Hello everybody

Here a new poll about Computer Animation Films, there are always more that come out, so i thought it would be an interesting theme ...

I voted Finding Nemo because it's simply the best of the ones that i have seen (my opinion wink.gif )

There are nevertheless some films that i haven't seen unsure.gif

Hehehe... Finding Nemo was well done, I agree. I have to admit that the most of the movies up there were well done i.e. Shrek (1 and 2) Finding Nemo, The Incredibles etc... However seeing as the Polls options only allow you to vote for one thing and only vote once... rolleyes.gif

I had to vote for Ice Age. I think that it is an extraordinary animation scheme. The creators really do have the whole 3D concept thing going. wink.gif It's possibly one of my favorite animations to this day... smile.gif I can't wait for the 2nd to come out. I'll be in the theater, the first day it hits the big screen, I can tell ya that! laugh.gif

Also, I really want to see Happy Feet. Too bad it comes out so late. (November ... *snif*) There's another thing I'm going to be going to opening day! tongue.gif

Anyway, I really the idea for this topic. We have movie threads all over VTM at the moment, though specific animation films are different to me. smile.gif

See you around!

So it has to be a CGI one? I thought Shrek 2 was class. Really good film, great story and lots of fun references and great animation and songs.

Toy Story was really good too. Dunno about Toy Story 2, I wanna see it on DVD. I think I may have seen it once, but if I did, I've forgotten the plot...

Oh, and um, reflecting my somewhat more unusual interests, Care Bears: Big Wish Movie...
misshaunted390
Ice Age!!!!!!!!!! Ingenious CGI, totally perfect!!!!!!!!

Scrat is just amazing, and the backgrounds/scenes, and the sabers, and the mammoths, and the freaky dinosour thingy in the ice caves, and the evolution into Sid effect, and even the people are so realistic. Oh, Sid, can't forget Sid the Sloth (looks just like my sloth of a sister wink.gif !-Sorry, Sammy, didn't mean that... much...hee hee) biggrin.gif

Oh I could watch it a thousand times and still love it! Go Ice Age, and some time this year, Go Ice Age 2 Meltdown!!!

Finding Nemo is brilliant too, and Shrek. They're both excellent Animations. Toy Story's a good animation, but I don't personally like the films much.
Oh, A Bug's Life is good too. I like a lot of Pixar animations.

Wait!!!!!! What about Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit; Curse of the Were-rabbit???!!! They're fantastic!!!!!!!!! Oh, I like so many...

I think this was a very hard decision to make, thanks alot!
I think Shrek1 and 2 are the best, but then Finding Nemo and Madagascar are a close second.I love Dreamworks cos they are so good at animation and they have had hits at animation films. biggrin.gif
I also think Ice Age is so cool and Scrat is so cute and funny with his acorn... rolleyes.gif
beauxbaton1000
Finding Nemo ... really cute and funny and well done!! I LOVE DORY!! and ... Darla. laugh.gif all those are pretty good but NEMO is the unltimate.

I do like most of those movies, but I had to choose other.

When I think of the detail and quality of the movie, I'd pick Corpse Bride (Tim Burton animated film) Heh, I really think that movie is funny!

If I were to pick one of the poll options, I'd have to pick Shrek 2 because of it's great humor! (and for once, the sequel wasn't trashy like most...where the animation is worse the second time)
Anna N Ashley
Well i think i loved watching ice aga and shrek 1.
HPFAN05
I voted for Finding Nemo. It's a really cute movie and I love Dory.
Dory:"Are you my consience?"
Merlin:"Yes. It seems we haven't spoken in awhile"

That part is really funny. tongue.gif
Snowdrop
Guess what, I've also voted for Finding Nemo. wink.gif I'm not fond of animation films, I basically find them too childish, but I really love Finding Nemo, it is cute and funny and nicely done. blush.gif
lozza-cm
i voted for ice age, i love both finding nemo and ice age and it killed me to have to choose...i love the story line to finding nemo but i love the one liners and comedy in ice age...if that makes sence! tongue.gif
HPfan#1
I found it quite hard to choose just one movie to vote for but i chose Ice Age because i think it is really funny i also would have voted for Shrek 1 and 2, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.
lancelot243
I voted fore the incredibles because i have seen it about 5 times and it is always good, it is a movie you can watch over and over... i also could have voted for finding nemo or shrek but the incredibles takes the cake
Spencer Potter
Toy Story by far, I loved toys when I was little, and I swear to Harry Potter when I was little I watched that show everyday atleast twice, I was in love, I liked it soo much! happy.gif
Pirate87
I voted for Shrek 2 that's one of my favorite movies
Seni
Shrek. Shrek 2 also, but Shrek is better.
I can't find any other film I'd voted for. Maybe other. I though Prince of Egypt but that's more a cartoon that an animated film...I mean, it's drawn.
Lulu
I voted Ice age. I think that's the most funny one. Also Ice age 2 was really funny.
I liked many of the other films to but they had many parts that were'nt that interesting and the second and third time you watched them the parts sort of became a littel boring.
So my vote is for Ice Age!

I really liked Toy Story 2.. That was really great, i remember watching it at the cinemas and that was ages ago.

Shrek is a great film wasn't to sure about the second though.

Ice Age was also great..

Finding Nemo was really sad at start but was a great film.

I voted Toy story 2 but there is lots more.. laugh.gif
little_aussie_witch92
I love Finding Nemo for many reasons. Nemo is sooooooo cute, and Dory is hilarious!! I love the sharks, and it's just so well done and well written. I also love that alot of it is set in Australia (or at least Australian waters) 'cause that's where I live biggrin.gif Sydney sure is a beautiful place, especially the Harbour Bridge. I climbed it once biggrin.gif

So ya, Finding Nemo all the way!
phoenix_song
I'm not a huge fan of animated movies in any way, but I really, really liked Ice Age. I don't like Ray Ramono(sp?) but Dennis Leary did a great job. That movie was just reallly funny, and had a lot of heart behind it. Not to mention it took place during the Ice Age. (duh. hence the title) I just really like anything that has nothing to do with the times that we live in, and the animators did an excellent job on making the animals come to life. Sad part is that I haven't seen the second one yet. Is that even worth seeing?

JSB 073

miss granger
aargh! I love all of them!!!
I LOVE Shreck 1 & 2 (I'm going to see 3 when it comes out - on my birthday!) Over the Hedge is really funny too.
But my favourite has to be A Bugs Life! Me and my friend are obsessed!
It's so funny!

aw darn! I was torn between Shrek 2 and Finding Nemo. I voted for Shrek 2 because I love how that movie had humor for children and humor for adults that wasn't too profain for children. As for Finding Nemo, its just a cute movie that I fell in love with!
Accidentprone25
I love Finding Nemo!. I also like all of those other movies, but Finding Nemo rocks. My friends call me Nemo, because I love the water. (sorry that was off topic)
HPFan792
I had to vote for finding nemo. I like Shrek but finding nemo was better in my opinion. It was so funny and cute. I loved it!
Ladie Lily Potter
I voted Madagascar! Woot! It's only my favourite animated movie ever!! I love King Julian ... he's my darlin'! haha. My friend Katrina and I are going to make a real-live re-make of it. Haha ... oh yeah. We're cool like that. Be jealous!
EMILUBE37
I have to say this was a tough one. unsure.gif But I vote Chicken Little. I think it's just a funny new look at a classic story of overreaction. I fully beleive that there are aleins, and it was nice to see them as loving creatures like us. On a lighter note, my mom says my boyfriends will be like Chicken Little. Doofy guys that are picked on, but cute and internally cool. wub.gif

Finding Nemo is really good, but my other two favorite animated movies would have to be Monster House, which is really quite hilarious for all ages and lots of people can find humor in it, and Surf's Up, which just came out in theaters, but it is still really good. It's a cute story and it puts you through a range of emotions and it's over all a really great movie.

Other than that, all the Disneys are classic! They made way too many good animated movies back in the '90s. And I also have a strange obsession with the Muppets. unsure.gif Muppets in Space and Muppet Treasure Island are hysterical! I just watched them with my brothers a couple of nights ago and we all can't stop quoting them.
Insomnia
Although I love Shrek and Ice Age, I would have to say my favorite is The Little Mermaid. I've always loved that movie. I guess because I had always wanted to be a mermaid (if they had existed), but since I couldn't, I just enjoyed living through another character through watching the movie. Plus, we are both redheads! tongue.gif And the crab is hilarious.

I have pulled this thread out from the pit of dispair.*hehehehe*

I voted for Chicken Little. I thought it was hilarious plus it was something I could watch with my kids and not get bored. The soundtrack was awesome!

That being said my favorite animated film of all time would have to be Sleeping Beauty or Snow White. I mean these were created in the 1930's and 40's respectively and the animation for that time period was phenomenal. I also like that there was no such thing as political correctness and the bad guys said things like " and all the powers of hell". (sleeping beauty)
I really liked that the witch/evil queen was sketched completely grotesque with her bulging eyes and hooked nose. It is gripping and terrifying and I am not a child. By the way, my kids love those too.
EliasOsiris
I'm guessing Monsters is really Monsters, Inc. I'll admit, I'm a computer geek and all the technology involved in getting the "monsters" to look real was fantastic. The fur looked like fur; oftentimes it was hard to believe I was looking at a computer generated film and not stop motion or something like that.

For blending of computer animation and traditional animation I have to profess that Disney's Mulan is my favorite. The scene where Mulan faces down Khan on the mountain is phenomenal. It looks real. The music, the settings, everything, it overwhelms the senses.
madie
I liked Ice Age a lot! I saw it a couple of times and I didn't get bored. I also liked Madagascar very much. Animation Films are really cute. I like them better that other movies although I watch a lot of TV shows. But they rock!

I completely forgot about Mulan!!! I went through a time period where I watched Mulan about three or four times a day when my son was a little younger and I never got tired of it. It appealed to me more I think because it was loosly based on a historic time period and Chinese legend.
Nasuada
I love Finding Nemo! I've seen it so many times. I think it's so cute. My siblings and I are constantly quoting from it. Dory is so funny! She cracks me up every time! Bruce it great too! "Fish are friends, not food." laugh.gif Monsters Inc. is really good too though. I like a lot of them.

P.S. I forgot about the Polar Express! That was a great movie! Everything looked so real. Oh, now I wish I had voted for that one. Too late.

I love Shrek, the three, but mainly the first one, because it's ... awesome! I'm not a big fan of animation movies, as I'm not going to a cinema to see one, but I like Corpse Bride, Ice Age, Madagascar ... And all the old Disney movies, of course: Snow White, the Sleepy Beauty, Beauty and Beast, Little Mermaid, and my favourite ever, the Lion King. I cried a lot over it!!
lancelot243
My favorite would have to be Aladin. That is just such an awesome movie!! I've been watching since i was a little kid, and i would watch it today if it came on tv. Lion King is also one of my favorites, but Aladin is definitely my fave
Lord Skinner
My favorite animated movie isnt a cgi one its the Lion King. This movie was an instant classic when it came out and even though i grew up on it, it still dosent get old. The animation was amazing on how the characters looked like their real life animal counter parts. The music was amazing and so was the overall story.
Bill Weezly
definitely finding nemo! you can't help but love dory, seriously. that movie is absolutely hilarious. Pixar is way better than Dreamworks. Although i did sort of like kung fu panda. but still i say finding nemo is the best.
alkisti
I think that no matter how old I grow, I'll never stop loving animation films! They are absolutely amazing! I really can't pick one...I loved Nemo, Cars, Chicken Little, Corpse Bride, Ratatouille...I'm not sure why they're so magical, but animation films have found the way of turning a simple plotline into a great entertaining yet deep story! There are so many animations I haven't managed to watch yet, and so many I'm looking forward to, such as "Up", which will be released here at the end of August.

Last night I watched "Coraline". Has anyone seen it? It was so Tim Burton-ish, especially the beginning with the sewing of the doll. It's amazing how much work it takes to make such a movie. To be honest, I'd rather spend my money on an animation film, than a real one. It takes great imagination and effort to make such a movie, and I believe that this type of cinema needs all of our support.

On a sidenote, I'm not sure if those movies are for kids. Some are obviously. But others...well, they go deeper than a nice happy-ending story. smile.gif
MrBubbles
If were talking traditional animation it has to be Aladdin(mainly because of my favorite villain Jafar).

But if were talking 3d movies well, anything by Pixar really. Though if I were obliged to honor one of them itīs probably Ratatouille because when I finished watching it for the first time I had a huge smile on my face and just wanted to see it again.

Dreamworks are a litlle hit and miss but Kung fu Panda was pretty awesome indeed. happy.gif
