I love music!^^
I like:
Evanescence
Within Temptation
Gothica
Epica
Bullet For My Valentine
Green Day
Simple Plan
Good Charlotte
Linkin Park
My Chemical Romance
Lunatica
Paramore
Nightwish.. etc!

This just about list some of my favourites.
With Temptation are awesome, I particularly adore Somewhere, it's so haunting.
When it Rains by Paramore
My Immortal by Evanessence
Green day...yep gotta love Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
Muse, aren't on your list but I love them, my favourite track is Supermassive Black Hole.
Old school I love David Bowie, Kate Bush, The Cranberries and others.
I used to be a huge R & B fan but when you get to my age, it gets a bit samey and I started to look for something fresh and that led to me raiding my kids cd collections a couple of years back.
So, Good Charlotte and Foo Fighters found their way into my CD collection along with Jamiroquai, James Morrison(OK so he's relatively new), Van Morrison, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. Plus I love classical music from Rachmaninov, Debussy, Tchaisovsky and Beethhoven.
I often burn my own compilation CD's and they are sometimes a very weird mix!

Haha yeah I posted in here before saying that I love pretty much any type of music. I like to think of myself as being fairly eclectic. My most favourite type of music is Rock though, all different types. I love it. Especially Finnish rock, always have loved it lol, The Finns do get their rock just right. I especially love Finnish bands such as The 69 Eyes, Apocalyptica, The Rasmus (old I know, but you can't knock em!) and HIM.
QUOTE
Old school I love David Bowie, Kate Bush, The Cranberries and others.
Haha! You have to love a bit of old school! I love old school music, I'm only 17 and so wasn't alive during what I consider to be the best decades for music =P But I have to say I loove the really old school 60's and 70's (well some of these are 80's and 90's too) bands such as:
The Jam
The Beatles
The Clash
The Ramones
The Pixies
Sex Pistols
The Who
The Rolling Stones
The Beach Boys
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Kiss
Metallica
Black Sabbath
The Buzzcocks
Bon Jovi
And I think I better stop there before I go on for way to long =P Trust me, the list could go on forever.
And I'd just like to note, have you noticed how most of the old bands from mostly the 60's and 70's had names that started with 'The'? lol

I have a song for the summer. I nearly always find a song that just reminds me of this time of year. Two years ago it was The Kooks, She Moves in Her Own Way. Last year was a dark year for music but this year my daughter found
this by Stiff Dylans called Ultraviolet. It's from the soon to be released Brit film called Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging(Full Frontal Snogging in the US)!!

I love this song!!
I got take her to see this movie!!

Music is amazing.

Like Kelly, I enjoy basically every type of music, though I'm not a strong fan of techno. My favourite genre is the good ol' classic rock from the 70s and 80s. The 50s are fun to listen too and are a big hit at costume parties.

Anyway, some of my all-time favourites;
Bon Jovi
Jet Lag Gemini
Rascal Flatts
Paramore
Pat Benetar
Heart
Foreigner
Queen
Brad Paisley
Deep Purple
Kenny Chesney
Boys Like Girls
Blink-182
Atmosphere
All Time Low
And then of course, I have many other favourites that if I were to name, well I'd just be wasting endless amounts of space. My iPod is too small for it all.

Oh yes I must agree, music is phenomenal. I actually play quite a few instruments and am pretty good at two of them. Like a ton of you, I like almost all music, from classical to some techno to very little rap. However, I'm proud to say that I at least like 5 songs from even techno, opera and rap

.
Lauren, I love classic rock as well! I also love any oldies really from the late 50s onward. I especially love busting out the Lead. Oh and Lauren, I see you've mentioned Kenny Chesney on your list. Not trying to brag, but I thought it'd be a fun thing to tell you, but I actually know Kenny Chesney pretty well. He owns a house near my fathers in St. John, USVI (which is where he got married)

. But yeah, some of my favs are:
Lead Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Eric Clapton
Kenny Chesney
Van Morrison
Counting Crows
Queen (Wayne's World intro scene

)
Bob Marley
The Eagles
The Beatles
Elton John
There's a ton more but I'll spare you

The greatest song in the world is Sandstorm. It is a techno song and no I am not a fan of techno besides this song. This is our track team song. At districts we played this on an ipod dock non-stop and people started throwing stuff at us and one team came and stole our ipod dock. About ten kids from our team (including me) went to get it back and they gave it back without batteries so I had my mom bring some up because she was already on her way and we played it the rest of the track meet. On our version there is a short pause and so we go awwh it's over and then after it starts up again we go I thought it was over or it is coming back. We wanted to put "You can't stop the sand" on our track t-shirts and that made our coach even more than when we wanted to put "Some try. we don't. Some care, we don't." on our shirts.
My friend has a 45 minute version and I am going to get that sometime soon for school drives.

Classical-wise (I play piano so yeah, that's why I'm pretty much in love with Classical Music) ...
Chopin - All of his scherzos and ballades!
Debussey - His etudes (works before he died - a masterpiece!) Also, reaves.teffany - I'm surprised that you Debussey! Whoo! Clair de lune is an amazing prelude, though it's overplayed enough by classical musicians, then in Twilight it became a huge thing - can't get away from it (just kidding)
Beethoven

Ginastera - contemporary! Love his stuff.

David Archuleta
Backstreet Boys

Chris Brown
Rihanna
Westlife

Blue October, Jpop, Debussy, Yiruma, the piano duet in the Corpse Bride

, Cute is What We Aim For, Dido (White Flag), Feltbeats!!!, A Fine Frenzy, The Fray, Gavin Degraw (Belief), HP Soundtrack..., Hellogoodbye (Here), Hope, Jessica Riddle (Gone), Katy Perry (she has very interesting songs), Marianas Trench (Shaketramp), Metro Station, My Chemical Romance, Oasis, Rihanna, Sara Bareilles (Love Song), and yeah I think that's it!

I listen to the stuff they play on the radio, mostly. Although, I can't stand rap songs and I'm a not a big country fan. My favorite artist is
David Cook. I just thinks he's amazing. He has great vocals, writes good songs, and just makes good music. He doesn't have a current album out right now, but it should be coming sometime in December. But, in 2006, he self-released an album that he wrote, played all the instruments for, and sang all the vocals. Its called Analog Heart.
I also love the song Crush by David Archuleta. I was never a huge fan of him and then I heard the single and I loved it. Now I'm a fan, haha.
I also have Daughtry, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, P!nk, OneRepubic, Boys Like Girls, Elliot Yamin, Lifehouse, Nickelback, and a lot of other bands/singer people on my iPod. I like the Beatles and some of The Police's songs. I also like Weird Al.

I love Weird Al too!

So amazing. I love White and Nerdy.
I like Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Madonna, Rhianna and on my mp3 player I love listening to my Sweeney Todd songs(they're on my mp3 player because my family can't stand so many songs about revenge.

) . I can't stand country, and heavy metal isn't my thing.

Aug 28 2008, 07:02 PM
Well, it
used to be that I just liked heavy metal and rock bands and songs. Especially bands like: KoRn, Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Taproot, Type O Negative, Coheed and Cambria, Paramore, Evanescence, etc. etc., the list goes on.
But THEN I spent most of the summer at my friend Stephanie's house and she listens to everything. Which is how I got introduced to Katy Perry (I

her song "I Kissed a Girl!"), Pink, Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown (especially the song they duet, "No Air"), and a bunch of other pop songs and bands. So now I'm almost ashamed to admit I like pop music!

I also really like songs from musicals. At the moment, I adore all the songs from Moulin Rouge. Of course, that might be because most of them are love songs and I'm in my little lovey-dovey adoration state at the moment...*giggles* Or songs from the movie Music and Lyrics, like "Buddha's Delight," "PoP Goes My Heart," and "Way Back Into Love."
Yeah, in general, I end up liking specific songs, maybe not so much the artist.

Clair de Lune- Debussy
Symphony No. 9- Beethoven
Minuet by Bach
Fur Elise- Beethoven

I love all music, but I really enjoy listening to music that just makes you want to move around and gets you pumped up. I really like Rihanna I think sh ehas a lot of good upbeat music. My number oen most played is "Crush" by David Archuleta, I just love the lyrics and it has a good beat to it too. I think what makes a song is a really good chorus. That is what will always get me hooked on a song is if it has a catchy chorus that i never get tired of.

I don't care for a lot of rock, rap, or anything like that. I will to dance to and stuff, but nothing too hard. I don't care for a lot of the current pop today either.

I couldn't live without music! I like a lot of different styles, but more random songs that artists. My favourite band ever will be U2; my favourite album (because I like each and everyone of the songs) is Back to Bedlam, by James Blunt; and I like some songs by:
Coldplay;
Oasis;
Stone Sour;
The Outfield (

);
Secondhand Serenade;
Acceptance;
3 Doors Down;
Jet;
Counting Crows;
Goo Goo Dolls;
Maroon 5;
REM;
Radiohead;
The Whomping Willows;
and 80's songs.
I love fitting everything into songs, change the lyrics, and listen to certain songs in certain places or situations. I wish I could play the guitar and wasn't so shy to join a band!

Dessi, don't be shy to join a band! I played in numerous orchestras for years and they were some of the best times in my life. It's really great fun to play as part of a group, much more interesting and fun than solo because you are contributing to something bigger than what you as one person could achieve.
Alos, I see you like a few of these english bands such as Oasis and Coldplay, I would recommend Muse particularly for Coldplay fans.

I absolutely love to hear Demi Lovato. Whenever I hear her, I know that she's had such great success in such little time, and it gives me the confidence that I can do the same. Although that's a HUGE blessing from God, and I can't do it alone, I do have plans for myself and I believe that I can do it. Her song, Believe In Me has given me self confidence that I haven't had in more than 2 years, and I only listened to it 3 or 4 times for it to really get to me. Jordin Sparks is great too.
On another note, I am starting to like Miley Cyrus a little bit. Fly On The Wall is amazingly fun to party and dance to with my friend. Goodbye is just so sad, but it's a GREAT song. But, I also like the Jonas Brothers!!! Who doesn't?? They are amazing guys... and they're all soo cuuuteee!!! Especially Kevin!! Anyways... but those are who I listen to. And it's awesome.
JOURNEY!!!! my absolute favorite band!!! Guns N Roses, Skillet, Flyleaf, Lifehouse... things like that. Anything that's on Guitar Hero, pretty much.

I like pretty much any music besides oldies, rap, country, and opera. Even though I don't like opera, my favorite movie is Phantom of the Opera. But when I say I don't like opera, I mean the annoying kind. Not the pretty kind in PtO.
Has anybody heard of a little girl named Emily Bear? She is a child prodigy piano player. And you have to look her up on Youtube or something. She is the most amazing thing you will ever see. She started composing songs when she was only three years old. She's written over 126 songs. She's only seven or eight, I think. You have to check her out though. I can't even say and explain how amazing and completely gifted she is.

Ok so I just got back from the Cologne Carnival which is the best carnival in the world. And there is always music, a lot of music.
In the Rosenmontag parade there are lots of military style music groups which perform but there are lots of bands dedicated soley to the carnival. For example there are De Höhner who wrote the son Viva Colonia which ended up as the national anthem of Cologn:
Et Kölsche LiedIt's a really fabulous song and really sums up the meaning of carnival which for the Kölsche is as important as any other holiday.

I have so many bands I just love! The top of the list would be the Fray, for those who know their music you probably will have recognized my user name as the title as one of their hit songs. Also, I love Linkin Park, Lifehouse, Boys Like Girls, etc.

I recently got serious with listening to music, so I actually can post in here now.
I really like Linkin Park. Nothing specific. Just everything in general. I also like the Fray, though I feel that their songs are getting a bit more similar recently.
Does anyone here still listen to Evanescense? I think they broke up a few years ago, but I just listened to the CD my parents had about a month ago. I usually don't get into the whole metal thing, but I just got hooked to that whole dark vibe.
Paramore. They have some pretty good songs, like crushcrushcrush, Decode, and That's What You Get. And their music videos are so strange, but in a good way. I love their lead singer's hair. My sister was playing Rock Band 2 and it said that she has dyed her hair so many times that she doesn't remember the original color.

I like alot of bands but some of my favourites would have to be Pink, the Fray and the Goo Goo Dolls. I also like the Beatles because you can't go wrong with the classics! Theory of a Deadman and Matchbox Twenty are awesome too. I love to just sing their songs whenever I hear them on the radio! I like to sing in the shower too

oops, just ignore that last comment...
