Spectacular."

"Ahhh, I can't man. I was planning on getting a nice house in the country with my girl Ginny."

"Yea? Nice girl." Voldemort and Harry stared at each other for ten minutes, all the while reading each other's minds. "Ok then, I'll see you later."

Harry made a clicking noise with his mouth and pointed at Voldemort. "I'll see you on the flip side alright? If you need anything, owl me."

"You know they have this thing called the internet now?"

"Do they really?"

Hedwig gets bitten by a rabid bat and Harry has to kill her due to the rabies. Then after finding Voldemort, Harry defeats Voldemort and kills him instantly. However, Harry sustained a mortal wound during the battle. As Harry staggers off into the sunset, Colin Creevey cries and yells, " Harry! Harry! Come back Harry! Harry come back!"

Okay.. This is what I think.. It wouldn't kill me if the trio died.. But a thing that wouldn't be too good is if neither Voldy or harry died and the book series would end like "Maybe someday harry will kill Voldemort" That would be just lame. EXCEPT if JKR would continue the series If the ending would be "Maybe someday harry will kill Voldemort" You will find that in the following 3 books!! or something. I'm Still hoping that JKR fooled us with the seven books limit. I think no fan would be mad at her if she lied to us in this way

Thats funny, but no offense that would never happen. I think that the worst possible ending is simply that Voldemort is never stopped and continues to reign terror on the wizarding world. That would be like all the efforts put in by Harry, the D.A, dumbledore, and everyone else was all for nothing. I really do hope that it all ends happily, Harry not being a horcrux, Voldemort dies, and the Order of the Phoenix survives on. And i hope Snape dies too!! I hate him!!!

I'd have to agree about the dream thing, it would be bad but funny too in a wierd way. I think Harry might die, or both Harry and Voldemort die to bring closure to the series. I could go on, but I mentioned another theory in another thread just like this.

REVISED THEN:
Harry knew that Voldemort was the last horcrux, as Dumbledore, he, and the mysterious RAB had destroyed all the others. In his last ditch effort, he slowly paced around the Department of Mysteries as Voldemort looked on in anticipation.
"Whats your next move Potter, the suspence is killing me."
Harry looked straight into Voldemort's eyes from across the room. "I have discovered your secret, much like RAB did, but I managed to destroy all but one..."
"...what is this jibberish...I have all of my horcruxes right...here..." Voldemort lifted his wand to the cieling and muttered a spell, but nothing happened. "IT CAN'T BE!"
"Did you expect something?" Harry thought for a second as Voldemort's face mangled into one of rage, SECTUMSEMPRA Harry managed to master his non-verbal spells. However, Voldemort simply flicked it away.
"What a fool you have become. Here we are, in the Department of Mysteries, where your god father died and you can't even touch me."
Harry's heart began to beat faster and faster, he had come all this way for nothing. Voldemort really was going to finally kill him. The air began to grow colder, Harry could see his breath. But as his teeth began to chatter, the doors bursted open and in swooped a dozen dementors.
"What is this? What have you done?" asked Voldemort looking around in terror. Voldemort shouted incantations at one of the dementors but it was to no avail. "It doesn't matter, good bye boy. AVADA KADAVRA!"
Harry lurched his head forward, but something odd ocurred. He opened his eyes and got a very determined look on his face. Voldemort fell to the floor in shock and began backing up until his back was near the viel. The green curse shrouded Harry and gave him an unearthly hue.
"It can't be...IT MUSTN'T BE" Voldemort got up from the ground and began running towards the dementors. "NOT AGAIN, THERES NO RETURN THIS TIME."
Harry's scar glowed a burning gold until it appeared to melt right off his face. Voldemort could not get through the barrier of dementors as they stood there like a wall. With Harry's wand lifted, he aimed it at the floor and the hue and strange sensation left him.
"I have my mothers eyes."
"How did that help you...TELL ME!" Suddenly the dementors began moving slowly in, bypassing Harry without a second thought. "No, I can't die...get out of here, attack the boy...NOT ME..."
Suddenly there was an explosion of white light coming from Harry's wand. A stag emerged, and the dementors vanished from sight. "I thought they had me Potter, thanks."
Harry's eyes were blood shot. "You used the imperious curse on me..."
"I knew you had a very powerful Patronus," Harry noticed that Voldemort was panting on the floor and struggling to get up. "They didn't get me, they didn't get me."
EXPELIARMUS...Harry thrust his wand straight at Voldemort and the curse finally hit. The dark lord was blasted within inches of the viel, but very conveniently, five death eaters came in through the door and froze Harry in his tacks. "Nice try Potter," said a odd deep voice Harry recognized as Snape.

1. dumbledore's really dead and nevercoming back, not even a hint of him in the portrait cos harry is not returning to hogwarts. that harry fought alone cos the DE got all the OotP members and killed them all, and when harry and voldemort had a face-off, voldemort's using another wand, hence, no priori incantatem and there's no one else tosave harry cos everyone died. so yea, he dies, not cos he's a hero, just cos he's an amateur wizard compared to voldemort, and that means the reign of terror, of evil triumphs too.

2. dumbledore was reborn BY voldemort hence he is now evil, harry didnt know this, dumbledore kills harry and the order members.

3. ok honestly, i think a very bad ending for me would be....that dumbledore's really dead and not coming back, fawkes really left and so he cant help harry anymore, that harry wouldnt be able to find ANY other horcrux.....that snape is REALLLLLY evil (wow that'll be a huge let-down cos i love him and i want him to be good ) and peter pettigrew wouldnt 're-pay' harry even if he owes him his life....the DEs kidnaps ginny to lure harry....and during the final battle or something, ron sacrifices himself for NOTHING (its sad for harry AND hermione...cos....well, hermione didnt get the chance to tell ron she loves him or something), even if ron dies for harry so that harry would be able to defeat voldemort, its worthless cos voldemort would just use his hidden horcruxes and be reborn again...and well, harry and ginny are killed by bellatrix...and evil triumphs...hermione survives but shes better off dead.

...but all of wot i said wont happen cos well,i still believe that dumbledore will be reborn again to help harry for the last time, snape's good, hermione and ginny and harry lives...i dunno bout ron tho...he's sacrified himself once......

If it were the dream ending, I'd be so steamed. I'd push for the writers of Newhart to sue the pants off of her...

The dream thing would be pretty bad, but also if in the final battle Harry get LV on the ropes and is about to finish him off but then LV reveals himself as...Harry's father! And then they hug and walk off into the setting sunset to live happily ever after!

It would also be pretty bad if Harry became a bad guy and actually helped LV kill off the rest of the Order including Ron, Hermione and Ginny.

Don't forget about a giant foot squashing Harry........just a foot.......not a giant, not some guy with a really swollen foot........just a foot. And then Filch defeats Voldemort.

Well, since it is (or at least was) a childrensbook, I really doubt that Harry, Ron or Hermione will die, but so far, Harry has lost all those grown-up persons he really trusted and is now left a little alone, but I still don't think any in the trio will die.

The worst ending for me would be that they all died or was caught\imperiursed by Voldemort and the Death Eaters without leaving us any explanation of what the future will hold.

Maybe the worst would be if Ron or Hermione was imperiursed and killed Harry themselves That would really be a let-down after all they've been through.

Hehe, I can imagine a Dream-ending like in Super Mario 2...that would be horrible.

The worst that could happen is JKR loses the plot completely and doesn't write the next book.


Now that would be bad, very bad.

If JKR decided to stop writing and never finish the book, I would probobly go to her house and protest. However, Iam sure that won't happen.
Another horrible ending would be: Dumbledore was a Dark Wizard the whole time. That is also imposibble.

Hmm.. worst ending? Probably if it was all a dream, that would be really annoying, or if the ending wasn't really finished and Jo kept us guessing. Ships wise, as long as H/G don't get togther and start a big happy family with the ever so popular R/Hr and live happily ever after, and... If Neville dies, or Jo doesn't explain what happens to him. Aww, I like Neville so much

I made my ending up:

"Yes Potter, it's me, I'm back!"

Harry's eyes widened. t WAS him. It was Snape, his arch enemy, his worst teacher!

"MWAHAHAHA!" he laughed his evil laugh.

Harry started laughing. He pointed at Snape. "Hahaha...you farted," he said. He fell down and started laughing. Snape on the other hand, sniffed and said, "What is this? I'm here to kill you!" He takes out his wand.

"AVADA KAVADRA!" he yells.

Harry stops laughing. A beam of green light came from Snape's wand.

"Dude, this is so not cool," he says, and he jump;s out of the way.

Neville comes in the room.

"Hey," said Harry, and he takes his wand out. "Can you battle him for me? I'm tired," said Harry, and walks out of the room. Neville stood there.

"AVADA KAVADRA!" said Snape. Once again, the green beam comes out, but it hits Harry instead of Neville. Harry died. Neville cried, and then all that bad stuff.

I made this up in five minutes. You know, this is good stuff, JKR should use it.

The death eaters surrounded Harry and Voldemort. Voldemort had a wide smile on his face, and Snape briskly walked up to Harry and punched him in the stomach. "My lord," he said, "would you like it if I killed the boy?"
Voldemort's smile disapeared. "Why would you ask such a dumb question?" The other death eater's stired.
"I'm sorry Lord Voldemort." He backed up and joined the others once again.
"I'm glad you know your allegiance Severus, you've been very suspicious ever since Dumbledore died."
"Yes...ever since Dumbledore died..."
Harry looked towards the door as if he wanted to leave, but he couldn't for some reason. It felt as though he were trapped.
"Whats wrong Potter?"asked Snape. Harry remained silent. "Very well," each death eater raised their wands and shouted AVADA KEDAVRA.
Voldemort fell to the ground dead.
Bellatrix Lestrange revealed herself behind her hood. "MASTER!"
"It seems in our hurry we killed Voldemort," said Snape. "what a pitty."
Suddenly Neville bursts in. "Harry! I just pressed this red button that said not to push, whats gonna happen........."

The world explodes

everyone in the entire world dies apart from Ron and hermione and they need to repopulate the world, then while walking home a meteor strikes them and they both die.

Fawkes continued to circle them as the torch burned even brighter. He sang brightly as Harry struggled with Voldemort's spell. Voldemort chuckled and sent the Killing Curse at the blur of red feathers. The majestic bird erupted into flame, and his ashes met the licking torch flames.
"FAWKES!" Harry shouted.
"Shut up, boy! Its a bloody bird! Now...your turn....Avada Kedavra!"

"Wake up, boy! No time to lose! Duddykins birthday is about to begin and we wont want to miss the best shows at the zoo! Hurry up!"

We have some imagination. Ya'lls endings ae awesome. But not good enough to end the series I'm afraid.

Voldemort and his death eaters are facing Harry, his friends and the Order when suddenly someone comes running in between them...

i wanted to post, but i opened this topic and saw that the very first reply (harry4_LyF'S) was exactly what i wanted to post, so... actually i think i posted this in the thread Michelle Desler mentioned. so... why i'm writing this? i don't know.

The possibilities are endless...but I like my new character:

Okay, I got a new one; Voldemort captures Harry and takes him back to his top secret headquarters:

"You will be carrying out every single chore and task that I give you, or your little girlfriend will not see the end of that dreadful day you defy me" Voldemort explained to Harry.

"I understand my Lord" Harry replied.

"However, I have some good news...I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Gieco!"

But just as Lord Voldemort told Harry this wonderful news, Wormtail read the headlines of the Daily Prophet "Gieco Associated with the Enron Scandal: Shut Down".

Then, in his understandable rage, Lord Voldemort shot a flash of green light at Harry that hit directly on the young boy's scar.

Oooh, whenever Harry wakes up from a dream during a muggle class during english. (Sounds like me if you ask me...):

"POTTER!" souted the teacher.

Harry snorted and wiped off his drool with his sleeve. He was sleeping. "What, but hey, I WAS BATTLING VOLDEMORT YOU STUPID MUGGLE!"

"Why I ouchta-" But before she finished, harry was back asleep, dreaming of the time he was riding a fairy unicorn dragon.

the worst ending will be that neville accidentaly kills harry snape married with mcgonagall , hagrid working in gringotts and bellatrix turning good, bill leaving fleur in the wedding for profesor trelawney and hermione becoming divination teacher, ron married with cho chang , and aunt petunia killing voldemort , dudley married with ginny and vernon becoming new ministry of magic, and hogwarts explode after a terrible joke from peeves, the death eaters been killed bye the domestic elf, and dumbledore returning because he never dies it was his clone , snape changing his black clothes for a rainbown ones and malfoy marring pansy parkinson and having 27 childrens and moving to weasley's house and the weasleys winning the lottery and moving to a palace where molly get lost and travel in time to the futures where everyone need a mom so annoying like her. and in order to remeber harry everyone put a sacr in the forehead.

I will propably kill Rowling, if Harry has only be dreaming this all. That would be the one of the worst ending deffinetly. It would be stupid to, if Harry would just walk to Voldemort, kill him with one spell and then live happily ever after. I might be a little mental 'cause I think like this but I want that Harry will have to suffer before he can kill Voldemort, it can't be too easy. I wouldn't like it either if some DE would just kill Harry and Voldy would congure the world,or Harry some else way dies for nothing.
