I definately have to say the piano. I love a bunch of other instruments too, but piano is my favorite!
MoonLight
I LOVE the bassguitar! it's such a cool instrument.. I've played the violin for almost 4 years, that's a nice instrument too. And the piano..

My favorites are the piano, the violin and the cello. I voted for the cello, however, because I have played the cello since I was eight years old. I played in a local youth symphony a few years ago that gave me the opportunity to go on a tour of Southern Germany and Austria (that was unbelievably fun). I used to participate in school orchestras as well.

I can play the piano too, but it's never been as much of an interest to me.

Bass, been playing for about 10 years now biggrin.gif

I love many, many musical instruments, but seeing as I have been playing the cello since I was ten years old, it is by far my favorite. I love all string instruments for the beautiful sound they create.

Aside from string instruments, I absolutely appreciate the ROCK instruments! Electric guitar, bass, etc.

Music truly is a huge part of my life. I'm in love with it.

I think I accidentaly voted Cello, but I meant Clarinet. I've been playing for almost four years now, and I even was in All County once (The best musicians in a county get together and play music. It was AWESOME!), and I played in the band and jazz band. My Clarinet is named Moe - rolleyes.gif don't ask - and he has been in my family since my twenty-year-old sister played, and she got it at a yard sale, so we have no idea how old he is. Recently, I have gotten into the sound of the Saxophone, but Clarinet remains on top.

Harps are, in my opinion, the most beautiful sounding and looking string instruments. No such luck finding lessons. sad.gif

I'm also pretty good at singing, and I love it. I was in all county chorus, too, and, again, it was amazing. Music is soo important in my family. I don't think I've gone a single day without singing. Unless I had a sore throat. happy.gif

I think all the instruments are great to play. My favorite though, is the piano. I love listening to the piano. I used to play it a lot, but I haven't played it in a while. I like the violin too.

Having a job rocks, just ordered this beast:

Not sure what tunings to use yet, but we'll see which sounds the best biggrin.gif

Only problem now is getting a new guitar stand .. but I barely have enough money for a bus ride after getting that ... £1,665.48 so about $3,320, something like that?

My favourite instrument is the guitar, I play it. The great thing is that it produces perhaps more styles and sounds than any other instrument, you can never learn all there is to learn with the guitar.

My girlfriend plays piano though, she's played since pre-teen and is pretty amazing at it in my opinion, it's a beautiful instrument.
browneyedgirl
i have too many favourites.
i love playing the piano, and the guitar..but i want to learn how to play the drums..and i love singing.

I can play quite a few instruments and I think I've posted here before but oh well! My favorite instrument is the piano. We recently accuired an electric piano/organ thing and it has all sorts of buttons and pretty lights! But that's not the reason why I love it. I'm not sure but maybe it's because you can just about play any song on it. So cool.

Even though I couldn't choose between guitars and drums, I picked drums. Guitars are too common, I mean, even here they're most voted for. sleep.gif
I like 'different'. I picked drums. wink.gif

I picked piano. But I have to say that I can't play any musical instruments. I only love piano because of a boy in my school. He is just brilliant at playing the piano. And once he played just for me. wub.gif Unfortunately he left school this year. I won't see him anymore. He lives far away from me. unsure.gif But it's a beautifull memory.
hot-for-harry
My favorite is the piano. I just love the way it sounds, and you can play so many songs on it, and they all sound beautiful. Please, there is absolutely no chance you can squeak on the piano, like you can for some woodwind and brass instruments. happy.gif
Snapefan21
I like both piano and flute. And not because I play them. On piano, you can play really angry music, i.e. Epiphany from Sweeney Todd. And it does sound mad. The piano plays in both Treble and Bass Clef, so you can play any sheet music there is.
The flute is so beautiful and light, it sounds like a bird. Tweet Tweet. smile.gif. You can play really happy music, and it goes great with the violin.
Oh yes, I also love the violin. It's so lovely and passionate. It sounds determind. I love it.

Okay, I hope all these emotion-relations made sence.

I am passionate about electric guitars (i play in a band). I just love the sound and the thrill of playing one. I am also passionate about singing (i also sing in the band).
honey~pie
Piano!!!

I used to play the Recorder but it got sooo boring so my and my friend quit smile.gif
And i SO want to learn to play the Guitar!! ooo i can imagine me in concerts, playing the background music with a famous singer (Avril Lavigneee).. lol
harry potter freak
That is what i imagine too, Honey~pie! Only, my band will definatly be doing gigs (we have connections). It's amasing to be in a band. I'm the singer in the band as well. wink.gif
Amyrat151
Piano, I guess. I think it's really cool how it can evoke all ranges of emotion.

I love piano and violin. I really like the way it sounds, especially if it is just piano or just violin!

I know how to play piano though, I've played for about 8 years, but unfortunatly I have given it less priority, so I haven't really played that much this last year, but I'll pick it up.

I tried to learn to play guitar, but it was an epic failure.. I don't think I'll try it again.

I voted piano; my favorite musical instrument. I have played the piano for as long as I can remember. I used to take lessons, but know I just play for fun. I can usually figure out how to play a tune on the piano without having the notes for it. Just last week I figured out how to play the HP theme on it!

I used to play the clarinet, but I stopped taking band after I switched schools. It was pretty fun, and I still remember how to play it, though not so well, as it was two years ago.

I found I could not choose a favourite specifically. The guitar and piano are the two catagories I most enjoy to both listen to and watch being played.

I definitely prefer singer/songwriters with the ability to play both skillfully. Hence, my avatar!
Pearl the Barrister
1/2 and 1/2 clarinet and trumpet. They're both so K.A. I can't decide.
DeSs
I picked piano, because I love it to play, despite I don't play. I have an electric piano (that now I barely use because ... I don't know why, I need something to connect it) and I used to play simple melodies and catch some by listening, but I would have loved learning a bit of piano. I've also tried for a year with guitar, but only at school, but I think it was more difficult (that was only because I played piano with only one hand, and now I know playing piano is more difficult). But for songs, I love guitars as well as basses, they're great!
fawkes_the phoenix3
I play alot of instruments so i chose other, I think my instrument palooza started when i was 5 and in kindergarten and i asked my mom if i could play piano. She sorta blew me off and thought it was a phase but i was presistent i played my plastic recorder and crappy harmonica and those dinky little keyboard toys for babys to whatever tune i could think of.
Then it clicked to myt parent that i was serious about it so they found me a teacher and for christmas/birthday got me my beloved piano which i still own to date. So i played piano for about two year till i was 7. but i didnt that good cause i was still just mastering notes and staffs and rhythms and i got bored so i quit but i would still play easy christmas songs all year round. Then a few years later i picked up clarinet for the school band. and i picked up piano again. Then in 6th/7th grade i picked up the alto saxaphone for the school jazzband. and i can play blues harmonica. and yeah thats my instrument story. I play in jazz band, concertband, and marching band

I started Violin in the 5th grade, but I don't play much of it anymore. I started Guitar last year and I think I'm progressing really well. smile.gif
I'm going to take piano in a few months, that has always been my favorite instrument. I can't wait to try it out.
My dad told me that when he and all of his siblings were children, his mother made each of them play a different instrument. I thought that so cool! tongue.gif My dad was the one 'assigned' to violin...though none of them did get the piano... :]
cristipotter
I play the piano since I was seven years old. At first I didn't like it much, and I got to the point where I hated it a little, but my mom made me go to my piano lessons saying "you'll thank me later!!". Well, I actually thank her today, because I now love playing the piano.

I also tried playing the violin, but I started to do so too late in my life and I decided to just stick to the piano, because I was much better at it! happy.gif

I don’t play a musical instrument but my favourite is the piano. If I could learn an instrument then it would be the piano and in the past I did want to learn to play it too. I can’t really explain why its my favourite. My boyfriend plays the piano and his wrote a couple of beautiful pieces for me so that’s probably one reason its my favourite although I liked this instrument before I met him. It’s a stunning instrument able to convey so many different emotions. I love Michael Nyman‘s - The heart asks the pleasure first.

^ Yes, yes I do play the piano. tongue.gif.

I love playing my instrument, wouldn't trade it for any other, however I've liked the idea of playing Flute for a loooong time. Just something about it, I reckon it's 'cause of Concerning Hobbits. xD.
Piano wise. I'm grade 8 standard, and enjoy playing much Rachmaninoff and Liszt.
Axoria
Yes, I also voted piano! This is the most popular here? biggrin.gif
I played the piano for ten years, I loved it, especially when writing songs. It's so much different from that boring lessons, when you have to learn some piece which you don't like at all. Okay, it's not like that in most of the time, and especially in the last years, but composing is so much different from that! So enjoy music! tongue.gif

My favourite has to be the guitar. I started playing it two years ago and i have 3 of them in my home now-one classical, one acoustic, one electric. The reason why i like guitar (especially electric) is that you can basically bring the house down when you kick into over-drive. You can be really mad and there are a lot of things you can do about it: slide-ups, hammer-on, pull-offs etc. Many kinds of music such as blues and rock evolved from guitars and their different playing style. It is easy to carry, easy to learn, and sounds cool!

My favourite instrument is the organ, as it is very versatile yet extremely powerful and awe-inspiring. I am looking forwards to trading my own piano with an organ very soon:D
Pendulum
Had to go with singing. Probably because it involves, initially, the least work, and to a certain extent I believe that natural talent can take you further in singing than it can with any musical instrument - a lot of instruments require so much practice and dedication, whereas you can be amazing at singing without taking a lesson in your life, which you certainly can't do with an instrument!
