well school sometimes gets a bit boring,i know all the stuf they're "teaching" ig you can call it that, high school is a piece of cake here, so i skip a few classes to catch up on my reading or i just go play pool, it's fun.

I used to ditch class lots of times. I got really bored really quick because it was really easy, and my grades were good enough at the time that I could take a break. When I skipped class they had what we called a "robo dean" call our house and it would tell our parents that we missed one or more classes that day. That was pretty easy to get around because I was the only one home when we got the call, and I would delete it, or in the off chance that they did get the message, I would tell them that we had a substitute teacher and that they messed up roll (happened quite frequently actually).



Let's see...I think I was about 10 or 11 when the first book came out, but I didn't read it until I was 14 or 15.

yeah, they classify everyone here either by their music, their clothes, or the amount of money that mommy and daddy have. I listen to a pretty wide variety of music myself, but I was pretty much always classified by the rock I listened to . I like a lot of heavy stuff, but I also like a lot of acoustic jams like Nirvana's acoustic stuff (foo fighters are really good acoustic too). Sometimes I'll wear clothes that look kinda preppy, and those big shades of mine are kinda preppy in a lot of people's minds, but at the same time I'll be blasting something real heavy like Slipknot or Mudvayne and people get confused. I've gotten into a couple of british bands as well, and I don't there is a sterotype here for that. Not big enough I guess.

You didn't specify Over here in the states, when someone says biker dude, they mean someone who rides on a big motorcycle with their woman on the back in all leather. When you mean a bunch of kids on bikes, we say BMXers or bike riders. That's why I was confused. I'm sure it's the same for Andy.

And the british music I listen to is The Arctic Monkeys (we've discussed that one), Oasis, Muse, I can't think of any one else off of the top of my head.

Well a lot of times if there isn't a stereotype that fits someone, people just go with the nerdiest thing they do. In this case you would probably be classified as a HP geek.

Truthfully I don't know anybody who just listens to the music you do, so I wouldn't know what stereotype you would fall under.

I do not like stereotypes, yet i auto matically use them . It like an automatic alarm it just happens. People always say there having a "blonde" moment, which is so stereotype it isso mean to us blondes. ppeople just automatically assume we brush our hair instead of study or clothes shopping instead of school! I am a blonde and i am the smartest persaon in my grade! I hate stereotypes but they are just a part of life!

well i think the blonde stereotype originally came from how guys (some guys ) find them more attractive, and so us brunette probably said well you're dumb... well not that simple, but along those lines.

ok, I live in a town where the latino population is bigger than any other ethnic group. I can tell you from experience that most Latino women do in fact have a big attitude. There are some who have such an attitude that it makes them stupid (this exists in every ethnicity), and there are the ones who just have an attitude. They probably have an attitude because they know they look so good

About the "blond moments" sterotype: I'm blonde, and I'm top of my class. But I do get those moments that I'm like" Oh man why did I do/ say that?", but everyone gets those.

I think everyone has those moments, ( me too ) but we were discussing why they were classified as "blonde moments" in particular. It's quite strange because by no means are all blondes dumb, so i've no clue..

I was born here(USA) but i am latin and speak in spanish and everything. But I ver much prefer talking in english with my friends becasue I just don't feel comfortable talking in spanish at all. Well Anyways I don't have an attitude at all at school. I don't dislike anyone and I don't start drama. I'm not loud like other latin girls nor am I crazy. I have my crazy moments but not stupid crazy.
Asians are bad drivers. That is a big stereotype from where i come from. I don't know if it is true but usually when my mom almost gets into accidents ( which she never has been in one) it is becsause of an asian. I'm not racist at all but my friends joke about it is because they have small eyes and can't see from the corner of their eyes. I don't think it is funny but my asian friends still laugh at the jokes.

well sophie unfortunately we live in a stereotyped world, where people stereotype other because of there color, where they're from, or what they look like; and do you want to know what i think of that... i think it's a load of poo, i find it so annoying that people don't accept you because a) you're not like them you're from a different country and c) they have more money than you... but like i said, that's how the world is, very sad indeed because we are all the same, we're humans that is so we should all be treated the same.

Well, I think that most stereotypes, though certainly not all, are based on a grain of truth, but they're all inherently wrong because you just cannot classify an entire group of people as sharing one characteristic. I mean, while some people may have a tendency to behave or look a certain way, that doesn't mean that every individual in that group will. For example, while I think that the stereotype about all Asians being smart and being good students is true to some extent, because most of the Asian parents I know put a lot of value on education and work ethic and can be pretty strict about their children's grades, not all Asians have this attitude. It's mainly a cultural attribute rather than a racial one, and even then, there are exceptions, you know?

well not exactly because one thing is stereotyping people by their color and where they are from but another is stereotyping people by looking how they act... so you can get a better picture let me put it this way, we'll name our characters bob and harold (in honor of zoe haha) bob is a mexican, lets put it like that, and harold is an american jock, stereotype, bob is a really nice guy but they think that since he's mexican, he's poor and he's not worth talking to (been there, it's really annoying) and harold is a mean,stupid git but people talk to him why? because he's a jock... hmmm i think that cleared up much but whatever, see i stereotype people as jerks by seeing how they treat others not by what they look like, so why give a chance to a jerk. At least that's how i see it.

Well if you already know he's a jerk and is horrid to people then fine...don't talk to him. I meant give people like Bob a chance... because what they look like, or how rich they are, or anything, doesn't matter. It's what they're like, and how nice they are that matters.
I generally stereotype people ( i know it's bad ) on how they dress/act in public, more than colour and race. Not that i stereotype people much anyway ( i try not to at least ) but when you see teenagers in hoodys, smoking and being loud you automatically think "ugh how common" not "ohh they're mexican" weird refernce i know

I hate how people judge other just by how they look. Or by how a city looks. I live near Detroit, and some parts of the city are beautiful, there are some parts that I wouldn't want to go to though. Detriot is lovely, but may think if they visit there they'll get shot. Its so dumb.
