So glad that they appear confirmed to be in the movie. It would have been a nightmare without them, even moreso then with them in it! Can't wait to see more of them.

I knew they where in the movie for a while now and i am so glad.
1. Because anyway they are needed because they need to fly to the Ministry.
2. Because i wanted to see what they looked like.
Well they look really cool and i can't wait to see them in action. It should be intresting.

I hope they put the thestrals in. I think they will as well because they do play a role, transportation part of the reason for Hagrid's sacking. It would be cool to see what they look like and I think it shows them in the trailor see here:

The thestrals are in the movie! I've seen them in one of the trailers... they look as if they have dragon-like wings... it was a group shot of them flying to the ministry.

The thestrals in the movie are not exactly as I pictured them. From the way JKR describes them in the book, I had envisioned them to look more like horses but skinnier and with wings. These thestrals look almost dragon like just in a smaller version and with longer legs.
Don't get me wrong, the movie thestrals look neat and all. I think they did a really good job especially since it must all be computer animated. Their just not what I imagined them to be.

I agree LittleRed, I imagined them (and read them to be) thinner than horses, leather-like skin, etc. These do look pretty different but I'll live with them. At least they're in the movie instead of them flying to the Department of Mysteries on brooms or something
I'm more concerned about them changing the dementors! But thats off-topic...

Well yes, atleast they are in the movie. I was afraid they might cut them out.
On the other hand, they look a bit like Jurassic Park : III's pterodactyls. That wasn't what I expected. Um, I rather thought they'd actually be just skeleton with skin hanging on them, but I suppose that wouldn't look too good.

They can't cut the Thestrals!!!
In every movie, the filmakers put a new creature, (Firence,Troll, Basilisk, Aragog, Fawks, Dobby, Buckbeack, Dementors, Dragons, Merpeople) so in this movie the Thestrals are the new adittion to the magical creatures.
And they are the only way to travel to the MoM. Daaaaa!

I'm glad the thestrals are in the movie. I was pleased to see them in the trailer. They were a bit more reptile-like than I imagined them but I think they look neat. I did picture them more like horses. I'm not too surpised they didn't cut them, though. How else would they have gotten the DA members to the ministry?

I agree, they look to dragonish to me. They look neat and all, but I pictured like a black, leathery anorexic horse with wings. Atleast they made the cut though!

I think they looked weird. I always pictured them as giant things with tons of hair. They looked horse-ish

Are they not supposed to be "horse-ish"?
I thought they were pretty cool! They weren't exactly as I had expected but I liked them a lot. And I also like how Luna explained to Harry about how people could only see them if they've seen someone die. I thought that worked out nicely.
