This isn't men't to offend anyone, so keep them nice. Dose anyone hae any really good quotes made by members here on VTM? They can be funny, clever or whatever you like as long as there memorable!
I have one:
'I know nothing's too far-fetched in HP, but this is.' Triad of Darkness
That's all i can think of for now, i will post again if i think of any others!

Don't cry besause it's over, smile because it happened.
I really liked that. It's so true.

My friend David (felix_felicis_444) said something that never fails to make me laugh:
"Have a solemnous Lent."
I thought that was great.

~Gerry's Gurl~ |

Yay! Thanks, Alaina....And to all of you who celebrate, I wish you a solemnous Lent as well! I still insist that we get a trademark on that and make Lent greeting cards

lol...
The quote I am going to post comes straight from Alaina's "Friend Fic" fan fic. It is in the chapter where I find Madam Pince eavesdropping after our D.A. ("Down With Argee") meeting. I told Alaina that I was fearing some David/Pince shipping coming up. That was jokingly, of course, but her response got me slightly nervous

:
QUOTE
But honestly, I think I really should pair you with Madam Pince. I can hear her now: "To heck with Filch. Who needs that scruffy old madman when I've got my David?"
Ummm...excuse me while I go barf
Yes, it was a joke (I hope, at least!), but it had me laughing for the rest of the day! I still laugh from reading it

Oooh, quoting a Mod in a topic like this. Treading on thin ground don't you think? But luckily for you I'm nice and can see the funny side of it.
I'm not sure what the other Mods make of this topic though.....some members could find it offensive if they see their quotes in here so maybe you shouldn't name the person, just do the quote.

Oh i'm sorry Triad of Darkness!

If you want i'll take it down...Yes if anyone wants there quotes taken down just say because i can see how people could get upset. Only nice quotes perhaps...i'm really sorry though.

Apr 7 2006, 09:05 AM
Don't be. I'm semi glad you found what I said memorable enough to make a topic with. But I still think you should have their name, unless they protest and want it there. You can leave my name there. It might make people read everything else I write which can only be a good thing. (Like if they read my fic..........which I haven't updated in a while - working too much......)

Hehe, some of these are hysterical...Well, I'm going to quote David once more:
QUOTE
I still insist that we get a trademark on that and make Lent greeting cards
David, honestly, I began to laugh so hard when I read that...but it's a brilliant idea! Lent greeting cards! I'm going to tell my religion teacher that one...
And thanks for using my Pince quote!! I just meant it as a joke, no fears, mate. Notice that Jessica is in the story...

David lurves Jessica!

This quote is from Tigers Eye's signature:
"Albus Dumbledore R.I.P. (Resident in Poland)
He's not dead, he's just in Poland."
For some reason, that struck me as extremely hilarious...maybe because I know people who live in Poland, and they assure me that they've never seen Dumbledore there...

i will not make lightsaber sounds with my wand.
and i cant remember whp's avarter this was on but it was a parchment with...Dearest Harry, I hate you love voldie...it cracked me up..

I thought of some others. I like the ones on people's sigs. The ''137 Things I will Not Do At Hogwarts''. My favourite is ''I will not sing 'WE Are Of To See The Wizard' while going to the Headmaster's office. By the way you know all of the little piccies in my posts today they all come from BestSmilies.com.

As I said in my last post my fav is ''I will not sing' I'm off to see the wizard' while going to the headmaster's office. But I also like ''I will not make light sabre sounds with my wands.

I have seen alot of funny sigs and avatars, which makes me wonder where you find them. But in my old sig I had "Seamus Finnegan is not after 'me lucky charms'" And in my fan fic, sirius said to james "You can't be serious?!" to which James replied "No, you're Sirius." I crack myself up. My favorite though is the one with F&G giving the Maruder's map to Harry. "The map never lies"

I can't remember who said this but it sounded very funny to me since i've never heard that phrase before : "I don't want to toot my horn!" ! Isn't that hilarious? I can actually imagine someone tooting a horn...!

And another phrase that just popped in my mind : "Woody Allen: I don't want to achieve immortality by doing something great, I want to achieve immortality by not dying."
I thought this was so clever!

in the "Who would be your friend thread" the two last questions in the quiz ask:
1. 5 ways to avoid a death eater.
2. 5 ways to kill harry potter.
and, even though their are some very humeorus ones...mine included *preen*...i found this one to be the best...number 5 specifically, because of the randomness!
Harry: (*sob*)
1.Tell him he has to share a room with a dementor
2.Use legilemency on him
3.Jinx him
4.Kill of all his friends
5.Drown him in a cauldron
...i just lost it when i read that part...especially picturing it...thrashing around whislt this innocent little girl holds his head under...(coz it was an inoccent little girl who wrote the answer)
...mine were better...*shifty eyes*

QUOTE
...that at the present time he is firmly on the side of Dumbledore, to the point of sticking his neck out for the terminally stupid and ungrateful, and it gnaws at him that it might be better for his personal safety if he allied himself to no one.

i don't remember where i found it.
so this is what they call, another endless night,

This story was in the if I got my Hogwart letter thread....I laughed so hard had to bring it here for everyone to enjoy. QUOTE
Well, it's kind of funny but my friend's brother, his name's Harry and he just turned 11. So me and my friend, we re-arranged Hogwarts to spell Grathows, made Dumbledore's name Celaphus Euphrosyne and McGonagall's name Ophelia Nox. Then we wrote out the school letters and set them on his doorstep and when he opened the letter he fell completely for it. He was getting really angry and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was saying, "Where'm I gonna get my books...and where in the world do I get a WAND!!" he went on about how he didn't have an owl a cat or a toad and asked if he could bring his dog. Then he decided he didn't want to leave his friends and basically refused to go and his mum told him he was a wizard and he freaked out. So she had to tell him it was me and my friend

This comes from gaberdette. We were discussing an issue in The Daily Prophet about the government trying to regulate the way restaurants prepare their food. Specifically KFC and their recent decision to switch to soybean oil because a doctor claimed the company didn't notify the public it was frying its food in trans fat..
"I do not need a Nanny state telling me what to eat. If I want to consume some delicious greasy chicken, it is none of the governments business."
Nanny state!! I do believe the state in question is New York. Isn't that funny?

not if you are from New York.

But I do think he was referring more to the national government and its endless legislation purported to "protect" us as it erodes our basic freedoms. I have to admit I had a chuckle over that very vivid statement!
