For some bizarre reason known only to my subconscious, I've been thinking about one of the scariest things that's ever happened to me, and since it just seems to want to linger in my thoughts and I have to go to bed soon, I thought maybe if I shared it, it would stop bothering me, so here goes...

It was a few years ago and I was sharing a two bedroom bungalow with a guy friend of mine. We weren't dating, so we had seperate rooms and on this particular night I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling wide awake for no reason. I was watching the shadow of a tree flicking across my wall when the outline of a head appeared.

My heart skipped a beat or two as I watched it creep slowly along the wall, and without really even thinking about it, I got out of bed and went to the window.

I was on the ground floor at the front of the house, and this was a pretty warm evening and I had my window wide open, but it was one of those sliding windows that had a flyscreen. (A definite must anywhere in Australia rolleyes.gif ) Anyway, I pressed myself up against the flyscreen to see if I could see what the person was doing, and I saw a dark figure come up the front step and pass the front door and turn towards my direction. I lost sight of him then because he was hanging so close to the side of the house, but by then my heart was thumping faster than honey-eaters wings! I was pressed against the flyscreen trying to see, and suddenly, the dark figure was at my window right in front of me.

I don't know what I was thinking, but I immediately started pounding on the flyscreen and yelled "GO AWAY!" in a squeaky voice. The guy was so taken by surprise that he flinched, almost stumbling backwards, swore loudly, and then turned and bolted back the way he'd come.

I ran into my housemates bedroom and screamed that someone had been at my window and to my surprise, (and horror) he took off out the door after him! Well, in the end he came back without having caught up with the guy, but oh my, I never slept in that place with the window open again after that!

Some years earlier, on the night of my brother's 18th birthday party, when the last of my friends had gone and I was the last to go to bed, I was standing in my bedroom, which was on the ground floor at the back of our house, changing out of my clothes and into my nightwear, and I thought I saw something flash in the window. (I had the curtains wide open because there was a high fence just outside)

I once again walked to the window and pressed my face against the glass to peer out, and I saw someone pressed up against the wall just outside. I bolted out of the room, clutching my clothes to my body and ran into my brothers room panting that there was someone at the window, so he ran into my room and couldn't see anything, but as I walked out into the family room I could see someone rushing passed the window, so I yelled to my brother and he came sprinting in and saw the guy too and in a fury he raced out the front door. (What is it with guys?) I was throwing my top back on and running out the door behind him and low and behold if one of his so-called mates wasn't standing on the front lawn after having scrambled over the gate!

My brother asked him What the heck he thought he was doing and he said he had come back for a hat or something and my brother said to him, "WHERE'S YOUR BLEEPIN CAR THEN!!" Turns out it was parked out of sight at the end of the street! Eek! blink.gif

*sigh*, well there you go, it's off my chest now. My two yucky peeping-tom experiences. I do feel a bit better. I guess I just have the willies tonight.

Owh Razz... it's a good thing to start this topic because I still have one terrible heart-stopping memory that's bugging me. Maybe I feel relieved if I share it with all of you wink.gif

One of the few heart-stopping moments for me, was when I had a sleep over party at my friends place. We were fourteen and decided to go for a walk in the middle of the night (with a group of five) because we weren’t tired yet. As soon as we went outside a white van drove by and a few minutes later the same van crossed our path again. One of the guys on the inside of the van lowered his window and yelled something at us, we were so scared and started running as fast as we could.

While we were running we passed our former school and decided to run through the gates there, to hide for cover. When we reached the gate we saw men with flashlights walking over the playground so we decided to turn the other direction. We hid in the bushes and saw the white van again, that’s when we started to get suspicious.

We had a discussion about what we could do and went to the headmasters’ home. Some of us wanted to ring at the door to see if he was awake, but me and my friend didn’t feel like disturbing someone in the middle of the night (though there were lights on inside). After some debating the group split up, me and my friend decided to return the way we came, so we could take a look at our school again. When we hid in the bushes to observe the man, my heart definitely skipped some beats (we were fourteen, what if those guys saw us?). After a while we couldn’t see the flashlights anymore and wondered if the men were gone.

When we were in the bushes we heard some cracking branches - I’ve never been so scared my entire life – and thought one of the guys was coming, luckily it was a couple of old seniors (I seem to have the wildest imagination when I'm scared). We didn’t want to give them a heart attack so we let them pass and stayed still. We decided to wait another couple of minutes to see if the coast was clear to return home, and then suddenly and unexpected my phone rang. I was so scared at the moment that I threw it on the ground ‘till it stopped.

When it stopped and I took it I saw that it was one of my other friends, they called to see if we were fine because they were so worried about us. We took off returning home, and while we were passing the playground there was no one to be seen.

The strangest thing is, we never heard anything about a burglary or so, we still don’t know what those guys were doing over there.
After writing this, I do feel relieved (though my heart skipped some beats during the writing of this).
*dementor*
wow.....i feel sorry for both of you...i would have freaked out seriously. ohmy.gif

.....now since my childhood i used to have nightmares of burglars coming in my home or robbers taking me and so on...it was freaky but anyhow i got over it.....the story im going to say happened a few months ago and totally freaked me out...bare in mind im only 11 so it was pretty scary!
it was two weeks after GoF came out and on that day i went on a trip with my school to watch it for my 3rd time. it was fun and enjoyable an i returned with smiles on my face. me and my mother wiht my elder sister were in my car, my mother driving. now on my road we have a pizza shop...mind you my road is the longest ever. so we stopped at the shop and my and my sister got off to buy pizza. suddenly i saw my mum waving to get my attention and i went to her and she told me that the car was not working. my sister came back with the pizza one minute later and we told her. she called my father and he called some worker. meanwhile it was getting late so me and my sister decided to walk home. after all it was the same road so it shouldnt be a problem. well we got home and my sister put the key in getting ready to use all her strength(she doesnt know how to open the door) but luckily it opened straight away. my sister is known for her braveness and cleverness and shes pretty good in most things so when i was talking off my shoes and i saw her looking around suspiciously my heart started pounding. "whats happening," i said shivering. "nothing, nothing," was the reply. i felt relieved an went upstairs to get changed and go on the internet on VTM and discuss the days trip with my fellow friends (like *potter* my best friend). now on the car my mum had told me that she had been out since 7.00 and so had my dad and my 2sisters so when i saw the light of the bathroom open i gave a scream. "milad, come quick the lights are open and you know mum and dad, they would never have opened it they hate wasting" i said trembling. "maybe it was mum accidently," she said but i could see her shivering too. i saw her checking that all her rings and special jewellery were there and i was surprised. since when did she ever do that and why was she so un-reassuring?
i was scared and no word could describe my shock. my nightmares were actually happening. i went down and together me and my sister ate the pizza but i didnt care about anything now. all i wanted was to be safe with my mother and father next to me. surprisingly my sister didnt hide away anything from me and marrated her shock.
"when i put they key in," she said. "it opened straight away and i think a burglar has been here since the tools belonging to dad are all spread out in the garden" she finished. "what...noo wheres mum. call her please" i said shaking my head in despair. however things turned worse then i had expected when my dad called my sister to tell her to bring her mobile to mum, whos credit had finished and could not contact anyone. he also told her to leave me alone in the house he then said bye and switched the phone off. my dad had always wanted to make me braver but how could he leave me alone at home. at this i cried and cried and begged my sister not to leave me. i couldnt understand how anyone could do that. why! my beautiful day was spoilt. finally after i had cried a thousand buckets she gave in and we ran to the pizza shop fast. i spotted the ar and ran to it. i hugge my mother and some person was doing the car. the car was done and we went home, as i related what had happened to her.
when we got home she called my father and told him but to this day my dad and my eldest sister do not agree that it was a burglar.
i am sure it was and this was one of my worst experiences ever and i can tell you how freaky it is.

i hope i didnt bore you! wink.gif ouch my heart is pounding now as i remember that ghastly day and its awful memories...
Hermione_Resilda
Nah, *dementor*, that was heart pounding, and I would have just run to my mom at the exact moment I realized something was amis.. Hehe, I would have been sobbing if I was in Razz and Marieke's place dry.gif .
Well, here's my *horrifying* tale..

This happened about eight years ago. I was about 5 or 6 at the time. That long ago, I was still in Albania, and that year in October, I was to move here. But anyway, before that, there was sort of a civil war in the country. A lot of shootings went on, but they were right in front of my house! They always happened right where the neighborhoods were, and so someone was always likely to get shot.

So, these 'battles' happened frequently, and whenever they did, my mom and grandma would move our couch so we could be safe. But, my dad didn't care about anything, he was always lying on the couch, and watching sports. It was kind of annoying, but I didn't really think about it because my fingers were smashed in my ears to block out the gun noises.

There was this one particular time where it was noon, and my dad, again, was watching soccer/football. Suddenly, we heard a blast...sort of a high pitched bullet, and we realized that a bullet was shot at our satellite dish! When this happened, my dad rushed towards us because, obviously, he became scared...
Thank God that about two months after that, we moved here, and these 'things' stopped.

Well those don't sound like your most happiest moments thats for sure. I have had my share of moments like that, a friends death, a stalker, death threats, and all in the past year. Well the stalker made the death threats but there were a lot of letters.

The stalker guy wasn't scary at first. I thought that it was some other football team trying to mess with my mind, so I didn't really think about it too much. One day after school, I went home and got the mail. When I opened the mailbox, I saw a dead bird. I got a stick and moved it out of the way and got the rest of the mail and took it inside. When I was going through it, I saw something that was addressed to me and had not address on it. I opened it up and it said 'I'm coming for you'. I just thought that was someone from another school thats on the football team. So I threw that one away.

A few days later, I get another one of these letters and this one said 'Did you see me following you? You better be careful next time you go out to eat with your girlfriend' This kinda freaked me out so I told my dad that there was someone sending me letters. I showed it to him and he said just to be careful when I go out.

About a week later, I got another one and it said 'Your father will pay for what he did to me' So I showed this to my dad and he said to take it to the cops. So I took it to the cops and they said to tell them if it happens again. By then I was getting kinda worried but I didn't want that to show so I left the person a letter that said 'Tough guy aren't you'. Now if you know me, I like to be smart with the wrong people so i found that letter wrinkled up in the mail box a few days later.

So a few weeks go by without a letter from the guy and then his last letter was 'We'll see who the tough guy is...' those last ... were red so I took this to the cops and they put me in touch with this guy from the FBI. I brought my father with me to meet with him. My leg was shaking because I didn't think that this was FBI serious. My father has worked with some FBI agents before with is company and he was all calm about it. I FBI agent said to call him as soon as I get aonther letter.

A few days pass and I got another one and it said 'I'm still watching you'. So i called the FBI agent and he came over and looked at the letter and talked to my dad and then left. After he left, my dad ask me if I was doing OK and he had kind of a worried look on his face so I asked him if this has happened to him before and he shoke his head yes.

A few long days went by and then I got his last letter and it said 'Meet me at the park tonight so we can talk' I told the FBI agent what it said and he came over to my house and I asked him if we could just catch the guy and get it over with. The agent said that it would be ver dangerous and it didn't matter to me. It was just another adrenllin rush for me. So the agent called for back up and told me exactly what to say to get this guy's confession as soon as possible.

I was about 9 at night at I told my mom I was going on a 'run', she didn't know about any of this, and that I would be back soon. I went out and jogged to the park with the agents following behind me. I got to the park and my heart was racing and i was going over the worst case senerio in my head and then I hear someone come out of the bushes behind me and my heart stopped. I turned around and he had what looked like a guy pointed at me and I froze. We talked for a few minuets and one of the FBI agents snuck up behind him and arested him. It turns out that this guy went out of business and into bankrupt and lost his wife. He is now serving 35 years in prision.

Well that my scare story. It was quiet an experience, I'll tell you that much.

Wow Secretkeeper! That was relly creepy! And the rest of you guys! I never really had a heart-stopping moment..yet...
Does riding "The Hulk" at Islands of Adventures count? laugh.gif

this started on a normal summer's day a couple of years ago, but I was fearing for my life, but in an ironic situation.

my friend called me up, asking if I wanted to do anything, but I already had plans to go to this amusement park called Lagoon with my mum, and I didn't want to be all, "I am busy, go away," so I invited her to go with us, on the condition that she paid for herself to get in. about an hour later we were there, and we were trying to decide what rollercoaster to go on first, and my friend wanted to go on this one really scary one called colossus-fire dragon, and it was really fun but there is this one part on it where it stays upside-down for longer than normal, and when we got to that part, it was supposed to speed up, but instead, it slowed down, and finally stopped. we were hanging upside-down for about 2 hours, and we all thought we were going to fall to our deaths. the people running the rollercoaster called the fire department, and they had to bring us down one at a time with a cherry picker, because no matter what the people did, they couldn't get the rollercoaster to budge, and they had to shut it down afterwards. I was freaked out, and I wanted to go home really bad after all that drama, and neither my mum or my friend objected.

so scary unsure.gif ,

Oh, yall... ph34r.gif That's some scary stuff. The whole time I read your Razz I was mentally yelling at you for going to the window: "What was she thinking?!?!" Matey that's not safe! wink.gif That goes for all of you who posted...talk about thrill issues. rolleyes.gif

Mm...I can only remember one time where it actually felt like my heart stopped. It happened last year (this is actually what caused my disappearance on the comment boards for those who noticed...) in February I believe. My dad, my brother and I were all at home. My dad and I were in the living room watching football (I was complaining rather loudly...), and my brother was in the kitchen messing around with something. We never found out what because he came into the living room a moment later doing this half walk, half crawl and he was clawing at his mouth. That scene froze me, I just stared while my dad jumped up and tried to dislodge whatever he was choking on. Nothing worked, and I just sat there useless, watching...It was if possible the worst feeling I've ever felt.

My dad carried my now unconscious brother to the car and raced him to the hospital, leaving me at home by myself...I remember the phone ringing but I didn't answer it. I was later picked up by my grandparents and brought to the hospital where we sat in the waiting room with relatives.

A few days later my sister and I were asked if we wanted to see him and of course we did, so they brought us back to his room, and I swear my heart did not beat for the first second I looked at him. He was so small covered with tubes and all these machines were around him. I broke down later when I got out of the room. It was absolutely the worst sight I've ever experienced.

But there is a happy ending. smile.gif My brother went through months of rehab because the oxygen he lost going to his brain had tampered with his motor skills, but he's made a one hundred and ten percent recovery and is in the fifth grade excelling in both academics and sports.

I got some serious chills writing this for the first time, but it feels nice having it off my shoulders. Nice thread, razz!

omg. I just do not know what to say. I read all of your stories and they gave me the chills. I am going to have to think about a story because I feel guilty not posting my own after reading all of these..
I can't think of anything as of now, but I think about it and post tomorrow. Ahh! I am going to have nightmares....people at my window, stalkers, getting stuck upside-down on roller coasters....eeessshhh that is some heart-stopping, dangerous stuff...

Listen, David, you don't have to feel ashamed of not being able to think of any heart-stopping moments ... you should be glad that this kind of thing passed you by!

My heart-stopping moments are fortunately brief. The heart skips a beat, you utter an expletive, and carry on.
At all those times I was pretty sure of what to do, and since there was no one else around to help me I had no time to be really afraid. Fortunately, I never felt completely powerless, even when I was.
razzberry2
Oh dementor, its just horrible to think that your home has been broken into, you feel so violated and unsafe!! And Resilda, I have heard a lot of stories like that from my ex who was from Kashmir. There was regular gun battles on the streets and people used to come to their door pointing guns and demanding money for their 'cause'. Just awful to think that people live with that sort of thing.

Secret ohmy.gif Crikey!! The thoughts of having a stalker who is threatening you like that is absolutely terrifying! People like that, you just don't know what they're capable of. You were very brave, and I'm so glad its sorted. Nymph, I cant imagine the how awful that would be stuck upsidedown on a broken ride! Not to mention the headache you'd end up with ph34r.gif

Gawd Aphie, it must have been rather exiting investigating what those people were up to! Its good that you had a friend with you.

It might have sounded a bit that way, but it wasn't a thrill thing, really. I just don't know what it is about me but when something scary is happening, I don't know what else to do other than investigate it. I've always been the same.

This one will creep you out...

When I was in college, my dad bought me a flat so I would be within easy work of school and work because my parents live in the country. The caretaker for the place was named Patrick, and he was pretty helpful to me because I guess he saw I was young and alone, so he gave me his number and told me to call if I needed some help. Well I did on a couple of occasions for small things, and we got talking and he told me how his family, including his two children, wanted nothing more to do with him, so he was alone too. He also told me about a collection of masks he had in his flat and invited me to come round and look at them and I said I would some time, though weirdly, I hated the idea. There's something about masks that creep me out! And after that, I always was a bit uncomfortable with him.

But I was really sympathetic about his family though, and said how I thought it was really awful that his kids wouldn't talk to him, because he always seemed so nice. Anyway, as time went on, a couple of times very late at night I could hear someone walking up and down the veranda outside my flat and I mentioned it to Patrick and he said it was him. He said he often walked around keeping an eye on things, which should have made me feel better, but I was getting more and more uneasy around the guy.

One night I came home late from an evening out and as I turned around in the shadowy carpark after closing the car door, Patrick was standing right behind me. My heartbeat stopped in surprise when I saw someone there, but once I saw it was him, I should have relaxed right? But I couldn't wait to get inside my flat. He "said" he was just checking the place out again.

He disappeared from the appartments not long after that, and I could see a new caretaker around doing things, so I asked my neighbour what happened to Patrick and she looked at me stunned and said "Don't you know?" Well it turns out that he was arrested and was being held in prison until his trial for murder blink.gif Apparently years before a young girl had gone missing on her way home from school and Police had questioned loads of people but they never found a body so they couldn't pin it on anyone. Then one day they were digging up the foundations of an old strip of shops and uncovered her dismembered remains in a garbage bag sad.gif and it turns out she was buried under a shed at the back of a shop Patrick used to own at the time of her disappearance! ph34r.gif I watched the case on the news and "Patrick" (which wasn't his real name at all) was convicted! Apparently he used the masks when he had her and I can honestly say I felt sick at the whole thing...

Oh my god. Ok here's my story. Everyone was soooo freaked out.

Ok our church is an Armenian Church, so we were holding an Armenian Festival or something. It was foggy outside and all the boys...From toddlers to teenagers were outside playing football on the parking lot. Across the street from the church is an apartment building where this guy set it on fire or something...And since the police were after him...He thought it would be smart to hide in the parking lot. {There are corriders and everything...Our Church has an extra building connected to it...and yea!) So anyways, I see the police in the sign in hall of the extra building entering. Me and my freind were playing paper hockey and they asked where our parents were, brothers sisters ect. We said brothers are outside, parents in the dining hall.

So then all the parents come rushing in and we here bullets outside. I was soooo scared. My brother was outthere and everything! So that's pretty much it. The dude got cought...And we were scared for like...hours.
felix_felicis_444
OMG Razz! That is one of the scariest stories I have ever heard in my life! Wow...that is one of those stories that you tell people at 2:30 in the middle of the night at camp to scare them half to death! I am so glad that you are okay! That guy is insane! I really do not know what I would have thought if I found out that my caretaker (not that I have one lol) is a murderer.....ahhh lets change the subject, no? wink.gif

I do have a story, but seeing as nobody believes me that I have told thus far, I do not see why any of you would. But I will tell you anyway.

When I was...I guess 5 years old, I was in my room sleeping. In my old house, my bed was right against the wall, which had a window on it. The shades on the window let in a bit of light when it started to get sunny out. When the story I am about to tell you happened, it was already getting a tiny bit light outside, so I suppose it was around 4ish in the morning. I was sound asleep in my room, when I feel a tap on my arm. Naturally, I woke up, but was extremely groggy, so I just closed my eyes and tried to fall back asleep. I asumed that it was my mom waking me up for some reason, who knows!? Anyway, I feel the tap on my shoulder again and slowly opened up my eyes and turned my head a bit, and there was this man standing next to my bead. I shut my eyes quickly, for fear that the man had seen me open them. He continued to tap my shoulder and then started pushing me. I went into a state of panic, and thought what I could do to make the guy leave. I did not want him to know that I was awake, nor did I want to make any noise for fear that he would kill me (I was only 5!). Just then, I remembered that I had this little, heavy plastic toy in the crack between my bed and my wall. It was only there because I was playing with it before I fell asleep and did not feel like putting it back on the shelf, so I dropped it down there. hehe. So, I moved my hand that was under the cover down into the small space, and grabbed the toy. I opened up my eyes and threw the toy at the man. Luckily, it hit him in his "private parts," and he fell backwards. He ran out of my room. I closed my eyes tightly, starting to sry a little, and I assume that I fell asleep because I do not remember anything else.

I do not know if that is even a true story. It did happen to me, but my parents insist that I was dreaming when I told them the story the next day. They said that the alarm was on and that nobody could have gotten into the house without them knowing. I still believe that it is true, and my parents tease me about it. When somebody says something really far-fetched, they say "Oh yeah, just like the time the man broke into David's room in the middle of the night." I DO have proof, however, because my toy was on the floor when I woke up, but I am the only person who believes my story. If this were to happen to me now, I have no clue what I would do. I would probably freeze out of horror...I was braver when I was little.....*sigh*

Yeah David, tell me about it! When I told my dad (who had met Patrick) just after I found out he'd been arrested, he went all pasty in the face and because we followed the case in the news, he later suggested that when he'd invited me back to look at the masks he might have had something in mind. unsure.gif I don't know, and thank god I never found out! Funny how you just get a feeling about someone. I don't know if it was a "sixth sense", but I never called the guy to help me out after the day he told me about the masks.
Krieltje
I’ve got goosebumps all over my body after reading those stories!

Ooh Resilda… I would freak out in that situation. I feel so sorry for everyone who’s going through something like that. Luckily you moved out from Albania.

Secret, That must’ve been one of the scariest stories I’ve ever heard. How did you get the guts to go to the park! I would’ve locked myself up in the house, after getting the second letter.

Being stuck in a rollercoaster *eek* I’m not the kind of person that loves rollercoaster rides so luckily I’ve never been stuck in one.

Aphie, I can understand you were shocked. If that happend to my brother I would be sobbing the whole day. I’m so glad to hear that he’s doing okay.

Razz wow, that story left me speechless. Who knows what would’ve happend if you went to take a look at his mask collection… ph34r.gif

David, you are probably not the only one who’s having a story that their parents don’t believe in. The story is really creepy, and I do believe you haven't made it up.

Gah, I'm sitting here at my desk reading all these posts, my heart thumping like crazy, and my eyes wide. Well my story is so much of a dark and scary story though I can honestly say that it was a heart stopping moment for me, and definately a painful one.

Well this was when I was living in Singapore and my family decided we should take a trip to Malaysia with a couple of my parent's friends. Well we were staying in a resort like sing which was very peaceful and nice, except the water had heaps of jellyfish. These were only the small kind so when they stung you it did't hurt that much. I'd been stung once in the ocean and didn't particularly want to get stung again, so we went down to a small beach that apparentaly had no jellyfish in it. Boy were we wrong.

Anyway we spend most of the time just building sandcastles and playing with a tennis ball. Mum and her friend were sun-bathing so dad's friend and him didn't want to disturb them. Anyway my dad, my dad's friend and I were playing with the tennis ball when my dad says "Hey, how about we take it into the ocean, it'll be fun". I didn't like the idea that much and asked him if there were any jellyfish in there and he said "No, otherwise there would be signs up, I can assure you there are no jellyfish in there.

So I said ok and we ran into the ocean just throwing the tennis ball and back and forth until I hit into something solid in the water. Immediatly I felt these long thin strips coil around my legs. The pain was immense. Never have I felt so much agonising pain in my life. My first reaction was to scream and run out of the ocean, so that's what I did. I looked down and the jellyfish was still attached to my legs, so I picked to tentacles off with my hands, stinging my fingers.

I rushed onto a beach chair where my father came running out after me asking the staff at the beach for help. They straight away ran off to get vinager. I kept wailing out because of the pain, luckily my dad's friend was a doctor who dealed with poisons so he was eager to give advice. They called for a truck quickly and lay on a bench thing at the back. I was crying a lot and kept on asking my dad if I was gonna die, he kept on reassuring me I wasn't going to which made me feel better.

I looked down at my legs which were covered in long thin burns, that seemed to rap all the way round my legs. The pain was as though I had just been whipped with burning metal around my legs. They took me to this local doctor because my wounds were serious. He gave me some pills and sent me back to my room. I lay in bed as my mum and dad watched over me both very concerned. I couldn't get to sleep because I was shaking badly with shock.

The next day I woke up feeling quite alright, though the leg that had been stung the worst had swollen a lot so my walking was askew tongue.gif . I asked my dad what I had been stung by and he said a box jellyfish. The bad thing was it wasn't till a while after that I'd been stung that I found out that it could have killed me. I stayed in my room for a long time and my mum came back and said that everyone in the bar was talking about me "the kid who got stung".

The scars have gone now except for one on my heel where the sting was the worst. That wasn't as dark as some of the others though it was still a heart stopping moment. Feels good to let it out though laugh.gif .

Happy posting,

Wow...all your stories are freaking me out.
Razzberry, omg how could you survive and you actually met a murderer!
And nymphadora you actually stayed for TWO hours...wow....
Dragontamer, you’ve convinced me never to look at an ocean from now on. sad.gif
Felix felicis444, I believe it...I know I cant believe my dad doesn’t believe the burglar thing...its so obvious.........aghhhh
Harry4lyf...don’t worry I would have totally freaked like I would have been shivering and crying my head off like a baby! tongue.gif
Aphrodite, if that was my sister I would go to school telling the teachers and acting so sorrowful so I can get let off for my un-done homework! wink.gif But I would be crying too and saying oh hopefully she gets better and....you know all that stuff about get well soon!
Hermione resilda, I really felt sorry for you...especially you were so young. How could you have coped...? I just remembered in July what happened in London.... oh gosh...I will say the story seeing as it totally affected me.... I was crying!

On the first day it was bombed it bombed a train near my school and we had a lesson but the teachers were watching news! Suddenly the teachers tell us to leave everything and come. We were taken to a park near the school. My school is a Muslim one and it is a Shia one…. I dont think you understand what that means. Well Muslims have Shia and Sunni. We believe in same things but slightly different in the middle. It’s confusing but anyway we were in danger because it’s the shias that the bombers were after. Anyway we stayed in the park and I was crying because my dad’s work was on the road of the bomb and my sisters were in that area too. So I was afraid of anyone being in danger. I use my teachers mobile and called my house but no one was home. Suddenly a number called my teachers and it was my auntie! I spoke to her in Arabic and she told me that my mother was taking my sisters home. Just then we heard of the next bomb and still my mum hadn’t come. Most of my friends went but we were still left. We then went to some other Muslim school nearby that was safe because it’s a Sunni one. It was weird being in some unfamiliar school. The most things I was worried about was the Harry potter book I was reading because my teacher hadn’t allowed me to take it with me. Well anyway my mum came and we were safe but we didn’t have school because my school area was closed because of the bombs.
On Monday when I came Back to school my lunch box was full of the rottened food and ughh it was disgusting but that day was all about writing poems about he bombs and that its wrong and whoever done it shouldn’t because nobody deserved it.
Well my dad was on the same road but thankfully nothing happened to him! My cousin arrived 5 minutes before the bomb so she was so close…I hated that day because even the teachers were frightened. I thought I was going to die that day and I was praying to god to make us safe…

Whoever wasn’t there is lucky because it was more freakier than the burglary! sad.gif

Ok I am only going to do one, because this is very special to me. It was music and I was drooling over this girl and I mean literally, there was drool coming out of my mouth, only I was thinking of her and I didn't know my mouth was open or drooling or anything. Anyway everyone saw I was drooling and I got taunted for weeks, all my friends knew why I was drooling.

I've got another heart stopping moment although it isn't as scary as the other one was.

It was a few years ago, my family and I were on vacation in Hawaii and I was surfing with some friends that I have down there. The waves were pretty big, 10-15 footers. I wasn't the best surfer out there but I thought that I could handel those waves. I waited for what looked like to be a good wave and paddled as hard as I could. I got to the top of the wave and I made my drop. I droped in a little too fast and I went back up the wave and almost lost my balance. I finally caught my balance and the wave barreled beautifully and then it started to close on me and I tried to get out and I couldn't so I ducted out of the wave and ent under water. While I went one way, my board strap fell off and my board went the other way. I tried to swim up but every time that I did, another wave came crashing down on me.

What felt like an hour being worked by all of these waves was really about 10 minuets until I was able to walk on the sand. I was soo wore out that I literally floated to the shore. Some of my friends saw me coming wash on shore and not moving so they called the beach guard and she gave me some oxygen. It took me about 15 minuets to catch my breath but I was soo wore out the rest of the day.

But the next day I was out there surfing again and it hasn't happened since then.

I wish I could share another story with you, but I don't have another one tongue.gif (maybe I should be really happy for that)

Dragontamer: Yugh, jellyfish! I also haven been stung a couple of times, but luckily we don't have so many over here.
The only thing I remember of that, is that it felt as if my leg was burning off. I don't even want to imagine all the pain
you've gone through those days.

*dementor* I once did a project about the Sunni and Shia and I still remember the differences between them.
I didn't knew that the war between those two is so violent and active! I can see why you picked this as a heart-stopping moment, because it definitely was.

secret: If that happened to me I would never surf again, I would be afraid I would drown if it happend again.
thesolitaryone
Umm....most heart-stopping moment.....

Would have to be a year ago (when I was 15), after I had been going out with my boyfriend for about 6 months, I fell pregnant (then, typically, my boyfriend dumped me). Before then, I had taken heaps of morning-after pills to stop pregnancies and didn't worry about any other protection. Well, I forgot one time...and the pills I had taken for so long were such a concentrate of hormones and other bad things that it forced my body to miscarry about a month later. The doctor said it would be very difficult for me to get pregnant again.

That whole month was a mixture of heart-stoppage and morning sickness. I guess that is the reason I have such trouble with commitment....I couldn't afford to dwell on it because I was in my second last year at school and was under constant strain form my teachers.

Though I have been through heaps, I still managed to keep it all from my nosey mother!

i know sad.gif i dont understand it myself really....and no one ever really explains but i have asked the sunni girls in my class who started screaming their heads of like hooligans....i guess that didnt work! unsure.gif

well anyway heres another story....(i seem to have loads wacko.gif)
this was totally freaky!
i was in P.E lesson and we were practicing for sports day, i was doing some jumping thing and in the practice while i was jumping i fel flat on my face and my heart started hurting and paining...(it wasnt pounding because for a split second it wasnt even beating)....all my class screamed (they thought i was dead) and i coldnt move...well anyway i missed two lessons sitting in the secretaries office!
now whenever i run my heart hurts a lot...it kills and i get a stich in my stomach...ouch....but i still manage...no one will EVER stop me form running...especially in P.E mad.gif
lol......i have just thought of another freaky moment....im not bothered to type now...i will say it later tongue.gif
Anglophile92
oh i finally have a heart-stopping moment...(besides riding the hulk laugh.gif )

in 6th grade there was a hit list at my school. i found out about it from the news. My mom told me to be careful whenever i went into the bathroom or was by myself. I was really freaked out, becuase i've heard of the many stories of what happens to the kids who are not careful. Luckily the girl who had the hit list was expelled that day. Not as scary as other people's story but scary for me.

Ygraine
Oh my....I've just been sitting here reading all your scariest moments...Razz...Peeping toms and murderers? *Eeeek!!* Aphrodite, i was nearly crying for you when i read your post, i thought your wee brother was going to die! No wonder it shocked you so much, I'm so glad that he's fine and is doing well smile.gif

*Dementor* I've been evacuated from buildings and resorts before because of bombs scares as well, I grew up in a major city in England during the IRA bombings little over 10 years ago (I feel old!!) but the bomb never went off when i was around. It sounded really scary, i'm glad that your family were all ok.

Resilda, i've heard a little about the civil war and the violence in Albania, That must have been scary! And so sad that your family almost got used to this occuring! sad.gif I'm glad that you seem to be safe and happy where you are now.

Secret...Stalkers? Big waves...all scary stuff! Your dad must work in an important company!! I've got goosebumps from reading all your stories. I must admit, my scariest moments, are nothing compared to some of yours, but they were scary nonetheless.

The first most recent is that there's a rapist on the loose in my area that i walk through all the time, nothing i can do about that unfortunatly, i'm just being careful and sticking to main roads, and my friend (who i'm normally going to if i'm in the exact area that the poor girl was raped) is more than happy to put me up for a night if i don't feel safe going home. Infact she encourags me to do so smile.gif

The second, is at new year i met a gut called Steve, he said that he'd met me a few times, i thought nothing of this, i generally meet people and then forget about them ten minutes later tongue.gif (they seem to remember me however) Any way, it was New Years Eve, so i was very...very um....drunk. And i wasn't in the right frame of mind to go...umm who are you? He seemed nice, we danced, we kissed, my mate said, he's hot go for it if he seems nice, so i did, he walked me home...(although i sent him home...not that type of girl you know tongue.gif) Any way got a text from him in the morning saying he got home alright. Meanwhile I'm ill....very ill...in fact i thought i was dying. (Don't drink, it's all bad! *she says with a hang over* rolleyes.gif) in the evening i text him back, saying, i'm glad, are you having a good new years day? NO text back. Didn't think much of it, a bit disapointed though. In the eveing i meet my friend (about 9) and she says she just realised where she knew Steve from before (she was saying that she recognised him also)

'That guy from last night, Steve....yeah, that was Physco Steve!'

Of course...now i knew him! And i had met him before!! (he'd had shave and a hair cut --two bits!-- sorry ) I had been terrified of him, Beating people up, getting banned from clubs pubs, threatening to kill girls who didn't love him when he loved them....unsure.gif

In fact, i should have realised when i was out, i was moaning about my ex, who was there. Now, any one who's spoken to me on the boards will know about my heinous ex boyfriend, and Steve was saying, 'you'll be alright, i won't let him near you, i'm a black belt you know...' but i was too busy looking for my jumper (which was never found ) to take the information in and flash danger signs in my head.

He's texted me a couple of times, i've planned to be civil to him, i don't want to end up dead or beaten up. But it's pretty scary, not looking forward to the inevitable meeting.

Another story that was scary happened the day before i turned 18, i had just gone to see Pirates of the Carribean for the fourth time or something ridiculous like that, and it was about 9pm, so i decided to walk the half hour walk to my house. Any way, i'm on the main street, where all the shops are and pubs clubs etc...and just outside Waterstones, this man, comes up and speaks to me.

'Would you believe me if i said that you were the perfect woman i've been looking for?'

I'm walking away from this man, smiling being polite and he starts following me. 'I mean it, you are gorgeous, pleases, what's your name?' So i tell him.

'Please, can i have your number? I'd really like to call you, get to know you. You are just what i've been looking for. Please!'

I'm panicking now, so i just say, 'I don't give out my number to any one i've just met, sorry.' (which is a complete lie)

'Where are you going? can i go with you?

'oh, i'm just going Home.'

'I'll walk you, can i walk you home?'

'Um....no,. no you can't.' I'm terrified now, not to mention, i stupidly walked down a different street that has a park next to it!!! so i'm on my own....I'm about to run, or scream or something, just to get away, my legs are shaking, and i'm about to cry...

Luckily, some guy who I know (And hate i might add) walks past and thankfully stops to speak. So i mouth 'Help me' and he asks where if i'm going home (he lives rather near me) and if so he'll walk with me. I politely say to this other guy that my friend's here and i've got to go. And practically grab Scott's hand to run away. And thank him! I hate this boy...hate him, but at that moment, i could kiss him, i was so glad i could get away!

I get home, and i tell my dad what happened, he's pretty freaked out by it. But tells me about the oil exhibition going on (my city's a fun place!!) and if he said he came from pakistan, that he would have been visiting here for it and might not have known how to approach a girl he was intrested in (i mean...it's hard!) and he wasn't wanting to hurt me, but was being genuine most likely. That calmed me down a lot. I just hope that the man doesn't get into trouble with some other girl he approached! unsure.gif

Another one, was when i was about 15 and i was trying to get to sleep (insomniac) and i heard noises coming from another room. I'm scared, i lay away listening, and there still there, strange grunting noises! So i quietly get up and out my bed and open the door. There ware planks of wood as we were decorating at them time lying around so i picked one up (with a nail in it...how cliche) and raise it above my head ready to strike at the person!

And then, i hear it again, the grunting noise....more loudly and more terrifying than before i'm about to stike, to wack that guy on the head, and I hear a noise i hadn't heard before, a sighing noise, content like almot...And then...I realised.

It was my brother snoring from his room.

Tht boy can snore for britain!! rolleyes.gif I was very angry at him in the morning for scaring me so much though!

(that was a long post...i'm all freaked out again!)

Yes, I don't know I can tell you his company but he is a business firm that deals with major corporations and businesses. He has an office near downtown Chicago so he is 'with the big boys' is what he told me when I was a kid

Ygraine, one of your stories reminded me of something that happened to me this summer. It wasn't a heart stopping moment but it my heart was rather racing than stopping.

Me and a few of my friends were at this club in Chicago and it was around 12:30ish and we were going to walk to a Starbucks and get something to drink. Theres about 5 guys and a lot of girls, about 10. So we are walking down the street and across the street we see these two guys grab this guy and throw him on the ground and started beating him. I took off running across the street and luckily 2 of my friends were right behind me and I grabbed one of the guys and pulled him off and my two other friends grabbed the other guy. So this guy took a swing at me and I dodged it and tackled him and this guys friend picked him up and ran. While all of this was happening, my tow other guy friends took the girls into the Starbucks and called the cops and they came and took the guy to the hospital for some cuts on his head and I think maybe a broken rib. We only got a warning for getting involved because the girl told the cops that all we did was get them off of her boyfriend. It was quiet fun being the hero. You don't think, you just react. I was very lucky that my friends followed me across the street or I would have been in the hospital.

Another scary moment happened this fall. Some of you may know about it but I got a sever concussion at a football practice. The next day I just stayed home and rested. The next day I went to school and I was sitting in class and I asked if I could get a drink. As I was walking to the door, I blacked out and the next thing I know, I was in the hospital. The good thing was is that I got to go to Italy for a few weeks to get better and clear my head of some things that I needed to get rid of.

I don't know if those are exactly heart stoppin moments, but they were exciting and scary.
Anglophile92
That kind of happened to me! I was in lunch (1:25pm dry.gif ) And I had P.E. we had to run the whole day and while i was in line i suddenly felt dizzy and i saw black spots. Thank God i was in lunch, or i would have passed out!

Another story: I hate dogs! My friends and i were doing a compeition for drama and so we wnet over to one of their houses. They had a dog. It was little. But the littles ones are the evil ones! Anyways nervously i walk into the living room. Then I hear this growl and BOOM the dog is on me! I screamed really loud! Not only do i hate dogs...i'm scared of them! blink.gif ph34r.gif

wow...all these are so scary...i have one thats scary to me at least...

so, about 2 years ago, my family got a new Ford Escape. My BFF and her parents "christined" the car by throwing quarters in it, to be used fr the first gas money. They were not to be touched or moved, or bad luck would come upon the car.

at first i thought that was just silly. then something made me change my mind. my mom was driving home from work one day and she had stopped at a red light in the middle of an intersection, a PPNL (electricity or something) tuck right next to her.

So, the light turns green, and my mom starts to go foward, but the truck driver (who hadn't seen my mom) started to turn right into a turn, which my mom was at the opening of. The truck crased into the Escape (the brand NEW escape) on the driver's side of the car. The dent literally went until about an inch next to my mother.

So, i get home from school, hearing about my mom's close call. I start crying and worrying about my mom, glad she was all right. My dad says that he took out the quarters a day before to use them for a vending machine.

Creepy, but heres the part that gives me the chills. My mom went to take the car out so she could get it fixed. The man at the dealer looked at the dent and asked what had hit her. My mom told him, and he looked at her like he had seen a ghost. He explained that if the truck had been going any faster, my mother would've been killed...

This just makes me think how LUCKY i am...how lucky my mom is...
Regan
Ygraine
Regan, that reminded me of a story that happened to me, (I'm glad that you're mum's ok smile.gif )

Anglophile? I'm terrified of dogs too! I'm normally ok if i know the person who owns it or if i see it everyday, but i'm still nervous around them. It's a full blown phobia and i think people underestimate it and think your silly being scared of some ones pet. But i sympathise with you smile.gif I don't mind the little ones so much actually becauseif they bug you they're easier to kick laugh.gif mean i know, but true. (btw i've never kicked a dog)

When i was little i used to horseride, and i used to always moan about having to wear the helmet. (you have to wear one, i think it might be the law...) but I was 9 and i hated it, made me itch, sweat and was just genreally uncomfortable.

Any way, i'm on this horse, McGinty, and were on the road walking back up to the stables, in a long line of horses and the one in front gets spooked by a car and bolts (runs off) and all the others follow it, including the little grey pony I'm on. Any way, i wasn't very good rider and i fell off the horse and fell under it, and the horse jumps over me length ways. If the horse hadn't jumped the whole way, it probably would have been killed or badly injured as it would have landed on me.

But that's not the creepy bit. I get up and managed to walk away, crying and in shock, a horse just jumped over me! I'm badly bruised but apart from that I'm fine, one of the girls had hurt her knee. so i go up to the stables and i get taken home. And i tell my parents what happened. My dad asks to see my helmet, so i take the covering off (that silk thingy that you see jockies wear on theirs) and all over the helmet, are little white dots. So I get a new helmet.

Don't think anything of it, until a three weeks later my dad meets a horse riding enthusist, and he tells her that i had fallen off on concrete and my helmet had little white specks all over it. This woman went white as a sheet and practically yells at my dad to get me a new helmet as that ones ruined. He informs her that we had done that just incase and that i was riding again and fine smile.gif

She gives a small smile, and tells him that the little white specks would mean that my helmet was smashed inside and if i hadn't been wearing it that would have been my skull... blink.gif

I never moaned about having to wear one again. And I'm always yelling at people to wear one on bikes, as a helmet did actually save my life smile.gif
*dementor*
wow...thats creepy "HELMET SAVES THE DAY"
lol....but you dont really need them on bikes wacko.gif
well i dont wear them on bikes!!

grr, i came up with two stories last night, but now i can only remember one ( dry.gif ) ok, well heres the one...

when i was 7, my baby bro was born. his name was and is Ethan (hes not dead) well, he was only a few months old when this happened, maybe only 3 or 4 months...

ok, well, i used to live in townhomes when i was little, so i had a lot of kids to play with. so, one day i was out playing with my friends, and my parents were inside with little E. so, i came to the back door to get a snack, and there was mom, saying we had to take E to the hospital. my heart nearly stopped when i asked what was wrong...my mom said that my brother was dehydrated and wouldnt eat...now, i dunno about all you, but a baby being dehydrated is a VERY serious thing.

so, we got and rush my brother to the hospital, me shaking and crying as we went. we took him into the doctor's office, and she told us to go to the emergency room. we ran him over, and my mom and dad went in with Ethan to get him all ready and whatever. then i got to see my bro..my tiny little bro...he had a tube, stuck through his arm to make him eat. it scared me so bad to see him lying there, with his arm stuck out. he looked so tiny and scared...

so, Ethan had to stay in the hospital. my mom took me home and i asked her like a million times if E was going to be ok...finally, Ethan came home, all ok and everything...sure he was in the hospital for about a week, but he was home, safe and sound...

again, another family scare...
Reg

Not sure if this counts as scary...but its wierd.

One day about five years ago (when I was in the 8th grade), my friend and I were walking home from school. These people from a Church were handing out fruit for some reason...actually...it was stand with Pomygranits (sp?) that had a sign saying 'Take Some'. Not to pass on a free offer, my friend took one...so I did because I had never tasted one. We headed down a short cut which was this dirt path surround on one side by a hill which led to houses, and the other with thick trees and the city runoff (like a river but with all the waste in it). When I pealed open the pomygranit, it squirted on my friend so he got mad and sat down on a rock to clean himself off. It was then that I noticed, right next to him, was a severed dogs head and its body was in a trash bag. After that, we just kept walking and nothing else happened...it was just odd to find that.

***Another time one of my other friend and I were in a park right by his house. We were sitting there when this group of 5 people started yelling at us from maybe 400 feet away. A few seconds later we see them charging at us running as fast as they can. I grabbed my bike and peddled away as fast as I could...but my friend was on a skateboard and he didn't go fast enough...so they gathered around him. Not one to leave my friend in certain doom, I went back and asked what they heck they were doing. They said they were yelling at us because we yelled at them...saying "**** you" and all that good stuff...but we didn't say anything...so they got the wrong guys. However, they were convinced that it was us, so one of them pulled out a knife and started waving it around, asking if we wanted to wrestle him. Well, as you might have guessed...we didn't because who would wrestle someone with a knife? After about an hours worth of a standoff, they gave up trying to wrestle us and we just went back to my friend's house.

***I guess my only heart stopping moment was when my mom went into the hospital. A year before she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and went through chemotherapy and radiation. However, it still spread throughout her body. A couple days after my birthday, my sister called me and asked if I wanted to get something to eat for breakfast. I put on my clothes and told my mom that I'd bring her something back...but she kept asking me what time it was and she kept reaching for her purse. I had no idea why she was doing this. When I was with my sister I told her that I was worried, when we got back...my sister noticed that she kept asking what time it was too. She called for an ambulance and they told us that she had either had a stroke or had an overdose. They took her to the hospital and we were told that she had siezure upon siezure on the way...and she was still having them while we waited in the ER. When she was finally sedated (sp?) and taken to her own room, we finally saw her.
She didn't recognize me or my sister, we had no idea what to think. She still had siezures and didn't want to use the restroom or eat a whole lot (she only ate jello). My other sister (who lived in Louisiana at the time) came to see her and be with us. While she was there, we were told that her cancer spread to her brain and spine. My grandma, uncles, and aunts soon came as well. Two weeks later she passed away. Its really hard to talk about, I feel depressed and like I want to cry right now just typing it; but at least I know she's not suffering anymore.
I moved to Louisiana with my eldest sister...

A good few years back, i was onboard a train going past Redhill (a train station), I must have been four or five. These three or four young men, probably about seventeen or eighteen, came charging into the compartment. They all had knives, and the woman who had the trolley was being threatened to give them the money in the box. Someone was calling the police, but the men were going to get away. Just as one was leaving, don't ask me why seems really weird thing to do looking back, i went and sent to him: 'You're a very naughty boy!' I was like four and this man was like What the _____?! So he goes to me 'Huggh what?' And i say 'You're a very naughty boy!' This man is just stunned and so are my parents, but there not saying anything. Once again he doesn't understand what i'm saying so i repeat. In the end he just through a really dirty look at me and my family and ran off the train and i never heard about anything again! Thought i'd share that with you guys!
Ginny Winter
aww...that sounds...weird, Nick...and funny! and thats sad, crsdba...but what i think is heart stopping is my own business...

anyways, icame up with my other story! well, i remembered it...

so, over the summer in 2005, i went to the BEST camp. there was rock climbing, archery, BB Gun shooting...and all that jazz...

so, one Friday, my group was at the rock wall. it was my turn, so i got the harness on, and the helmet and all, and i started climbing. as i climbed, i was thinking "why does it feel like something bad is going to happen?" then, when i was about 2/3 the way up, i lift my foot to a rock, and the rock is loose. my foot slips, and i go swinging of the wall and into thin air! (this wall is very, VERY high...) i like, scream and junk, and then i fly forward SMACK into the wall. i quickly reach out and grab onto some rocks. i come back down and everyone rushes towards me, asking if i was ok. and i was (thank the lord) but my legs were shaking so badly, that i couldnt walk...

Reg
Ygraine
Oh Chris, I'm so sorry! It must have been awful for that to happen! But yes, at least she's not suffering anymore. I've lost family to cancer as well, it's truely an awful disease.

*Dementor* Yes, you should always wear a helmet on a bike as well. It's really important, like i said a helmet saved my life, i hope that you wear yours in future smile.gif

Regan, I'm glad that your brother is ok. That sounded terrifying. I nearly lost my dad to Quinsy when i was a tot. It's when tonsiities (sp) get's ignored (rolleyes.gif My da... not going to the doc in time) and absesses grow and obstruct the air ways. It's really rare now, as most people get there sore throat cured by the doctor before it gets to the stage of quinsey.... everyone except my dad that st tongue.gif I don't remember it that much. I remember seeing him in the hospital, i was crying as it was so horrid to see tubes going into my dad... one of my first memories.

I don't know if this is heart stopping, or just amusing, and rolleyes-able at. I keep trying to get my ma to write it into a 'real life story mag though tongue.gif

When i was at nursery i didn't pay attention to the teacher, so i had a hearing test done and i was confirmed that i needed gromits (little holes in your ears to helkp you hear better) My mum's a bit apprehensive about it but decides, if that what the doc says...

Any way a few months later, i go in for the operation, and i get placed under the general anesthetic (i fell asleep in the lift i remember) and just before they make the insition the doc goes... 'oh no wait... no blockage' so i go out of theatre and my mum's livid and asks... 'Why didn't you check she didn't hvae a blockage before she went under the Anesthetic?'

I must have had a cold before i had the test done, which caused the blockage in the first place laugh.gif Yeah, so i don't know if that just amusing... Went under general anesthetic and didn't have an operation... rolleyes.gif It's an achievement though.

But i guess things do go wrong... people have a reaction to it. I might have died... unlikely though...

crsdba thats so sad... Ginny Winter thats sounds like it would have hurt! I went on something like that but nothing like that happened thank god!
Ginny Winter

thanks everyone...

and yes you should have been wearing a helmet. wink.gif

on the other hand, I've gotten in many accidents with my bike without a helmet...but that was a long time ago...but always wear a helmet.

I don't kick dogs either. I'm too petrified when i see them. My body like shuts down! I just freeze!

Well i have a really heart-stopping moment. It happened yesterday. We had early release, so we got out of school around 1:30. But my mother picked me up at 12:30. After the long waiting for my brother, we left school. I was really happy. I said "lets just get some Wendys and go home" But my mom wanted to get my brother's hair cut. So when we get there, its not his time yet. My mom buys us Wendys and i stay in the car, while they go inside to get his hair cut.

Things are going great! I am eating Fries, and listening to my favorite rock station on the radio (the car is parked). Suddenly i hear this noise. I turn the volume down and realize its the car! Then i see smoke! I start to panic now. Immediately, i turn the ignition off and calmly i run to tell my mom. The car is smoking! I'm scared becuae i'm thinking of how much trouble i'm gonna get into and what if the car blows up or anything.

This man calls the fire department. When they come, they say its just something wrong witht the radiator or something. So we have to walk home! It was a far distance. I got home at 2:30. It was horrible becuase you think stuff like this only happens to other people...not yourself! Man...the car is fixed now, but i'm still shakened up!

The weird thing is i had a feeling, an intuition not once but multiple times! I should listen to it more often! laugh.gif

Oh crsdba thats so sad.. If boggarts were real, mine would definitely be a family memebr dying. sad.gif That dog with it's head cut off is disgusting!! I would have nightmares if I'd seen that.

My heart stopping moments are not as scary as stalkers and poisionous jelly fish, I guess more "heart skips a beat' moments.

When I was in 5th grade, I would walk to the bus stop alone every morning. One morning, I walk past this house, and this little barky dog jumps out and starts trying to jump up on me. I'm not sure if it was trying to bite, or just be friendly, but I yell as loud as I can "STOP!! GO AWAY!!!" and the little dog runs off. The next week, I walk to the bus with my dad, and the dog comes out again, me and my dad both stomp our feet and yell at it, and the dog runs away. The next day I'm all by myself again, and the little dog comes out again, andis jumping all over me and snarling, but this time I yell and yell and the dog won't go away. I guess I was screaming pretty loudly, since this lady comes running out of the house and yells at the dog and if runs into the yard. I haven't seen that dog since, and it's been like 3 years or something.

This happened to my aunt... One day my aunt is driving on the highway, going to work, when she glances in the rearveiw mirrior and see's smoke coming out of the car. She keeps driving, 'cause shes not sure if the somke is coming from her car or someones else's. A few minute later she see's someone in the car next to her gesturing wildly to the back of her car. She glances backwards and sees flames pouring out of the back of the car. She stops the car on the side of the road, but is in too much shock to really process it. Someone yells "GET OUT OF THE CAR BRFORE IT EXPLODES!!" She fianlly gets out of the car, but is still standing too close too it. The amazing thing is that the car didn't blow up. It's like a one in a million, that with a full tank of gas, the car didn't exoplode. Alomst the whole car was on fire, but another miracle, her ID and insurance card are intact. The mechanics couldn't find anything wrong with car and deemed it a "freak accident"
El Barto
Thats wierd Emma Sophia...the car spontaneuosly combusted, at least your aunt was alright. That dog was wierd, but I have to admit I was thinking something bad was going to happen...like the one day the dog came running out with a hand in its mouth or something!

This is heart stopping, but only because I was being an idiot. I used to live in an apartment complex which shared a laundry mat. This happened few years ago, while I was doing my and my mom's laundry. Every once in a while I would forget to take one load back from the dryer, so I'd have to go back and get it. My mom kept insisting to me that I had forgotten one. So I went back and tried to remember which dryer they might have been in. So I open one up just to check...and it looked exactly like my mom's stuff...I look over and see these two guys smiling and looking out of the door. I turn my focus back on the clothes and pull out a pair of female underwear and think to myself "oh shoot, these aren't my mom's". Thats the exact same moment when the owner of these clothes...a huge wrestling looking, steroid taking, biker, possible knife-wielder, leather jacket wearing, tattooed up guy comes walking in and says from the door, "Do you wanna get the **** out of there." I instinctivley bolt up and say "oh, sorry, I thought these were my mom's"...or I would have said that if he hadn't said "I don't give a ****"." Needless to say, I don't even remember how I got home (not because he beat me up, its just because I don't remember it laugh.gif )

Ok...my story still scares me because it has happened repeatedly to my friend and I. We haven't told anyone for fear that they won't believe us and it would really get it off my chest if I could tell SOMEONE. Here goes....

I was spending the night at my friends house several months ago. We are both big into *magic* and such (movies and books about it like HP). It was about 11:30 at night and she was telling me about this really creepy ghost show on tv that was real. I don't believe in ghosts, but ghost stories always frighten me.

Well, we had to wake up early so I quickly suggested that we get into bed. She turned the lights off and we started talking and finally quieted down. *Now it gets scary*

We had turned off all the lights so it was pitch black, and suddenly her lava lamp started flickering. We both saw it and got nervous. I asked her if it was plugged in and she said 'no, it's broken'. Soon it began to act as if it was normal, flowing and casting shadows. We were both pretty freaked out now, because that's plain not normal. I was about to say something when I felt a really cold breeze flow through my hair. It was strong, and it blew my hair into my friends face. I looked up at the window and there was no cracks or openings. She looked for at the vent, but it too was closed.

I asked if we could turn the lights on because I was getting really scared. She shifted to get up when we heard a noise. It sounded like a melody of a sad song, but there was something strange about it. It made me feel strange; more scared because it popped out of nowhere. My friend was really freaked too. She didn't want to get up to shut off the lights.

We sort of laid there, not knowing what on earth to do, when the light flickered again. As it flickered, a shadow came across the window. It looked like a head or something, but we couldn't tell. This was equally terrifing since we were on the third floor; nothing could reach us.

The shadow got more and mroe clear and the music got louder. In one moment the exact same thought went through me and my friend's mind. We grasped each other's hands and *get this*- everything stopped.

The lights came on by themselves, the music stopped, the wind stopped blowing, and the shadow disappeared. Immediately I raced to the window to look for anything outside- nothing. I checked the corners for any cracks but there were none. My friend was examining the lava lamp. I went to it and saw a huge crack on the side where it had been broken. She checked the CD player and radio, and they were both unplugged. We said nothing, but slept in fear and confusion.

That's the story! I felt just as scared as I typed this as when it happened. To this day neither my friend nor I has told a soul and we can't understand how it happened. I know I was not asleep because she remembered the same things. If anyone has an explanation...I would love it unsure.gif

Dang drhpluvr4l, that would be freaky. I have a certain ghost-related incident but its nothing compared to that...

It was a while back, I think when I was 8 or 9...so about 9 years ago...I'm trying to get some sleep. My bed was kind of faced towards the door, which led into a hallway and then another room. So as I'm trying to sleep I suddenly see this thing right in front of that other door. I couldn't really make it out because it was dark, but a window kind of fed moonlight onto it, so I knew it was there. It was really small, like 8 inches tall (sorry, we Americans are mostly ignorant on the metric system laugh.gif ), and was standing on two legs. It appeared as though it had a tall hat on...it really did remind me of a Leprechan or something. So every time I opened my eyes it would inch its way closer...needless to say I quickly fell asleep. I really think that place was haunted anyway...

But three years ago, after having moved, my sister is sort of in this relationship with this guy who claimed that his father was a warlock and quit to be with his mother who was more pure or something. I'm thinking what you're probably thinking...what the heck?...but anywho...we're one day sitting around talking about ghosts and he says that his brother was attack by this little ghost flying around, and every time he swatted at it with his pillow, it would zoom out of the way and laugh at him. It sounds out there...but maybe it was the same thing I saw...He told me a lot of ghost stories...but I have no idea if they're true or not...

As for a song coming out of nowhere...after my mom passed away, and I had already moved to Louisiana, I was sitting outside (remember...it was like 90% humidity!) in the early evening and I start to hear this hum, like an angel's hum or something out of a Church. I was feeling depressed at the time, but once I heard it, I felt happy. It was wierd!

Yea, those weren't really heart stopping...I'll try to think of something that has happened that would really make you think...

woo hoo 600th post

Ooh crikey! Ghost stories like that really freak me out, more than real dangers because they're so ... unexplainable. I remember when my Poppy passed away (my dads dad) I was really scared because I thought he might drop by to visit me and say goodbye or something, but my dad said he would never do that because he would know it would frighten me, and that put my mind at peace. I was kinda young happy.gif

I had another incident that involved...I don't really know what you would call that. Here it is:

Several years ago (I was about 11 or 12) I went to this girl scout camp with raised tents. We had to go to bed at 11:00, so we were sleeping peacefully. All of a sudden, I heard a shriek. I didn't have my glasses on so my vision was limited. I saw my friend huddled under her covers in fear. I saw what she was afraid of, but didn't really understand it.

It was something glowing...bigger than a dinner plate. I first thought of a lightning bug but it's about 100 times smaller than that. She was whimpering and all 4 of us in the tent were awake now. It started to come closer to me so I zipped up my sleeping bag all the way, praying it would leave, whatever it was.

I peeked my head out and it was gone. I immediately jumped up and went to my friend. I asked her if she saw it clearly and she said no. I checked the closk and now it was the middle of the night- 2:00-ish. I looked outside to see if I could see the glowing thing, when I saw teh campfire. It was still blazing.

This was even more scary to me than the glowing thing. My other friend was a counselor, and she had told me that all campfires must go out at midnight, for it is very dangerous to leave them on all night with no one attending them. No one else was around, and no one seemed to have heard her scream.

One of the girls in the tent suggested we tell a counselor about the thing. Terrified, we ran to the counselor tent. They simply told us we were dreaming and gave us a broom in case "whatever it was" came back. We tried to argue, but they pushed us back.

We walked back to our tent when we heard a thunderclap. It started to rain, but the fire blazed on. All 4 of us stared at it with disbelief- it is not possible for fire to go on when it got wet. Trying to just forget about it, we decided to attempt falling asleep. Within maybe 2 minutes, the ting was back. We screamed, but no one came to help us. Finally it left, but we were badly shaken. It had come centimeters from my friends head, and she would not move or speak. She only stared into space.

I was getting seriously scared now. No one had heard us scream, and my friend was in a shock. I asked my other friends if we should take her to the counselors, but then something strange happened. Everything got quiet- there were no souds whatsoever. We were in the woods, and not one branch moved, not one cricket sounded. I was about to move nearer my friends when an ultra-violent, blindingly white light filled the tent. In illuminated everything, and I could see the fear in everyone's eyes. As soon as it happened, it went away. Sound returned, and we sprinted for the counselors.

They told us it was just the jeep, but we knew it wasn't. A jeep would have made sound. Then they tried the "you're just dreaming" thing again. To make them believe us, we told them to look at the fire, but it was no longer there. It had been extinguished by someone. They said it had been out since 11:00, and that we were just making up stories now. No one we ever told believed us.

That was the story! I dream about that night alot...it was terrifying. These strange things just happen to me, and there are alot more that were smaller incidents that I won't share with you. Things like unexplained lights and sounds, natural phenominon (sp?), strange things happening when I'm scared or feeling a strong emotion (no, I'm not copying HP, this is for real). If ANYONE can explain anything, I'd love to hear it.

Wow, this is weird that i saw this when JUST YESTERDAY I practically died. See im on swim team and I dont know how to swim so they gave me a floatie to go between the thighs and it elevated my lower body so my face was stuck in the water and as i did my last lap with it my goggles filled with water, i sucked in water and couldnt get my head up from under water. Drowning or thinking you are drowning is terrorfying.........anyways took me like a billion years to finally swim to the wall and recover it included lots of breathing hard and a lil crying teeeeee anyways yeah...thought i should share that now i'll read everyone else's biggrin.gif

Emma Sophia
Uhhh.. fjkrs if you can't swim, why in the name of Serverus Snape are you on the swim team?

That is really scary, though, feeling like your going to drown. I've gotten pulled under by waves in Hawaii, and it is very scary not knowing if your going to come back up again. Once one of my friends got carried away by a rip tide when she was visiting Australia, and luckily she got carried over to a little rocky sticky outcropping, and could climb out there, but that sounds very really scary.
fjkrs
Oh man! That sounds horrific! Lol Im on swim team because I want to learn to swim and because it's fun when im not dying trying to breath!

I read pages 1-3 and man, poor raz the murderer and hermy resilda omg i would have like died of scaredness lol some of those ghost stories are really freaky but i think ghosts are real I have a few things to say:

Ok so first my scariest thing would be, i spent the night at a friends house and I had a nightmare that all her dishes fell from her cupboards and when she and I went to see what was going on, we found a bunch of miniature bodies hanging in the cupboards all bloody (omg i shuddered) anyways so we look wildly around the room (in the dream) and see only a like cartoonish black hooded figure it was like something striaght off of Rocky and Bullwinkle or something lol and we freak out I wake up screaming and tell me friend to check her cupboards so she goes and OMG one of the doors is open and there is like almost a puddle of blood on a plate.
She screams bloody murder i run out and and see the puddle and we both freak out, then he cat comes limping in and it has one paw raised up and it's like..neckish area is bleeding because the bully cat she has beat it up while we were sleeping. So she calls her mom and dad who were out at a party and they tell us to wrap the wound and stuff the next morning we go to the vet. It was way freaking. Her cat jumped on the counter and crawled in the cupboard because it was only a kitten and it has these weird habbits of crawling in peculiar spaces like her cupboards and her stove drawers and then her pool table pocket holes and all sorts of weirdo places.

The next is when one night we had watched Saw and I freaked out because of that freaky voice that goes, "Dr. Gordon." And me and my brother are wrestling out in my big back yard and he keeps freaking me out by saying that in the voice so i freak and throw a fit and tell him i wont play anymore because he is scaring the bejeesus out of me and then we go our opposite ways.
My dad yells at me to take out the garbage and so i gather up all the stuff and go into my front yard where our dumpster thing is. I am just closing the lid when from the darkness I hear, "Dr. Gordon." In a state of absolute panic i push the can over spilling a little of the contents then bolt down my driveway and the street blinded by fear. my brother hops the fence laughing hysterically and I throw a few rocks at him then go in the house good bumps all over, and make him clean up the garbage that spilled. I tried locking him out but my dad unlocked the door. Man i was soo scared!
I have had 3 stalkers in my life one really weirdo one, and two minor ones. But i'll get into that another time.

bye

To be honest, I was laughing when you telling the part about Saw laugh.gif

But the dream was wierd blink.gif

I don't know if this is true, it was coming from a questionable person, but my sister's ex-boyfriend was telling this one time when he was living in Mexico that he saw the devil or something. huh.gif The thing is, he was at his aunt's house and they were going to sleep when they suddenly heard her scream. They go into her room to find her being dragged by a hooded figure who jumps out the window when the others come in. mellow.gif Then he said his grandfather and grandmother were fighting, and his grandfather got mad and went to an underconstruction house next door...next thing he knows...he's being choked by the devil...To me it sounds a little out there...

This other time I was walking home from school and out of the bushes jumps a couple gang members who choke hold me and put a knife to my throat asking me what I was gonna do about it. I didn't say anything...I mean I was scared <insert expletive>...but it turned out they were my sister's exboyfriends friends playing a trick on me (at the time they were together)

Speaking of dreams laugh.gif This one time I dreamt that my friends and I were being chased by a skeleton...every where we went, it would follow and shake and start reaching for us...next thing we know it starts crying and telling us that all it wanted to do was be our friend. Not exactly scary...
