OOOh, I have so many...there's Quidditch, because it's the best sport ever, and it's really fun to say. There's Muggle, I remember reading that for the first time and thinking "What?" Then there's Dumbledore; who doesn't love saying that? Then my favorite spell words are Agimente (sp?) and Accio, just because they're so different. That's about it for now, my memory just faded.

I know I am going to sound really silly because I dont even know how to spell my favorite Harry Potter word! But Oh well! My favorite word has got to be Tarantelegra! Oh it is just so pathetic that I don't know how to spell it!

I really like this word because it just roles off the tongue and it is like tarantula, with all the legs moving uncontrollably.

My second would have to be Morsmordre! I don't really know why, but it is just pretty cool!

I think my favorite word has to be veritaserum. It just rolls off the tounge, plus, its the name of my favorite HP site!

I would have to say that my favourite word would be Wingardium Leviosa-yip,i am traditional

I think that it has a kind of history about it and it also has that catchy way about it...
I think my second choice would be Sectumsempra cos it has a mysterious feel about it and it seems very powerful just when you say it

Then for my third choice I would have to say that Wizingamot is pretty cool cos it has a funnyness about it and I honestly don't think thats a word-funnyness...

Then for my final choice I would chose Snidget or snitch...They are cute words....

I think that the Alohamora spell is my favorite word. It just rolls off the tounge. A close seconed would have to be Quidditch. I love saying it with a British accent!!

But for some reason the spell Sectumsempra sounds pretty cool to me. I know it's a very dangerous spell and can kill someone with it hits them and they don't get attention right away, but I give extreme cradit to JK for making it up. I don't know how she can think up all these spells. It's so cool. and i found a Wikipedia site that says what all the spells mean and do. its so cool. I any of you would like the site just PM me.

Anyways, back to my favorite word, I love this spell. Sectum means cut and sempra means always. That is soo cool.

i would have to say butter beer i always dink stuff that i imagin it looking like and i am like hmmm butterbeer but i imagine it tastes like worthers originals so when i eat them i am like mmm butter beer, of course my friends think i am out of my mind, but her you think i am normal right?

Hehe. . .I like this thread. I have quite a few favorite words, which I like for the way they sound. I really like Sectumsempra, pygmypuff, Muggle, bubotuber, Crookshanks, and Lupin. I think Dumbledore is a really cool name and word. I love most of JKR's wizarding words. They are all very well thought out and if you look closely they have meanings and you can follow their origins. One I can think of is "Lupin." It derives from the word "canis lupus" which is the scientific word for "wolf." Of course, Lupin is a werewolf and that's where his name comes from.

i like "Alohomora"...it sounds catchy, well to me it does.

and "Amortentia"...like i said above, sounds catchy to me, and i think it has a nice ring to it.

"Sectumsepra" has a nice ring to it also.

and "Muggle"...haha i think it sounds nice and sort of funny.

Oh goodness, the magical world is full of excellent words. I suppose mine is Godric. I love Godric Gryffindor, Godric's Hollow (which I always envisioned as an ancient wizarding village...former home to Gryffindor....maintained in its ancient glory by spells and old wizards that live there).

My favorite spell? I am inclined to say protego. I like the defensive aspect of magic more than the offensive. My favorite name for a spell is expecto patronum.

I'm going to say first and foremost Butter Beer because honestly it sounds really tasty for some bizarre reason...Real beer...not so much...trust me...But butter beer??? Yum! Otherwise I really like the word Muggle..It just sounds so doofy, and face it..a lot of people are. My favorite spell is probably the patronus spell only because when PoA came out my son was four and he would go around the house yelling Espeso patonuuum, and poiting a stick at everybody..It was hilarious!

I think that wingardium leviosa rolls of the tongue nicely. I also like the spell that turns Scabbers into a goblet. "One, two, three. Veraverto." (sp? in books?)

My favorite word(s) in the books have got to be Mimbulus mimbletonia. I just like the way they go together. I also like Snorkack, if I spelled that right.

I have three. Hogsmede,Hogwarts and Snitch. These are soo cool sounding. And Hogwarts sounds like a fantastic place to visit. Snitch sounds like a bad word but it's not.

Agreeing with lots of people in here: Veritaserum sounds very cool. But I also do like Sectumsempra (it sounds so cool and evil). But thinking about it for a longer time, I come to the conclusion that Flagrate, the spell that Hermione used to mark the doors in the Ministry of Magic sounds best.

But I really like butterbeer, I love the way is sounds for some reason, veritaserum, a really cool word, and I love the way Snape says it when he's threatning Harry. Snuffles, just a really fun word to say!! Hippogriff, it's just an exotic type word, and an awesome creature. And lastly animagus, I just love that word, it is fun to say for me. Animagus!! mine would be avada kedavra with a lot of voldemort accent....or peter pettigrew.i don't know why but the name is perfect!!!i mean with a lot of english accent and a bit of sirius like voice,it's perfect!!!
