Ok, I'd like to use this to talk about your taste in music.

My personal preference is rock mainly...Metallica, Guns n' Roses, Nirvana, Good Charlotte, I could go on forever...

I would also like to talk about a newer group that not everyone has heard of. I like the group Velvet Revolver which has three members from Guns n' Roses. They're mainly rockish but have a hint of Guns n' Roses. If you like them or have heard some of their music, I would love to know Im not the only one in the world who likes them. luckyducky_2008@hotmail.com
doomed_renascence
My interests also mainly rock, but there are a few exceptions.

I'm a huge fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Weezer, Sugarcult, The Strokes, Yellowcard, Audioslave, Jimmy Eat World, Coldplay, The White Stripes, Sugar Ray, Rooney, the Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox Twenty, Lifehouse, Green Day, the Hives and more.

I like some songs by other bands, but only like one or two:

Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, the Killers, Hoobastank (before the reason), Vertical Horizon, 3 Doors Down (before their newest album), the Ataris, The Calling, Orgy, Lenny Kravitz, Dashboard Confessional, AFI, Nine Days, the Darkness, Switchfoot (but i abhor Meant to Live, sorry), Breaking Benjamin, Trapt, Chevelle, Brand New, Coheed and Cambria, Lostphophets, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maroon 5, and a lot more that I cant think of right now lol.

Some exceptions are Backstreet Boys, Emenim, Madonna (80's and early 90's madonna), DJ Sammy, Avril (her first album, and My Happy Ending), and some rap artists...heh.

I know, such an odd taste in music right? oh well smile.gif

Ok, I LOVE a variety of music -- so don't kill me! I mostly look for songs that have meaningful lyrics.. with the exception of some artists out there!

My favorites:

JoJo *my new favorite*
Christina Aguilera
Jessica Simpson
Ashlee Simpson
Yellowcard
Simple Plan
The Ataris (some)
Ryan Cabrera
3 Doors Down
Billy Gilman
Switchfoot
The Sex Pistols
Kelly Clarkson

I like SOME hip-hop... but (please don't kill me hip-hop LOVERS) -- most of their songs are about girls, money, cars, bling, etc... I said SOME, not ALL. Don't say it's a general stereotype because just look at the proof in front of you.. that's just my opinion.. no offense to anyone! dry.gif

//Edit: Hehe, I just realized that I typed hip-hip up there ^^. Just had to fix it..don't wanna double post!//
Padfoot4Ever
I like Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, Hoobastank, Simple Plan, Switchfoot, and Yellowcard. Those are a few.
taks
I just usuallyu turn up whatevers on the radio really loud although i do like some old stuff (like the Beach Boys) and my friends is getting me into Maroon 5.
Yeah...im strange when it comes to music
LuciusMalfoy
I love oldies and Maroon 5, they rock!

I'm a big fan of mellow type music, you know stuff that's soft with really good lyrics. I LOVE John Mayer!

I also like Rock. Disturbed, System of a Down, Korn, etc...

Country too, love my country, I grew up on it.

I also like pop, punk-pop, hip hop, r&b...just about anything!

Oh and I LOVE the Eagles and BJ Thomas, and a lot of those older kind of bands. 80s music really good too.

Okay! I like it all. There's not much I don't like.
MimolaChuck
i like some R&B/hip-hop too. SOME.
ones that i dont like are...50 cent, ludacris, llyod banks, or any other persons whos lyrics include b*tches, wh*res, money, rims.
why? because they put out the message that all that matters in life is having tons of girls, money, and a nice car.
no. although, i do like to make fun of them, you know, put a song on and rap along with it. as a joke.
what i do like, is usher, kanye west, etc.
why? because they sing/rap about stuff that matters to people. like ushers new song, its about how he messed up by getting a girl pregnant and having to tell his girlfriend and so on. and kanye west, his songs about his life when his mouth was wired, or singing about jesus.
those things, send a message to people.
i think.
aleja23
I like to hear yellowcard, The starting line, coldplay, simple plan, and bands like that!
And I agree with you about the R&B style, and they only talk abput money and all that!, anyway some songs are great, I like Usher, and the new song confessions II, altough I like different kind of music too, I can´t mention all of them, cause I have a big variety.
Evil-Lena
I like Loud music, metal, trash metal, deep garage, punk, rock, emo, ect............
The bands i listen to are: Bad religion, dead kennedy's slayer ect
Mustang_Kapri
The Offspring are my all time favorite band. Some others I like are Brand New, Rancid, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, All American Rejects, Maroon 5, New Found Glory, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Jet, Bowling for Soup, Mest, and Queen. There's more, I just can't think of them right now. lol.
eedoe
My musical tastes are all across the board from Rock to Big Band. Celtic to Pop, Country to Classical.

Music helps mold my mood and my writing. It can help me focus on a particular scene or soothe the stress of the day.

I couldn't imagine my life without music, and out of the five senses, I would give up all others before my hearing, because music means that much to me.

I was lucky enough to have recently discovered, Loreena McKennitt. To describe her as awe inspiring would probably be an understatement. Her music is mostly considered Celtic and is absolutely beautiful and timeless.
joeshmoe1228
I'm so eclectic when it comes to listenting to music that it scares me.

Sometimes I go for some rap, especially Jay-Z. Then we go to Usher and Alicia Keys as they sing their R&B. Then I listen to Maroon 5, Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, The Ataris, Rooney, and other bands. Sometimes I listen to some pop like from Clay Aiken.

Then I might listen to classical or some song form a Broadway musical.

Usually the lyrics matter the most to me.

RG's Babe
I like Matchbook Romance the best but i'll listen to Jessica Simpson or Raven occasionally tongue.gif

Souljacker
I love more or less anything and everything when it comes to music. Pop, punk (which has its origins in Northern Ireland by the way tongue.gif) rock etc.

The first real album I ever bought was Blurs: Parklife (which now refuses to play owing the amount of use its got) and from there I really got into all the other Inde britpop’que’ bands out there like Garbage, Pulp and The Stone Roses .
For me the Lyrics are nearly always the most important thing in a piece of music, as such I'm not the biggest fan of dance music, especially ‘mixs’ which appear to just mix up the base and rhythm of an old song add a monotonous backing track and away you go its in the charts blink.gif . Its just appears like a slightly lazy way of making a song to me.

I absolutely love songs which tell a wee story like Blurs 'Bad head' or ones which attempt at relaying a message to the listener (eels Ant farm) or are comical like The Smiths: 'I started something I couldn't finish.'

Music is an art, which has at its centre lyrics IMHO. Melodies add to songs, but for me they will always be secondary to the lyrics and as such should not hinder good lyrics in any way, by being so loud that you can’t hear the lyrics.

This could by the way be all be because I’m probably tone death or that I love singing along to songs (much to the detest to anyone close by tongue.gif ) But I’m just not really a big fan of lyricless music, including much classical music.

How Could you not like Dance?? I Love Dance, Techno, Club anthems, and i think the Mizes are great! (I generally think beyond the words and listen more to the beat on mixes) (smile.gif) My faviroutes are: (not in order)

JD smile.gif biggrin.gif
MimolaChuck
i love music that includes someone screaming their lungs out.
why? i really don't know, it's so powerful to me. and it makes me feel jelly inside, yes, it's weird, i know.
Ygraine
Oh i comletely agree with Souljacker, The lyrics are much more important than the actual song, although i love really random songs, like Kaiser Chiefs i predict a riot, because half the fun is deciefing (sp) the words. I love Weird Al Yankovic to because it is so funny!

Yeah, don't like Dance at all. Love my lyrics too much. Although i do like some talented music with no lyrics too. biggrin.gif
Jordan94
Evil son of a dry.gif not liking dance..

Think beyond the Music, into the tune, but dont get me wrong, i like lyrics and i am really random, and i do like rock occasionally.

oh FINALLY another person who likes the Beatles! I thought I was the only one below the age of 45 who did blink.gif

And Esrb too likes the Beatles and the Ramones! Wahoo! tongue.gif We've got some good oldies fans around here! biggrin.gif

My current obsession (I have one like every week) is probably Revolution. But I like Experimental Film and I love My Generation. And I watched Too Sir With Love a month ago, and now I've downloaded the song. (It's very good!) Anyway, they were playing it in Walgreens and I was ecstatic!! (They NEVER play good songs in drugstores) happy.gif I couldn't help but hum along.

the only question I'd like to know is if anyone else knows about them? I'll betcha only about five other kids in seventh grade at my school do. (Our generation is so very sad...not appreciating good music like that dry.gif )
Esrb99
Oldie's mostly rock, as much of it had a passion that about 85% of today's music (When you use 50 variations of the line, 'I wana !v@# with you', you know music sucks)

However, me, I LOVE the 80's hardcore/Punk Scene, and the 90's grunge, indie, and EMO!!!! (real emo, today, people call emo Crap, becasue they say emo is anything like GC, and they are WRONG!!! Emo is SO MUCH MORE.... *Will rant about emo another time*)

Really, I will listen to ANYTHING!!!

Screamo, Metal, Acoustic, alternative, mainstream, anything as long as it has a pure lyrical foundation and passion can be found in it.

Oh, and Techno. DJ Caffeine is the best!!!

- Thomas

sXe music rocks!!! (in other words, AFI, my favoritest band ever!!!!)
Accio Xbox
Well, I listen to mostly punk, pop-punk, emo, and rock. I really like MxPx, they are my favorite band. If you get a chance, pick up their new album "Panic".
