I think that will be an exciting part of the movie, flying out of hogwarts on brooms, Umbridge furious and confused, it will I think will be a great scene of the movie.

I will absolutely love to see this scene, and I think it's one of the best scenes in the entire series. But unfortunately, we have to face the very real possibility that it will be cut. I don't think it will be, and I certainly hope it won't be cut. And if it's not cut, then I'll be looking forward to that part of the movie more than any other.

On the whole, it seems to me like they leave a lot of the twins' scenes in the movies. Relatively speaking, there's more twins in the movies then there are in the books, I think anyways, so I think they will definietely keep that scene.

Dec 6 2005, 07:40 AM
I think it has to be a pretty safe bet that this scene will be kept in, and most likely, even enhanced a bit.
Phoenix is a very dark book. Just as in Goblet, and even more so in this one, to keep the flow of the film from sinking too low into darkness, they will have to play up the humor and other bits.
This really will probably be the funniest scene in the movie and has huge potential, especially considering how good the Phelps twins are.

The twins are very 'bankable', you can be sure they will keep this scene, or something very similar.
Just look at GOF.
They cut the twins gambling subplot, but gave them four different betting scenes.

that will be the most hilarious part of the movie, im sure
it is so much fun to read and im soo looking forward to seeing it.
the Phelps twins with Imelda Staunton...sounds amazing, dont you think?

This is the scene I am most looking forward to. I would be surprised, quite honestly, if they cut this scene. This book is a lot darker and it'd be good to have that laugh in there. Besides, most fans would want to see it and so I feel it'll be similar to the Yule Ball, not really necessary but the one scene that most people wanted included in the movie. I think that the Phelps twins are perfect for the roles so I think that it will be played off magnificently no matter how they (producer/director) portray it.

It'll be brilliant. I can't see it being cut out of the movie. It was too big of an occurence.

I agree with everybody, the twins are the comedy relief in the book. If they do not include enough scenes with the twins, the movie will be a torture.
Just imagine, only scenes with Umbridge being mean, Harry being turtured and Draco bullying everyone.
We need to see the twins causing chaos!!!
and above all, leaving triumphantly!

The twins are great, they add the right amount of humor to the
films. But, as other people have said, they don't get enough scenes,
so I'm sure they will keep this scene in.
Although they are in the sixth book this is their last time at Hogwarts,
so they should be sent out with a bang.
I loved the scene in the book and I can't wait to see it on the big
screen.
And to see the look on ugly Umbridge's face when the twins fly off into the sunset.

I hope they don't make it too short and they make it very glorious.
I say glorious because everyone was dying to do exactly what they did, but they had the guts to do it, specially knowing what would be of them once their mom found out!
It would be really cool if they showed the twins doing some funny face to Umbridge just to make her more angry.
I also hope than in this movie they show Peeves, because in non of the other movies the ghost has made an appearance (so shy) and I was really looking forward to seeing him when the first movie came out, I hope my wish comes true on this one.

I hope they don't cut this scene from the movie. it is one of my favorites because it shows umbridge. fred and george are great characters and they go out in style in the order of the phoenix. this is an important scene that must be shown because fred and george are finally leaving hogwarts without graduating and to go off and start their shop. it should be just like the book describes it and i hope every bit of it is great.

what i'm really worried about is if peevs is going to be there. they havn't introduced him ye and i'm starting to get anxious. i love his role in the fifth book

Jul 10 2006, 01:47 PM
Hmm, I don't think they'll bother with Peeves because like you say he's not been introduced in the films. They can easily make it really cool though seeing as Fred and George are the highlight of that scene. They've always been pretty funny in the films so I'm confident they'll pull it off again.

i love this scene! i really hope they put this scene in the movie, so that there's more humor in the movie because the movie is mostly dark and depressing... but since peeves hasn't been in the last 4 movies, they couldn't just suddenly add him, so hopefully they'll just do the scene, but not with peeves... it would still be funny to see even though peeves isn't in there!

I agree with everyone in saying that I don't think they'll cut that scene. The OotP is a dark book and they always find a way to add some comedy in, which the Phelps twins are perfect for! I love that scene and I think it's a favorite, but I don't think Peeves will be there because he hasn't been present. It would be weird to just add him in there. I do like him, but I doubt he'll be present.

To be honest, I see it being cut.
It dosen't really affect any major storyline.

Maybe the scene is not really helpful to the plot, but it's so refreshing and so funny! I seriously doubt they will dare to cut it. Perhaps the scene wlil be shortened, but not cut. I just can't imagine OotP without it..

Well...the film will be a very dark movie, it will probably be the darkest one we have encountered yes, so it will need something to balance it out, and what better way to do that than humour? I hope they show the swamp and the fireworks, but most of all I do want them to show Fred and Georges' escape. It will be one of those memorable moments that we will remember, and this is the last time we will see Fred and George at Hogwarts in the movies, so what better way than to go out with a bang?

to me this one one of the highlight moments in the book..and I think it is an important scene because we don't see Fred and George in Hogwarts anymore..and people will get confused. Plus this movie will be very dark..and I think that if there isn't a bit of humor it will seem weird..because all the harry potter movies are dark (to some degree) but there are always funny moments or lines that lighten them up..at least for that scene.

Trust me. The Harry Potter movies are relentless about droping things without any explanataions. Even then, they will probably mention that they graduated.

I agree that this will be a great scene in the movie. And unlike a lot of other great Weasely twins moments they probably won't cut that one. I think that it was so fantastically written. It was a perfect Fred & George moment!

i will be deeply angered if this scene is not there. I mean they have to get them out of the school somehow dont they. This scene and the firework scenes are a must in my book. I dont know what i would have done with myself if they werent there in book five. they kept me sane.

Anyway,. No, it isn't an important to any major stoyline......
It affects virtualy nothing other than the twins themselves who are not used very much in to movies anyway.

Why do they have to spend much time on the plot of OotP? They would do better to get all of the humor they can onto the screen, and give just enough of the plot to get to the ending.
Thus,
- F&G's escape - definitely in.
- H&Cho in Madame Puddifoot's - in
- The three broomsticks - in
- "Weasly is our king" - definitely in.
- Rita Skeeter - out. It would be funnier, and faster, if Loona or her father did the interview.
About the kiss,
"... We did many, many, many takes and it’s very tender and loving, as the first kiss should be," (From the Directors interview on today's front page.)

That scene is so bloody brilliant. If they cut it, I will stomp on David Yates!!! And if they cut it, the movie will have less humor and be less entertaining.

The won't put it in cause it costs too much money. The budget it apparently only 150 mill, so there isn't a lot of room for useless cg effects. The broom scenes caust a sh*t load of money to do cause the cg has to be extremly detailed to pull of the likeness of the characters.

They have to have fred and george's escape! That bit is totally awesome! If they dont have that then they cant have harry talking to sirius in the fire can they? Then they might just cut out the whole pensieve part and that would muck it up!!!
i want to see him kiss her, i just wonder how shes gonna cry and kiss him and the same time!!!

I am so excited for this scene, and i'm pretty sure that they aren't gonna leave it out because it will probably be the funniest scene. OOTP is a really dark book, even darker than GOF. The Weasley twins will have to add some humor into the movie, as they have before.

Same thing for me. It will add some humor to a dark movie. Yea it will be hilarious. I am also looking forward to seeing Peeves respecting the twins.
