I am just going to take a stab at thin air right now.
It sounds to me like something that one of the trio -- most likely Ron -- might have said while they were on their search for the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. Possibly during the giant Wizarding Chess match, right when he realizes that he will have to sacrifice himself for Harry.
Well, I said it is a stab at thin air!

I think it's Hermione in PoA, when they all disarm Snape and knock him out. I have to add more to this because it's one line, so I'll look it up to see.
Nope, that wasn't it. Hermione says, "We attacked a teacher.. We attacked a teacher.. Oh, we're going to be in so much trouble--" darn, thought I had it, too.

hmm...you guys are brainstorming very well and making some very good guesses

oK, done being nice and complimentary: Your all wrong
Hehe, But I will go back to being nice and help you out a bit: Someone HAS mentioned who has said it, and someone has come CLOSE to mentioning what book it was in, but no one has the correct scenerio quite yet!
Keep it up you will get it pretty soon! You're on a roll!!

Okay, I'm almost sure it's in CoS when Dumbledore has been removed from the school. I can't think exactly who says it, but probably Hermione. Or Ron. Or Harry. But I'm sure it's right after that. Unfortunately, I can't remember the text, just the movie. . .drat! Is it in chapter 19 or something like that?
karsh05
Jun 20 2006, 03:50 PM
Yeah, I'll give it to you

It was indeed in Chamber of Secrets, and it was Ron, because if you remember, Hermione is petrified when Dumbledore is removed from the school. Harry and Ron are in Hagrid's hut when Lucius, Fudge, and Dumbledore all come and they take Dumbledore and Hagrid off to Azkaban. Ron then goes "We're in trouble now.." and then says something along the lines of "with dumbledore gone, there'll be an attack a day!" or something of that sort. So anyways, It's your go!

Jun 21 2006, 01:54 AM
You know, I thought they were in Hagrid's hut, but for some reason I thought that they took Hagrid before they took Dumbledore and I couldn't wrap my brain around why the kids would be in Hagrid's hut without Hagrid. Makes sense now. . .at least I sort of had th scenario. . .
Okay, next quote. Hopefully not too easy.

Hmm...For some reason, that reminds me of something Mad-Eye Moody would say

. Sort of menacing and stuff...
Ooh, is it in GoF, when he turns Malfoy into a ferret? Chapter 13 or something. Probably not, but anyway!

I think it's in CoS at the end when Harry frees Dobby. He tries to get away from Lucius Malfoy, but he could've said something like 'come back here', and tried to hex him.
The only other thing I can think of is that it could be in OotP when Harry's trying to go to his room after the encounter with the Dementors, and his uncle wants an explanation.

Ooh, goody! It wasn't as easy as I thought!! <go me! it's my birthday!> Er, sorry about that little song and dance number. . .
It's not Harry. It's not Moody. It's not in CoS. It's not in GoF.
That does a tiny bit of narrowing.

hmmm, maybe something uncle vernon said? in OotP, maybe... *looks in book*

no, not where i thought...
well, it still sounds like uncle vernon to me...
ummmh, i'll think about it...
karsh05
Jun 21 2006, 06:00 PM
Could it possibly have been in POA, when Anut Marge Comes? She gets really mad at Harry and when harry starts to walk away she screams "Come back, Boy!"
Either her or directly after that, when Harry is leaving and comes down the stairs and uncle vernon is telling him to put her back, and that could be when he says that. Yes, that sounds somewhat right...and harry opens his trunk and points his want at him and leaves.
maybe..dont have my books on hand for now so I guess I will check as soon as I get off work.

Ooooh, this is a really good one.
I think it's Madam Hootch in PS/SS. She's talking to Neville after he starts accidently flying away at Broom practice.

Oooooh, I think I know that one and I don't have my books on me!
I think it's Hagrid....ehhhh... it must be POA because he's talking about the Dementors and his experience with Azkaban. He must be talking to the trio (or only a couple of the trio?) and they (Hermione? not sure) says something about him being innocent and Hagrid replying that it doesn't matter.

I think that quote was said in OotP by Harry..or Hermione. It was when they were taking Umbridge to see their 'weapon'. Harry might've warned Hermione about the Centaurs, and Hermione replied by saying something that they wouldn't hurt them because Firenze was their friend, and Harry said that that didn't matter to them.
Heh, that's probably totally wrong, but the quote sounded familiar in that spot (or something to do with Centaurs).
Edit: Whoops! The posts came in at the same time, haha.

I looove quotes. All kinda of quotes. I have literally books full of them, including my 2006 diary, which I usually spend the plane flights overseas transfering bunches of them. I love movie quotes as well. I seem to be able to see a movie once and remember huge transcripts from it. I had Lord of the Rings memorised after seeing it twice

It's probably a little sad on the pathetic side actually. Too bad I can't remember exam-related stuff that well!
Oh well- new quote:

Oh, My, Gosh! If you can believe it, I think I actually know this one!
It's Ron in OoTP, when Fred and George run--erm, fly---away on their brooms. The Next day, Ron says "Yea, it'll be my fault", you know, that they ran away.
But of course, its from OoTP, thats really the only book I can ever get them from, because I know that book like the back of my hand! I love it and have read it so many times its not even funny!
ok, well,

Success, book has been found!
Okay, It's in OotP in a chapter called "Percy and Padfoot":Sirius' head is in the fire in the Gryffindor Common Room, speaking to Harry, Ron and Hermione.
They start talking about Harry's scar hurting when Umbridge touches him, and Sirius says that she isn't a Death Eater, and then Harry replies "She's foul enough to be one..."
Am I right? I have a good feeling about this one...

karsh is right, basically. It is in OotP when Harry comes back from one of his detentions and Harry has his hand in the murtlap juice and Hermione and Ron had been talking about her being a bad teacher. Then it goes on to start talk about the DA lessons. So yeah.

It seems as though that's Ron talking about Umbridge, after she performed her 'moving' speech in the Welcoming Feast.
Either that, or Fred or George in GoF after Rita Skeeter had written her article about what happened at the Quidditch World Cup.

Hermione says it to Moody in Book Four during one of the DADA classes when he wants to use the Imperius Curse on Harry because "Dumbledore wants you to know what it feels like." Or something like that. . .and she's all affronted because he said it was "illegal to use on another human being." Or something like that, too.

Hmm, I think it's Harry in PS/SS. When the trio goes to visit Hagrid, and see Norbert, or the egg. Hagrid explains what's inside it, and Harry remembers that Hagrid told him it was illegal to keep one when they were in Diagon Alley.
