Hey everybody, if this topic has already been done please forgive me, this is my first time.
If any of you had the opportunity to become a teacher of
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry What subject would you teach?
I know for sure that I would love to teach DADA because it is an action packed class (not if Prof. Umbridge is teaching....) and I find it is very important to be able to defend yourself against enemies.
So how about you guys? What subject would you teach and why?
Thanks.

I would teach Charms probably because there is such a useful variety of spells. DADA would be cool too, though, because it would be useful after leaving Hogwarts.

I'd teach Potions. So many cool things can be done by brewing one. In effect their better then spells.......if you can conceal them. Plus! They can help people.........like Lupin........the Wolfsbane helps him........of that Skelegro stuff that made Harry's bones re-grow, that's pretty cool. Yeah, I'd teach potions.

decisions decisions!
i actually plan on becoming a teacher (albeit a primary[grade school] teacher) so i couldn't resist stopping by here.
hmmm. well, i loved ancient history at high school, so i could teach history of magic. i'd make it so much more interesting than poor old professor binns does.
i also reckon charms would be an awesome subject to teach. it's so usefull, and methodistic (i'm a **** for formula and instruction..."swish and flick" anyone?)
i could even to potions, that would be sweet. i love hands-on type stuff, and again, wonderful formula to follow, but still room for creativity (even if i did drop chemistry in senior year)
yeah. it'd be out of those. don't reckon i could pick. maybe i could be a substitute, and fill in for teachers when they are called away on urgent business. yeah. that'd be cool. then i'd get to do a lot!

I'd love to teach potions, for the same reasons as Triad. They are so useful to so many people. I would also love to teach charms, as they're probably one of the most useful things, as that's where you learn most of your spells. I don't think I'd want to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, even though I think it'd be quite fun, because as we all know, those teachers only last one year, and I'd want to stay at Hogwarts forever, not just one year!

I would probably teach Potions or DADA. They seem like really interesting subjects. It would be really cool to see if I could break the curse of the DADA teachers too.

I would probably teach something terribly boring (or at least how it is taught at present), History of Magic or maybe Muggle Studies anyone?

I don't see myself as being a very good teacher at all,
especially with teenagers...
But everyone else's choices are so interesting, we have several potential Potion Masters, and Charm, DADA teachers I see!

With my wonderful luck being what it is if I stood in front of a class and my name wasn't Professor Flitwick someone's eye is sure to be poked out without a doubt.

I would probably decide to move into the teaching field where I would teach either Care of Magical Creatures or I wouldn't mind teaching flying lessons!..."stand next to your broom and say'UP'!"...

Well, I *ehem* used to run a quiz on just this -- "Which Hogwarts Teacher Would You Be?" Although the quiz was much different than this question -- its results tell you what teacher you are most like, not what subject you would teach -- I gave myself the test and results. I chose Flitwick. I love the little man: he is wise, used to be a great duelling champion, and just cracks me up!
Although my quiz results came up as Hogwarts' Professor of Charms, I believe that I would be best suited to teach Transfiguartion. I am definitely most interested in this subject of all of those available at Hogwarts. Plus, my animagus is a chameleon -- does that speak for itself or what!? I, physically as well as emotionally, am able to adapt to different and difficult situations. Therefore, if I were a wizard, I believe I would be an exceptional animagi and metamorphmagi.
Hey, now you are getting me all excited!!

Hiya,
Firstly, I like most of the subjects at Hogwarts but my favourite is Defense Against Dark Arts (DADA.)
I would love to teach it and I find it pretty much simpler than other subjects such as Charms and Potions.
Care of Magical Creatures would be also good for me because im quite careful with animals but the subject itself..i have no wish to teach it
Then theres Transfiguration which i really love and i would be quite strict too just like Mcgonagall..ermm Transiguration isnt very simple but im the kind that would like it.
P.S No-one has yet mentioned Divination..im sure i would hate it to death.
Thanks,
V.H

I would definitely teach DADA!

That is my favorite magical subject and I would want to teach students how to defend themselves.

As far as being a student in a course, I would definitely choose DADA. It is my favorite subject throughout the series, and I think it would be the most fun to learn.
Teaching though, I would have to say Divination, because I could be lazy and just bullcrap my way through it! (Yeah, I'm one of
those)

Out of the subjects at hogwarts, Transfiguration, DADA, Charms and Herbology are my favorite, but as for teaching, I would love to teach Care of Magical Creatures because of my love for annimals and dealing with the most eccentric creatures known to man (or wizard).

I will be a teacher of Charm. I really like the subject and it's so cute... I like DADA, the subject itself but not to be a pofessor of this one because for sure, I'll not be a permanent one.

I would probably teach either herbology or divination. but not in an old fraud way for divination..lol I think Herbology would be interesting and a fun job. i think DADA would be too depresing to learn about how to stop yourself from being killed.....as for divination if i could master it i think it would come in handy alot

I would love to teach Charms. Charms and Transfiguration are my favourite subjects and they´re so cool. I would teach Charms bacuse it is a fun subject were you learn loads of cool spells like Accio or Silencio, and Wingardium Leviosa. The book portray Charms as a really fun and interesting class so I would love to teach it.

Hey guys!
I think I'd like to teach charms or DADA because I#m much more interested in usingspells than in making potions or telling students about magical hitory. Sounds really boring like Bins does it.

if i could be a teacher i would like to teach DADA. I chose DADA because it would be soo neat to learn the different evil creatures and different spell then you would learn in other classes.

I noticed someone a while back mentioned History of Magic. That's what I'd want to teach just because I love history so much and the kids could use some fresh blood (or living blood for that matter). But seeing that Binn wil never relinquish the job and I like the sky so much (plus all the teachers far surpass me in their subject) I'll say Astronomy. I love watching the sky so I'm sure I can make the kids love it too. I hope.

I think that teaching transfiguration would be best cause it is my favorite subject.
I wouldnt like to teach Defense against the Dark Arts because the job is cursed and I dont want to die.
History of Magic or divination would be the least fun of all of them.

Jun 6 2006, 02:34 AM
Ooo, Defense Against the Dark Arts! It seems like it would always keep you on yours toes and you'd teach students how to do just that. It would be
so cool teaching about all the dangerous things out there and how you can avoid them, where they are, etc. Plus, there are so many varieties of the Dark Arts, you'd never have a boring day in class, would you?

i would love to teach flying, out of all the classes that is most like sport and i love sport (to an extent) i am just really bummed out because there is a magical class to represent almost all non-magical classes, flying-sport, care of magical creatures-aggriculture, potions-science (chem), history of magic-history, tranfiguration-maths (all the formulars you need to learn). but there isnt a subject for the creative minds, i would love to teach a subject like magical art or magical music or magical drama, something like that...
i supose divination is for the creative minds...making up dreams and visions and things..maybe i would be a divination teacher..and its got drama..the way trawlany caomes out of the shadows is dramatic...ok thatssettled i am the new divination teacher!:D

I would want to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. It seems like the most interesting subject to me, and I would love to be involved in that sort of energy. It is the most risky subject, and would be a total blast! Of course tond of people want to be the DADA teacher, so I'd be up agaisnt a lot of 'em!

I would want toi teach Transfiguration because it sounds really intresting and I would also love to teach flying class!
I think History of magic and Divination just wouldn't do it for me, I would fall asleep in my own lessons!

Nice little question....
Probably, I'd love to teach DADA. It's a multiversatile subject, you get to practice all kinds of magical disciplines. And it's definitely interesting, because it doesn't block out the dark side of magic, without using it, though. So you get to see the greater picture (or get close to it). Plus, I simply love magical combat, or the thought of it. It's much more elegant and brainy than bludgeoning people's faces....

I would like DADA

.
I think its the most interesting (for me) subject, you can learn all kind of spells, mostly dangerous, how to block them,... and so on. Its cool. And, of course, you really have to know magic and understand it to teach DADA.

It would definately be Charms. All those handy little spells to get you out of tricky situations. Ofcourse if I were the Teacher I'd know every single one of them that was ever thought up.
Although I do quite like the idea of being able to brew up some wickedly good potions as well!

is i got a job at Hogwarts (which would be amzing haha) but back on subject i think i would teach Defense against dark arts. because i like defeating the dark arts and Moody is awesome it would be cool to be a second moody and teach dada. either that or quidditch because well that is just an amazing game.

I would love to teach History of Magic.
It's been unpopular but even Harry once said that History of Magic could be interesting if it wasn't being taught by Professor Binns.
I'm a HSC 3-unit Ancient History student. I love history because so much can be learnt from the past. So History of Magic, think of all the Goblin Rebellions!!

I think I'd agree with Fall_out_Girl. I'd love to teach charms. It seems much more fun to be learning spells and using them then listening to a history of magic teacher (sorry makemeinvisible!)

I would love to teach History of Magic. I always enjoyed history back at school and when I read about the History of Magic in Harry Potter I walways feel like it could be really interesting if somebody with a real passion for it would be teaching.. I mean things like the Giant's war,... sound so fascinating!!!! It's just a shame that in the books the teacher (Professor Binn) doesn't really care wether the students are listening or not...

I would either teach Charms or DADA. Charms because I love all the spells you do in there and DADA because it's so exciting.
