If you haven't already caught up to it or have poked your head in, Razz's fanfic, Harry's Last Task, is awesome. I'd put money on it to be one of the best fanfics on the internet that have to do with HP. She is fantastic at what she does as well and I recommend this one too.

The last one that I have been trying to catch up on is Ghost's fanfic, The Adult Harry. Ghost does an amazing job as well. I haven't been able to get fully caught up yet but I am a fan nonetheless.

Those are the main ones that I read. There are many tallented writers here on VTM and I wish you all the best on your fanfics and keep them coming.

I read most of the fics on here and they are all pretty great. My two favourites though, are the adult harry by ghost and harry potter and the darkness lies ahead by miss minerva mcgonagall. All of the fics are awesome though.

I think one of the best is Fear in Itself by pensievethought. I love the fic so much! It is so well done and descriptive. I love that fic! There are some other great ones I've read, but there are just too many to count. I also have to say anything by GinnyWinter is good. She is a great writer!

Well, my all-time favorite fanfic is "The Adult Harry" by Ghost. It is so realistic. Not one of the characters are out of character even in the slightest way. yep, that is a lot of fictions... guess what happens when all of them post at the same time? yeah... i get cornored and i end up being unable to post in my own fiction because i'm so busy reading theirs... sometimes i dont find time to reply in theirs either... and i really dont feel happy when that happens.

I definitely recommend razz's fic, Harry's Last Task. It's so well-written it's astounding. I can tell she's worked hard on it.

Also David Beaton's fanfic (He goes by Dangermouse now, I believe) The Battle for Hogwarts, is very good.

Hey....I have been here for ages, but prefer to read and watch rather than actually review.

I have to say, one fic which has brought me out of my little hole is "The Truth's Misgivings" by thesolitaryone.

It is an absolute must-read. It is so intriguing and the plot-line is so orignial. Though it is not directly about the trio, Harry plays a major part in it. It has more to do with another girl with immense power she can't control. Dumbledore returns in it, which is why I reeeaaally like it. If you were to read one fic a year, or a week, get into this one before its too late!

Trust me, you'll love it!

I like quite alot of the ones i read on here. But my favourite has got to be Harry Potter and the darkness that lies ahead by Miss Minerva Mgonagall. It's got dark/action chapters,comedy and lots of R/Hr and H/G in there too!

I highly recommend "Winter Sun" by Aethonon. It's a Draco romance fic, with a lot of action and suspense...Darcy's a brilliant writer, and I love her fics.

I also want to alert you to "Parvati Through the Ages" by Caoo...it's very well written, and it's about Parvati's first year at Hogwarts, with a bit of suspenseful romance on the side.

Hey mates . . . My favorite fic on veritaserum is Harry Potter and the Ring of Brilliance by verilladaine. I think it has a lot of interesting ideas. I wish she were on more.

I read alot of them! But, my favourite is definately the adult harry by ghost. I absolutely love it! Plus the updates are never that far apart, ghost does an amazing job.

Then theres Past's forgotten mysteries by ginevra potter. and i also like ginny and harry 4evers fic, i dont remember what its called now but check it out!

They are all book seven fics but if you read them you will not be disappointed.

I'd also happily recommend anything by Just the Droobles, Prodfoot, padfootchick14, Ygraine, Flutterflie, and Ginevra Potter. I'm sure there are many more wonderful fics out there, I wish I had more time and was better able to keep track! Seems I can only keep about three fics straight at a time. So unfair! But I've never been a good multi-tasker...*sigh* It certainly isn't because I don't want to read them!

Ok, so I'm aware that this thread says "only the ongoing ones," but I tried to open a thread for all recommendations and it got shut down... so I'm going to post my thoughts on the completed ones in here, too.

I have been reading one called Volition, because it got such rave reviews, but it's still in progress and driving me absolutely crazy. It's SS/HG. It is pretty mature, lots of violence, some smuttiness, but well written. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7.

There's a completed story called Call It What You Will. It was absolutely wonderful (again, very smutty) as a story in general, but Snape becomes very un-canon throughout the story. As in, he smiles, jokes, etc. Simply not Snape. Very racy so beware. I'd give it a 6.

There's also a good one on here called Dream A Little Dream . Brilliant story. SS/HG. By far one of my favorites. It is very well written and has a lovely ending. I'd give it a 9. Definitely worth your time. Snapelover is a brilliant writer. In fact, she has a currently ongoing fic called Trust In Me that I'm madly addicted to. That one is going to end up being a 10. It's another SS/HG one, and it's very dark .

My absolute favorite SS/HG fic is Further Education. It's not just a love story. In fact, it's far from it. There's another war after LV's downfall. Most of the main characters are in the story at some point or another, but the main focus always shifts back to Hermione and Snape. An absolutely and utterly brilliant read. Masterfully written. It's complete, but, just a warning: it's very long. Just under 200,000 words. Definitely worth the read, though, especially if you SHIP SS/HG and like a canon Snape and Hermione. Scale of 1-10 it gets a 100,000,000.

Ok, stepping away from the SS/HG fics for a moment, our very own mod Michelle Dessler has a lovely fic going about Sirius, and Snape, and Lupin... and well, lots of people. It's called The Everlasting Day. It's wonderful but she is for keeping us in suspense between posts, because we know she has it finished! Still in progress so expect frustration . Definitely a 9 so far... maybe I'll up it one if she posts another chapter? (hint, hint )

ive only read a handful of fics, but the one that i like most is easily Harry's Last Task by Razzberry2, it goes all through book 7 and is very true to canon. also she has a very funny bits in a rather suspensful fic,

another fic id like to recomend is To the Dark Lord by El Barto, its a trilogy about RAB, its very well written.

Ok, I'm going to shamelessly self-promote my own fic here...

I'm sorry, guys, but I had to do it. I have been putting in long hours on it, and I would really genuinely love to hear what everyone thinks. It's called In Times of War, and it's and HbP compliant fic, based about a year after the death of Dumbledore, and it is mostly centered around Severus and Hermione. It's going to end up being quite long in the end, but I'm slowly working my way towards that moment.

Okay you talented writers you, I need to make a quick post in here to remind you that this thread is for people to pimp others work - not your own.

It kinda defeats the purpose of it otherwise. So please - however frustrating it may seem at times, do not list your own work here - maybe recriut on of your more enthusiastic readers to comment about your fic. Then it is within the guidlines, and has a lot more cred than pimping your own work.

That being said - keep those creative lines pulsing onto the page!!!

Well I've decided I should share what I believe are brilliantly writen on-going works here. There are so many but my three favourite would have to be:

In Times of War by Lily Potter! It is brilliantly writen SS/HG fic and makes you feel so many emotions while reading it.

Love...Hate...What's the Difference by drhpluvr4l! I love how it is writen with suspence and cliffhangers as well as quite strong emotions.

A Dark Ascension by corijp! I am lucky enough to beta this fic and I believe it is well writen making you continusouly asking questions about what might happen next.

All of these fics are worth a read because it is only your loss not reading them.

Ok, two new ones for you guys...

Both of these writers owled me personally to ask me to read them, and I am so lucky that they did!

The first one is Starting Over by amanda1212, a new writer. It is a H/G, R/Hr fic, and is just now unfolding. It's only a few chapters long, but is progressing nicely. If you like H/G, you will like this story. It is well written and full of emotions.

The second one is D.I.M.W.I.T. by Long Live the Weasel King!, and this is a total and complete comedy. It is really, really funny. It is definitely about the Harry Potter universe, but is solely OC so far. Normally, I don't go for OC, but this one is quite intriguing. He is very detailed with his descriptions and his jokes are side-splitting. You would do well to read this if you need a little comic relief. He did a wonderful job with this.

Albus Dumbledore's "Dumbledore's Pensieve" is also a great fanfic. What Tom does (Tom being the author) is in every edition he adds a story about Dumbledore's life we haven't heard much about, such as Grindelwald's backstory (how he fought him). You can also, in his feedback section, ask him to write about something you want to hear.

He writes with a lot of description, action, adventure...all that and everything else that make a great fanfic.

I'll second El Barto's recommendation for Albus Dumbledore's fanfic "Dumbledore's pensieve". What makes it so great is that he is covering areas only alluded to in the books, and can actually transport the reader to other places and make them believe that they belong in the HP world.

Plus Tom has many other ideas in the pipeline, and I am personally really looking forward to reading his ideas as to what DD was doing on the night the Potters were murdered, and at the time he destroyed LV's horcrux ring. JKR herself doesn't go into any detail concerning either of these two scenarios, and I would like the gaps to be "filled in". I think that Tom's imagination runs along the same lines as JKR's, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we were to see his work published in future!

well I gues Ill be the third to say that Tom's fic is great, Dumbledore's Pensieve is very well written and interesting to read because its not really anything in particular just more or less a collection of stories that one may find in dumbledores pensieve, so if you get a chance you should read it.

My goodness thank you, I was honestly just about to recommend El Barto's "The Final Lament" while it was still young, and I come to seee this! Thanks again!

Anyway, back to my real purpose, El Barto's new fan fiction, "The Final Lament" is wrought from the theory called Book Reflection. His story uses the significance of Time Travel in book three, to mirror what might happen in Book 7.. as well as the plot line of Book Six.

The use of Time Travel in this story is amazing, allowing us to see certain scenes in a new perspectives... some perspectives even gave me chills. *You know which Im talking about El Barto!* This is a must-read to all those who love an indepth, well written, accurate story. This fanfiction, as many do, blends with the story line almost seemlessly, allowing for one to sometimes forget... and force themselves to say "Hey, dont forget that this really didnt happen.." ... yet anyway!

I have to agree on Dumbledore's Pensieve!! Nice job, Albus!! Now, I have another recommendation. How many of you have read the, Harrys Twin Sister Fic? Well, I would have to say, that this is also an inspiring fanfic! The author does a good job on it. Incidentally, does anyone know what has happened to the author to that fic? He/she hasnt updated, for well over a month now. I was really hoping on a update of that fic, because, it leaves you hanging, right at the most inoppertune moment in it! Need to read more, haha.

Oh how I've missed this thread. I've got quite a bit of recommendations for you, but I'm going to just post my new favorite today:

It's called The Summoning, it's by a wonderful author that goes by variations of the name "Bambu," and it's just brilliant.

If you are a Hermione/Ron shipper, the whole beginning is RW/HG. Personally, I'm a Severus/Hermione shipper, and I love it, because it develops into a SS/HG story.

Now, here is the best part... those of you that have been missing Sirius... he is an integral part to the story! I can't give too much away, but if you love Sirius, Hermione or Severus, you simply must read this. It's the most well written story I have read to date.

You can find the story on LiveJournal here. It will be nearing completion soon, but beware: it's quite lengthy.

I have read quite a bit of the fan-fics here also on fanficton.net But one of my favourites are " Harry Potter and the Ways of the Forgotten". It has a Hermionie/Harry shipper and is getting along quite nicely. The Author to this story is ' magical_number_7 ', and the co-writer is ' Buckbeak/Witherwings17 '.

WOW, I'm amazed that someone auctally recommended mine, thanks. Anyway I'm recommending Two Wrongs Make a Write, by UnmarkedEvil. It is very well written and it has some new exciting characters that keep it very interesting. I am also recommending Harry's Last Task. It is very very long and shows an excellent grasp of the detials of the book and the hunt for horcruxes. razzberry2 has done a very good job on it and it deservs to be read. Anything by Ginerva Pottewr is also worth reading, but I think the best of her work is in the Completed section.

I thought it was about time I posted here. I am reading 4 fics at the moment, and enjoying them a lot!

A Dark Ascension - Cori's great! She's a got a fun OC who's looking like he's channeling someone's spirit ( ) and there's a map and a potion and a mystery! It's great fun to read, and she's doing an excellent job of the characters a few years past book 7! Her world has a wonderfully canon feel to it!

For Whom I'd Steal The Stars - I love this fic! Snape is so cool. He's hard core, but ... sensitive in the right moments, and best of all, his relationships with all the canon characters are very true to his character. One of the best handled post-HBP Snape's I've ever read, because his remorse, pain and anger all sort of collide in a very realistic way. The OC here is brilliant, and it's a scary story! What happens next?!

On Whom The Pale Moon Gleams - By none other than our great admin, Louise. Read it. It's in chapter two, but it's angsty and fun already, and Louise is great with the canon-ness of her characters. And it's got Remus in it!

Our Turn In Time - Darcy's contribution to the SS/HG legacy we have on VTM. It's my favourite ship, and she's definitely doing it justice! Some fun background on Snape, which really colours him in in a new way! Hermione is unlike the Mary Sue many people make her in fics, and the two of them are just so cute together! It's a very fresh approach to time traveling, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds!

I would like to recomend HPGoldSnitches, My Wish fanfiction. It is a one-shot song fiction so if you are looking for a quick read this is an enjoyable peice. It is very well written and the lyrics she used fit perfectly with her story line. It is a letter from Harry to Ginny, if you are a H/G shipper, I highly suggest it. I personally, am a big fanfiction reader but I was never really drawn to song fics but this is a definate must read.

I'd like to throw out my Recommendations.

First off, i second LilyPotter by saying amanda1212's Starting Over is great and defiendtly worth reading!

Second another great fic, about Lily and James, MoogleGirl's Love/Hate Relationship is asmoue (and I can't wait till the next chapter) very well written and a great plot.

Third a new one with a newer author, clara morgue's The Legacy Of Tom Riddle with Voldy apperntice who has amazing powers, (can't wait clara)

She is about 10 chapters in and is feeling a little discouraged about the lack of comments, but I feel her fiction deserves more then what shes getting. She has a very nice and flowy writing style. Her characters are developed very well and she puts a lot of thought into what she writes. Check it out if your looking for a very entertaining read =]

I definitely reccomend We Were Strangers, by Dlicious237. If you like H/D slash, adventure and angst, then you'll love this fic. The detail is absolutely amazing, and it's so enticing you just can't stop reading. There are ten chapters total, but only the first four are posted here. If you read them, and you're still interested in it (which you definitely will be) click here to read the rest. It's amazing and I can guarantee you'll love it.

An amazing fanfic authored by Tallie titled The Birth Of Lonliness!

A gripping, engaging story about Tom Riddle and a young transfer student of French origins named Odette, set in Tom's seventh year at Hogwarts. She has fantastic use of detail.
Please check it out and respond...she doesn't think anyone would but after reading even just two chapters, I promise you, you will be captivated.

I also would like to reccommend 'Starting Over' by amanda1212. You will never read such an amazing H/G, R/H relationship. Another story is 'The One I Dream Of' by gorgeous_granger. It is also a H/G, R/H relationships.

But I would like to reccommend something new. 'In Over Our Heads' is fantastic! Its by writer101 about J/L with a tiwst. Harry is there too. As Harry, Ron and Hermione are on their quest for the horcruxes Harry is trapped in the middle of his parents 6th year of Hogwarts. With Harry is pretending to be someone he isn't its alot of fun to read on how Harry gets to see his parents and how they lived.

These fics are something to defenitly to check out!

If you are looking for a different twist with the character of Severus Snape, I would recommend reading Turncoat by baz

This is an engaging story about Remus Lupin in the trenches as a werewolf spy. When the Order doesn't hear from him in three days, they send in Severus to assess the situation and make sure Lupin in alright.

Baz uses excellent description that will engage you as a part of her story. check it out.

Be Careful What You Wish For, by Eliasosiris is an amazing fanfic about a young Tom Riddle. She carefully crafts a believable plot based on just one small portion of canon. If you want to be entertained, check it out. It is truly and inspiring read.
