An additional book involving charactor depths and extras is wonderful!!! I love JK Rowling's work, and personally, I wish we could chain her to a desk and force her to write for us till we got sick of reading (not that we would). I know that sounds mean, but I am very sad to see the end of this series! I'll just keep re-reading them till I have 'em all memorized. ph34r.gif

i know we would all love to have an eighth book come out, but JKR said that she would not continue the harry potter series. she said that she will not write an eighth book, and she doesn't want anyone writing about harry potter and her magical world after the series has ended.
K_the death eater
I would really hate it if she didn't make and eighth book but she should at least make something that tells us alot about the questions I have after reading the books. But I don't think anyone would really want the HP books to stop. So I just hope she writes something about Harry, Ron, and Hermione's future or something like that.
mjane95
I don't think Jo would write any more HP books as she has said about killing two characters of to sorta finish it off. But if she were to write more I think maybe a sort of epilouge sort of book about life after the trio, their kids and so forth. Or maybe some more school books. I just don't know.
XOXO,
MJ

I hope JKR brings more books out maybe not about Harry but i think it woud be good for her to bring a book from another character like what 7134407 said but you never know she might want to write an entirely different series of books because it would get a little bit boring having to write about the same people all the time!! Anyway if i hear anything i will post back in here!! biggrin.gif

Well I do wish Jo to write more HP but if she was to write a completely different series about a different person I would support her fully.

The last Horcrux
It would be cool if she wrote a book from LV's point of view, that would be cool and you could see what he was thinking. More side books would be good too, although I think she will go on to write a different book completely, you can only write so much about Harry Potter before your brain explodes.
HPfan#1
Exactly The Last Horcrux is right like what i said before she can't spend the rest of her life writing Harry Potter books but it would be good if she wrote books similar in the magical world and occasionaly bring out the extra books, like Quidditch Through the Ages. And yes The Last Horcrux i think it would be good if JKR brought out a book following Lord Voldemort and his thoughts and feeling.
mjane95
Yeah, a book from LV's point of view would be very interesting. As others before me Jo can't write HP forever. It would destroy her. LV point of view hmmm. It would be interesting for us to see his evil plots. Good thought The Last Horcrux! biggrin.gif

I don't think there will be any more books in the series. 7 is too significant a number. I have a rumor that she may do like an encyclopedia of all the characters and gives us some of their background information. I want more books just as the nect person but i think i can manage with 7.
Dementika
I am hoping that she will write more than seven books but also i seriously doubt that... She had wrote about Harry and thinked about him for ages and i think she wants to see how other books will react to the public. Just think if she will write a book (or more) that we will enjoy as much as Harry Potter? She is a good writer...i think all of what she will write after Harry will claime respect and admiracy.
X-Girl
I read somewhere (can't remember where) she was writing or was going to write a completely different book for younger kids not about HP.
I would like to read more of those school books. Hogwarts, A History would be good. laugh.gif
If I were J.K. I'd write more books in the Hogwarts world about new characters. MAybe the trios kids like mjane95 said.

I'm pretty sure she's said she's simply including an epilogue chapter at the end of book 7, instead of a whole book. She says she's done wth HP after book 7. Maybe she will write more textbooks, though... I'd sure love to see a Standard Book of Spells!

Personally, I think the most JKR will do is write a book to wrap up the plot, like a supplement to book 7. Other than that I think the series will be finished at book seven. She will most likely go on to write another series, but it probably will never be as successful as Harry Potter. tongue.gif
El Barto
I think she mentioned if she were to write another book it would be about the history of Hogwarts. What would interest me the most, like what you guys said, is a sort of biography on Voldemort or Dumbledore. It would tie up loose ends (if there are anymore by the end of book 7), among other things.
mjane95
Yeah a school book would be very good. I know she said she would add an epilouge at the end but I was just thinking out loud. So bring on the History of Hogwarts!! tongue.gif
hp_book_reader
Sadly i don't think there will be anymore! because 1. jo said that the 7th book is the last one (not including the Hoqwarts encycledia, she may do) 2. i highly doubt that jo would let another person write about hoqwarts or any of her spells
*LoonyLunnaLovegood*
Has anybody read the tale of Dexpurux(sorry if i spell it wrong)? Remember how they did what the auther callled 'books'? I think in a book 8 of harry potter it would be cool to have a short story of almost every person's life in harry potter. It would also be cool if JkR did a book almost like a harry potter dictnaryIt would explain peoples backreounds, why spells where created and that sort of thing. Any one agree?

~*LoonyLunnaLovegood*
hermione/emmafan
i like that idea. it would be like ending everyones story involved with the whole thing.
DracosLady
I think that it would be really great if she were to write a huge book about all of the charactors (surviving ones that is) their adult lives and what they have done since graduating from hogwarts/taking down Voldy for example. It would be intersting to read about the lives of the HP charactors as adults, and see what they have accomplished and who has married whom and so forth it's just a thought but I think it would make for a good book.
rictumsempra
just a thaught, but why does book 7 have to be just 1 book. it could come in 2 parts as i can hardly see how the whole story can end so quickly when there are 3,4,5ish horcruxes (cant remember how many exactly) to find and desrtoy.

but i think the idea that both HP and LV die is quite plausable but then again as said earlyer JK could write an ending which could play on our imagination and leave us with the possibility that there could be another book.

xx

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that JKR has said that book 6 and 7 were a sort of part one and part two of the end story. I'll have to check on that. Also, there are 7 horcruxes.

I have psted this before, but JKR also said that after book 7 there would be no 8th book, the story would end there. She did however state that she wouldn't count out producing a book for charity that might contain all the bits that were edited from the original publications. Now that's a book that I'd love to get a hold of!
Years of exile
ahhhh i see. fair enough.

eitherway i reckon is gonna be 1 hell of a read.

p.s. i have changed my account from rictumsempra to this one jus to let ppl know
Lina

no.. they are only seven books..

no way more than that... coz jk rowling said that only 7 no more.
CornishPixie
I personally wouldn't want an 8th book that answered all my questions and explained everything. I don't know if all my questions ever could be answered and I would rather just daydream and speculate and imagine. Rowling has given us a huge glimpse into this world - it's up to our imaginations where it goes after the last book comes out.
Harragon
I think that there will be an eigth, and i also think that Jo will write another seven. A bout the Marauders, or maybe Tom Riddle.
sw33t_Evanna
Uh, I wish this were true. But I'm sure there won't be any chance of another book. It is a good idea of writing the life of the other surviving characters. Or another related book like those Magical Beasts and about Quidditch.
My ideas are:-
1, A story of Harry before his birth and till he was eleven

2, A story of Tom Riddle's complete life

3, A story on Dumbledore's life.

4, A story on the Marauders and their whole time at Hogwarts.

5, A story on Snape.

6, A story of Hogwarts and it's founders

7, A story on the formation of Order of the Phoenix

The story on Dumbledore's and Voldemort's life will reveal many secrets that have not, until now, been revealed. But i think we'll never have the same fun we have with HP!!!
Kelso2010
I would like it if she wrote about how Harry's Parents met. Like from there first year on (all of this in one book not 7) I think it would be interesting because we can read fanfics about how we think Lily, James, and the maurader's lives went but if she wrote about it then we'd all know for sure. That may sound weird but I think it would be interesting but I also think Books about Hogwart's history would be really cool because I love reading about history anyway!!! But I doubt after she finishes the 7th book she'll write very many or mabey even no books about H.P. or the magical world or Hogwarts ect.!!!! And that's very very disapointing!!!!

mimbulus_mimbletonia
Unlikely as it is I would love to read more stories from the happier times at Hogwarts. As long as JK has been writing these I'm sure she is having more of a separation anxiety than I am about this being the last book, but I'm pretty sad about it.
It would be neat to read about some other HP/HG/RW adventures at Hogwarts before the full return of LV.
Varkatza
i would hate it if she stops writing, but i think thats how itll be. hopefully at the end of harry potter 7 theyll be an epilogue or something, but then again thats not likely as she didnt write a prologue at the start of philosophers stone, but maybe if she had it would hav given away the whole series, and we wouldnt learn things like harry did. i think itd b pretrty cool if she started writing other books, completly different to harry, but something else, just another book of somesort if she doesnt continue with harry, or anything of the wizarding world.
chrisisgameboy92
I hope there is an 8th book that shows what happens after harry defeats LV maybe become minister of magic and have a bunch of kids (with ginny maybe?)
Moon(I luv you Luna)
I don't know. I wouldn't mind a eight book, i'm writing a fanfic about Harry's daughter at Hogwarts, and it's quite fun to write, but maybe it'll be the new fandom?

Lol, i guess it depends on what happens in DH. If there's nothing explained about harry's life after Hogwarts, i'll want one. but JKR has said that the last chapter in a epiloge sort of, explaining what happened to the chracters who surrvive, I hope Harry's included. happy.gif
voldemort_rocks12
no there won't be an eighth book because JKR has clearly staded that she is finished with the HP books ofter the seventh. also thats what an epilog is for
fish06
I remember seeing on tv that she already made the last chapter. Sorry I do not no the station or date. Anyway, she explained how the last chapter explains what the surviving characters did after Hogwarts. So I do not think there will be an eighth book.
Aniiuum
I don't think so mellow.gif but it'd be great. Probably it'll talk about the path of Harry (if he stays alive, which in my personal opinion, I don't think that could happen), and Hermione&Ron's new life as a married couple hahaha omg i want to see those two guys together!! wub.gif

Jo said that she only do 7 books, and sadly, eeek.gif this last book is the last of the seven waa!! hahaha

Love

Moon(I luv you Luna)
Yeah Aniiuum, i agree. Ron and Hermione's life as a couple-ha! I can see it now! lol.

But really, i don't think she will. It's like what i said-it depends on what happens in DH.

Plus it all depends on if Harry surrvives or not! I hope so ...
Madmoiselle Lilly
As much as I would love for there to be an eigth book, I have my doubts. I don't think that JKR would do that because really, what would be there to discuss. I agree with you, Moon, with the whole "it depends on what happens in DH". If either Harry or Voldy dies in DH which I think kind of has to happen, then there's not going to be anything else to write about.
samsmom
JKR has said that she will not be writing another book about the Trio, however she said in an interview that she may write another Hogwarts book, as a fundraiser like the school books, and make it something like "Hogwarts a History."
sullivanbkeene
I am betting that there will be a published version of Hogwarts A History, for one simple reason: A writer writes, always. Even if JKR doesn't ever write another full-length novel or series again, I can't imagine that she will be able to walk away from the craft of writing altogether. She's young, after all.

That having been said, I suspect that with her considerable wealth, she will never feel compelled to take on such a huge project like a 7-part series again. Let's hope that she does a real bang up job in DH, because it may very well be the highlight of her career.
Albus Dumbledore
Perhaps she was joking, but I honestly thought she sort of agreed to write a book about Dumbledore when asked. Perhaps I am wrong but you can imagine how much I support such an idea! A whole book about Dumbledore!!! gah!! Perhaps the before the series and in the series from his perspective!! I hope!

Anyway, besides charity "school books", I do not think that there will be anymore "Harry Potter" books.

Lily/JamesForever
It is sad, no 8th book! There will be a lot of explaining to do though wacko.gif
SiriusB1214
I think she has already written (and published) 4 or 5 other books under other names. Books about regular people of slightly more than usual courage, doing slightly heroic things in more nearly realistic English Public Schools. No magic.

I'd give you names of characters and "authors," but I've forgotten them. Sorry.
shanshan
I know that we all want more Harry Potter books, but from JK I highly doubt that will happen. She has spent the last what like 10 years writng them, would you really want to sit and spend ten more? I have also read that she was writing a completley different kind of book, for younger kids, so we will see how that goes. As for Harry, I think all we have is our fanfics.
zonkos_employee
Even though there will not be an 8th HP book, we still will find stuff out in later interviews with JK because I'm pretty sure that there will be lots of questions floating around in my head after I read the DH.
Hermione__<3
As samsmom said about a possible fundrasing book i also saw in an interview that she may write book 8 for charity.
Not sure if true because this interview had been typed (it could have been edited)
Anyone know anything else about that?
wacko.gif
*marauder marine*
I'm almost 100% sure that JKR said that she may write another Harry book, but something like Fantastic Beasts as opposed to a novel.. and that it would include histories of those characters she did not get chance to go into detail about within the series. I don't think she'll be able to resist, if the idea's already in her head smile.gif
Krissy15
I think a non-biased encyclopedia would be good. Then we would also have point of view taken out. I think she said she might (big might) write an encyclopedia but she isn't sure yet.

But, she said that there are still going to be a lot of things to debate about after book 7. So that means there will probably be open ended things left unanswered. . .
justin
i hope she doesnt right another book

if she does ill read it

ill be sad because it will kill the series and will seem like shes just trying to make more money off of the harry potter series
62442al_Man
Of course, who doesn't want more books about the wizarding world!? I'd like some on the Marauders' lives myself, but anything'll do. Though I don't think more books will come out, I do know she will continue writing. And I hear she will be writing children's books. Heck, I know I'll probably buy them then scan them vigorously trying to look for clues to a Book 8 or something laugh.gif
TheGoodGirl
I know everyone wants more HP books but I think that sometimes you can have to much of a good thing...don't get me wrong I LOVE! HP as much as the next person. cool.gif
but....look at it like this....it's said that DaVinci never finished the "Mona Lisa" but if he had would it be as famous as it is today?...if there were more of the "Mona Lisa" would people love it just as much? mellow.gif
if HP books come out every time we turn around, I think sooner or later people will start "falling out of love with the books".

If JK dose write anything else it should be something new for people to love just as much as HP.
