DarthVoldemort
I was just re-watching P/SS on DVD and I realized there are many lines/things that me and my friends made fun of that I forgot about, like:

"Your parents fought against im', but nobody lived once he decided to kill em'" Upon first hearing this, I thought "Well, actually many people lived once Voldemort decided to kill Lily and James" because that's what it sounds like he's implying.

"Your the boy who lived" Well, I realize the meaning behind it, but it's just fun to say "well, he's not the only boy to live" But, I know it's retarded.

"I was the only one to see her for what she was... A FREAK!" Petunia says it like she's saying a really bad curse word. But it's only freak.

"People will think you're....up to something" I just love saying "Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!" after quoting this line.

Me and my friend have made a whole really stupid parody of HP 1-3, it's really retarded unless you have the right kind of humor.

Anybody else have these kind of lines?

haha I love that line, I laugh everytime...Snape has a lot of those random lines in the first movie. Like when they are in the great hall eating breakfast or something and he makes the comment about the quidditch game and ends with "...even if it is against...Syltherin" then he makes the weirdest look like "what am i talking abou?" then walks away.

And in the second movie I especially like the part where harry's says "You're bird, there was nothing i could do...it just...it just caught fire!" haha thats another ones of those lines that im not sure if it's suppose to be funny, but it certainly is smile.gif
NickHilton
I don't get the first quote you put forth, but i can see the vague humour in the others, but to be honest Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuaron didn't focus half as much on the funny side of the books, as Mike Newell did.
HP#1_wee_lil'
Alan Rickman makes a very good Snape and when he comes out with lines like..

'People will think your...up to something.' and

'Even if it is against...Slytherin'

He seems so evil!! He is very good.

As for the other lines you thought up DarthVoldemort I never actually noticed that before. Very good. (I say that a lot don't I)

I don't get the first quote you put forth,

What I tried to explain was that when he says "But nobody lived once he decided to kill em'" He says it like he means that everyone in the world died when Voldemort decided to kill Lily and James. Does that make any more sense?
Bumblebee
"But nobody lived once he decided to kill em'"

Hagrid isn't best known for his grammar, but there is no need for confusion. He meant to say was "whoever Voldemort wants to kill, dies, once Voldemort decides to kill them." This held true till the moment Voldemort failed to kill baby Harry Potter.

Yeah, I know what he means by it, the line at first just sounds a little off-putting

ooh! do u have a link for them? i recently read PoA in 15 mins and it was hilarious. i love to rip off the movies! the books are so muc better, i like to laugh at the attempts to make them into movies

saying this, i must admit that i know each movie word for word. *hangs head* the shame..

lol, those lines are good, i know what you mean.
Triad
One line that got me the first time I read it were when Fred and George burst into Ron and Harry's dorm room and start talking about the jumpers Mrs Weasley knitted for them. I was reading this part at like 3 in the morning so it's understandable that I thought the way I did.

'You haven't got a letter on yours,' George observed. 'I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid - we know we're called Gred and Forge.'

I read that thinking - aren't they called Fred and George. It didn't hit me til a little after that they were being stupid.

Another fav few lines of mine - Chamber of Secrets - Gilderoy Lockhart chapter.

'I must ask you not to scream,' said Lockhart in a low voice. 'It might provoke them.'
As the whole class held it's breath, Lockhart whipped of the cover.
'Yes, ' he said dramatically. 'Freshly caught Cornish pixies.'

That one killed me. Gotta love his way of making things seem better then they really are.

Well, we didn't really type them up, we just came up with crap as we watched the movie. It also had to do with people we know.

I love the line when Patunia goes ' I was the only one to see her for what she really was a FREAK..and then she went and got herself bolwn up.' The way she said it made me laugh so hard!

Hah, I'm surprised no one mentioned this one--well, maybe someone did but I didn't see it.

When Harry goes to see Dumbledore in Chamber of Secrets, and he sees Fawkes for the first time, but then Fawkes bursts into flames.

"Professor! Your bird! It just...caught fire!"

Or something like that. It's so funny when you watch it, because harry has no idea what to think, it's funny when you realize that Harry thinks Fawkes just sort of...caught on fire and died.

I think in the Poa (movie) that it's so funny when Lupin has first turned into a werewolf and he's about to attack Hermione,Ron and Harry and Ron's like: "Nice doggie, nice doggie, nice doggie" That made me laugh. laugh.gif I also like the Lokhart (Sp?) scene the Cos movie.
Auror2009
Hmm lines easy to make fun of OH anything snapes says you can make fun of at least for me anyways because he always seems to stop like 4 words near the end of the sentence pause then drag out the last few words so there is usually something funny to depict from that.
#tigerlily#
nearly everything that gilderoy lockhard is saying in the CoS movie is completely stupid...
i always had to laugh hearing him speak about his bold and brave actions.
...bloody liar...
and during harrys detention ( helping lockhard with his fanmail ) he said something like, amazing how the time passes when you´re having fun... happy.gif
Aguamenti353
I really love the part in PoA (movie) When Hermione's looking at Ron's leg....

Hermione: Ouch, that looks really painful.

Ron: Sorta painful. They uh, they might chop it.

Hermione: I'm sure Madam Pomfrey can fix it in a second.

Ron: No. It's too late. It's ruined. It'll have to be chopped off.

lol I just love that line he's trying to act all heroic and brave and stuff for Hermione lol wub.gif
Spencer Potter
Padma: "Is that.. is that.. Hermione Granger.. with, with.. Viktor Krum?!"

Ron: "No, absolutely not."

Haha, I always thought that was funny. cool.gif

Harry: "Did either if you, er, pass out?"

Ron: "No... but I felt weird though, Like id never be cheerful again."

Kind of funny, he was actually stating the truth and it got me laughing.

DracosLady
In the CoS when Harry asks Percy if he has seen Ron or Hermione, Percy's response is
"No I have'nt, I hope that Ron is not in another girls toilet" Ok first of all why would Ron be in anyone's toilet? That one is too funny.

Or also in CoS when they are in Dueling Club with Lochart and Snape and Lockhart says:
"Whoops my wand is a little over excited!' Ok how can a wand have any emotions at all?
Thats all I could think of for now, if I think of any more I will post them tongue.gif
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Oh my ogd, i was watching PS with my sister and two of my friends, and everything was fine until we got to the bit when Harry, Ron and Hermione go to Hagrid's hut at night and go at the same time:

"We know about the Pholosophers (Sp?) stone!"

Then one of my friends go:

"You, know too much of a cowincidence for ALL of them to say that at the same time." and we asked her what she thought should happen, and she told me and my other friend to say "We know about the pholosophers stone" at the same time. So we did and it sounded a bit like this:

"We know about the Pholosophers-"

"I'm a sausage!"

She pratically screamed it and we burst out laughing. All the way since then, to the end of the movie, we were thinking of other random things that one of them could say. Now whenever we are watching that, one of us always ends up shouting "I'm a sausage!"

Not meant to be funny, and was totaly lame, but all well. laugh.gif

Another line is-well, it's not so much a line, but an action. In PS when Ron and Harry run into the bathroom to save Hermione from the troll, someone says it was brave at one point i think, and everytime, i silently think:

"I reakon if they are brave enough to go into a girls bathroom, sure they're brave enough to take on a troll!"

Kind of stupid, but all well!

Also, pratically anything Lockheart says can be made fun of! happy.gif
X-Girl
Lockhart was sooo funny. Every time he opens his mouth I start cracking up.
Then the cake Hagrid made for Harry, Happy and Birthday are spelled wrong. laugh.gif
SnakeCharmer74
I can't believe no on mentioned the part with Professor's Moody and McGonagall in GoF!

The scene where Professor Moody changes Draco into a ferret and Professor McGonagall comes running up yelling at him.

"Alastor! We do not use transfiguration as a punishment! Surely Dumbledore told you that!"

"He might have mentioned it."

"Well you'll do well to remember it!"

and then he makes a face at her turned back. Everytime I watch that I giggle!

And when Remus is chewing Harry in PoA out for sneaking around with the map. I know it's not funny, but it is. This is probably the first time in his life he has been chewed out parentally (I know it's not a word so bear with me) for doing something wrong and he knew it. I just chuckle whenever that happen.
Nawal
In the fourth movie when Ron says 'Oi Hermione, you're a girl'
and then the way she says 'Very well spotted',I don't know how but whenever I look at her face saying that I start laughing. It's probably because she was really surprised at the same time confused at this question. laugh.gif .It's really funny when Harry is trying to stop Ron to ask this question,as if he knew what was going to happen.

And when Moody was punishing Draco and McGonagall came and said:'Proffesor...what..what..are you doing?
Moody:'teaching'
Mcgonagall:'Is that...is that.. a student?'
McGonagall:'Proffesor we never use transfiguration as a punishement!Surely Dumbledore told you that?'
Moody:'He might have mentioned it'
And when McGonagall leaves and Moody sticks out his tongue behind her back, that was hilarious laugh.gif
amortentia_lover
I love in the fourth film when Crouch goes - "if you show me yours, i'll show you mine." that is such a funny line - i know its about his arm but if you ever watch Casanova with David Tennant in ( Crouch ) he says the exact same line. And he certainly wasn't talking about his arm!
.X.
lp_supastar
i always laugh at this one from PoA:

Ron was staring at Pettigrew with the utmost revulsion.
"I let you sleep in my bed!" he said.

i know he was talking about pettigrew while he was a rat but it just sound so...wrong tongue.gif haha

Amyrat151
A lot of lines people have mentioned are suppose to be funny...like Hermione and Ron with his hurt leg, Lockhart's lines, and Moody's too.
But I do have some unintentional ones. Cedric's "It's not a bad place for a bath." Haha, slash can be so funny. And I was reading OotP one day, I sort of drifted off into thought when I was reading it, and I looked back at the book to read again and said something like "Harry was on all fours again in Snape's office." I don't think I need to go into that any further.
Also last year when I was in my Advanced Comp class, we read the Great Gatsby, and my teacher Mr Michaud..you pronouce it like Me-Shaw, who's a self proclaimed nerd, refered to the character in the Great Gatsby Myrtle as "Moaning Myrtle" on accident, which is funny if you've read the book.
mousehill7
Now, I know this line in PoA is not supposed to be funny at all, it is dead serious. But, every time I hear it, I laugh out loud. It is when Harry is telling Hermoine and Ron about Sirius being his godfather. He says, "He was their friend and he betrayed him. HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!" I laugh when he screams he was their friend. I don't know why, but I just find the way Dan says that line very funny.
Ginny_Hermione
Ok, I was sick today, so I was laying in bed, acting all lazy while watching Harry Potter 3. The thing I thought was funny, is when Harry and Hermione first went back in time, and they saw themselves, for the first time. I am not sure if it's meant to be funny, but I aways laugh by the way Dan says "This is not normal!" I love the way he says it!! smile.gif If I think of more, I'll post!

Peace,
Ginny happy.gif

I cant think of any unintentional funny lines because most of them have been said. I do love the one where Gilderoy Lockhart is talking about cornish pixies in a terrified sort of tone. I think the books are chock full of funny lines that could have been great on screen though.
62442al_Man
"I love Magic" by Dan is classic laugh.gif. Harry in the books would...never...say that. And if he did, I'd have to drown myself. SO corny rolleyes.gif
fany_monkey
i can't believe you guys haven't mentioned neville's line in the GoF
"oh my god, i've killed harry potter!" i thought that line was sooo funny!

oh and when harry is talking to sirius also in the GoF
"he wanted me" i don't know why but i always laugh it just sound gross lol

oh and ron's
"well yeah a bit" is also super funny lol i love GoF
hedwig_321
I love all the times when ron goes,''Bloody Hell!''It so funny.I also like the bit where ron it CoS says''urgh.Essence of crabbe.''I generally like Ron quotes.I like the bit when in PoA ron says to hermione,
R: ''Call that a cat?looks like a pig with hair if you ask me!''
H: thats rich, compared to that smelly old tooth brush!
and then another one in the next scene,
H:you no the egyptians used to worship cats.
R:yea,along with a dung beetle!

i love bits where they fight!ITs so cute! wub.gif

I thought that when Snape kind of hissed to Harry:"Don't lie to me" it was funny
And I don't think that was intentional...
I think that was supposed to be tense but he just...spit it out...and I really mean spit happy.gif
I loved it when my friends did impressions of that line haha...
one of them was like...don't...*pause* lie...*pause*tome
lol

I was watching POA last night and I thought of this thread and kept alert for unintenionally funny lines. It was late mind you, so it might not be funny to you, but it was certainly funny to me.

Right after Harry and Hermione get thrown into the womping willow and Hermione lands on harry, they both get up and in the dialogue, Harry says, "I have a hunch."

I just imagined Harry Potter meets the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

My favorite line out of all the movies(it's also one of my favorite quotes out of the books) is from Prisoner of Azkaban, when Harry is talking to Aunt Marge....

"Do they use a stick at St. Brutus' boy?"
"Oh, oh yea, I get beaten loads of times!"

my friend's don't find it funny at all but I do.
HPfan#1
I like it when Ron says "Bloody Hell" all the time and when he says, "That was bloody brilliant!" to Professor McGonagall in Philosopher's Stone laugh.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif !!

You all do realize that this topic is unintentionally funny lines.
So they were not meant to be funny. I'm getting a feeling you're all not getting that.
Sorry happy.gif

NICE DOGGY laugh.gif
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Hmm, unintentional funny lines...I know there are alot that I find funny that no one else does but it's hard to remember them! In PoA when Harry and Hermione are trying to take Buckbeak away before the ministry guys come out, Dumbledore is seemingly trying to stall and takes there attention away by saying 'And all the strawberries!' and kind of points at nothing, really don't know why but I found it hilarious.

Then theres when Hermione says 'Use your inner eye to see the future!' then laughs, Harry and Ron are just like ok then...

Oh and when the coloured dude pops up twice also in PoA (Yes this is the movie I know best) he says something about the grim in trelawneys class and then says something about Black, I just sit there and think who are you?

Also Hermione's 'We attacked a teacher!' Scandalised look on her face, not sure if that's supposed to be funny or not.

Just thought of one from GoF, in Moodys class - 'I'm here because Dumbledore sent me, goodbye the end.' That's probably a completely wrong quote but I'm sure you guys know what I mean. Just the way he says it makes me laugh! And whats with the whole 'Goodbye, the end' laugh.gif

Anyway that's all I can think of from the top of my head, next time I watch HP I'll look out for some wink.gif
*phoenixcore*
I have another one biggrin.gif

There is a line that the same guy that Miss Minerva Mcgonagall brought up says when they are discussing Black.

He says, "Black is everywhere." and I was thinking, "Yeah, just like you popping up out of nowhere."

If you don't get it...grrr

Guys, the ULTIMATE unintentionally funny quote is:

Snape: What are you doing Potter? Strutting around the halls at this hour .. just like your Father ..."

"My Dad didn't STRUT, and nor do I"

It was just so random lol. And the image of James Potter doing a full on BeeGee's strut around Hogwart's is quite funny lol.
zonkos_employee
Okay like in the Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry is invisible and he sneaks up to the shreiking shack and then after he scares Draco and his crew away he plays with Ron's hat and Hermione's hair and then Hermione goes "Harry!" in the weirdest voice I laugh every time i watch it. And then me and my brothers make up an extra line to it we go Harry... Stinky! And then we made Harry saying "Hermione what have I told you about calling me stin-ky?!?!?" It might sound really dumb but maybe it's the voice my brothers use but I think it's exceptionally funny.
Ygraine
Hehehe...

Everytime I go see a Harry Potter film i nearly get chucked out. I love to laugh at them. tongue.gif

In PS/SS it was Voldemort. his voice it was just... i know he's meant to be speaking through someone elses head (which i also found amusing) but there was no reason for him to sound constipated, or that he was passing kidney stones. laugh.gif

in CoS, it was Harry to Lucius Malfoy 'Voldemort killed my parents, he was nothing more than a murderer.' That made me laugh so much, me and my firends just laughed for about ten minutes afterwards gigglilng away, parents shooting daggers at us.

In PoA, it was (i think some one already mentioned this) -not direct quote from the film, from memory wink.gif -'He was there friend! I hope he finds me because when he does i'll be ready, when he finds me i'll kill him'

very little restraint was shown here, i just said 'Grr! Argh!!' In the cinema. (People behing me giggled too, so others must have been thinking of it)

in GoF; This is the one i actually fell off my seat. Barty Crouch Junior. 'Hello father!' *slurp* Or was it *Slurp* 'hello father' Oh who cares? tongue.gif I slipped off the seat and burst out laughing. Luckily i was in the late show so not many people were there but... I still laugh whenever i even think about it! 'Hello father!' It just...

Oh man, i'm in hysterics again! laugh.gif

Oh my goodness YES! I was cracking up here too but the best part was when Barty Crouch Sr. said "You are no son of mine" and Jr. goes "GAAAHHHHHHHHH!" then he starts making a bunch of weird faces. I thinkthere was three in total. Kind of like this - ohmy.gif tongue.gif huh.gif

I also love in movie 3 when Aunt Marge just came over and she says "Ah, you're still here are you?" and Dan says "Yeees" . He says it so funny I have to play that part over and over again. He kind of glances at his left a bit while he says it too. Am I just weird for thinking that's sooo funny? rolleyes.gif

Haha, i find that line funny as well!

For some reason, i find it also funny in the Sorcerors Stone when the trio meets Snape in the hall and Snape says like. . ."Someone will think you are. . . . . . . . . . . . .up. . . to something. . ."

It is just so funny and i don't know why! I always like, die laughing whenever i hear him say it! I have no idea why because i know it isn't supposed to be funny. . .but i always laugh so much! Snape is just. . .yeah. . .haha.
Lavender-*lurves*-WonWon
in cos ,one of the parts that i foud unintentionally funny was when hermione granger said ="I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed, or worse expelled and ron replying that she needs to sort out her priorities.

lol tongue.gif
Triad
That's actually in PS/SS when they get back from their run-in with Fluffy. Not in COS, so I think you have your movies mixed up. It is a funny line though, well Rons line anyway. But ti's a typical Hermione thing isn't it? Funny how she changed her tune during the next lot of books and movies.
After the Burial
I thought one of the funniest unintentional parts of the movies was right after Harry falls off his broomstick in PoA. They have the girl who doesn't speak and just stands there. She looks so bored that it is funny. You can tell that she isn't even trying to act anymore.
Kam
I think that the part in SS when (i think anyway) harry is under the invisiblity cloak and Filch is there and i dont remember what they are talking about but Filch says "mark my words" in that weird voice. I imitated it and i sounded just like him and my friend and i burst out laughing. she still asks me to say that line all over again.

and in OOTp book when umbridge is interviewing snape or whatever abserving him, and they are talking about snape being refused the DADA job nd she says "Do you have any idea why Dumbledore has consistently refused to appoint you? " and then snape says "i suggest you ask him" then umbridge "oh i shall" i dont know why but i thought tht was funny

then in Ootp when ron asks harry how his kiss was he said "wet" or sumthing like that it made me laugh.
i know that i'll think of more but those are the ones that i think of riight off the top of my head.
