I like the S.P.E.W. one because it really pretty much sums the whole thing up. It also sounds really cute, and its not way too over the top. it's just right!

I voted for S.P.E.W. I like it a lot! It's short and easy to remember... I kinda like P.O.T.T.E.R.S. too... but the thing it stands for is kinda hard to remember... Well any other people for S.P.E.W. ?

I voted for Potter's Patients --- it seems like the most fun. Dumbledore's Army was my suggestion, but I don't endorse it anymore. Because I agreed that it doesn't properly include those who are Voldemort / Death Eater fans.

i think the best tihng that'll suit them would be .O.T.T.E.R.S......it's an awesome one and i really like it.....

O, i had to say potheads, probably just because at my school, me and my best friend are the only harry potter fans, and everyone thinks were weird! therefore, we are called the potheads constantly. nothing new though, eh?

All these are great, it took me some time to make my final decision. I chose P.O.T.T.E.R.S because it just sounds so better and I think it is more classy. I just like it better. But I love all the others too.

I voted for S.P.E.W.: "Society of Potter Enthusiasts Worldwide" because it welcomes those from all walks of life into our mild and not-so mild obsession. Also, it reflects that Harry Potter do dwell around the world and vary in every way imaginable. Yup, S.P.E.W.ers unite!

I voted for S.P.E.W. because it's quite punny, and it's short and easy to remember, and there is the fact that I just simply love it!

I picked W.A.N.D.s. I think it sounds really cute. On hindsight I really liked the D.A.- Dumbledore's Army, because it has real sentimental meaning to me, because it was a big part of the series and it makes sense!

well... i had to vote for harry potter freaks because where i live people don't generally like harry potter that much.and the people who do are really into it and that is why i voted for that and it is sad how manny people hate harry potter cause it's great imagionation...sadly it's only imagination

I voted for SPEW, not only is it easy to remember, but the Society of Potter Enthusiasts Worldwide sounds much more sane! Dumbledore's Army sounded like a good name to me too, cause Dumbledore Rocks!

I was torn between Potterhead and D.A.

I ended up choosing Potterhead, just because I have always thought it was funny. And I have actually been called that before by an old teacher.

well, i voted for potterheads, because that's how a woman said we are, in other fourm, and i liked it... but pottermaniacs is good, too. someone called me a pottermaniac...

I've always thought "Potterheads" sounded cute. That's what I voted for. I also like S.P.E.W. alot. It sounds nice, and it fits perfectly!!

W.A.N.D.S. is cute. Looks like if the fans haven't already thought up a name to call themselves by now, it might be a hard thing to come up with. Something everyone agrees on anyway.

Yes, PiratePrincess, I think "Pottermaniacs" is a good word to describe us crazy Harry Potter fans. Because we are just that: maniacs -- overly-obsessed -- of Harry Potter.

Our only problem with the name "Pottermaniacs" is that we thought it was a bit bland and boring...or even just too common. So a few months ago, a bunch of us gathered around to think of a more creative name. We came up with the idea to use anagrams and quickly thought of M.I.S.O.P., I.S.E.O.P.F., E.L.F., S.O.C.A.M., but we agreed that they were not "magical" enough. So, Darcy had the idea to use S.P.E.W.: a well-known acronym among Harry Potter fans because of Hermione's house-elf rights crusade. Many liked it, as you can see by the poll results, but others thought it would not be recognizable by non-HP fans. So, I came up with the M.U.G.G.L.E.S., P.O.T.T.E.R.S., and W.A.N.D.S. acronyms, which also seem to be pretty popular.

Anyway, the moral of my overly-boring history of this thread is that you should vote for a creative, catchy, and recognizable to everybody: HP fans and non-HP fans alike. Of course, I am not here to sawy your decision -- vote for whichever you think is the best -- I merely wanted to inform everybody about why we have the choices we have.

Potter Patients sounds good to me for my family are thinking of sending me to a metally obessed home (no kidding!)

It sums us up although Pottermaniacs sounds good aswell

i voted for harry potter freaks i use a similar one to that. When someone ask do you like Harry Potter I usually respond like What Harry potter? in that nasty snape british tone he has then laugh and say im a potterfreak easier to say.

I'm going to go with W.A.N.D.S, because it is a key item in the Harry Potter books, I mean they wouldn't be able to do most of their magic without wands, would they? I also like the cleverness for which it stands for. I thought S.P.E.W. would have been a really good name, but I just can't shake it's true meaning out of my head, it orginally stands for the freedom of house elves, and I just don't think it should change it's meaning. I love W.A.N.D.S though!

I like Muggles, but only when it doesn't stand for anything. I voted for the DA though.

I voted S.P.E.W. because I have a club with a couple of my friends that is called S.P.E.W.. Basically we get together and watch/discuss the movies/books/other.

S.P.E.W. is great! It gets my vote! How long is this poll going to be open for voting before we finally decide which one to call ourselves?!? I am not about to go around calling myself a "pothead", "potty", or any of the derrogatory (sp?) names others make up for us! We need something good!

I chose W.A.N.D.S, because we are nutcases, and proud of it. It shows something that has to do with wizards, and everyone else would have no clue as to what we're talking about. The DA was good, too, but W.A.N.D.S got my vote.

I say we should be called Potterites. There should be levels of Potterite for levels of obsession. We can have gurus too, because some get so into it that it's like a religion.

Maybe it is actually time for putting up a thread for the most popular name for Potter Fans. Which in this case is S.P.E.W

Maybe in the thread we could discuss what Harry Potter means to us personally and things like that. Just a suggestion. I know this thread has been going for a while and I just stumbled across it again and I was like OMG, WE STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED!! So it is just a suggestion.

well the best one was P.O.T.T.E.R.S.: "Potter-Obsessed To Towering Extents Regal Society" and it really explains what Harry potter Fan Are All about and it is wordeed really well if you ask me it describes all of us.
