HEY PEOPLE!I have to say that fall out boy are definitely on form! They have awesome songs and are an awesome band... biggrin.gif I was watching "Just see MTV" and there was this band that came on...I think it was caled Bringing Back Sunday and the song was called Make damn sure.Well, I thought it was really good...

I wonder what you guys think of Paris Hiltons song:"Stars are Blind"...I think its ok...Not the best...But she tried huh.gif

She is definitely a better singer than an actor...Hahahaha happy.gif
I LUV FALL OUT BOY
hey luckyfish! i bet the band you saw was called "Taking Back Sunday" right?

hehe paris hilton...now that i hear the song again, it sounds lamer. paying more attention to the music, it doesn't sound at all good. singing is not her thing. haha my mom thinks she's horrible. come to think of it, she's terrible.
BlueKnight
The only thing that i can listen from american music scene is LB and lynyrd skynyrd ;-) foe now. tongue.gif
imtherealluna*
Hey people!
#12 looks like you is an awesome band, and fuse has good music, not just pop. and unfortunatly someone *cought* *pretty in punk* *cough* doesn't like fuse..
And lucky fish, if you meant taking Back Sunday, their new cd is awesome! I would get it. Its called "Louder Now" ( a line from "What's it feel like to be a ghost")their song "What's it feel like to be a ghost" is good, but i really like "Miami".
Paris hilton. dots.gif she's just not really the... singer type... but she is better that hilary Duff, ghast, she's horrible.

esrb99 i added you to my myspace.
Esrb99
TBS's(taking back sunday's) best song is A decade under the influence, easily. Louder now is meh, not as good as their previous two works.

if you like #12, check out Fear before the March of Flames, or Cute is What Were Aiming For.

oh, and of course I always reccomend AFI, At The Drive In, Underoath, and Atreyu.

yeah, Myspace is bein dumb.

Paris Hilton obviously cannot sing. listen to her talking voice, and her singing. literally impossible. its obvious tahat so much was cut from the analog(literally... sometimes even I use the technique..) and added with digital production trackers, but really... I jusr can't stand it. Even my mom, who loves pop, says it sounds too fake.

oh, and she had someone else write those incredibly lame lyrics. cause she tried using too many big words.

AND she ate Davey's B-day Vegan cake whiel AFI was in the studio.

lame.

Analog reels rule.

so does Shure.

-- Thomas
luckyfish
Hey there I LUV FALL OUT BOY ! biggrin.gif Yeah, you were right about the name for that band!I guess I should read properly... happy.gif

I agree with you on the paris hilton saga and song etc, But you have to amit that she is a better singer than an actress? laugh.gif She should stick to her day job of being an heiress and spoilt brat cos che is better at that... rolleyes.gif

I recently downloaded Pink's songs: Stupid Girls and Who Knew, and I have to say that they are really good...She really put the message across about being rich, skinny and really stupid...I love Who Knew, its different from her usual songs... wink.gif

I also think that Dani California is a really good song...I love the music video, its so funny laugh.gif I like tha song by AFI-Miss murder...Really different...

Has anyone heard that song by Placebo?Infra-red?I think its great...The music video is really good

Well, got to go...Cheerio cool.gif
imtherealluna*
like omg. i bought the Cute is what we aim for cd, and it is pretty good.its better than what i expected it to be. weird thing is i bought it before you told me though.
Dani California is a funny music video, luckyfish. I like Pink's Stupid Girls song and video. She's pretty cool.
paris Hilton. she should stick to being a spoiled blonde. if i said my comment i would probably get kicked off. so once again. dots.gif excl.gif Ohhh, forgot to post this, has anyone seen the Raconteurs new music video for "Steady as she goes".they actually have two different versions. The original verson (them playing at a house/ barn thing.), adn a new one with them at a boxcart race. I like the boxcart race one better though.
Bye for now!
~Crystal/ Luna~
Esrb99
lol, cute is really rad.
I bought The Bastards of Youg DVD, which is an indie movie about indie bands like Thurday, Fall Out Boy, Saosin, The Juliana Theory, Matchbook Roamnce, At The Drive In etc.. making it big. its pretty good, talking about the (awsome) basement shows that go on in Jersey (and here in MO, they're fun to play in...) and such... really legit.

yeha, the Cute album is pretty rad, and I (finally) found the AFI Dork 7"!!!!!

Payed $52.64, really g00d price... to me anyways.

I *heart* vinyl.

-- Thomas
imtherealluna*
dude, now way, i saw the Bastards of young movie, like yesterday! It was on Fuse right? i think your magical. lol. tongue.gif
well like yeah, i just got an ipod nano, thanks to my very nice aunt.
yay, i guess. ummm... think that's it for now.... bye!!!!!
*Sorry so short*
~Luna~

Esrb99
yea, it was also on fuse...

fuse is like thebest.

im poor, no ipod. vinyl=betterer.

But goshness, the raddest thing happened!

my friends, Here I Come Falling (myspace = /hicf ) somehow snagged a secret show \with the GREAT NORMA JEAN!!! I am soooooo stoked, as Norma is supposed to be at Ozzfest, and they are leavin early to come HERE to play!!! its going to be the shizz...

gah!

like, its gonna be the best Christian rock concert. ever. hands down.

-- Thomas
imtherealluna*
wow.thats cool. im not going to any concerts if im right. i wanted to go to a local concert today, but no one is able to go. sad.gif i also wanted to go to a taking back sunday concert, but like my friend (whos mom was my only chance of a ride) is going to texas that day. sucks...
yay! like i can kinda play this beginner song on guitar already! *happy* and i just got my shirt from clandestine indestries! *happy*.

~Luna~
Esrb99
clandestine is like scne... rad white hoddie I got from there!

Tonight's gonna be legit, Here I Come Falling playin here tonight... schweet show yess!!!
imtherealluna*

how was the concert? hope it was awesome.
i love Be Your Own Pet! they are the bestest (not really, but they're really good). their songs are short, but the beat is good. i like Fuuuuuun.some thier songs (expecially Buck Trunk Skunk) has profanity, but the songs are good. biggrin.gif

*gah* like fueled by ramen cheated me out on my money. *sad*
my Fall Out Boy shirt never came.
my mom emailed them (consitering we put it under her name).
hope i get the shirt. it was a limited edition shirt..... only had my size, and the size that was smaller than mine..... hope i get the shirt (or at least a refund.)......
Esrb99
if it never shipped, then the card was never charged.

thats how it usually works...

yeah, I basically got a busted lip and nose in the pit last night, but it was WAYYYY worh it!

and I found out that THE NORMA JEAN is skiping a day on Ozzfest to come to MISSOURI of all places to play with some local bands, jsut cause they want to!!!

thats pretty rad, AND it's only $12

next friday is going to be soooooo legit!

O God The Aftermath + live noise of Noma Jean proforming the record x intimate secret show = Priceless (for $12)

-- Thomas
imtherealluna*
ouch.... must of hurt...
*does geeky happy dance* i got my shirt today. *happy*
like are you serious? $12? dude the little concert here was $15! and that a bunch of "undiscovered" bands....
to bad i live over here..... nothing really happens in the AV.....
omg, funny thing! Ashlee simpson is going to play a concert at the AV fair! she's going to lipsing! lol. like her singing is so bad the only place that accepts her is the AV. are we like the last resort, for everything? lol
Esrb99
haha, sux, I get that AND Warped in a few weeks.. ourundiscovered/unsigned band shows are either $3-$5 at a small venue, or free in someones basement, with area bands from Oklahoma, Illinois, and here in Missouri.

thats how we ROLL!!!

*pretty in punk*
Yeah, been to lazy to much lately, but I'm back.
I'm mad bout Ashlee Simpson performing at the AV! mad.gif Is the AV that lame? The only time my town is mentioned on the news or something is when someone dies!(sorry, that was off topic! offtopic.gif )
I finally got my video iPod! *does iPod victory dance* It's a black one, and it's beautiful! Sorry if I'm rubbing it in. blush.gif

Esrb99, your so lucky!

Anyone feel free to pm me!
Esrb99
how am I lucky??? I have to travel 100 miles go see an INDIE LABEL band.. ashlee comes to your town... bigger than what I get, im just able to travel to shows... (like Warped and AFI)

I just got ahold ofan indie artist... look him up on myspace....
vespertine

1 man band, sounds like the stuff my band does, only a bit softer, and less produced... but very amazing!

-- Thomas
imtherealluna*
im sorry, i just had to laugh.
i would rather go see an indie and than see ashlee simpson. it soesn't matter who's bigger, it matters who's better.... well at least thats what matters for me.
*yay* happy, i got lostprophets new album! i also go the early nevember's new album! haven't really listened to it (consitering it has 46 song.) but im happy!
vesperine... ill check him out.

theres no basement shows here, consitering there are no basements here.... the only local band i had heard aroud here is this one band that elijah (sp?) is in, and that was at a talent show, last year......... they were good.....

*offtopic!* hey, *pretty in punk* you forgot when highland got a terrorist threat for valentine's day. that would of been soo horrible if they didn't catch those people. *scared* ......whoopss!!!! offtopic!
*pretty in punk*
I was going to say that, but I already knew I was going of topic! Which I am right now.

I have to agree with imtherealluna*, I would rather travel to see a good band/singer than have a horrible one come to my town.

imtherealluna*, I didn't know that Elijah had a band! Were they good?

Do you guys know that Ashlee Simpson is following the steps of these other singers (can't remember their names right now) who were caught lipsinging at their own concert and then a few years later, they admitted that they didn't even sing any of the songs they had! I can just imagine Ashlee crying at a press confernce, claiming that she never sung those songs...
imtherealluna*
Elijah's band was good. me and ian were in charge of the light, so we were allowed to change the colors, but one of the parents got mad, because she couldnt see her son in the video. im surprized they didn't win 1st or 2nd place! they won third....

omg! the hush sounds "Wine red" video is now on Yahoo music! yay!

ha, i can just see a headline
"Ashlee simpson caught lip singing in av!"
haha... funny!

bye for now!
~Luna~
*pretty in punk*
I can see that happening too! It'll be all over the internet. There probably have some clip or something.

Who won 1st and 2nd in the talent show? huh.gif I don't remember.
imtherealluna*
ha, lol.
it was a popularity contest. some 2 girls who couldn't sing (actually they were lipsinging!) won. but it was a popularity contest. if not upsedh and raykah, and elijah would of won 1st or second. *mad*

well..... i really liked the new early november cd. its good. it tells a story of a boy who ran away. interesting..... i also like the lostprophet's new cd. its pretty cool..............

hmmm.... today, at mel booker's music, i heard someone playing "makedamnsure" really good......... i can tell that they were just learning it, because they playing little parts, then stop. then they would redo the part that they just had played.
loonylunalunatic
I LOVE Rock Music and R&B! Espessially Kelly Clarkson, Disturbed, Beyonce, Black eyed Peas!!!! But I HATE HATE HATE Green Day, Son of Dork, my Brother (Sorry, he doesn't sing!) annd McFly!!! Erg! They get on my nerves!!!!!
*pretty in punk*
Welcome Loonylunalunatic! smile.gif

imtherealluna*, is mel booker's music were you practice playing your guitar at?

I hate when things become a popularity contest. mad.gif They should have had judges at the talent show.
imtherealluna*
hey there looneylunalunatic. i hate green day also! i liked them, but then they got sooo annoying! i sould their cds to my sister (the poser). well.... i like disturded also. they're cool...

~Luna/crystal~
Esrb99
I got some new albums today, as Sam Goody has used cd's now... I got the New(ish.. march...) re-release of Norma Jean's O' God The Aftermath (The Marevelous End of the Exhausted Contender)

The breakdowns and dual chuggin guitars, and riffas are AMAZING!!! I Love Math rock. its genius.

how can you like Rock yet hate Greenday??? lol, if you just hate American Idiot, well then listen to their older stuff... try with Good Riddence. best song they have. no joke.

or try AFI, Saosin, These Arms Are Snakes, Alexisonfire, Underoath, Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, Glassjaw, Something Corporate... etc... you get the idea. non-MTV music.

I hate MTV.
nor do I care of Disturbed. not a fan of _____y nu:Metal... Slipknot, Mudvayne, Marilyn... all those are metal made for MTV. its Disturb(no pun intended)ing!

muchos.

-- Thomas
imtherealluna*
wellz like green days older cds were okay, but like those got over played also. good ridance is their best song though.
over here, green day is for posers and 7th (now 8th) graders. yeah.... kaela, and gabby are some of them....... dont really like them..... omg, kaela got a fall out boy hoodie, but like i dont even think she had the cd or anyting. same with Panic!, like me and *pretty in punk* were saying the panic! thread how they said they looved them, but they really only heard one song.

but afi is cool... got their new cd.... underoath is cool..... wellz.... think thats it... wait no! like cute is what we aim for is coming out with a new video, but its coming out on monday at mtvu.com. im gonna check it out.

-- Thomas

hmmm.... wellz like mohawks are cool... this one dude that i know has one. but because of the school rules, he cant spike it up and all, becuase its a "distraction". he had it like that for the dance though.

like has anyone heard the killers new demo yet?

Told them myself they would make it big. 1 month later, signed by Virgin records. now they're everywhere, its amazing to see those dudes hittin it big!!!

sad to see now that post-Hardcore went to Screamo, and now its gonna be considered the standard.. I guess its time for me to raise it then... *wink*

MOD EDIT:Hey there, one-liner, short post is not allowed here. Please elaboarte next time, alright. ~zyra
lucky ducky
Ya on the FOB site they said that the CD probably isn't going to come out untill late this year or early next year. I do hope that they come out with a single.

I'll check out the Hush sound. i've heard good things about them, but never really had time to check it out. Now I will.

ps. did you hear pete is modeling for the GAP? lol the pictures are really funny if you see them.
Esrb99
Okay, I want to DEBATE MUSIC!!!

anyone???

yes???

no???

we'll I'll fuel the fire...

I like Rock. find a word and add -core to the end, and I probably love it.

Post-Hardcore/indie music today is so out of any other genre's league today, that it's really sad, looking at the catalog of what MTVgoers listen to and comparing it to an indie-equivlant artist, such as 50 Cent to UnderOATH

50 Cent. Best konwn for?? shot nine times.

UnderOATH??? being Hardcore AND Christian, with a bit of keyboards mixed in.

yeah, see my point? anyone can turn dials and make a beat, anyone can talk about women in evey song and get away with it, but not many can turn from utter obscurity in a basement, to creating five straight releases over eight years each in full prime lyrically, instumentally, and vocally and only just be hitting the mainstream. Then again, Look at AFI. how many full lenghts you thenk THEY have???

Just two??

try seven. not counting EP's. or special editions. or tapes. or split vinyl releases.

Country. yes, country. Back in the day, it was great. very. now, even RAP at times make me feel its shame, a title like HONKY TONK?!?!?!

come ON!

at least Panic! At The Disco came up with Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off

good god.

Pop. Look at Omarion. seriously.

how CAN you distinguish these guys?!?!? SERIOUSLY???

they all sound ALIKE!
they say its "all from the heart,a nd all true" but its all the same words, re-hashed each time!!!

Try Norma Jean's O' God, The Aftermath: The Marvelous End of the Exhausted Contender

Then Try The Snake The Cross The Crown's Mander Salis.

Different? yes.

same guy(s) with different names and diffrent titles? no.

And Trust me, 50 cent is DECENT compared to MOST of this past yaers rap.

Yung Joc. Lil Flip. Young Jeezy. Mike Jones. Bubba Sparrxxx(worst-name-for-withe-trailer-trash-rapper award)

what they got in common?

-Ugly
-(usually) can't spell own names.
-Have an album full of a** (talk)
-say their "name" in half of their songs at the beginning of each (at least the single.)
- talk about grills.
-talk about collars.
- while still maintaing vast amounts of uglyness, still seem high oin themselves. neve want THAT drug!

Country.

Trace Adkins.
gets the award for worst song title ever. as of yet. Tomarrow may be one where i see a worse title. (worst yet for rap is Burrito by... never mind. its burrito. byPete Yorn. gah. rap.)

It's a 7-11
Do you want to take a walk outside
If you want a burrito
You can have another bite of mine

wow.

and in stark conctrast. the Great Great Great Norma Jean with, Coffinspire: Multitudes, Multitudes In The Valley Of Decision

This world is damned to hell and it's a revelation.
And this is a shallow grave, and it's on the highest rise,
We stand on its highest crest.
I'll set myself on fire. Come on, watch me burn.
Poisoned now enough to kill ten hundred men.
The harvester's mouth has not gone dry.

oh, Milkshake song.

...

yeah.

so, anyone ready to refute me?

i've still got the big guns...

*wink*

Alright so just today i got interested in a new group thanks to a friend i know on another forum. It's a rock group that i think disbanded a while back but their music is still fantastic in my eyes. the group/artist is Nightwish. they are from Finnland which is neat and rather odd because the main singer sings in english.

anyone who likes rammstein would definitely get into them. they are a much hard rock/goth but you the only way you could tell that they may be goth is by their music videos which basically are your typical rock/goth videos if you ask me.

Anyone like Breaking Benjamin, Lacuna Coil, or Lordi. some fantastic rock groups!!!

anyway i am in love with this group now and they have some of the best music i have ever heard...too bad they aren't together anymore or at least that's the news i have heard recently!

anyway to all you rock fans and whatnot...Rock On!! biggrin.gif
imtherealluna*
you know esrb99, that is true.

i like rock also, but im more into Fall Out Boy, Hush Sound, Be Your own Pet, that type of rock.

like Eminem has about 2 songs about himself.
"Will the really Slim Shady Please stand Up?"
concededness.
thats only one line.

Omarion and whats his name? Mario.
at first i saw Mario i thought it was Omarion. they do sound the same.
and they look alike and sound as annoying.

i think the poo/rap music has gotten way overrated.
Fergie and her single "London Bridge". come-on!
gah, and Paris Hilton! Stars are blind. she must be musically deaf!

some like Christina Aguilara and here single "Ain't No Other man" is pretty cool, and isnt really like the other music.
they consitered here a "Saint" compared to the other pop singers in Entertainment Weekly.

wellz think thats it.
bye.
luna
got harry?
Muahahahaha! I love this place already and I've only read a few posts...
Eh, I made a list a while ago so I'll just copy it here. It's on my profile too.

James Blunt
Jason Mraz
Liz Phair
KT Tunstall
Nelly Furtado

And I bet I forgot some too...

Well anyways, I like a little of everything. And when I say a little I mean nothing too hardcore for that genre. For example, I like rock. But not hardcore sreamo rock. Rock music is my favorite, but you would probably call it pop rock. Doesn't matter to me. I like what I listen to. A certain friend of mine is always pointing out that I should open up more and listen to other bands, most of which I've never heard of in my life. But I don't like sticking to just one genre and getting so deep into it that I can't even listen to LA's #1 Hit Music Station without loathing all the top-charting hits or go to a dance because I hate all the songs they play *winkwink*.
I appreciate good music. Whether it be with good singing or good lyrics or just plain good music (by that I mean like the drums sound good, etc).
And I always have to hear a singer live before I put them on my "Really Can Sing" list. Like Mary J Blige. She doesn't even really sound good in her songs, and I heard her on Dancing With The Stars and she was horrible. Some singers (like Chris Brown), you can blame it on the dancing-at-the-same-time part. But she was standing in one place and still totally sucked.
For some singers I don't really care if they can sing or not. Take Ashlee Simpson. Yes, we all know she's a lip singer. But I don't really care. I love her song L.O.V.E. It's just...a good song, at least to me.
And I love the drums in "Sugar We're Goin Down". Yep, that was random but I had to put it in there to show you how I actually listen to the music in the background and that I'm not that hip hip/rap type that listens to songs that only have "doodoodee...doodoodee" in the backgroud. Like Cassie's "U and Me". Horrible, horrible song that is.
I mostly love music I can sing along too. With meaningful lyrics. And songs I can relate too.

Okay, enough with my ranting...
Laura
I used to love all different kinds of music, pop, rock, hiphop, r'n'b, just everything (except techno). But this changed, my music list now would look like this:

KoRn
Franz Ferdinand
We Are Scientists
The Strokes
The Hives
Slipknot
Stone Sour
Angels & Airwaves
Panic! At The Disco
Thrice
Arctic Monkeys
The States
Coldplay
Die Ärzte/Farin Urlaub
Beatsteaks
Dido
Stars
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Kaiser Chiefs
Rheya
Dope
James Blunt
Less than Jake
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Flyleaf
Linkin Park
The Ramones
Clap your hands say yeah
Die Prinzen
Nelly Furtado
Ben Folds Five
The Shins
The Corrs
Pennywise
The Beatles
Evanescence
Fall Out Boy
U2

So yeah, this is some of the stuff I like..though there's still lots missing. Oh and if you like what I like (lol) I really recommend "The States". I've got one of their songs on my myspace profile..you should listen to it! happy.gif

I've noticed something as I was skimming through and reading some of other people's favorite bands and artists--everybody made a list. So let me explain my music taste before I make my list, because yes, there will be a list. I love making lists. Anyways. My musical taste...ranges, but not really, if that makes any sense at all. Its a lot of indie or pop rock or screamo....things like that. and I dont really like the labels. I pretty much used those things so much that it got old and made my tummy hurt so I dont use them anymore. Instead I'll just say..."Oh this band has this bands vibe..." Or something along those lines. I have realized that I dont like bands that are in thier late 20's and still complain about thier parents not believing in them. *coughcoughsimpleplancoughcough* I used to like them....when I was 14 and though everybody in the world was against me. Of course, when I get all childishly angry I'll pop them in the cd player...although The Used has really taken up that spot.....But I'm getting completely off point. I'm not even sure what my entire point was, but now I'm just going to make my list. Its pretty much like everybody elses. Feel free to ask if you've never heard of the band. I'll tell you all about them, because when I obsess over a band....I obsess. So...list time:
