I have to say my favorite word would be marauder....it sounds so adventurous and daring, like you could do anything and not get caught. I also like the word auror. It goes with its description and sounds awesome.

My favourite word hmmm. I think prehaps Oddment. When Dumbledore in the Philosphers stone.
" Nitwit, blubber, Oddment and Tweak."
I think Oddment is so well err. Odd.
And it's like a random word like bannanas. It's just so strange but likeable. Oddment - I wont get that out of my head for a few days now.
But the one i seemed to say outload quite a bit is Avada Kedavra.

I like how they call kissing - snogging! That always cracks me up, it's such a funny word! But my favorite wizard related word is probably Crucio! It's fun to say. My cousin and I always have fake duels with Unforgiveable Curses.

probably i'll choose sectumsempra, not because of the word itself but because what the information it provided. here, i got to know how deep the knowledge of snape was about the dark arts and yet he knew how to reverse the curse. in this case he knew how to heal the wound and it was with some melodious sound, a side of him that was rarely known to us. also draco before harry cast that spell was also in a very emotional state of which was also rare side of him.

I would have to say that my favorite word is nargle, with a close second being the "Crumple-Horned Snorkack," or the "Blibbering Humdinger." Actually, my favorite words generally tend to be various "animal species" announced by Luna.

My favourite words would probably be anything that Luna comes out with, because you can guarantee they're going to be hilarious! I also quite like Dumbledore, because it just has a nice ring to it. Expeliarmius (Sorry about my spelling!) isn't bad either.

Oh, I love to say HP words with my kids. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old, and we always say wizarding words. My two year old loves Expecto Patronum, he says that all the time. I like Levio Corpus, Accio, Alohomora, Stupify, Expecto Patronum, and Protego. We use a lot more words that the kids like to use, but those are my favorites.

Ha! Very true. I prefer talking Harry Potter to many things.

Well, leviosa is clearly a varation on levitate. I can only assume the wing part might be because flying birds use their wings. I agree that it is a decent spell.
As for me, the name for the potion amortentia has an allure for me. Just listen to it. Ah-more-ten-she-ah. It is just rolling and beautiful.

I don't have one word that is my real favourite, but there are a few I like a lot. First is Diagon Alley and Hogwarts. These words are not weird or something, but they are very easy to remember and sound nice. Spells are also very good in the books. Avada Kedavra and Cruciatus are very powerful words, I think their great. These are the bad spells. The good/less bad spells I think are brilliant are: Wingardium Leviosa, Expelliarmus, Expecto Patronum and Petrificus Totalus. And Muggle is also great. I can keep going on for a long time, but I think I've said enough now

I love it when the magical words play on words... for example, Knockturn Ally -- nocturnally
Diagon Alley -- diagonally. My favourite magical words have to be Felix Felicitas, Muggle and spattergroit. They just roll off the tongue!

Then Spattergroit as it is quite a funny word...I have to agree with tonks-13 about butterbeer, its really a cool combination!!
After those two it would have to be accio as it is quick and to the point and I just wish life could be easier when we could summon things!!

The name Filius is simply great. It is really fun to say and to think. Rubeus makes me think of a large roast beef sandwhich. It always has. I don't know why. Maybe that is why I like Hagrid so much.
Curiously, I am not overly fond of the name Bilius (Ron's middle name). You would think that I would considering I like the name Filius and they are so close.

My favourite wizarding words would have to be; Quidditch because it just sounds like an interesting word, Hogwarts because if you didn't know about the HP world it would sound pretty gross, Hufflepuff because it's just a funny word and I have to agree that Spattergroit is pretty funny. One of my favourite character names is Augustus Pye. I don't know why, it just sounds funny.

I have a couple more words to add to my list I posted a couple days ago. I don't know why I'm so interested in this topic, I think the holiday break is getting to me.

Anyway...
-Quaffle
-Voldy (a name, but still.

)
-Petrificus Totalus
-Aguamenti
There's more but I'm sure you don't want to read my favourite words for an hour. I agree with
Jenzy Black; Mimbulus Mimbletonia is a funny one!

I love the names she gives witches and wizards! Adalbert Waffling, Newt Scamander, Bathilda Bagshot, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Augustus Pye, Dudders ... she has such an imagination!
I love the word quaffle - it makes me think of a fat squashy armchair, but since it has no relevance whatsoever, I don't know why! And I like horcrux - it really suits what it is, cos I think it sounds really dark and mysterious! And all the Luna things - nargles, wrackspurts, crumple-horned snorcack, blibbering humdinger! I also like dementor - very similar to the actual real word, but I still think it's good!

Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! i guess its not magic but it was hilarious when i read it the first time. it just came out of nowhere and was just really unexpected.

Ooohhh, there's just so many. It's hard to pick. I think my favorites would have to be Dobby, Dumbledore, Thestrals, and veritaserum! The last one may be a wee bit prejudiced on my part, but it's really fun to say! VER-IT-TAS-EE-ER-UM. Heeheehee.

My favorite word has to be Baslisk. It sounds soooo different. And whenever I hear the word Batholith in Science now I can only think of Harry Potter. It's so fun to say!
This isn't from the books but from the GoF movie, "Babbling band of bumbling baboons" that is sooooooo fun to say! I get everyone at school all mixed up trying to say it.

My favorite is "Wingardium Leviosa"
[because] when my youngest son was 18-months old, we were watching Sorcerer's Stone A LOT and he started going around with anything that would "point" (pencil, ruler, wand, golf club) saying "Gardum OH-sa!" as loud as he could while pointing whatever was in his hand at you. It was quite cute. (I think he picked up on Hermione explaining it was Levi-OH-sa not levio-SAH)
I especially liked JKR's choice of names, namely the ones for the Dark wizards. I love how all the Black's have names of stars, I like all the Malfoy's names (Lucius, Narcissa, Draco and Scorpius) and I really like Bellatrix and Dolohov.
Mod Edit: Hi! We don't allow netspeak such as 'b/c' for 'because'. Please type out words in full. Thanks!

Purple Pygmy Puff. Don't ask me why, I just liked the sound of it. When it was first introduced in OotP, I could only think of those words, and how funny they sounded.

I like all the words that have anything to do with Weasleys' Wizard Weezes - even the name of the shop itself. I also liked the Marauders' names.

My two favourite words are just a little bit opposed- Pigmy Puff and Sectumsempra.

My favorite wizarding word would have to be...Ridikkulous (spelling?), ever since Professor Lupin introduced it in GoF, I use it. I'm in the military, so you can imagine the times I get to use this great word, mainly because most of the people making the decisions are ridiculous.
When I say ridiculous, they look at me, I just look back and say, "what, you are ridiculous."
