That's an outrage for me. Grr! I actually WANT the same cast in all the movies. Well, its just a silly rumor because they've already started the filming..since July I think. Just disregard it, but if it's officially announced, that's when you COMPLETELY believe it. Otherwise, its false. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me!

They are all doing GoF. Whether or not they do OotP remains to be seen as they can only commit them to one movie at a time (I think that's a legal thing in the UK)

I think they have a better than average chance of doing all seven, though.

i think they will do all of the movies or at least the first five or six. they are getting older than their characters but they still look pretty much the same age as their supposed to be in the story. besides, if they change the cast everything will go haywire. it wont be the same. it would be EXTREMELY akward for me if i saw a harry potter movie and it didnt star dan, emma, and rupert

They're was an update on Veritaserum that they were going to stay for the fifth movie, along with some of the other doubtful cast members.

I think that we have a good chance that they are staying on for all the movies. Because at the moment in a recent interview one of them said how good it was to get all the attention. And I suppose that if they like the attention they will stay.

The only member of the infamous trio who is most doubtful is Daniel because he has musical aspirations but I think that he will stay because he said how weird it would feel for someone else to play Harry.

I really really really hope they all stay...
When I read the books I pretty much see the actors, with slight differences!

I just think it would be really odd seeing anyone else playing those characters. I'd still see the movies, but it just wouldn't be the same..

I heard that they were signed up to do five....I could be wrong though. I hope they do do the fifth movie - it wouldn't be the same if they didn't.

They're definitely only signed to do GOF as it is at the moment.

If nothing else, the ever-expanding budget should mean even if they are hesitant to do more, Warners can afford to entice them to stay.

Not that they wouldn't want to stay anyway, of course.

That's just SENSELESS. Unless, any of them wish not to act in the 5th movie...but apart from that, it's just unthinkable. I hope it does not happen. It would cost me a lot to accustom myself to new actors and I'm sure that it would cost millions in profit to WB company, so...

Daniel had already confirmed himself on the OotP movie. I also hope for the others because Harry Potter movies wouldn't be the same without the original casts...

Oh man..i really hope that all of them come back...I know Dan is..But not only do i want emma and rupert back too but everyone like the phelps twins, devon murray, matthew, and everyone else...it just wouldn't be the same with them...If they did change the characters..then i dunno if i'd want to go see the movie as much..I'd be too outraged! Also..I think alot more ppl wouldn't go see the movies...the HP movie rating would probably go down...and they don't wnat that do they?! hehehe

in an update today it on emma-watson.net it said that, "she has good reason to belive that herself, Dan & Rupert will not be replaced by younger actors." so i am pretty sure all 3 of them will be back

The timeline is a little scary if you think about it... How old will they all be when it is time to make the seventh movie? We aren't sure when the book will be release let alone the movie be made and released. I hope they are allowed to continue in these roles.

On a side note - I'm hoping they keep Gary Oldman for the OotP. I seriously can't imagine anyone else to play Harry's godfather.

I think it will be really stupid of the directors if the actors won't be allowed to be in the HP movies because of their age. Just a few days ago I saw the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and some actresses there (Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel) were playing the roles of 16-year olds, while their real age is 22, 23. And they did great! So it will be great if they kept the same cast for all the movies!

I heartily agree with Ms.Know-it-all, I reckon there is no reason any of them should have to be replaced (except stuff thats out of their control).

As far as I can tell, all the HP related sites that have any info, suggest the usual cast will return.

Concerning age: I dont think it will make a blind bit of difference if they are a year or two or even three years older than the characters. I am sure it would be easier accepting them all as a bit older, than as completely different people!

I'm very fond of Dan, Rupert and Emma as the trio, and the other students as they are too. Big mistake to replace them.

We have become attached to the trio every since the 1st movie. It's how imagined Harry, Ron and Hermione would look like on screen and in reallife. And i bet they know to that if they didn't sign up for OotP there would be many angry fans, as well as probably no one would go to the movie because, it just would be to awkward. Some one else waking up with a scar on there forward and the glasses. I would never be abl to face it.

they are going to be in the movie. It is positive that harry will, at least. The only character who might not be in the movie is tom felton, draco.

Emma, Dan, and Rupert are definitely going to be in OoTP. They're on the official cast list. I heard that whatever Dan does (with being in the films), Emma and Rupert will probably follow him. So, if Dan goes Emma and Rupert probably will as well.

i hope that rumor isn't true. i mean, we couldn't control it if ever, but then, what made me fall in love with the movie (the 1st one) was how dan, emma, and rupert lived up to my expectations of how they would look like... of course, as time goes by, and movies made, we've loved them more and more. i even see their faces reading the books (over and over). well, what i'm pointing at is, it's really an outrage. i hope it really isn't true. after all, i heard that when the trio were casted in the 1st movie, they signed a contract into being in all the movies. i'm not sure. yay.

they better do all of the movies and i really dont see why they shouldnt because in the books the characters grow up, and so are the actors and they are the same age as the characters, soo yea it makes sense. if not then i prbly wont see the rest of the movies because i love all of the crew right now *hugs them* lol

It wouldn't seem right if any of the characters were replaced. But it has happened (Dumbledore). But it's differant for Dan, Rupert, and Emma. They're the ones who everyone is crazy about! If they left right in the middle of the series I know I would be extremely dissapointed becuase they are the ones I like to watch! Still, it's a rumor, not a fact. But let's keep our fingers crossed, just incase!

dumbledore being replaced was inevitable... i had thought that they might have to replace the main three because they might grow too old for their parts... but i just read an interview from the front page and the director was quoted as saying he feels that they will stay for all seven movies.

well ive heard that dan radcliff (harry potter) is the only one signed on for the fifth movie....

Hi godric and welcome to the forums.. first off I would like to say that yes as of now Dan Radcliff is the only one signed for the fifth but they expect that the other two (Emma and Rupert) are going to sign as well its just not public yet...according to IMbd.com they are signed on (the trio) but I think only Dans agent has said for sure...the others are just speculation...

As far as them getting older...well, the characters are getting older as well..so it fits. None of them has aged so much they look older than the age of the characters. I cant see why any of them would be taken off. I will be seriously hurt if they are! lol

I hope all the actors and actresses in Harr Potter stay. Everyone is already attached to them like a real person. Who cares if they are older than the character ages ;) ! Fans just want to see the book come alive, that's all :) ! We are so used to them, it's not even funny.

If Dan wasn't staying in a more future movie, eg 6 or 7 because he is staying for 5, I would scream, cry, write letters of complaint etc. You name I would so kill some people. If anyone else left eg. Emma, Rupert or Tom I wouldn't be as heart broken but I would still send letters of complaint.

well i think they would be able to stay for most of the movies, i mean when teens grow older they might BE one age, but look totally older. I know a 10th grader who looks about 20 years old. So still possible they could stay for the remainder of the films. I would defiently stop watching though if Rupert or Dan left

yes it would but quite stupid if they all of a sudden switch the characters because that's pretty ridiculus..when they started making these movies they should have decided to commit to the actors. that being said i have always thought taht they should have made a....more cautious choice in actors. i mean....come on...dan? really? blets just say he won't be getting an oscar anytime soon. i think they should have based their decision more on acting ability than looks because....i mean that's why they have make up right? but to give them a break, how were they to know who would become a superior actor....meh. so that's all
