A good band is a band that you enjoy listening to.
Whether it be for the sound, the lyrics, etc is a different matter.
If you like Slightly Stoopid you know of Sublime I presume??
The single absolute best band to have existed. Hands down, no questions asked.

My friend recently told me about PlayRadioPlay!... and I absolutely love them. They make me happy. Woohoo!!

Aaah... the only song I've heard by The Number 12 Looks like You is their version of My Sharona... it's pretty darn good, I'm not going to lie.
I've never really liked My Chemical Romance all that much, but I'm really liking the new CD. You can listen to the entire disk on their website... it's pretty cool, actually.

I have all kinds of music that i listen too. Growing up in the 80's the era of big hair bands, and valley girl music, I would have to say that I love Guns N Roses, Cinderella, Metallica, Poison, Motley crue and Warrant.
I also like old school rap such as Snooop Dogg, Dr Dre, Icecube and Sir Mixalot.
Todays music oh there are so many that i like, Green Day, Weezer, Bowling for Soup, Ciara, Shakira, Eminem, Nickelback, Coldplay and so many more. I just love music and if its a good song and has a good beat then I'll listen to it. Don't care much for country though its so depressing!

I love listening to Show tunes the most, but I also like bands that are foreign to me like The Birthdya Massacre, Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, L'ame Immortelle, and more. I'm also a sucker for jazz and swing dance music since I play Trumpet. I don't really like today's mainstream music like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Things like that. But if you like them, than I don't mind. Just my personal opinion.

I love showtunes and jazz as well. I'm more of a jazz kind of girl, even though I couldn't play it to save my life.
My favorite jazz musician is Benny Goodman. I also love Duke Ellington.
Fall Out Boy.....I honestly have no words to describe the emense hatred I feel towards them (and every single 'emo' band out there). I'll just leave it at that.
I also love Hanson. And other Fansons around here?? No? Alright then.
Some of my favorite bands/artists are, Keane, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Bjork, Emiliana Torrini, Radiohead.....you get the idea
Just the Droobles
Nov 28 2006, 04:00 AM
Amazing!
I like Benny Goodman because he plays clarinet. Sing, Sing, Sing is a fun one. I also have some strange hatred toward Fall Out Boy. What exactly is a Fall Out Boy? Has anyone ever asked them that?
I was a Hanson fan way back when. MmmBop is always fun. And Franz Ferdinand....aah.

I also have a weird liking for Christmas music...
Jezebel
Nov 28 2006, 04:12 AM
^ Yay another Benny Goodman fan! I went to a flea market a few months ago and stocked up on some amazing vintage records. Benny Goodman was among them. I absolutely love it. It's got a great (seems to be extended) version of Sing Sing Sing on it.
Haha, I have no idea what a Fall Out Boy is. It's probably something stupid that I'll never get
Have you heard Hanson's new stuff? Much better than Mmmbop
Christmas music is great. I'm actually listening to it now. Bing Crosby does some of my very favorite Christmas songs. I had a strange obsession with the song White Christmas when I was little.

hahaha...Fall Out Boy got their name from a fan, little did they know it was a character on this one show.
well anyways..."someone" [he knows who he is

]is getting me into My Chemical Romance. that is why i have requested some CDs from my cousins for Christmas. or New Year's actually, i dont celebrate Christmas with them, it's rather my mom's side of the family, they're from my dad's.
and i heard some of All Time Low's songs on myspace, so i'm interested in buying some of their CDs. which is only two, if i am correct.

but i got to say thatīs not my kind of music...iīm sorry... iīm a singer myself and have high expectation of other musicians.
i love to get to know new bands (iīm sort of that independent label junky)...i was the first one, at my school, knowing about bands like the hives or franz ferdinand(these are actually my favourite bands...i was visiting concerts of both and i loved it!)
i adore jazz, swing and blues as well (i was singing that music for about 4 1/2 years myself.

Ah yes. The Simpsons. I think I remember all that now. Thanks!
I love indie music. Although, I hate using the term "indie" as a genre, because that really isn't correct. Indie isn't a genre, it's a way of life.
Anyways, my favorite indie band is in fact, Hanson. Yes. They're indie.
I also love Stephen Fretwell, Emiliana Torrini, and The Long Winters. I've stumbled across some amazing indie bands from the UK. I dont know if you've heard of them or not. There's, Dead World Leaders and Avangaad. A fabulous American one is the band, Afterall. Oh man. Amazing stuff.
I would post links, but I dont know if I can do that on here or not. So. I'll wait

Oh, I wasn't accusing you of using the term wrong. I was just making a statement
I always hate it when I like a band and no one else has ever heard of them. It gets kind of lonely, lol. I try and get people into these bands, but they're just too close minded and wont take the time. I hate that.

Yeah, I really dont understand the whole emo thing. All these kids are calling themelves emo and acting lke it's this brand new fad, when in actuality it's been around for quite a while. The "real" emos will tell you all about it.

Contrary to popular belief, "Emo" does not mean 'emotional.' According to my brother, who is what we call "Emo" (he's even got the haircut

), Emo means 'Emotive Hardcore." And that's why bands are sometimes labeled as "emo-core." So all the kids that sit around and cry and whine and cut themselves when they know they really don't want to die, aren't emo. They are just...sad.
Heehee...just found this definition on urbandictionary.com:
4. Emo
Like a Goth, only much less dark and much more Harry Potter. And if you go to urbandictionary.com and type in emo, if you scroll down to definition 6, you'll get the correct definition, along with some other fun things on that page.

I'll just (link)[edit] it.
Actually, upon review of that link, it may be a little PG-13 or above. So, if you want to really see it, you can search it. If you have trouble, you can PM me.
So, now that we've had a nice music lesson, on to the real music!!

I'm not going to lie, I listen to what some people call "emo music", but I recently have found that I really like some of the stuff from Justin Timberlake's CD

My favorite type of music is Hip Hop and R&B. I like a bit of pop and rock, but am not much of an expert when it comes to naming artists in that genre.
