yay more Anberlin fans biggrin.gif
I wish i could see them live. I think id get really frustrated if i went to see a band i loved and they werent good live!! blink.gif

biggrin.gif

Yeah! That's why I'm considering not going... it'd be upsetting and I probably wouldn't listen to them any more.
Which would be even more upsetting tongue.gif
Daphne Loves Derby is going to be performing with them, I personally love anything acoustic so they're a plus for me. Anyone like them??
Esrb99
seeing anberlin was like Fall Out Boy... not spot on perfect, but they were very into the performance... its like a bunch of Hardcore metal kids playing pop-punk. good stuff....

just remeber if you see them that your getting a show; not a crappy version of the cd in realtime.

but yeah, if you want a really energetic group go with anberlin.

In other news, anyone get the new Chariot record yet??? I've heard it kills southern HXC style...

Gia Malfoy Black
Can't say I've read all the pages of this thread, there are so many! lol.

I'm a metal fan, my fav band ever is MegadetH.

I love Anberlin! Cities is the best CD ever! I actually can't think of any songs on that CD that I don't like. Godspeed definitely beats 'em all, though! wink.gif Hey that just gave me an idea for a new avvie!

Can't say I've heard the new Chariot record... when was it out?

Thanks for the insight on the show... I'm pretty sure I'll be attending it now, I've just got to get an ID because apparently it's at a bar or something... either way.

Haha, very nice avatar twilightprince! Excellent choice bud. happy.gif

It came April 3rd.. still waiting for mine from Smartpunk though... (boo)

Gettin a free t-shirt, dvd, and poster w/ it!!! im so pumped.

the new Snake Cross Crown was amazing as well, beautiful Folk rock.
MyBroomstickIsBetterThanYours
Aah that's awesome though. Worth the wait.

I'm not going to lie, I hadn't heard of Snake Cross Crown... I checked them out on purevolume, actually quite enjoyable. I didn't think I'd like them judging by the genre, but it was pretty darn good.
JSB 073

Lately I've gotten into Mika. I love Grace Kelly, the song. ANd lately I've been listening to the Gym Class Heroes. I lvoe the song Shoot down the stars, its inspiring.
workaholic_1231
I listen to a variety of music genres. It really depends on my mood and what's going on at that point in time. I listen to a lot of Alternative, Rock, classic Rock, and a couple congs here and there from other genres.
Aside from that, I will sometimes listen to classical usually only when I'm in a severe need for relaxing.
Esrb99
So its almost halfway through 2k7, top album lists anyone so far???

1) The Snake The Cross The Crown - Cotton Teeth

2) The Dear Hunter - Act II:...

3) Bright Eyes - Cassadaga

4) The Chariot - The Fiancee

5) Circa Survive - On Letting Go

Though I think the Dear Hnter may move up, I also expect my top 5/10 to be rounded off with Everytime I Die, The Thrice quad disc release, and The Number 12 Looks Like You (Which looks awsome.)

2007 is beating 2006 easily.
HJP/HJG_TrueLove
i love the fray but im also a big fan of the who, queen, the beetles, the rolling stones, simon and garfunkel, CSNY, Billy Joel, Steve Miller, U2, and so many more dont make me go on
Nawrehsuan
I listen to a lot of genres but mainly to hip-hop. I like rappers like Ice Cube, The Game, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, Nas, NWA, Snoop Dogg, T.I, Ludacris, Kanye West .etc.

I also listen to bands like Hawthorne Heights, Sum 41, Three Days Grace, Rise Against, Simple Plan.

And then I listen to people like Nelly, Akon, The Pussycat Dolls, Blink 182, J Lo, Shakira .etc.

There is no such thing as Emo.

I think there is, or has been, but no one really makes emo music anymore, with the exception of Bright Eyes I suppose. A fantastic emo band is Sunny Day Real Estate! I don't consider bands like Simple Plan or Fall Out Boy or whatever the cool kids are listening to emo, it's just a bit played out.

I have sort of an eclectic taste in music. My two all time favorite bands have to be Bauhaus (early 80s goth rock) and Mindless Self Indulgence (current electro crazy trip hop punk rock!). I also love Bad Religion, The Dead Kennedys, Ladytron, Bob Dylan, Marilyn Manson, Morrissey, Regina Spektor, & the World/Inferno Friendship Society.

I like everything, actually. smile.gif

I love you.

I think you got what I meant; Emo as it really is is dead; pop has now found a new name (from Disco, to dance, to grunge, to alt, to pop punk, to Emo) and the genre it once was is dead, replaced with a fashion statement, much like Rap has been.

Akon like 14 year olds.
lp_supastar
I'm more of a rock music fan, I also like a bit of dance/techno..although some people call my music as "emo", i dont really label the things i listen to. my fav artists are:

I think people tend to forget that "pop" really means "popular". So we can be dealing with the heaviest metal here, but if that's what all the radios are playing, and what all the kids are listening to, it'd still be considered pop.

I recently got really hooked on to Justin Timberlake. Haha. I really like his new song but I don't know what it's called. I also like Fergie - but mainly just her song "Big Girls Don't Cry". I'm all over the place when it comes to music. I listen to everyone from Ella Fitzgerald to The Beatles to Blondie to Hedley. I will listen to anything. Different types of music catch my interest. In the words of my best friend "whatever tickles my fancy". Haha.
Esrb99

I'm mainly an Indie kid - Arctic Monkey's, The Kooks, Flamboyant Bella, The Killers etc, but I am also a fan of Kelly Clarkson, Lily Allen and the Dixie Chicks. Love all the old country stuff as well (yes, I am cool!) - nothing like a bit of Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette, lol.
HPnerd_0512
I'm really getting into Michael Franti and Spearhead at the moment. I'm preparing for the Up! Festival in September, so I'm also brushing up on my Ben Lee and Old Man River.

Not to mention Silverchair and Powderfinger, two highly respected Australian bands, and I GOT TICKETS for their joint tour!! I'm swo excited I can barely type.

O, music. Music, music, music. A sweet sense of hearing. happy.gif It's so important to me. I could sit all day listening to a sound, melody...

The bands I like? :: Hm, my top priority is Breaking Benjamin (favorite album = Phobia). Other than that, I enjoy pretty much anything that sounds good and not brain washing. From soft rock (Angels & Airwaves) to Killswitch Engage (the only metal band I'll accept), they're all alright. I second Fall out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Rush, Disturbed, Red (to pieces =]) Barlow Girl `BP, and kapoof. happy.gif Soundtracks are widely welcome in my iPod, too.

I'm such a lazy twit to post them listed. =P
Rebelde300198
I love pop-rock music like:

RBD
Belinda
BackstreetBoys
Hannah Montana
annesches

HPnerd_0512
Two songs that move me to tears every time:

"Perfect Day" by Lou Reed
The Hawaiian version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/ What A Wonderful World"
trecoolrocksmysox
GREEN DAY!! Because Tre' Cool rocks!!
Mundu
I like Coldplay. The music is nice and easy-going, and the lyrics are about something more than just 'Girl meets Boy. Girl's life complete.'

QUOTE

i like pretty much everything except for like the screaming not-really-music stuff... i love soundtracks smile.gif and i have a soft spot for violins and cellos
rebel_megz
I love all types of music, honestly. I love Billy Joel's For The Longest Time "If you say good-bye to me tonight, there will still be music left to write" I love that!! And also his song Uptown Girl I LOVE HIM!!! I love oldies stuff biggrin.gif but I also like rap present like Eminem. I hate Britney Spears, sorry for those who do but I don't like her. I like Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Man, I'm mixed up. blink.gif
HPnerd_0512
I'm a Regina Spektor fan. She's so kooky.

Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Across The Universe" by The Beatles is fantastic.

And Radiohead's new album In Rainbows takes my breath away.
Nevilesmylife
Hey everyone
I really like any type of music i guess. some of my favorite bands are boys like girls, and all american rejects. i also love the Jonas brothers. One of my favorite songs from them are s.o.s
but i could really listen to anything. blink.gif
kait
oh, man. i love that version of "across the universe" too, HPnerd_0512.

talie
Who do I listen to? Well, let's see... How many of these artists have you heard of?

A Change of Pace, Anberlin, Boys Like Girls, Chronic Future, Escape the Fate, Jack's Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, Lostprophets, National Product, Never Heard of It, Over It, Seems So Bright, Sugarcult, The Classic Crime, The Finals, The Graduate, The Format, The Hush Sound, This Providence, The Silence

there's more... And some of them aren't signed, just so you know
After the Burial
talie, in your list I have heard of Boys Like Girls, Jimmy Eat World, Sugarcult, and The Hush Sound. So, how does that merit? Am I learned enough? Then again, if I felt inclined, I could probably come up with dozens of artists I like.

As for music, chew on this idea. I like Tupac and Frankie Lymon.
Ginevra
Well, i'm absolutely in love with the Arctic Monkeys, an indie band from England. Anyone else listen to them? (and their lead singer/guitarist, alex turner, is INCREDIBLY hot wub.gif wub.gif )\

I also like The Beatles, the Rolling Stones (contradictory I know but I'm a beatles person at heart wub.gif ), Led Zepellin, Jet, umm, Nirvana a little bit i guess..... I listen to a lot of songs that I heard from the video game Guitar Hero -- anyone else here play guitar hero? it's awesome tongue.gif -- so i have a couple Black Sabbath songs, a Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns 'n Roses, Freezepop, and Franz Ferdinand from that.
