Many people think that J>K>Rowling is very humble and polite .it is true . she said that she looks up to christopher paolini as a greater writer then herself this shows how considerate she is considering that christopher paolini is a 18 year old writer who has written only only two books
J.K.Rowling you are my all time idol
hi i hope you like this coloumn .did you know about how polite JK rowling is so polite

Hiya kissemma and welcome to the forums!!
Just a little note...there's no need to double post - if you need to add something, just click 'edit' on your first post, then you can add whatever you want to.

I've deleted your second post and added it onto the first for you.
I'm going to move this now into 'JK Rowling.com' discussion because the Discuss Columns forum is for discussions of the editorials on the main site only.
If you have any questions or aren't sure about things, a really good place to start is the 'Newbies Central' forum where you can find FAQ's, the rules, the intro thread etc. If you can't find the answers there, feel free to get in touch with any of the mods or prefects who'll be pleased to help you out.

Being a huge fan of Christopher's and his books I would not do well if his next book does not get finished. Considering the way that Eldest ended, I am having a hard enough time waiting for Inheritance to come out.
That is great to know that JKR also ejoys Eragon and Eldest. I also feel that Christopher is an amazing writer!

It is always good to see generous celebrities. It lets you know they are genuine..Not that there was ever a doubt in my mind as to Ms. Rowling's generous spirit.... I personally love Paolini's books..I devoured them as quickly and greedily as I have HP. I am starving for more from both of them!!! Hurry up you creative geniuses!!!

Though I love Christopher and his work with Inheritance, I still am very humbled by Jo's words...but I have to say that Jo is the better writer. I don't know if that is worded right, it is hard to explain. They are both excellent writers, but I just like Jo's style better, I suppose. The vast attention to detail, the emotion, etc. And while Chris is very similar, and his stories are simply fantastic (reminds me of Tolkien, actually), Jo is my favorite. They are both really good people and I look up to them, definetely. We are to exepct a lot more from Chistopher, mark my words. And Jo, too...

I disagree fanatically, all Paolini has done is taken the plot of star wars and set it in middle earth, by virtually plaguerising every Tolkein place name and race (Hadac desert in Middle Earth...Hardarc desert in Alagaesia, urgals are basically orcs and elves and dwarves, well he's just too lazy to even try and cover himself there. Yes he's a good writer and i enjoyed his books but they're just CLICHES.
J.K on the other hand is an utter Genius.

I don't mean to insult anyone, but I think what Christopher did is not plaigirism(sp?) . He just has an idea of that world, there were no dragon riders in LOTR. Each saga has its own place that none could override, Lord Of The Rings, Inheritance and Jo's Harry Potter.
I have always looked up to Jo as an idol, she's one of the most humble celebrities. She's humorous and everything, not to metion, polite.
My mother says, "That time is not far away when in any form if you are asked to write your mum's name, you will write JK Rowling." lol

I have never read any of Paolinis work, although my boyfriend has quite a few and tries to get me to read them, to have an opinion of his work but from what I can tell by reading this topic some people say he's great while others say hes ripped off someone elses work. No matter what book you read there will be things in them that are found in other books. JKR isn't as brilliant as every one thinks. Neither is Tolkien or Lewis or anyone else. Everyone has ripped off someone elses ideas to expand on their own. It's just the way it is.
One could argue that C.S Lewis and Tolkien ripped each others work off because they both set their books in a land that isn't real. But since they were around at the same time it would be stupid to say they copied each other. They were friends to my understanding so I don't think they hid their work from the other.
And it's just how things are now. A writer admires another writers work and uses some of their ideas to make their novel just as good. There is no such thing as a new idea any more, so of course things Authors write will have been seen before. It can't be helped. All we can do is enjoy, or dislike, the world and characters they have created (or expanded upon).
