Similarites between Harry and Fawkes
There are both Dumbledores favourites
they will sacrifice themselves for others
They both show ultimate loyalty to dumbledore and hatred against tom
there is a possibilty Harry will be reborn after Tom's downfall which links him to the regeneration power of pheonixes
Fawkes name
The obvious thing is that Fawkes may be named after the Guy Fawkes who is famous for the gun powder plot even though he was not the leader. Gunpowder explodes and that would make fire which is connected to pheonixes

Although they seem to have similarities, I am not sure what you are asking. Are you just giving a statement, if so then I agree that they do hae remarkable similarities, but the rebirth after the death of Voldy is where you have me confused. He won't die, or return to infancy, he will just have survived and moved on with his life.
The gunpowder name this is intereresting, but I don't think it has anything to do with Harry.

I don't see why this should happen since Harry is not a Phoenix.
Similarities with Fawkes he got, yes, but he's still a human being, not a magical animal.

Does anyone suppose that maybe Pheonix tears could heal the avada kedava curse?

I don't think so, Witherwings71. Once you're dead, you're *dead*. There isn't much left of you to heal after that ...

if you are a phoenix-animagi, would you be something like immortal? you could turn into a phoenix everytime you know you will die and you would be reborn...
what do you think? would that work...?i don't really know what to think...
and i think phoenix tears can just heal injuries... once you are dead you will stay dead

i think there is a way back from death. i mean your saying that all the magic in the world cant bring back the dead. what about the power of love. that is what seperates magic from power. all phoenixes die. i think they just live for a few hundred years being reborn and then they die. there is definately something that connects fawkes to harry.

A wizard can not be brought back from the dead. Dumbledore said this himself I think in the third book. I assume this is right, because Dumbledore has never been wrong. That's right you heard me... never!
Anyways, these similarities are certainly present. I am thinking that the connections they have will not come in to play so much with Harry's supposed "rebirth", but Fawkes may help Harry along the way, and serve as a reminder that Dumbledore is still alive (in spirit).

Since Dumbledore is so fond of Phoenixs', i think he is an animagus. At Dumbledore funeral, they never showed his body. And then a white phoenix came out of the fire around his tomb.

The theories there are amazing.

Well that isn't true. I mean in the third book, BB was killed,
then harry and hermione went back and saved
him with the time turner. So technically if your dead you not so " dead".

rainyDay, you pose an interesting question.
People who are animagi tend to have animal like characteristics to the animal they portry-eg, Wormtail was portrayed as being like a rat, was he not? And Sirius was always loyal and friendly, like a dog.
So if you were a phoenix, maybe you would have some sort of powers? I don't think you would be imortal, but like Hagrid, spells don't easily hurt him. I think it would be harder to kill you osrt of, but i could still be done.
Eh, that's all i can be bothered to come up with right now-Lol.

In an order to revive this topic, and I think it is a wonderfully interesting topic, I am going to add a couple of new questions.
What became of Fawkes after Dumbledore died?
Is Fawkes able to truly die?
Why was Fawkes able to come to Harry's aide in the CoS? Dumbledore was away from Hogwarts at the time so he would't have been able to send him to help Harry right?
We know that Fawkes belonged to Dumbledore and was fiercely loyal to him. We know that he sang a beautiful and mournful lament while flying about the grounds shortly after Dumbledore died. What happened to him afterwards. I wonder if he found another owner or if he went off somewhere to die. Is it even possible for a phoenix to die of natural causes seeing as they are reborn from their ashes after they burst into flames.
