Just the Droobles
laugh.gif !

Hmm....I never know what to pick....

QUOTE
"But you don't use them?"

Once again, I hope there is only one. If not, I will give it to whoever. Good Luck! smile.gif
passerby
Er, um. . .okay. . . I might as well go ahead and take a gander at it.

My guess is Mr. Ollivander to Hagrid in the first book talking about his wand? How Hagrid still has the pieces? Isn't it when Harry is buying his own wand and Ollivander is talking about how he remembers every wand he's ever sold? I should go check, shouldn't I? Nah, it's more fun not to.

Just the Droobles
Aww... sad.gif my quote didn't even last for a half an hour....

Yes, you got it Janet! Hopefully yours will be tougher than mine... rolleyes.gif
passerby
Okay, I'm not good at giving hard ones. They usually last about as long as Aubrey's last one! biggrin.gif (Because Pixy knows ALL)

The quote is:

"It was horrible,"

Have fun and humor me for a bit. . .
Hermione_Resilda
Ah..a lot of things are horrible, hehe. I think it's Neville in the CoS movie talking about the Howler his grandma sent him. I have no idea if it's in the book because it's lost at the moment... ph34r.gif (even though I did use it about two days ago for my quote.. *sigh*)
karsh05
O....hmm, I know there are most likely many "it was horrible"s in the series, but I have several guesses!

-Could it be when Hagrid was talking about his trip in azkaban?
-Neville when he was talking about witnessing the cruciatius curse or having it performed on him.
-I know hermione says "This is horrible. How can they not know who conjured it" in the movie GOF, when they are on the Hogwarts Express, however, I recently read that part in GOF, and I'm pretty sure it's not in the book.

Hmm...thats really what all I can think of for now, but I will keep looking!

ta,
-karsh-
passerby
Okay, you both have mentioned the right person who said it; and one of you has mentioned the right scenario with the wrong person. . .so if you can figure out the mess between, then you've got the right answer!

I was thinking, there probaby are a lot of "it was horrible" lines in HP. I should go searching to see. . .
Pixymajik
Awwww sleep.gif Thanks Janet! wink.gif But I don't--- and a lot of the time someone else gets in here first!

I DO know this one though- it's Neville in POA. They are all on the train just after the Dementor has come in and they are talking about Harry collapsing, the feelings it caused etc etc.
karsh05
AHA! THAT'S where I heard it before! It really sounded familiar I knew it. Also in the movie, doesnt like ron or someone say it?? I'm pretty sure, I'll have to go check it out. Good job Pixy, you'll be up once passerby confirms!! tongue.gif and I'll be ready!!

ta,
-karsh-
passerby
Okay, Pix. . .you just negated your "But I don't" statement! Hey, I just call them like I see them. Of course, you're right! It was indeed Neville in PoA about the dementor coming onto the train. They just happened to give the line to Hermione in the move. (I noticed that in the movie they give all of Ron's "smart" lines to Hermione as well. . .hmmm. . .a conspiracy)

So you're up, Pixy!
Just the Droobles
You know...even though everyone has already guessed, Neville did say it in the CoS movie when he was talking about the Howler. He was like "My Gran sent me one...it was horrible." and then Ron opens his. So basically there is more than one in the movies. The books I don't know. I have just watched the movies waaaaay too much. Anyway... dots.gif on to the next quote!!!
Pixymajik
The movies DO make this game quite hard- there's a lot of switching of lines (in particular from Ron to Hermione like you said) and there's a load of good lines in the movies that aren't in the books AT ALL, and vice versa.

New Quote----

"I am eager to assist in any way I can"

Hopefully it will be A LITTLE bit tricky!!!
karsh05
hmm...you think since its not very common, it might be a BIT easy, but alas, pixy has landed us with another challenger!! I think it sounds like something percy would say, but you know, thats percy. Maybe it was at the Quiddich World cup, when they were having all the chaos?? I dont know, that doesn't really sound right, its too proper for sometime in such chaos.

hmm...maybe also it could be a death eater talking to either another death eater or maybe even Voldemort..I'm not quite sure I will have to keep hunting!!

ta,
-karsh-
Just the Droobles
I really want to say Percy too...but I'm not entirely sure. You said you hoped it;d be tricky, so I don't really want to think it would be hit. The quote sounds almost pleading. Like a Death Eater. Perhaps I will go scan GoF tonight and find something. Is it a Death Eater? In book 4 or something?
passerby
Ooh!! I know this one! It's Igor Karkaroff during the pensieve moment of his trial in GoF!! He's trying to get out of going back to Azkaban, so he's offering anything he has that they can use because he's DESPERATE! Not that it helped him, in the end. . .but it's got to be Karkaroff!
Pixymajik
You've got it Janet! smile.gif It was Karkaroff.

When I read it I thought it sounded a bit like Percy as well, so I'm glad to see a couple of people thought it might be him! wink.gif
HPgoldsnitch
ohh... that was a hard one, i never would have guessed that until i actually read it in the book. nice one! Good job Janet!! biggrin.gif
passerby
All right, guys. Here's the next quote, though I have a feeling that it's not very difficult. . .sigh. I tried, really!

"There's been a mistake."

Happy hunting!
Hermione_Resilda
Don't you worry, I have the feeling that it is..hehe. For some reason, Snape comes to mind (although that may be because I'm reading tons of fics including him at the moment), but it does. Hm, did he say it in GoF when Harry went to go get Dumbledore because Barty Crouch Sr. had come to Hogwarts, and was out of his mind. Didn't Snape go outside as well? Anyway, that's my guess.

But Dumbledore saying it sometime around HBP just sounded familiar as well.
karsh05
The one thing that comes to mind when I hear that is in POA, when Harry, Ron & Hermione are in the hospital wing, and they find out that Sirius has been captured, and they are saying "there has been a mistake". Only I would guess that that would be more of a excamation quote, but that would be my guess!
ta,
-karsh-
passerby
biggrin.gif Not Snape (love your avatar, Resilda!! But I probably shouldn't be jumping up and down with my hand in the air screaming "me! me!" should I?) Not Dumbledore either! And Karsh, it's not a member of the golden three. . .narrowing it down a bit, aren't we?

It's not in any of the three books mentioned so far, either.

I can just make out the sound of frantically flipping pages. . .
karsh05
OH!!! I know now!!! I was just sitting here thinking, repeting the quote over and over, and It came to me!! In PS/SS, when hagrid comes and announced harry is a wizard and harry....wait...

grr. mad.gif

well, so much for my idea!!! I'll keep "frantically flipping through pages!"

ta,
-karsh-
Hermione_Resilda
Lol Janet! tongue.gif Ah..I knew there would be offers like that when I chose it.

Let's see...what about Sirius? When Harry had come to Grimmauld Place, and they were having dinner, Harry's questions were being answered.
Or Lupin..meh.
passerby
Oh, goodie! It was more difficult than I thought it would be! Woohoo! <does a little happy dance> no videos, please. . .

Okay. No, karsh. . .I have no idea what your guess was. tongue.gif Harry? Nope, wasn't him.

Resilda (really I have to stop raising my hand when I read it!) Nope. Not Sirius either. Oh, and not Lupin.

Not is SS, not in PoA. . .is that helpful? Maybe.
Just the Droobles
Well, you know what, after careful calculations, I narrowed it down to OotP and Cos. I thought it might have been in CoS at one point when maybe someone said something about a mistake being about the Petrified people. But then I think it was in the movies. So I grabbed my OotP book and POOF! there it was! I mean, I haven't taken any Felix Felicis today or anything, but I really had a stroke of luck here. It is in OotP when Ron receives his Prefect badge. Fred says There's been a mistake. And yeah. That's about it.
passerby
Ooh, good job, Droobles!! You are absolutely correct! You know, it's hard to find a good fred and george quote that doesn't give them away right off the bat, their lines are usually quite memorable! I'm glad that this one at least presented half a challenge! You're up, Aubrey!
Just the Droobles
I know what you mean, Janet. Usually, they say pretty memorable stuff. smile.gif

Hmm...guess I should go find a quote then. Let's try...

QUOTE
"Yeah, really amazing,"

Good luck! biggrin.gif
passerby
I don't know why, but it has a ron-vibe to it. Maybe in CoS when Lockart shockingly reveals his pen of wild cornish-pixies? He's gone on and on about them that when he reveals them, Ron sarcastically remarks that it is utterly amazing?? I'm sure that's not it, but it has a good ring to it.
Pixymajik
Oooh, that's a good one. I have a feeling it might have been used a couple of times?

But I *think* Harry says something to that extent to Colin in GOF. Colin is going on and on about Harry being in the Tri-wizard tournament and Harry just kinda agrees with him to shut him up.
Just the Droobles
Alas, here we are again, Pix, getting each others quotes. rolleyes.gif You are right. Colin had to get Harry from class for wand weighing and he's blabbing about how cool it was for Harry to be a Champion.
Was it really used more than once?

Well, I suppose you're up then Pix!
Pixymajik
GAK! i keep seeing that I'm right, thinking 'I'll come back later when I have the books near me' and then forgetting about it.

Sorry guys!

New Quote---

"Why couldn't you just grab a Portkey"
ilew
im really at a loss and dont have any of my books but could that have been harry to dumbledore in i have no clue which book. wink.gif
.:IlEw:.
Ginevra_Molly
oo oo i think i know this one!!!
is it harry to lupin in OotP when the advanced guard comes to collect harry from the dursleys and he is asking why they have to fly?? i hope so!!
Pixymajik
Nope sorry. You are both wrong smile.gif

If noone has any idea after a couple more tries, then I will put in a clue wink.gif
Just the Droobles
Well, I was thinking on the same lines as Ginevra_molly, but seeing as that is wrong...I'm wanting to say it was Ron who said it for some reason...other than that I have no clue. I don't even know which book to start in. Well, after the fourth, but still...
Hermione_Resilda
The first names that popped in my mind were Fred and George...but they'd probably make the quote sound more amusing. So it's after fourth year, and they only used portkeys there twice..not a really big deal (wait, unless you don't count being transported to a graveyard a really big deal... dry.gif ).

So, I think it's either when they all went to visit Mr. Weasley in St. Mungos, they had to travel by train, or when Dumbledore came to get Harry in HBP..but they had to Apparate.
Pixymajik
I'm glad I've finally given a tricky one!! smile.gif

Ok, someone has mentioned the book and someone else has mentioned the character, but so far noone has gotten both of them OR the situation right. Hope that helps... a little wink.gif
beyond_the_veil
I think i've got it! It's in OotP when Harry, Hermione and Ron visit Hagrid when he returns. Hagrid tells them that it took him a month to get to the giants with Madame Maxime. Ron is shocked and asks why he didn't take a Portkey.
Pixymajik
Yep, that's it mate smile.gif

OOTP- As said, the trio went and visited Hagrid and he made reference to why things took so long. Ron- being Ron and really not understanding all things non-magic rolleyes.gif asked him why they didn't take a portkey.

Hagrid explained that they were trying to keep a low profile smile.gif

you're up!
beyond_the_veil
Yay! i got it right-i had just read that part of OotP.Anyway this is my first go so it will probably be really easy.

Quote:

"Yes, it was quite enjoyable you know."

passerby
It sounds luna-esque to me. I'll guess Luna. . .in Order of the Phoenix as they're talking about their summers? Right before she meets Harry? Maybe she's talking to Ginny (because Neville seemed a little uncertain of her)? Now I don't know. That's my guess! I'll stick to it! Luna, OotP, on the Train with her Quibbler!
Hermione_Resilda
Hmm...being on a vacation sounds right to me, as Janet said, but I'm thinking Hermione. Was it her in GoF when Fleur came over to the Gryffindor table to ask for Boulliabaise (sp?), and Ron ask what it was. Hermione replied about having it two summers ago when she went to France...and it was quite enjoyable?
Just the Droobles
Well, at least I had the right character on the last quote. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, for the quote at hand, I would say Luna as well, however...I was going to say HBP after she got back from vacation with her dad and they went looking for Crumple-Horned Snorkacks. Hold on...mmm, yeah think I'm wrong, seeing as I couldn't find it where I thought it'd be. Well I have no idea then...

EDIT: No, I found it. It is in OotP when Ginny asks Luna how her vacation was. And she replies...like that quote. Except she says a few things before and after. So I think that would make Janet correct...
beyond_the_veil
Correct Passerby! It was Luna in OotP on the train when they were talking about their holidays. Looks like it's your turn biggrin.gif
passerby
<does a victory dance!> Stop laughing!

Forgive me, guys. I fear this one is going to be incredibly easy. Hopefully it may be slightly confusing, as it, to me, sounds like several people might have said something like it.

QUOTE
but you can still see it

Happy guessing!
karsh05
hmm... dry.gif You are right, it is rather tricky, as I can think of several situations where that could have been said. However, I am going to go with the part in GOF when they are in the hospital wing, and they are all trying to convince Fudge that the dark lord truly is back, and snape rolls up his sleve and says something like there, you see? Its not as clear as it was, but you can still see it. I dont know, Im just getting to that part in the book, so I will read a bit of that and see if it is either there or helps ring any bells.
passerby
Karsh, that is indeed the correct place in the text I was quoting. To blind as a bat Fudge. He said something like "It's not as dark as it was an hour ago, but you can still see it." Or something like that. Good job. See, not tricky!

Your go!
karsh05
OH! ohmy.gif wow, I really wasn't expecting to get that one! tongue.gif

oK, I'm going to find my book...

-corny jepordy music plays as I run up the stairs like a frantic maniac-

...and I'm back tongue.gif

This one I think is actually really really funny when you think about it, as it's SO ironic!

QUOTE
We're in trouble now...

laugh.gif hehe I know! Lets see how fast you guys can get it!

happy hunting!
HPgoldsnitch
Did Filch or Umbridge say that in OotP? I know Filch said something like "Oh dear, we are in trouble now"

I think I am probably wrong but hey...
~snitch
Just the Droobles
Yeah, Filch said "Oh, dear, we are in trouble" in the CoS movie, but the quote karsh has put sounds more worried to me. Kind of like someone just got caught coming out of a girl's bathroom when the were not supposed to be there. Hmm...I think I'll check that...alas...i was wrong. sleep.gif But I usually am, so what the hay?

Hmm...what is another spot I can try? Well, I have no idea! So if I get a sudden brainwave, I'll let you know! tongue.gif
