Ah... such a simple quotation yet so complex at the same time. *speculates*. Anyway, I'm 100% positive got it right. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind, however, I would hate to be embarrassed because it was someone entirely different. I'm sure though because I was reading that chapter in OotP when I stumbled upon this thread... Hmm.. strangely coincidental...

Hmmm... That's a toughie! There are multiple "Oh dont's" That I could think of in Jo's series. Though judging by the italics on the don't I can gather that whoever said it was trying to emphasize the end. The only person who I can think of who said that would be noneother than Hermione. Hmmm.... I'm not sure, so I'm waiting for confirmation, Kelly.

Hehe, anyway, yeah, it does sound Hermione. Is it in the sixth book when she takes away the frizbee from a first year or something, and then Ron starts playing with it, and she becomes frustrated?

I agree that it sounds like Hermione, but I think it was her while Peeves was telling Moaning Myrtle about what they said about her. I don't have my SS book, so I can't confirm!

I think it's definitely Kreacher in OotP. It sounds like one of his mutterings when he's speaking his mind pretending that nobody can hear him.
He may be talking about Ron Weasly, a pureblood who is defending a Mudblood (Hermione) ...

I'm absolutely sure it's Kreacher, as all of you, and also almost positive it is said to one of the Weasley boys, probably Ron, like Albus said. I think it is when they're cleaning the drawing room and Kreacher enters to avoid them getting rid of the Black tapestry.

Is it Ron in GoF, when he and Harry are impersonating Crabbe and Goyle and trying to act like them, when they are talking to Draco in the Slytherin Common Room?

I'm going to go with Harry in POA. He says it to Lupin after he offers him Butterbeer. Lupin looks suprised and Harry lies and says that Ron and Hermione had brought him back some previously (because he had snuck out of Hogwarts)

Nope, Nope and Yep. Just when I thought I'd picked a tough one. . . I'm no match for you HP wizards. . .heh.

It is indeed Harry in PoA after Lupin offers him a reward of Butterbeer for doing so well with his patronus charm practice. . .

There are some that I seem to just KNOW and then others that have me stumped for aaaaages. It's odd

A relatively easy one I think---

oh, oh... I think I kbnow this one. That's Snape in HBP when they're at Slughorn's Christmas party and Slughorn(I think) asks Harry what subjects he is taking apart fr4om potions, and Harry tells him and then Snape says that quote, and Harry says something like "Yes, that's what I want to be".

I think it's in OotP, said by Dolores Umbridge while she sits in as Hogwarts Inquisitor during Harry's career counselling session with Professor McGonagall.

Or maybe it's McGonagall herself when she's having that "what-do-you-want-to-be-when-you-grow-up" conference with Harry and maybe she hands him the list of classes that he will need. . .in OotP.

Hmm.. I have to say, that I agree completely with Passer. McGonagall seems to have said that. I doubt that Umbridge would be giving advice to Harry. (I don't remember her doing so... . It would be a bit odd, huh?)

So, that's my final guess. Nobody else springs to mind...

I would have guessed Harry as well, but, he has enough attention all around – why brag…? (I always had the feeling that Ron would be the one bragging about doing something… so he could have some of the limelight.

Hmm.. my final guess is Ron. I’m trying to find the full quote for confirmation. Gof is the first book I’m guessing on because that’s where Ron is somewhat distant with Harry…

And don’t worry! Making the quotes hard is part of the fun!

Wow...I actually know this. It's Ron, like Phoenix2Fire said, but it's him boasting to Padma Patil (and his followers) about the second task when he was taken captive of the Merpeople, and Harry had to rescue him. No one knew that Ron wasn't really in danger, so he just made that up for publicity. Ach..Ron...

Yes! Hermione_Resilda has that one! Very good! Sometimes people freak me out by what they know.

Yay, thanks! That one's always stuck in my mind because I love Ron, but it amazed me when I read GoF after reading OotP, at how much he was like Harry's father...heh.

Sounds like a Fred or George line. Probably when they were conspiring for something or another at some time or another. Can't think of anything specific except for the bets they were taking in GoF. . .but I somehow don't think that's right. Ah well.
