Well, i know there are threds out there that tlk about which maurader you are like, however, I wanted to know, that if you were a maurader, what were your name be? Obviously it would have to be related to your animagus, and represent your personality. So I wasn't sure if I should do a questionare, or let you post your animagus form and adopted maurader name. So I guess that I will start by letting you state your own, and if you all wish me to start a questionare and give you a name, I can do that as well. But for now, I cam just going with the posters do it themselves.

My Animagus (according to the other forum): FOX
Maurader Name: Wily - means cunning, sly, clever

OK, this is an edit, so bare with me. It has been suggested that a quiz be attached to this thread so I hav created one, however, don't feel obligated to take it if you already have a good name and just want to share it.

PLEASE I URGE YOU TO AT LEAST TRY TO GET ONE< AND NOT TO JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS WITHOUT AN ATTEMPT. MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOU TRIED AND COULDN'T FIND AN ANSWER, otherwise the Mods will close this topic.

1) What is you animagus? Why? Give color/size - details please!!
2) Who is your favorite/least favorite Maurader and why?
3) Give any defining physical characterstics of your human form
4) Describe your personality, the good and the bad
5) What would you do for fun, both in animagus form and human?
6) What group of students would you hang out with?
7) What house are you in?
8) What is your favorite/least favorite subject
9) What is your patronus? Why?
10) What name would you chose and why? You may get this name, you may not, I guess it depends on how it relates to the above answers.

Remember you can always piece together your own name from the suggestions I have given.
Witch@Heart
Oh! I like the idea of this thread.

My animagus is a Tiger.

I think perhaps I'd choose the name Swiftstep.
I_See_Thestrals
My Animagus is a cat. either a mau or a small exotic like an Ocelot. Ive already thought of a marauder name shown below. Nighteyes
Hermione's freak
Nice topic...well my animagus is a hippogriff so i guess i'd like it to be something like.......drigin......drigin sounds most like dragon that's why i think it'll suit best....a dragon can land and it can fly just like a hippogriff but hippogriffs i guess, are much smaller.
razzberry2
Hm, my animagus is a black panther from memory so I guess I could come up with a marauder name for that...

Maybe Wiskers? lol. to docile, I think. tongue.gif Darkclaws? to ostentatious maybe. Spookie? haha, they're getting worse! Maybe Scratch then?

Geez, this is harder than I thought! tongue.gif

Hey, since you guys are into the marauders, have you signed up for SPIMF yet??
Padfoot313
OOH swiftstep and nighteyes are wonderful choices. Drigin has a devios ring to it, but I love it just the same - everyone needs a little bit of a bad side.

Razzberry, I think I can offer a suggestion. Since you are a black panther, it made me think about the jungle book. And the wise black panther from the book was named Bagheera. Or if you watch Thundercats, Panthro/Redeye is the name of the black panther character. Although Panthro was the one I remembered, apparently he was also known as redeye. Just a suggestion.
mjane95
I was an owl so something like Hoots or .Twiters.
This is sorta hard but it would be cute to have name like this
I think I'll go withs Hoots.=) tongue.gif
Pixymajik
I do like this thread laugh.gif Nice names so far peoples,

Except I'm not sure about Panthro for Razz, it sounds too much like the radio-active superheroes wink.gif

I'm still thinking about my name. If I could turn into an Animagus, it would definitely be an Eagle. I wouldn't mind the name 'Wings', but at the same time, the Marauders names all give a hint to their animal, without actually TELLING what it is. I supposes 'Wings' sorta does that- as much as what 'prongs' does.
Neisha
Since I didn't take the animagus test before it became locked...I'm going to say that my animagus is a Pharoah Eagle Owl:

user posted image

Considering it has the title of Pharoah, I would say that my Maurader name would be Isis

Well, now that i have taken the animagus test I'll be changing my name. I'll let you know what it is after the results.

Test took and I'm still an owl so....it stays the same.
luckyfish
Awesome topic Padfoot313.My animagus is a dog like Sirius,
so I would either have the name Fluffy or Lassie!
I think maybe Fluffy or I will take a leaf out of Sirius's book and take the name Snuffles! biggrin.gif
Harry+Hermy4ever
Okay, my animagus is an otter, and my Marauder is James, and I have no idea what my name should be. Can someone please help me? (Please, I'd prefer not so cute and cuddly names if at all possible.)
Hermione_Resilda
Nice thread. Well...on the first animagus thread, I was choosen to be a hawk, but on the second one, I was a beaver. So let's see...a combination between those two should be really hard to find rolleyes.gif . Hehe, how about something like 'Screechingwater'? Or maybe 'Flyingwater', or 'Watchingocean'...which one do you like best?

Harry+Hermy4ever, maybe yours could be something like 'Hardswood', since otters cut down trees and hard workers...just a thought.
Padfoot313
QUOTE

Beavers are the ones that cut down trees, not otters. Otters are like seals, live in the ocean, sea and like colder climates, although there are a few thousand that live off the coast of California. Sea Otters are the largest animal from the weasel family, are known to use tools to open food and can dive to approx. 180 feet underwater - very clever and mischeiveious at times, they like to have fun.

Options:
- Swishy (for their swiming skills)
- Seaprint
- Pip and Pop are the otters from that show Bear in the Big Blue House
- Clamdiver (They eat clams and can dive real well)
- Slicktrick
- Deepfoot
- Seabreeze
- Ottspot

I hope these will help, or atleast help you figure out what you don't want to be. Gotta go right now, be back to edit this in a bit.
Lady Oymre
Um...this is a lot harder than it first looks! My animagus (from the other thread) was a white wolf, all I can this of is Moonbeam but it's a little too peaceful and calm a name for a wolf.
Looooony Luna
From memory my patronus was an elephant with wings (kinda weird I know lol but I love elephants) but Ive been thinking for ages and I can't come up with a name that sounds good. I keep thinking of Nelly the elephant and Dumbo! Hmm.. them mixed together is Dumbly (which is what madam maxime calls Dumbledore lol) but thats no good. Any ideas anybody? Please wink.gif
Krieltje
Ooh nice thread biggrin.gif My animagus is a Jaguar... but I don't know much about those animals. I'm a Ravenclaw and my marauder is Lupin, so I want something peacefull (with a bit of cleverness) in it.
Let's see A jaguar is a quick hunter so maybe something with the word Speed or Hunter... SpeedyHuntress? ... Argh... I really don't know. Ideas are appreciated over here tongue.gif!

Loony Luna: I like Dumbly biggrin.gif It's a bit like Dumbo, but it has something more sweet in it smile.gif.
felix_felicis_444
OOOh, very cool thread, Padfoot! Hmm...now lets think...

My animagus is a Chameleon...known for the ability to blend in and change their color to adapt to the environment. I suppose my name can be.....hmmm -- errr -- uhhh....(a little help here? heh huh.gif )

Crawlter? A combination of "Crawl"...(that's what chameleons do, no?)...and "Alter"...because chameleons alter their color and positions...

Whoa, that was terrible! Well, I never said I was good at making up these types of names (I'm better with acronyms wink.gif lol)

_daviD
miss know-it-all
Well, my animagus is a dog, just like Sirius's! Hmmm.....lemme think,
well, i like Sirius after the egyptian dog star.........woofy?lol thats weird. loyal.?.....since a dog is loyal. hmmm........this is hard! ineed help!!

-kassandra
Julianne envy U
My animagus would be a black cat

I'm not sure, but I suppose my marauder name could be Swiftstalker....I really haven't thought of it.... wink.gif
Padfoot313
Looooony Luna: I like Heffalump - from winnie the pooh. hehe - or Tusky, Ivory (it's what tusks are made out of), Stompster, Greyhorn (elephants are grey and their trunks sound like horns), Greyfoot, Roundfoot, Greytusk, Wrinkle (Elephants skin is wrinkly), Stampy (Known for stampedes), Hefty, Bigearm, Wingtusk, Greywing, Winghorn

miss know-it-all: Steadfast -(means loyal), Basenji (the actual name of the egyptian dogs), Prowler, Blackhunt, Terrior, Blackprint, Coldnose, Darkfoot, You could always be Cerbeus, teh three-headed dog form Greek mythology laugh.gif . To go the carebear route, there is always Loyalheart, the name of the dog in that animation.

Krieltje: HHHMM Jaguars are golden with clustered black spots called rosettes I believe, I also beleive they are night animals and are carnivors. So, let me think - Nocturnal, Carnivore and Spots, and they like trees, and they love water sports. You might say the jaguar is the "strong and silent" type. He's got the second strongest jaw of any land mammal, able to crush even the hardest of turtle shells. And he's not exactly silent, but he doesn't roar like a lion. Snarling and growling are more their style. He likes to fish as well. (Panthera onca -scientific name)
-How about, Nightspot, Meatfreak, Mooncat, Waterstrider (this is actually the name of a bug, but it sounds cool), Rosette, Shydevil, Catjaw, Carnicrush, Jagjaw, Treespeed, Pouncer, Quickpaw or Mooncat. Once again, Carebear analogy - Proudheart, mainly because cats are proud animals. Proudfoot could be good too.

felix_felicis_444: HMM Chamelion, your right they do change color, only when their mood is altered or if they need to blend into their environment to hide, they also have an extendable sticky tongue to catch prey, belong to the lizard family and are coldblooded and lay eggs.
-How about, moodmorph - or morphmood, I really like Crawlter, Sticktong, Longtongue, Coldprey, morphblend, Chammy, Lizzy (From RAMPAGE- if your old enough to remember that video game), Camo (for Camoflouge). Stickprey, Coldtongue, Preyliz. I think Crawlter is my favorite other than Longtongue

Lady Oymre: We know they travel in packs, are mainly night creatures, most like the snow, they smell and hear at an extremely high rate.
-How about Grizzer (actual name of one in safe habitat), Moonbeam is really good, moonhowl, snowfur, snowhowl, snowpack, howlpack, coldnose, Moonsnow, Quickstep, (the name of the wolf from Narnia might work), Nightwolf, Darkwolf, Wolfy (very original), Moonbite, Night-Howler

Hermione_Resilda: A hawk likes to glide more than fly, and I beaver obviously likes to eat trees and lives in a dam. They are very different creatures, but I may be able to congeal them.
HMMM - how about Woodwings, Feathertail, Gnawbeak, Soarswim, Screechcall, Flapjack, Flappat. Out of your choices Flyingwater is the best.

luckyfish: I think Snuffles would work, afterall, only the trio called him that. But you are the second one with that same animagus, so I give Snuffles only because you thought of it first. Definitely not Lassie, and Fluffy will always be the three-headed dog.

Neisha: I like the specificity of PHAROAH Eagle owl. Isis is good, you could also go with, Osiris. But I like Isis the most.

Mjane95: Hoots for and Owl would be too much of a give away, but I think it is cute. I can suggest quickclaw, preyclaw, Nightprey, wingsoar, snowy-wings, Wide-eyes, BUT Hoots is definitely my favorite.

Pixymajik: Wings is good. I could suggest adding to it, like Barewings, or Featherwings or Silverwings.

Razzberry: I know that my suggestions were minimal, but since you like panthers, I offer another. In ancient egypt, the GOd Inubis, Anubis however you like was always portrayed as a black cat that resembles a current panther. So disregard the other, I think Inubis would be the best for you, plus he was a god.
Hoped I helped.

Julianne envy U: That is an great one, but you seem to have doubts. You obviously want to be fast, and cats are good stalkers, as well as pouncers. IfI were to improve on your already fantastic choice, I would go with Pouncer, Quickstep, Blacktail, Swiftpaw, blackpaw, Opal eyes, Lucifer (Cinderella) or Nightstalker. Of course, your Swiftstalker is just fine.
james pickles
Well my animagus is a Lion. I thought of something like Braveheart. I chose this because the lion is supposed to be the most brave and mighty creatures in the animal kingdom hense the brave part of the name. A also has a loyal and pure heart and is gentle to all but also fierce to all who appose him or who he loves. So I think Braveheart would be the best name. Please feel free to give suggestions.
Padfoot313
james pickles: Braveheart is nice, I like it. Although it reminds me too much of Mel Gibson, but that is not a bad thing either. Also, Braveheart was the name of the lion from carebears, I don't think there is another name for a lion that could be better. nice job!!!
Lady Oymre
Thanks for the suggestions, though I'm not sure about Quickstep, I don't like dancing much laugh.gif . I like the name of the wolf from Narnia, Maugrim is a much more suitable name for a wolf.
Hermione_Resilda
Hm, sorry I got them confused...I never really keep up with animals *shrugs*

Anyway, I do like Soarswim and Screechcall, and thought Flapjack was funny. I love Flyingwater too though...maybe I'll stick to that. Thanks for your opinion.
Padfoot313
Lady Oymre: Maugrim is a good wolf name, Glad I could lend some assistance.

Hermione_Resilda Flyingwater was a favorite of mine as well.

If anyone is unhappy with the suggestions, let me know, I can try to come up with others - I just tried to go with the obvious choices, I can make them more aloof.

Harry+Hermy4ever - I have a few more suggestions for the otter one. Ponddiver, Pawfin, Aqueous (means liquid), Whiskers, Swimpod, Wetpaw, Posiedon or Neptune (God-like), Landseal, wetweasel.
Harry+Hermy4ever
Thanks Padfoot313! I escpecially like "Slicktrick" and "Seabreeze", yet they're two completely differnet sounding names! I don't know, maybe I can combine them, "Tricksea" would be funny, because "Trixie" is a real name! LOL! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks a bunch!
gryffindor89
well my animagus is a cheetah but i cant really think of anything really good for it right now...if anyone can think of anything thanks a ton though!! biggrin.gif

OOOooh! Great names, Padfoot! Why couldn't I think of those!? wink.gif

I think Lizzy is a great one...definietely a chameleon/lizard-type animal name...but I can't help but think of my 4-year-old cousin named Elizabeth that we call Lizzy mellow.gif ...hehe

I like morphblend...and moodmorph...and longtounge....wow you have some really good ideas! haha...I think I like them all tongue.gif

Well thanks for the suggestions...See you around!

I_See_Thestrals
Gryffindor89...Cheatahs, as one knows, are the fastest land animals, so think of names that relate to its quickness and its spotted coat...some examples i can think of are Quickspot, Blink and Streak.
Lady Oymre..Wolves are so diverse, a name can be easy to come by...look at their howl, the moon, the pack, the fact that their are grey, black, snow, and timber wolves..there are also some mythological wolves like Fenris, Ulric, Ragnar, Hada, Cisalpine Wolf, etc. Maugrim is a good name, but it does not have a connection to your animal and your personality.

Um, this is a great post, and just to let you know, i tried to start something along these lines, but i didnt have the knowledge about clubs and posts as i do now, so it was locked. Im currently writing a fanfic about animagi, and i was looking for these sorts of ideas, but i shan't be stealing any, so dont worry.

I like the Wolf names, I didn't even think of Timber, I like that. although some may think a tree is coming down when it is said, I think that it was a lovely suggestion.

gryffindor89: I like I_See_Thestrals suggestions for Quickspot, mainly because of their speed and the fact that they have spots. They are also very agile creatures, who can jump far and climb trees well. some other suggestions, Treespot, Pouncer, Leadfoot, Cheetara (From Thundercats HEHE)

Someone out their needs SNARF, I love that name.
Looooony Luna
haha Padfoot313 thanks for your suggestions! Not too sure about hefty lol unsure.gif I like hefalump alot though that made me laugh. I also liked 'Greywing' but I think hefalump will do it for me hehe tongue.gif

Thanks a lot for that your really imaginative, I don't know how you think of it all! biggrin.gif
Krieltje
Hey Padfoot313, thank you for your suggestions biggrin.gif I like your suggestions way better than my own (I have a lack of creativity wink.gif). From the names you suggested I like QuickPaw the best, and that name definitely fits with my personality!. I'll go for that one smile.gif
Padfoot313
Looooony Luna: Yeah I love Heffalump, I just recently watched that movie, it was so cute, I think i liked it more than my neice did.

Krieltje: I am glad to have helped. Sometimes my imagination just runs wild. HEHE!!!

Harry+Hermy4ever: Hey, Trixie sounds fun, it is the name of a harbor near me, it sells boats and stuff. I have to admit, the otter threw me off a bit. I know they ar smart creatures, so maybe you can include that in the name, like Seasmart, Witty, Sharpsea. They are a part of the weasel family so you could call yourself Woozle to go with Looooony Luna's Heffalump. Sorry I could not be of more help, If I think of anything later, I will let you know.

You're right, it doesn't reflect my personality. I like Timber as it describes my animagus and it reminds me of my childish personality: timber in Welsh is coed and yesterday I was reading a welsh picture book called "Smot yn mynd i'r coed" (or something like that, I'm not too good with Welsh prepositions and determiners) which means "Spot "(the dog, it's a cartoon) "goes to the woods", so I started giggling when I saw timber. I love picture books. biggrin.gif
Padfoot313
I enjoyed Timber as well, sometimes my mind keeps a narrow beam, this was a good one, and I am glad it suits your persoanlity and makes you happy.
Nero
Mines a white siberian tiger so um gee this ones a little bit hard to think of, prowler its what tigers do when hunting for food might sound kinda silly but I think it fits biggrin.gif
Padfoot313
Nero - Prowler is good, I like it. It is definitely a characteristic of any feline really. Although Siberian tigers aren't really night animals, and prowling is something most felines do at night, I think this is fine. Good Job, no suggestions.
I_See_Thestrals
Can anyone think of a name for a brighly coloured day gecko! They are the ones found in Madagascar! Im trying for something like 'Moony" or "Prongs" where its just one word!

Im an Ancient History major...i apologise!
Padfoot08
Love Ancient History!!! Going to college to be an archaeologist, or Egyptiantologist. I will agree with Thestrals. Mine would most probably be an historical or Egyptian name. I think that I would choose ... Isis. God of motherhood and womanhood. Sister-wife to Osiris( god of the afterlife) and mother of Horus( the sky god).
Alright don't mind me either. I get excited over talk of history. rolleyes.gif

My animagus is a wild Brumby, so I first thought, 'freehooves' or 'freefeet,' but then I thought, why not tie in some Laton?

So, I combined the Latin word *'vaco' and the word 'hooves,' creating Vacooves. (VAck-OOves)

There were many Latin words meaning 'free' in some way, shape or form, but I finally decided on vaco because of the history of the Brumby. They are Australian horses, and long ago they were set free by James Brumby, either because they could not be broken or just to be freed. So, they were free of work and master, and of his or her property.

*vaco: to be free from work, of a master, of property
Pixymajik
Kaylyn- I just wanted to tell you how much I LOOVE your marauder name!!! smile.gif

Vacooves sounds great and I love the thought that went into it and all of the meaning that is behind it smile.gif

As for the brightly coloured gecko---- Hmmmm... that one might require a little more thought- am stuck for anything at the moment!
*dementor*
hippogriff.....thats my animagus name but i have no idea what my marauder name would be... dry.gif
anyone have an idea?
i was just thinking of *hippopotomus* (i forgot how to spell it) NO WAY will i be that...aghh
i really hav eno idea...please help sad.gif
Lithium
Hmm, well my animagus was a black cat so I think my marauder name would be something simple like Claws or something. Simple but catchy. wink.gif
I_See_Thestrals
Lithium - you could also think of the bad luck associated with black cats! how bout a names like Omen...i like it..ITS MINE! no, you can have it...maybe

*dementor* - Hippogriphs are two animals, and thusly (as with buckbeack) you can choose a name that reflects both...feathermane, Equisflight (scientific name of horse is Equis/equus), Proudtalon etc.

Well, I guess I was wrong, I guess I watch too much TV - he's a cat in a cartoon series and looks like one in the Mummy Returns, but I like the name nonetheless.

I_See_Thestrals : You must like this thread, I like your ideas, sorry about my history mix up, I guess my mythology is a little rusty. Don't feel like you stepping on my toes, feel free to offer any suggestions you like. As for the Gecko, escpecially the Madagascar Day Gecko (Phelsuma standingi), they live in trees and even have specialized structures on their toes that allow them to be great climbers. They are also mostly active during the day (diurnal). Adults are bluish-gray with dark reticulations on the large head. The large eyes have round pupils.
Based off these charactersitics, I would go with something like Arboreal - the tree dweller, Diurnal - active during the day, Leapster, Insectricide (they eat may insects), Suction (for their toes), Slimey, Bugeyes, Petrie, Ducky, Spike (Land before time rocks), MadecKo/Madko/Mecko etc... That's all I can think of right now.

OOH, coming back to edit - How about Gumby. HEHEHE

Absolutely love it, would not change a thing. I agree 100% with Pixymajik. Good one.

*dementor*: I_See_Thestrals is right, a hippogriff is a flying creature with the head, wings, and forelegs of a giant eagle and the body (including hind legs and tail) of a horse. The eyes are orange, while individual hippogriff colours vary as those of mundane horses do, including black, bronze, chestnut, grey, and roan. And remember they are very proud creatures. That said - Eaglehooves, Winghoof, Glidetrot, Shoeclaw, Wingtail, Snappride, Stompclutch, I like I_See_Thestrals's Proudtalon too.

I like things to remain simple, you could also go with Scratches, Blackluck, I think Omen reminds me of the grim a little bit, Dusty, Mystery, You could go with Mr/Mrs. Claws (too santa like I think), Witch, Binks (the name of the black cat from Hocus Pocus), Trouble, Sooty, Crispy, Smokey or nightmane.

Hope I helped this time around. Sorry again for the anubis mix up, I guess I should stick too my animal instincts rather than try Ancient Egyptian, I'll do a little more research before making a suggestion in that area.
Padfoot08
Hmmmmm... I already commented on this page. However, after close examination of myself and the names of the Mauraders, I have come to a different conclusion. My animagus is a dragon. So i was thinking of something like Horntail or something.
"Mssrs. Moony,Wormtail,Padfoot, and Prongs, and Madam Horntail."
Sounds weird. I don't know whatever. Someone should make up like a quiz or something for this.

Yeah, i tried to start up a similar post, but i was a new blood and hadnt read the rules, so it got closed. If you dont mind me passing out suggestions, that would be great. Thanks for the suggestions bout the gecko, but i should have mentioned i wanted it to sound femanine, for the idea is for a young female character in my fanfic. im using Nighteyes for my main male character, and his sister is the gecko. thusly the tile will be Nighteyes and .... (one syllable preferably). I must Kal'Norime on it!

I leaned away from te quiz because I didn't want to tell people what it should be, I like for people to make up their own minds. I don't like telling people what to do. Besides, this isn't a personality or character thing, it is about what sounds good to you. For instance, you are a dragon, and horntail is obvious, I would have leaned more toward a non-obvious name like Firehorn or Silver-scales or Mrs./Mr. Drakkon. But you chose Mr./Mrs. Horntail because you liked the name, not because someone told you that is would be good because of your sarcastic. This thread just doesn't take those ideas into account.

However, in the beginning of the thread i mentioned that if anyone wanted a quiz I would modify it and add one. SO I will post some questions that will help me figure out what a good name would be.

Also I_See_Thestrals, you can create a quiz if you wish, or help analyze the answers and give your own suggestions, I know you would like that. So here are my questions:

1) What is you animagus? Why? Give color/size - details please!!
2) Who is your favorite/least favorite Maurader and why?
3) Give any defining physical characterstics of your human form
4) Describe your personality, the good and the bad
5) What would you do for fun, both in animagus form and human?
6) What group of students would you hang out with?
7) What house are you in?
8) What is your favorite/least favorite subject
9) What is your patronus? Why?
10) What name would you chose and why? You may get this name, you may not, I guess it depends on how it relates to the above answers.

Ok, well there you go, for all that need help, or aren't sure, or just want eith my or I_See_Thestrals's opinion, answer the above question I will get back to you.

If, you wish to just state your Maurader name, you do not have to use these questions, just state it. If you want an opinion, explain why you chose that name and I will give suggestions.
