Well, I hope they keep that scene. It should be in the movie since Moaning Mrytle is in the movie and that's one of the like what 2 parts she's in the books? That one and when he's in the lake right? Well, anyway, I hope that the scene is in the movie.

They should keep it but they won't.
The 'deliberating over the egg' scenes were cut!!

I hope they put more Ron in this movie than they did in the 3rd one. It felt like he was hardly there at all.

Do you think they will have him swim in his robes for the second task? Or take off his shirt?
Louise
Aug 30 2004, 08:22 AM
Well, he stayed in his robes in the book, didn't he? 'Cos he was late getting to the task....but who knows? He'll probably take off his cloak, but he'll keep his shirt and trousers on, I would imagine...
**giggles** Can't really see Dan wearing speedos and goggles somehow....**tee hee** Not that I'd really want to anyway....seeing as how I'm **almost** old enough to be his mother!!

Oh, how I wish that he got into trouble in the water and Snape had to yank off all his robes and dive in to save him....Alan Rickman with his shirt off....Mmmm......now there's a thought....

The Yule Ball will be in the movie...just cut shorter...or at least that's what I read....
And oh my. Dan Radcliffe with his shirt off. Woo. Hoo. Awww, it's times like these I hate being too old to want to swoon...

*giggles madly* Alan Rickman with his shirt off? *ahem* That's not something I particularly want desperately to see either...Much as I adore Alan Rickman...I love him for his MIIIIIIND, not his likely rather skinny chest....

btw Tash, your Xanga's gorgeous and most impressively done...*grins*

It would be nice because I liked that scene and I have to admit seeing Dan shirtless isn't to bad either. But for some reason I doubt they will keep that scene. I don't know why but they have to cut a lot out. I wouldn't mind sitting for a three or three and a half hour movie but they're not going to do that. SO this will probably be cut out.
EDIT:Yay I'm a second year. Man that took along time.
Nivaya
Sep 7 2004, 02:42 PM
Hey well done!!

I don't really think they SHOULD cut it out...I mean...part of the reason on the task, is finding out what the godawful wailing coming out of the egg is, it's like, showing they're not dumb also, so at very least I don't think it should just be like "Go fetch Ron now Harry"
But yeah, whether or not it'll take place in a bath...they might just make it that he falls into a puddle while carrying it, or something....

Well, I just liked the whole him being shy and stuff in front of Mrytle. That was cute how he got mad at her and she had to cover her eyes and stuff. Though I doubt they'll keep the scene it would still be nice if they didn't cut it out of the film.

Hey, post number 100!!!
LuciusMalfoy
Sep 21 2004, 08:41 PM
nuh uh, they are going to keep it, but they're just going to have a very small part of it. Maybe just the part with Hermione walking in with Viktor and maybe the Hagrid/Maxime part. But they are gonna have a little bit of the Yule Ball in there.
Padfoot4Ever
Sep 22 2004, 07:45 PM
Yea. At least we get a little of the Yule Ball. It's better than none of it. I wish they didn't have to cut a lot of the stuff out.

If you like the book so much who wouldn't sit for three hours? I know I would.
BTW Lucius Malfoy, I love your signature. Especially the one with Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort. I laugh at it everytime I see it. lol
i wouldnt mind if they left that scene in (dan is such a hotie!!) i dont think that they will though

oh well.

well, dana and others, I am old enough to be Dan's mother and even though it sounds really pervy to say, I wouldn't mind seeing the bath scene either. I mean, I'm sure most grown men would not mind seeing a cute 15 year old girl in a bathing suit or whatever. So even us old ladies like to see a cute guy. But the mother in me would probably tell him to be careful that he doesn't catch cold. That's the problem with being my age. I might try to be a little lusty, but then the mom in me kicks in.

Dan and Rupert are getting to be pretty cute though. It will make the movies even more fun to watch.
I assume that the lake scene will have him being fully clothed as it was described that way in the book.
Louise
Oct 11 2004, 07:46 PM
Yeah, you're probably right....but it's fun to imagine though, huh?!

Viktor Krum should be donning Bermudas though, so that should be worth a look....if the studio ever get around to releasing some pictures of that extremely elusive actor who's supposed to be playing him.
I still stand by my wish that Alan Rickman would whip his clothes off and dive in to save Harry though......
Hey, wishin' and hopin'
is still free, right?!
And I don't think age is ever a barrier to finding someone attractive....there's nothing pervy about that!!
Acting on it might be....

but then I doubt there's many 15 year old boys out there would say no to someone like Madonna, Nicole Kidman or Jennifer Lopez if they were ever to offer themselves...

Oct 11 2004, 10:13 PM
Well, I do think they are cute and I will readily admit it. I think Dan in particular comes off really well in interviews etc. He seems quite comfortable and seems to be able to show off his sense of Humor. Rupert, who is more overtly funny in the movies, seems less comfortable in the spotlight. He is so soft spoken in the interviews I have seen that it surprises me that he plays such a loud funny character. I guess it shows his acting skills that he pulls off Ron so well.
Dan seems more mature for his age and Emma, she is a cutie but seems very much the typical teenage girl.
About the Bath scene, does anyone know for sure if it was cut? I tend to think since Moaning Myrtle is back this time that maybe the bath scene is still in. I think it would be a good comic moment when Harry realizes she could be seeing him underwater. It would be fun to see Dan play that out. I think it could all be done tastefully and without the audience even really seeing him without his shirt. In the book it talked about their being bubbles in the bath didn't it? So the bubbles could cover him up. I don't mean to sound like I am opposed to seeing any cute guy without a shirt, but, I don't want seeing the actors shirtless to be the focus of the next few films.
There was already enough press this time (in the states at least) about them going through puberty and Emma developing etc. I am sort of afraid that if that kind of coverage continues, that it might be a reason for them to not do the whole series of films.
Besides, if I am going to see any of them shirtless or minus any clothes, I might prefer to wait until they are even older, ( you know, Legal) and maybe bring in some of the sexier fanfiction for H/Hr I have read. Now that would be fun!
Louise
Oct 11 2004, 10:24 PM
You read fanfic too??!! Wow, you rock!!!
Sorry...had a teenage-ish moment there....
But yeah, I agree with you...that's why I reckon there's such a market out there for an older HP series.....JKR's been talking about going back to each of the books and re-touching them once all 7 are finished and I've never understood that. Why would she want to waste her time doing that when she's already so successful?
I reckon there's a huge market out there if she ever wanted to write a more adult-themed series with the characters in the future. It would be a different road for her, aiming at a different age group, and would allow her the freedom to include more stuff like relationships, more mature themes....there's definitely a need for more magic/fantasy type books for adults. It would be great to see where the characters all are in ten years or so....
But then I guess that would be more satisfying for us as readers than for her as an author.
But, again, I'm drifting off topic.....sorry....
The point....yeah, I think they could use tastefully arranged bubbles. It would be more funny than risque I think....and I'd love to see Myrtle's reaction....

He has to go underwater, doesn't he? How else is he gonna hear the merpeople's song?

yeah, I read fanfic. I have just gotten in to it so if you have good recommendations let me know. I like H/Hr stuff, but am not opposed to reading other stuff.
I don't have my copy of GoF handy right now so I may be wrong, but doesn't Harry go into the prefect bathroom twice? I don't think he gets wet both times, but I seem to remember him going in there a second time to see if he gets a clue about how to survive under water.
I was thinking about the 2nd task and wondering how they will do the gills that he grows when he eats the gillyweed. I think that will look really weird.
On Danradcliffe.co.uk there is a recorded interview with Dan where he talks about having taken scuba lessons for the 2nd task and also talks about the 3rd task. The way he describes the 3rd task sounds really cool. It is different than the book, but sounds like a neat way to deal with it.

Well....you could try mine, if you like Sirius, Snape and Lupin....

(Links's in my sig) I always welcome feedback 'coz I'm trying to write a book myself right now and I dabble a bit with fanfic for some practise so.....

'HP and the Paradigm of Uncertainty' is very good is you like H/Hr, as well as the follow-up, 'The Show that Never Ends'. They're hosted on FictionAlley.com if you fancy checking them out......I've also posted a couple of links in the 'SPELL/Lupinland' thread in the Lounge to some amazing, exceptionally well-written fanfics based around Sirius or Lupin.
But I digress....yet again....
So Dan took scuba lessons?! Wow. Well, at least we know they're going to do justice to that bit then....let's hope it makes up for the depressing news that the Yule Ball is going to be so drastically cut....
I can't wait to see how they've done the final task though...

Yes, ever since I saw PS/SS I thought about how the movies would deal with the times where it cannot follow them as intimately as they usually manage.
There is a lot of censorship in movies that we never really find out about.
Like in Galaxy Quest (My new movie of the month!!) The whole script and plot was changed half way through so it wouldn't get a "R" rating.
That upsets me because Alan Rickman would've had a bigger part.
So I suppose it will be the same so a younger audience can watch it without their parents being too suspicious about it.
I'll be really quiet now!!
