My amortentia smells!:
-my sister has a vanilla lotion that smells incredible
-the leather on my baseball glove is a unique smell... i don't really like baseball but i constantly smell my hand after a game
-chocolate cake in the oven
-the air right before it rains
-and finally i would smell a burning match or a barbecue fire that's recently been lit.
I'm not sure why so many people like the smell of "freshly cut grass"...i think it's disgusting

I like the smell of:
Bread baking
Aftershave (but not too much and only certain ones)
Rain after a really hot day when the ground is so dry it sizzles
A frosty morning when its so cold you can hardly breath
New books
Almonds
Put together this would most likely be the worst smelling thing ever, but what the hell!

Mine would probably be a spicy, sweet, strong cinnamon flavor,
or a musky men's cologne that smells of
burning leaves, or peppermint
Or the smell of fresh air, right in the morning, when the dew still lingers on the grass.
*sigh* What heavenly smells

My Amortentia would smell like earth when it just finished or just started rainning, a Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy lotion called "Sleep" (it's a mixture of lavender and vanilla), the countryside, horse sweat (that's kind of weird, I know!), and snow while falling and when it just stopped falling (I find a smell in snow! That deep cold is so nice to me!)... Mmm! That feels like love!

My amortentia would smell of men's aftershave, the distinct smell of fall and the crispness of leaves, the smell of rain and the smell of a thunderstorm. Also I love the smell of lavender and vanilla.
I'm not sure how to describe the smell of fall or autumn, but it's very special to me.

My amortentia would smell like:
A thunderstorm. The weight of the surrounding air just seems to have this fantastic scent, I can't really describe it.
Baking. The smell of home etc.
Vanilla. Can't really elaborate here...
Wet Summerfruits. Like apricots and peaches and stuff.
DARK chocolate. Oh that smells so good...
Fireworks. Another one I can't describe well. It's just got this great, slightly acidic (for want of a better word) smell.
Oh, and peppermint.

It would smell like an early summer day, chocolat or the smell of our house. You know, when you've been away for a few days, you can smell the scent of your own house, nothing is better than that. Or freshly baked cookies, they smell very good as well. I can go on for a few hours, but these are the best scents I think of right now.

What my church smells like when no-one is there, it smells like old incense, books,and wine- i really love it. Not to weird anyone out or anything, but my fiance josh has a particular smell i cannot define- but I know I would smell it

This is what I would smell.

Ah, I never thought of this before! Interesting ...
I suppose my Amortentia would smell like before and/or after a thunder storm/heavy rain on a hot summers day, cranberries (especially the smell of Cranberry lipgloss/hand wash/body butter from The Body Shop!), my best friends' oversized sweater (it reminds me of this one time we all went to the drive-in in late september. it was freezing, and he gave me his sweater. it smelled good. that smell reminds me of good times.), Jolt energy drink, and Indigo (book store.

)

), DKNY - Be Delicious, those Artline Permanent Black Markers (google it, you all know them), the smell of Italy (mmmm

) and a new Harry Potter book! AHA

Good topic! What would I smell? Hmm ...
* The matchday pies I get at Saint James' Park before the Newcastle match
* Petrol/diesel
* Geraniums
* The vine you get with cherry tomatoes - it smells like greenhouses

* Baby Doll perfume
* Peaches
* Freshly-baked bread
* Makeup removal wipes (don't ask)
* Patchouli oil
* Incense
.... so yeah, my amortentia would just be a great big mess of all those stuff

Mine would probably be the smell of fresh laundry when they first get out of the dryer. Mmmm, I love that smell, especially when I wash my blanket and I curl up with it at night, the smell is amazing. I also like guy's cologne. Not sure which brand, but sometimes when my guy friends walk past me or give me a hug, I just catch that scent and sometimes bury my head in their jacket. And also, as weird as it may sound I like the smell of gasoline. My dad tells me not to breathe it in all the time, but I just can't helpit sometimes. So whenever we go to fill up our car with gas, I always leave my window down just a tad.

I know somewhere way back when I posted in this thread but I think my amortentia would have changed since then. I would have to say that smell of burning wood, like from a campfire or fireplace is so enticing.
I know most of you will think this is gross but I love the smell of my husband when he has finished with working out or being out in the yard. That sweaty, sexy smell. Yeah, I think I would be the only one to fall for this smell.

Let's see... I believe mine would smell like the ocean, horses, and guy's "Curve" cologne. Those are the three I'm sure of.
Others would be the smell of the forest and of the inside of a Hollister store.

I love the perfume/cologne they have in there!

Mine would be mint, sea breeze, ginger. And I think it would also smell like spring air or like a forest - I like the fresh smell of spruces. I also love the smell of roses and lavender.

For me, the first thing would probably be wood shavings (like my grandfather's wood shop, which I have made a lot of things in). I also would probably smell pine trees, because I love nature. And last but not least, I would smell oil paint

, which has a nice fresh smell, oily, but not chemical at all.

Apr 27 2008, 02:55 PM
Well, hmm...
Mine would probably smell like old books(that kind of musty, library smell), a really good, earthy smell the ground gets after it rains, and cooking bacon. Weird combination, right?

May 4 2008, 03:43 AM
This is a really good thread, I agree with whoever said that you can tell a lot about a person from their favourite smells. Now what would mine be? Hmm..... I'd say a bookshop, my favourite coffee-house, the top of a baby's head, and a smell that I can't describe, but I smell it everytime I enter my aunts house!

May 7 2008, 10:33 PM
Ooh interesting question!!!
I'd have to say the smell of the pages of a book (you know when you flip through and inahle deeply?), chocolate, fresh bread (don't ask why!)..not sure what else!! Maybe that rainy smell after a rainfall. Looking down I see lots of people like that. It does have a good smell. Freshly mown grass is nice, too.

May 9 2008, 03:33 PM
Hmm, there's a lot for me. I love smells.
- The smell after it's been raining
- The smell of spring. You know its really floral and you can just tell that summer's on its way
- Lynx - you know the guys deoderant
- Freshly mown grass
- Coffee
- Old books
- New books
- The smell after you've been drawing and then you rub it out
- Petrol
- Charlie Red - the body spray =P
- Ralph Lauren - Cool
- Friends. You know how people have their own smell? I love the smell of my friends because it means they're around.
- The smell after my mums been cooking a really good meal
- Clean linen
- And I love the smell of Pot, as in the drug. It's terrible I know, but it smells luuush

Haha I wont go on, there's some random smells there. But I love how you can tell stuff about people and things just by their smell. And when things smell familiar, cause it's comforting having something familiar around.
