I presume you mean magical races such as vampires, centaurs, giants, elves etc? I would prefer to be a wizard or a free elf like Dobby. Wizards because I like my humanity and they seem to have the best range in their magical powers. Also a free elf because their powers are almost to the level of Wizard charms or greater. Not to mention I could help people and not be owned by anyone.

I want to belong to the merperople, I love the water and would absolutely love to live in the water all the time. That would be my one wish.

I think I'd want to be a centaur, because they can gallop and read the stars and shoot bows.

also, they were pretty cool with Umbridge, so that gives them a big boost on my list

What magical race would I be? That is pretty easy, since I am already part of one. I am a vampire. I am part witch and part vampire. It is no difference from Lupin being a werewolf. Except, I don't transform once a month. It is an everyday thing. I suspect, however that if I were not a vampire I would want to be a centaur. They are old and wise and very mysterious. I would have to say I would love to be a unicorn,I know its lame,but I think they are cool mythical creatures.If not that then I would like to remain a witch cos I think that is probably good way to have well controled powers if you know what I mean?And I agree with Tuitus about being a free house elf like Dobby,I think that is adorable

I would be a phoenix, cos phoenixes are pretty and smart and strong and have healing powers.

i'm want to be a pheonix just like ginerva. being a pheonix would be way too cool and they have such a beautiful voice. if i had healing powers, i'd heal many people in this world.
another thing i love about a pheonix is that you have another life after you die. that's supposed to be really awesome!

Uhmmm, nice topic. Well, I definitely know what I want to be as in every role playing game(real, not online) my characters are normally elves if I've got the chance, that is, if the race exists in the game's universe. Also, in one of the games I play, Elric(before known as Stormbringer) there's this cool race called Myrrhn(can't spell it properly), and they're like half.human, half-birds, very tall with or without wings, but I liked the winged ones. I also combine that race with being a wizard or a priestess or something like that.

Being a dragon would also be cool(no one's said that yet )but a phoenix would be better.
However, I didn't think of the eternal life thing. That might not be to cool, becuase you would never get to see what Heaven is like and it could get a little tiring to live here forever.

Oooh, nice question! I would most definately want to be a witch who goes to hogwarts (plus, I'd want to be i Harry, Ron, and Hermione's year!). Being a phoenix would be cool too. You'd get to have eternal life and awesome healing powers. Unicorns are cool too, and so are threstrals. But a witch is my number one choice!

I think it would be so cool to be a phoenix! I would love to just fly over the treetops and clouds away from all the cares in the world.

Well, as for me, I would just want to be a wizard-but not just a-n-y wizard! I would want to be a Parselmouth, and a Metamorphmagus, and an Animagus! I would also love to have any powers of Divination(useful if I can harness them), and Legilimency,and I would want Moody's Mad-Eye,and Wormtails powerful hand wouldn't be bad either!And..well I can't think of anything else for now!

I would either be a phoenix or a dragon!!! They are both cool creatures and you can fly. I would most likely pick being a pheonix because you get eternal life and you get to heal people!

two top choices are pheonix and hippogriff. I would love the cleverness and the healing powers, and the gentleness of the pheonix. And i love the power, and angelic-nes of the hippogriff {pluss my favorite animal is the horse}

I love to be a phoenix.It is so cute and Intelligent pet i have everr seened,thats why i wanna be a phoenix.

I'd like to be a vampire, to bite those who don't diserve to roam our world(took the idea from a t.A.T.u. fanfic and I like it a lot)... and I like the night better than the day because that's when I'm closer to myself.
I'd also like to be an owl, to be able to help wizards with their mail and of course, to fly.

i would want to be a pygmy pufff....jokeing ...it would be kind kool for awhile though but know i would want to be a witch or unicorn, witch because i kind of like being a human (believe it or not) but if i had to be an animal it would be the unicorn, they are so beautiful, peaceful and really fast.

Well if I had the ultimate choice I would be an Animagus and I would change myself into a Unicorn. That way I could have both worlds I could be a human when I wanted a beautiful horned horse the rest of the time...

Regarding creatures:
A dragon would be great! I love dragons (specially after reading Eragon, hehe xD)

Well if there are other kinds of elves i'd be a Dark Elf.they are really eveil,except for that one special exception, and awsome fighters. If I can't be a Drow elf then I would love to be a unicorn.It is my Spirit guide.(Mikmaq people have animals as spirit guides).

Hmm, well I would probably just wanna be witch. You Know? Go to Hogwarts. My animagus, I took the test, would be a labrador!! If not a witch, a pheonix. They have the beautiful singing voice, and the wonderful healing power. Not to mention being reborn in the passed one's ashes. That is really pretty cool! But I would still have to say my first choice would be a witch.

I would definately have to be a witch, so I could clean house, do laundry etc using magic. And I would also love to be able to conjur up spells and charms so that i could use them to my advantage lol. Charm my hubby to clean up around the house lol. It would also be cool to be able to apparate anywhere without worrying about loading up the family in the car and paying horrid prices for gasoline!

I would also just want to be a wizard so that I could go to Hogwarts and learn all about Magic. I think that would be so great to be able to take classes such a Potions, Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts instead of boring classes such as math and french.

A few other creatures that I wouldnt mind being are a dragon or a phoenix. A dragon would be cool with all the mystical experiences, fire breathing and flying so easily. On the other hand, Phoenixs' have healing powers, eternal life and also the freedom of flight.

So my order of choice would be:

1) Wizard
2) Phoenix
3) Dragon

I think I'd like to be a wizard, because they have cool powers and alle the magical stuff lke wands, brooms, Invisibility cloaks and lots more. Yet, Elves and Goblins don't need wands to perform magic...
But I think that being a phoenix would be the coolest thing ever. They are intelligent, they can not die and they have the posibility to become pets of the most powerful wizards (see Fawkes) and help them...

Obviously like evryone else I'd like to be a witch first and foremost, but I wouldn't mind being a Salamander. I have no idea why but I am completely fascinated but these little fire-dwelling lizards. Fully eye-ball melting coolness.

I think being a witch will be good. And that too a muggle born.

hmmmm... well firstly id love to be a witch; magic would DEFINITELY come in handy! but if for some very odd strange bizarre reason i couldnt be a witch, then i would probably want to be a bowtruckle and live in the forest all day, or.....hmmm....something that flies....ooh a thestral! because i could fly, would have an amazing sense of directions (which i definitely need lol) and nobody could see me unless they saw someone die.

I would like to be a witch, but a half blood one... this way I would have the good things from both sides. I just couldn't stand not to know how a telephone works and stuff like that (remember Ron, it was funny but I wouldn't like it). Its just when you know how things are the muggle way you appreciate the magic way even more...

After i read this comment i decided that in hogwarts i would have to do muggle studies! i just think it would be more fun growing up in a magical family, because then you get to grow up playing quidditch and finding out about hogwarts and stuff. also you'll get to go to diagon alley before all the muggle borns

i would like to be part of a very old, wise race. i would love to have hundreds and thousands of generations worth of knowledge passed down to me and the power to use my knowledge. maybe something like an elf, because they are also physically strong and graceful, but only if the existed in Hp universe because i would have to go to Hogwarts, if not to learn, to teach at least for a while...

Of people/ creatures who are wise and friendly. And know how to defended themselves in times of danger.

If I couldbe a magical race in Harry Potter. I would be a wizard. I would attend Hogwarts. That would be the greatest.
