So i discovered this band the other day by there myspace profile. They sing songs about Harry Potter lol. Ok so the music isn't the best (it's quite good though) but some of there lyrics are really funny! I especially like The Human Hosepipe ones about Harry and Cho's valentines date lol. So anyone heard of them?

I have heard of them, and they recently played in my town. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to go. I think they are okay, but the lyrics are pretty funny sometimes.
There is another band called Draco and the Malfoys who is better than Harry and the Potters a little bit. They also have a MySpace somewhere. I think their songs are really funny. There's also the Whomping Willows, but I haven't heard any of theirs.

I've heard one of their songs, Svae Ginny Weasley. I love them! I want to hear more of them. Does anyone know where I can get more of their songs? They are such a cool band and the lyrics are extremely funny! Never heard of Draco and the Malfoys though, they also sound pretty cool.

Oh my goodness, guys. I've limewired Harry and the Potters! They are horrendously --- funny. It's suicidally bad music, but it is hilarious, mostly because you keep wondering what sort of people use their time for writing songs like that!

Not recommended listening! If Jo heard this she might contemplate obliviating the world so that everyone forgot that there ever was such a thing as Harry Potter - and Harry and the Potters.

But then, I'm here day and night, so I can't judge them, can I?

Oh, Harry and the Potters are the best. The music is a bit... ehh... well, painful, to be perfectly frank... but that's not the point! The point is that they are amazing representatives of the HP fandom -- I wish I had any musical talent whatsoever so I could do something similar. It's so unique... other fandoms have fanfic and fan sites and all that, but we've got a fan band. Granted, I don't know if they make the best impression with non-fans... once I forced two of my friends to listen to some of the songs, and I thought they were going to end up suicidal. The lyrics are hilarious, though -- my favorite is a tie between "Save Ginny Weasley" and "The Human Hosepipe." I'm going to have to check out Draco and the Malfoys next weekend. Wizard Rock!

I love them! My friend Maggie introduced them to me this summer, but I thought they were horrible! I had only seen the Harry Potter movies then, though. In November, when I had finished all the Harry Potter books I tried listening to them again and fell in love.

I just recently stumbled across Draco and the Malfoys. I loved them instantly. I also like The Hermione Crookshanks Experience, The Whomping Willows, and The Remus Lupins.

My fav of all their songs is "Cornelius Fudge is an A**".....totally classic. I came across them a few months ago and just laughed. It's the kind of music you just bop your head to. Its so random. I dont know why a topic hasn't started earlier!

omgosh, finally solves my question. I thought i was going mad! I was downloading songs, then i decided to download some Harry POtter ones. Then this song came up call 'Gryffindor rocks' or sumfin like that. And when i was listening to the song, I started to laugh, caus there was a bit when it goes ' And there's no way that your gonna get that snitch from me!' It was soooo funny!

Hehe Harry and the Potter that's greatness. Actually I never knew about them until I came to this thread. I did know about the mudbloods and I think out of all the wizard rockers they have the best music hehe this is so cool. I would love to go to one of these just to scream the lyrics or dress up. The girls who sing for the Moaning Myrtles are really good too, they sound good and the lyrics are good too!

I was looking around and I saw all of there songs, and even though their aim is probably to make fun of Harry Potter, the songs are wuite funny. Although they dont have the best vocals, there still worth it to take a listen.

Harry and the Potters are hilarious! I love Save Ginny weasley from the Basilisk and their song about Cho Chang being the Human Hosepipe! That song is hilarious. I also love Draco and the Malfoys, Potions Yesterday and My Dad is Rich are just too funny. I like how each group makes funof the other, especially Draco and the Malfoys. They certainly aren't the best musicians, but it's just for fun! That's it. They're silly, and you have to admit that a couple of their songs are in fact fun to listen to.

I agree with you Jezebel, their music singing abilities don't rank up there with Artists like Green Day or Nickelback but they are funny to listen to. They way the 2 bands diss on each other just makes it too hilarious to listen too..

K, I love all rock music, but wizard rock is simply amazing.
Harry and the Potters are clearly the most known, but Darco and the Weasley's are out there too... and Ginny and the Weasleys (who aren't rock...) and The Mudblood Brothers, and the Whomping Willows, etc...
They're all pretty darn good in my opinion.
But I don't really like Ginny and the Weasleys.

Yeah, I really like indie music and when I heard this band I totally loved it!!! it is really good; I like "Save Ginny Wasley...", it is my favorite song .

This thread has kind of died down a bit but oh well I'll post anyway. I was listening to Harry and the Potters last night around two in the morning as I couldn't sleep, hadn't listened to them in a while and the song 'Stick it to Dolores' came on. My god I laughed so much at the line...

'Oh my god you look like a frog!' and they sing it over and over again. I just imagine when Harry said she was froglike and I don't know, it makes me laugh! I'd recommend listening to this song if your not in a great mood

i agree with hp_book_reader, while i love harry and the potters (especially voldemort can't stop the rock and stick it to dolores) i have to say i like draco and the malfoys better. they both have a lot of good lyrics, but i think draco and the malfoys are just a bit more creative. In which i kick harry potter in the face is the best! I went to the Harry and the Potters with Draco and the Malfoys concert in Denver - it was HILARIOUS!

From the songs I've heard from YouTube, they're pretty bad....and what's more their song lyrics (from the songs I've heard) are pretty stupid as well--for example, "Save Ginny Weasley from Dean Thomas"--yeah, b/c it wasn't like GINNY was the one using poor Dean to get noticed by Harry and then dumping him in an instant and kissing Harry the next moment in front of him--a more accurate title would be "Save Dean Thomas from Ginny Weasley!" Sorry, but that just bugs me....and the lyrics and tunes are pretty lame....so yeah, not a big fan of this very mediocre group....

Yeah I've heard of them. Not the best songs but good lyrics! I just found out about them today. My favorite songs are "The Foil" (Draco Malfoy) and Save Ginny Weasley from Dean Thomas!

OMG! I didn't know about a band that plays music from the HP books, omn I just hear them today, and I like them, the songs are funny, I just heard one song called Yule Ball, and it's fun 'cause he's saying that he rather fight a hungarian horntail that have a date, i like it xD
And I also heard another one called ron got a howler, I like the humor involved in these songs, they tell you the story but in a hilarious and relax good way, i'm going to look for more songs xD

I'm wondering if this band will disband after a couple of years of no more Harry Potter? If they are as good as many have claimed, then perhaps they should re-name their band and get a new gimmick. Food for thought.

I love Harry and the Potters! I must eternally thank them for starting the wizard rock movement that I love so much! I just recently went to a Harry and the Potters concert featuring Draco and the Malfoys. They both were incredible, and I even got my pictures taken with both Paul and Joe of The Potters!

However, as you can see by my signature, I maintain that Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls is still the best wizard rock you can find out there. He has the most professional voice and sound for wizard rock, because he is an actual musican, for a living! Please please please, go check him out at www.myspace.com/oliverboydandtheremembralls, it is soo worth it.

Also, if you like wizard rock, go check out The Weasel King and Ministry of Magic, they are awesome. Also, check out The Parselmouths, The Moaning Myrtles, The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, and other big wizard rock names! You will fall in love with them, just as I did!

There's some great Harry Potter dedication bands out there. I came across Tom Felton's youtube channel recently too which was really cool!

Harry and the Potters concerts are probbaly the most fun I've ever had at a concert. I've gone to their concerts in my town 3 times. It is true that they have no great musical talent, but they are so much better live. They are really great performers and everyone gets really into dancing around crazily and singing along, and Harry and the Potters have these special interactive songs, where you get the scream out stuff like "SPEW!" and "UGLY"

So, I would highly recommend a HATP (Harry and the Potters) concert to ANYONE. Even people who aren't that into Harry Potter have fun at their concerts. HATP also does a lot of good charity work, like the Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club, and Jingle Spells, at their shows this summer, they were registering people to vote.

Ha, Charlie, you make me laugh. I know I name all my bands on Guitar Hero after HP like 'The Looney Lovegoods' and 'Priori Incantaneum' (sp?). I've never actually seen them or heard their songs, but are they good? And they're in America?! Yes! Maybe they'll come near my home sometime, which I doubt, but oh well.
