Just a little spot to discuss the mysterious relationship of Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy.

Well, how old is Narcissa? I think Lucius is in his 40s, I think he was at schoot the same time as Molly and Arthur, but what about Narcissa? I wonder if she really did love him, or only married cause her family approved. Wouldnt it be cute if she were in love with Arthur? Okay, I read way too much fanfic, lol.

Narcissa was in the same year as Sirius, so in the fifth book she was 35 and Lucius was 41. I think Narcissa does like (maybe love) him though, because she didn't have to marry him, the Black family was very rich on its own, plus he is attractive, correct? I've been on that Lucius/Narcissa site a bit too much.

I think she does at least like him. She'll probably be upset now that he's gone to Azkaban. But I doubt he'll be in there long. It's only a matter of time till Voldy gets the dementors on his side again. Which shouldn't take long at all. So, he'll probably be coming home to her soon.

I'm surprised that she's not a Death Eater as well. For all we know, she could turn Death Eater while her husband is in Azkaban.

I think Bellatrix is the only female Death eater. Narcissa, I suppose, just supports Voldemort.

I think Narcissa only agrees with Voldy, maybe she doesnt, I dunno. I dont know if she would become a Death Eater, I think she likes just playing mom to our little Draco. Only Bellatrix seems to be the only woman who Voldy finds important.

How much do we really know about Narcissa?

I only know this stuff from reading between the lines and keeping an eye on the Malfoys through the books. Luckily, there will be more Narcissa in book six!

I would love to find out more information on Narcissa, or any of her other sisters. I love the Black Famliy tree, and hopefully JK will give us some more background information on all these wizard famlies.

I see no real problem with that relationsship, it's a by convenience, they like each other because they have money, power and they are pure blood! Some people tend to confuse they ideal social situation with love.

But here is a funny stuff, Lucius is realy hard core DE but not Narcissa she loves Draco and is willing to risk some harm to help him. Thing that Bellatrix or Lucious will not do.

Hm...an interesting thread. The infamous Malfoys. How they became to be, no one knows. Well, they got married, they must've at least had a tolerance for each other. It might've been an arranged marriage too...hm...

definately interesting...this all comes down to the other theory of whether cissa might actually come to the good side...because sheobviously doesn't love lucius if she doesn't love the dark arts...i really can't think of two things that walk hand-in-hand more

i think narcissa does love malfoy beacuase remember when she told her sister to never talk bad about lucious again i think she does love him

I think Narcissa loves Lucius..or did at one point. Narcissa is my favorite character so it pains me to say that maybe she only fell for Lucius because he was powerful and pureblood. She was sad about him being in Azkaban so we can only assume she at least cares about him.
I think she is a great character with a lot of potential to become a fabulous character so I am really wishing J.K.R will write a little more aobut her in the 7th book. ..actually I hope she'll go into more detail with the whole black family and it's branches...I am obsessed with the Black family.

I think they are the perfect power couple. I don’t see either one as weak or sub servant to the other’s will. Both seem to have the same high aspirations for their son Draco and both give equal support. Draco in turn supports and respects both of his parents. This to me is a very powerful family that works well together. When Draco is given a perilous task and Lucius in Azkaban unable to help, Narcissa pulls front and center and twists Snape cleanly into her ‘unbreakable vow’ to aid her son. I think the love between the Malfoys is a strong bond.

Yes I agree, they are evil, well mostly evil, but they still have that love in their hearts for each other than they are of anyone else. I think they are only scared of Voldemort to be honest, Draco wouldn't have done what he did if he wasn't scared of Voldemort. I agree they all share powerful love, maybe one day they can think, why should I be doing these horrible things? I am ripping families apart and I would loose everything if my family was torn apart.

I find it odd that someone who has committed so many atroctites and that are so mean can have room for a family, or love for that matter. However, maybe they were scared into an alliance with Voldemort. Or, more probable, they are attracted to power, and found a way to get in one it. The second is more likely.

This is a possibility there are both evil right. They both are Death Eaters. It could happen.

I always thought that Narcissa and Lucius were brought together through evil ways. I think the learned to love each other throught the years. I never thought that it was love at first sight.

Aww... I love this couple, but I think my mind has been warped from fanfic. I mean, in the book they aren't like... lovey dovey, since we only see them together at the World Cup. (Still SO mad that they cut her)
But, she has to atleast LIKE him, since she does defend him against her siser. I can almost see her as the rich housewife who enjoys living with her husband's riches, but still actually misses him and him alone when he goes away.

I think that the only reason they might have married was because of the fact that they are pure bloods. Lucius was an apparent racist, hating the muggles and those that were not pure bloods.

I think that in their private life Lucius and Narcissa might have cared for each other. Although Rowling did not elaborate at all on the Malfoys, I got the idea from the start of book 7, that the Malfoys were disillusioned with Voldemort. He was threatening their very existence. I'm sure that the Malfoys felt he was an insane menace to the wizard society.

At the end of DH, we find the Malfoys sitting in some corner of the great hall at Hogwarts. And there Rowling left them! I guess, we the reader, can speculate whatever we want with what became of them! I'd like to think that they went on with their lives, albeit not so much in public. And, I'd like to think that they changed their views about a lot of things and they no longer felt they were better than the others.

without a doubt..they do love each other...just the way the appear together it shows already great affection towards each other...I think..if they werent that mean they would be really cute together...actually I think they are in a way a perfect couple...and draco their love child...

Knowing that the Black family put so much emphasis on pureblood marriages, I have to wonder if Lucius and Narcissa originally chose eachother as the best "option" out of the possible choices for pureblood marriages at the time. I could never see either of them "settling" though, so I'm sure there must have been some sort of mutual attraction and/or respect, if not love between them originally.
You can see that they do love and care for eachother as we see more of them in the series. I think if they hadn't already found that they loved eachother, being bullied and used by Voldy and the crew would have strengthened the bond between them. They come across as a well-connected team.
