If you had to face a boggart what do you think it would turn into???
I don't know what mine would be! I'll have to think about it!

it'll probably turn into someone that i love dying.
but if it's something not that serious, then i guess the girl from the ring. GAHHHHHH...sorry, i'm a total chicken.

i know for a fact it'd be a dementor or the grim reaper.
tall dark hooded things. *shivers*
i was watching HP3 in IMAX, and when the dementors came on, oh my, i almost screamed. and it messed up my mind too, i felt cold and sad when they were on the screen!!!! i dunno what goes on in my head.

That's a hard thing to answer...
I'd either end up like Hermione and having one of my fav teachers handing me a failing grade, like Ron and have a spider or spiders, or Molly, with my loved ones dying...

It would be most probably seeing someone I love going through pain and I'm not able to do anything about it.

OH! I HAVE A BRILLIANT THOUGHT@
what if the thing you fear most, is a boggart?
then, you'd see what a boggart truly looks like, and you'd be one of 2 people in the world to know what it looks like! (moody knows too!)
SlytherinTaylor
Aug 25 2004, 04:40 AM
thats a good point. and theres many reasons to fear a boggart cause it shows your what you fear most! wow thats kinda confusing! Good thought!

Mine (like majority of yours) would prolly transform itself into a corpse of either myself or one of my loved ones.. *shudders*.
Good point Mimola, about being afraid of a boggart.. maybe that's how Moody knows how it looks.. he's afraid of one, I doubt it though.. he's so brave.

tashluvsdan, that makes ya think...what would moody see when he see a boggart?? Hes seems so brave what could it be? I mean everyone is scared of something wheater they know it or not but would it be harder for a braver person than for a not so brave person but then again a not so brave person would probably know what he/she fears most while it may be harder for a really brave person to know what they fear most. and how can people tell if its a boggart or reality for some fears.... sorry for my rambling but it just summin to think about.

A blown lightbulb that I have to change and a bunch of people yelling at me to do it....
Seriously, I am mortally afraid of changing lightbulbs...long sad story that involved me getting showered in broken glass, falling off a chair, and getting electrocuted, changing thre seperate lightbulbs in one day...>.< And yeah. The yelling. Cos blown lightbulbs, I can ignore and be in the dark quite happily....

I'm so terrified of everything so that's really hard. A loved one dying is possible, or perhaps a failing grade or a "You're not going to college" response would probably scare me out of my wits. I'm claustrophobic, afraid of getting run over by a train, and I despise Aragog. I'm also scared of drowning, changing lightbulbs (as well), Samara from the Ring, getting run over by a car, . . . .[and the list goes on]. I'm not exactly sure which one the boggart would pick.

Now, that was something....Right, what if you scared of so many things?? Which one would the boggart choose? It might get confused and not turn into something fearful in the end....and then, you get to defeat the boggart without even say the word 'Riddikulus!!'... *hehehe*
and yeah...I fear a lot of things too...failing exams, dying, someone I love dying, lizards, rats, snakes...and the list goes on and on....

I get incredibly scared when there are creepy crawly thingys in my room! I start yelling at my dad stuff like: "KILL IT! KILL IT! Ewww! AH! It
MOVED! DAD! MOM! PLEASE, get RID of this thing!"
But I get scared when I get home at like 7 in the winter and it's already dark. I get paranoid, really!
But I'm also afraid of ghosts,

.
Of course, the boggart could also tranform into people I love, dead. *shudders*

Death. A dream told me this long ago but I already knew it was my biggest fear. I'm also afraid of bees.

They invaded my room this summer and I got so scared, I slept in the other room with my little siblings for more than a month. But now I sleep in my own room and so far, 5 bees somehow got into my room. I suspect Voldemort's got something to do with this......

Mine, would turn into a wolf, or since it's HP a werewolf. Or a coyote I guess, but I'm more afraid of wolves. It has got to be one of the scariest things when you hear two howling on either side of you at dusk not very far off. *shudders* Talk about fight or flight. First you freeze then you start to run. You can't think. wow. so scary...

No....not a bad member....just a realistic one!!

We should have respect for the wolves....they
are pretty dangerous! Loveable and very cute, but dangerous!! Even beloved old Lupin acknowledges that.....

HAHAHA. That is so funny to me.

Second are spiders. I get completely absurd around those things.
And third are things like... the girl from The Ring. *shudder*

Another thing that completely freaks me out is like when some man just appears out of nowhere in horror films. Let me ellaborate... Like when you can feel someone behind you (

), but you turn around and no one's there... Then like a few seconds later, when you've just calmed down, you like see a man standing there out of the corner of you eye. AHHHHH! I can't even describe how much that scares me! I was watching that show LOST, on the last episode when he turns around and there's this guy with a hat standing there! I swear, I jumped a good three feet off my couch when that happened!

I think the monster in HP I fear the most is the Basilisk because I have a really big phobia of snakes but with the basilisk having the power of being able to kill you with just a look I think it makes it about 100 times scarier.
In my books the boggart comes a very close 2nd though because it can turn into your worst fear so it would probably turn into either a snake or the Basilisk lol.

ARAGOG!!!! I am deathly afraid of spiders. In fact, I couldn't watch that scene in the movie (or the one in LotR for that matter). I actually had to put CoS down after reading that scene.

The thing I would probably most fear would be the unknown (although today I was chased by a little terrier dog which would probably also be high on my list

), but this could cover a wide range of things so I’m not sure how a Boggart would manifest it's self, to represent the unknown. I suppose it would depend on you current circumstances at a particular time. Like the Mirror of Erised, what a boggert shows could probably change with the person, who comes in contact with it.
The magical creature I would most fear would definitely be a Lethifold. (the creature which resembles a black cloak as it attacks you when you're sleeping) there’s very little you can do to repel it when it attacks you (unless you could manage to perform a Patronus while being suffocated!).
I think that would be particularly frightening, being helpless to defend your self.

the thing i would probably fear the most is jimmy angelo. i was watching a film called pracical magic when i was five and he was a ghost coming out of this womans body.and his black eyes and the music.uhhh.i am still terrified of it now but that might be cos i watched it again two week ago to try to conqer my fear. but it dint work it just made it worst. my second fear would be traped in a dark place with know where to escape and will just suffocate. like yvonne atkins in bad girls..... please will you guys give me some ideas how to conqer these fears i would be really gratefull. thanks.....

sorry this is reffering to this so late, but i was just reading the first page, and moody knows what a boggart looks like not because he's brave but because of his magical eye. his eye can see through whatever the boggart is in (i.e. wardrobe, desk draw...), and a boggart turns into what you fear when it sees you, and it cant see throught the object, so it doesnt see him.
