Yep Janet's right! biggrin.gif

The full quote was:

But-but you said it's illegal, proffesor?

But i decided that gave too mcuh away so i removed the Professor!

Your up Janet, make it a good 'un! blink.gif

Nick
passerby
Yay!! Thanks, Nick! Alright. . . I'm hoping that this one will at least make you think twice. . . Hopefully.

QUOTE
which could happen to anyone

Have fun with it and happy guessing!
laudine
Is it in OotP where they all sit in Harry's room at Grimmauld Place after the attack of rthur Weasley and Harry feels all down that he was being posessed and then Ginny talks to him and either Ginny or Hermione says this?
Pixymajik
I'm positive that it's Lee Jordan in his commentary about Quidditch "Flint nearly kills the Gryffindor seeker, which could happen to anyone...", however I can't for the life of me remember which book it is. blink.gif Is it Philospher's/Sorceror's Stone? (And if not, then it's gotta be Prisoner of Azkaban, since the COS match was more focused on Harry vs Draco)
passerby
Pix, I'm giving it to you. . .because I can't for the life of me remember what book it's in either! laugh.gif I found the quote on the internet, but I couldn't track down the book. However, it IS Lee Jordan commentating on a Gryffindor/Slytherin match with Mcgonagall trying to keep him in line. . .Pretty funny scene. Wish I could remember the book.

Good job! (Though, it is known that if Pix comes within a mile of this place, she knows the quote!) You're up!

Pixymajik
Lol smile.gif Thanks Janet- I still haven't found which book it's from! It's got me curious about it and I'm going to have to reread through the first three again.

QUOTE
"This is so stupid-"

Hopefully it's a one-of-a-kind! wink.gif
sinister
Somehow I feel that this was Hermione's words. It's around the time when the boys (Harry & Ron) were fighting/not speeking to eachother and were using her as the middleman, so to speak and she was rather annoyed about the whole thing.
NickHilton
Ummm....perhaps your right sinister....I have a feeling it could possibly be Hermione, during the midnight duel chapter, in Philosophers Stone, but i'm probably wrong...

Oh, and guys that Lee Jordan quote's from PS/SS! biggrin.gif

Nick
redneckwitcherin
Maybe it's Hermione. But I was thinking Draco in POA in one of Hagrid's classes. I'm not sure but he came to mind. Or maybe it was Ron. Sounds like something he would say. Dunno though. I'm going with Draco.
Pixymajik
Oh my gosh! I feel soooo terrible! I was thinking about this thread today and thinking, really need to jump on the person and get the quote back on track. Didn't even think it was me *blush* blush.gif

Sinister is right- it was Hermione when the boys weren't speaking to each other in GOF.

I'm not sure if Sinister is around at the moment, so maybe whoever feels like posting a new quote can do so just to keep the thread moving

Again- my deepest apologies!
sinister
I'm here... and boy am I glad I was right! I haven't read the first three books in a while so I wasn't sure at all... tongue.gif

Don't feel too bad Pixy, it's not like I came here twice every day to check if you'd answered.. rolleyes.gif ...just kidding

But her you go guys, have a blast:

QUOTE
We could go now, if you like
NickHilton
Ummm...challenging...Was it perhpas Hermione to Ron, when he's like 'We should go to the Shrieking Shack some time' then Hermione's like 'We could go now'. I'm talking about when Harry's following them under the Invisibility cloak in POA, when they're in Hogsmeade...

I'm wrong...

Nick
passerby
I'm pretty sure it was Dobby. . .but I can't remember the details. I'm thinking in HBP when Harry asks Dobby and Kreacher to spy on Malfoy. It could have been in any of them since CoS, though. . .we saw Dobby there (maybe it was in the hospital wing?), and in GoF, he helps him with the second task. . .or even OotP. . .I'm sure it's Dobby. Just don't know where.

bluezz
Oh, yes, I remeber now! It was Dobby. When he told Harry about the Room of Requirement and offered to show it to Harry, thus "we could go now, if you like". I think..
HP^4^Life
OK Heres one.. "He probly climbed up into the airing cupboard and died, But I shouldnt get my hopes up." Im asking who said that, My favouite quote of the whole Harry Potter Series so far.

NickHilton
HP^4^Life~ You may want to take a look at the rules of the game. You have to answer correctly rirst before you can post a quote.

P.S. Quotes are usually more subtle, i think everyone here knows it's Sirius wink.gif

Dobby, is that what I am supposed to do?
passerby
HP^4^Life. . .in a sense, yes. But please make sure you're not submitting a one-liner as you have just done. You'll find in the rules (link in my signature) that quotes do not count towards your post length, so you'll still need to elaborate. In this type of quiz thread, I realize that it's hard. . .but do try. Tell us who said the quote, which book it was in, and all the details you can remember surrounding it. Then, in the citations thread, the quote-giver will come back on (eventually) and tell you whether you are right or wrong. So forth and so on. . .just try to elaborate. Too many one-liners, and this topic will probaby be locked as well, and we definately don't want that!

Thanks,
passerby
sinister
Yep! Dobby it is - and I thought I chose a bit more difficult one cool.gif This was from the night when Dobby returned Hedwig to Harry and Harry asked him if he knew a place for the DA to meet in and Dobby would have shown it to Harry right away.

But, passerby was right about Dobby first so I'll pass the ball to you then. I can hardly wait....

EDIT: Hmm... it looks like passerby is somewhat unavailable right now so I guess anyone could just post a quote for us to work on, or do mods have something against my proposition? I think we all just want this thread to stay alive happy.gif
HPgoldsnitch
ok, well since no one has posted a quote I guess i can... I hope there are no objections.

Ok lets see...*goes to find a quote*

QUOTE
"It's all my fault, all my fault,"

*grins evily* haha not really... but I hope that this one is hard enough. huh.gif or easy for those that it comes to. ok, well, good luck!
~Snitch
Hermione_Resilda
I think you're alright, since it has been a while.
Anyway, I think that's Hagrid in PS/SS. It's when he went to visit Harry in the Hospital Wing after his encounter with Voldemort, and Hagrid was blaming himself for spilling to Quirrel how to get past Fluffy.
HPgoldsnitch
Nope, thats not it Hermione _Resilda. Sorry. I think that this may turn out to be a hard one... (of course, i say that then i bet that someone will get it.)lol happy.gif

Where is everyone? They all dissappeared... Well, come back soon!
El Verte Veritas
Its Hermione talking about Flitwick being Stunned by Snape in the sixth book, I believe the chapter is called "The Phoenix Laments"!
Spencer Potter
I was thinking the same El Verte Veritas. I think it is when they just let Snape run by them, them as in Hermione and Ginny. happy.gif happy.gif
Pixymajik
I thought it was HBP, however Dumbledore after he takes the potion when he and Harry are getting the (fake) horcrux. However reading through other people's answers, I think it's a tricky one- there's a few times where I think it- or something like it- could have been said.
bluezz
I'm pretty sure this isn't it, but I'm going to guess anyway. Harry after Sirius's death in book 5? He thinks it's his fault, not practicing occlumency and falling for that dream and all..
Spencer Potter
Yah I was confused on this one, Could of been Hermione, Harry blaming himself for Sirius' death and Dumbledore trying to get the horcrux.
wizkid_12
ya this is very confusing there are like 3 or 4 it could be hermoine after the snape/flitwick thing harry blaming himself for sirius' death and dumbledore while he's drinking the potion....so which one is it??
HPgoldsnitch
Piximajik, I think that I am going to give it to you, because you were right in thinking that it was Dumbledore in HBP. Even though you didn't confirm the answer, you got it. So, Pixi your up!! Good job! I guess that was a hard one! happy.gif

Pixymajik
Oh my gosh, I am such a shocker! Why do I always do this? My deepest apologies people! ohmy.gif

Here'sthe new quote to think about- hopefully not too easy for people wink.gif

QUOTE
Snape's right though, isn't he?

Good luck!
bluezz
My guess is Hermione, because no matter how much she hated Snape, she was always able to see when he was right. Although I can't really determine when she would say this. Probably the first three books, but I could be very wrong.
beyond_the_veil
I think it's in HBP. In a DADA's class Snape remarks that Ron is so solid that he can't Apparate half an inch across the room. Later Ron is talking to Harry and says "Snape's right though, isn't he" meaning that he believes he's so bad at Apparition that there's no point in taking the test. dry.gif I hope that made sense!
Pixymajik
Yep, you've got it beyond_the_veil smile.gif

I was hoping it was going to be a little trickier though, since it's so unlike something that Ron would say wink.gif
beyond_the_veil
Okay,i've just opened a random page in one of my Harry Potter books and this is what i've got.. smile.gif I hope it's not too easy. tongue.gif Here we go

QUOTE
Don't see what there is to fuss about

Good Luck!
sinister
Oh my... this is a tricky one. I gave this some thought and came to some sort of solution. I'm thinking Snape when the spells (if I remember correctly, Harry's and Draco's) hit eatch other in the air and one of them hit Hermione straight in the face and her teeth grew out of proportion and Snape mocked her saying something like that.

I'm not making any sence, am I. rolleyes.gif Well, Snape is my answer anyhow.
passerby
It is Snape, but I believe it is in Goblet of Fire when Snape and Karkaroff are talking after the Dark Mark got darker on their arms. . .Snape says something "I don't see what all the fuss is about, Igor." Then Karkaroff says something "You cannot deny it's getting stronger" or something along those lines.

Spencer Potter
Yah Passerby, he says "Theres no need to fuss about it." Then Karkaroff says "You know what It means aswell as I". Something like that. happy.gif
beyond_the_veil
Passerby, you have indeed got it right! It was Snape talking to Karkaroff in the grounds during the Yule Ball. They are indeed talking about the Dark Mark getting stronger.

It's your turn. Good Luck magic.gif
passerby
Oh, happy day! And I've got one all ready so as not to take too long in giving the next quote. Oh, allright. . .it took me a couple of days, but I've got one! Hope it's not too terribly easy.

QUOTE
It's lucky it's dark.

Happy guessing!
sinister
I'm thinking Hermione when the trio was on one of their nightstrawls and had trouble fitting under the invisibility cloke since the boys had grown so much. Can't really say in wich book but let's say it was PoA.
passerby
Nope, not Hermione, but good guess. The circumstances you picked are a good guess, too, but also incorrect. It's also not in Prisoner of Azkaban. That might narrow it down for you a bit. One book down, five more to guess from. Hehe.
bluezz
Well, I doubt this is right, but here it goes. I'm thinking it might be Hagrid on the night he showed Grawp to Harry and Hermione. When they were going back to Hogwarts, Hagrid thought it was good that it was dark already, since nodoby would notice the two friends sneaking out from the Forbidden Forrest and joining the crowd.
Pixymajik
Ooooh! I know this one smile.gif I've just started rereading- again- the series from the beginning smile.gif

Dumbledore says this in PS/SS to Professor McGonagall. She compliments him about being a great wizard and he responds with that quote and saying that he hadn't blushed so mcuh since Madam Pomfrey complimented him on his earmuffs.

Good one! smile.gif
passerby
Very good, Pixy! That is the exact person in the exact book at the exact moment of utterance of the line in questions! I knew you'd get it. . .So, it's your turn yet again. Give us a good one!

Love you siggy picture, by the way. . .is that new or am I just this slow??
Pixymajik
heh heh, you're not slow at all mate smile.gif I've only just added it. I was trying to condense it a little (I can't remember where I stole it from, but I've had it since July last year!) so that I could keep some of the others, but it wasn't adjusting properly wink.gif

here's the new quote--- hopefully a tricky one wink.gif

QUOTE
Couldn't believe it when I found out.

Good luck!
passerby
Ooh, good one, Pix! I'm thinking that it's Slughorn . . . he likes to babble. He was talking about Harry's mother, thinking she was such a great witch that he couldn't believe it when he found out she was muggle-born. Something like that. . . maybe it was when he was drunk?
oldman_fan
oooh, can I play? smile.gif I just ran across this thread...
You're right, passerby..it was Slughorn. And he was talking about Lily. It was in HBP, when DD took Harry to Slughorn's trying to recruit Slughorn for a teaching position at Hogwarts. DD had gone to the bathroom, and Slughorn was telling Harry about Lily's gift for potion-making..he couldn't believe she was Muggle-born.
I too, Pix, am in the middle of my umpteenth reading of the series.. smile.gif
Pixymajik
Awww Man! It wasn't meant to be that easy! wink.gif

You're right of course Janet and like Oldman_fan said, it was at the beginning. So Janet had the character right, but not the time--- so does that mean Oldman_fan gets it? huh.gif unsure.gif

Hmmm... whoever comes in first can have it, I guess wink.gif
oldman_fan
Well, I guess its me. since I got here first. Yay! biggrin.gif (claps hands in glee). Ok.. Here's one--I hope its not too easy....

"Well, you've got a funny way of showing it!"

This is fun! cool.gif
-Deb-
NickHilton
Ummm...i feel this is a girl to a guy... tongue.gif

Okay i'm going for Cho to Harry, Book 5 when they're in the Hogs Head and he says he has to meet Hermione...She complains, he says that he only likes her... then 'You've got a funny way of howing it...'

I'm wrong biggrin.gif
