What/Who is your favorite Christian band/group/song? Right now, my favorite is Jeremy Camp and Detour180. I also like bands like SonicFlood, MercyMe and Deliours?. Chritian bands are what I mostly listen to right now. You may think of Christian songs like the ones they sing in church services but they are more like rock bands. I recommend any Christian band.

So who else likes Christian music?

Quick question....is Christian similar to gothic?

Oh yeah Evanescence is cool. What exactly defines Christian music anyway? Evanescene's songs doesn't have anything about Christianity in it, as far as i can tell.

Christian music is music that involves God or something related to religion. "Gothic" music is not christian music, though Evanesence was a christian band until they declared they were a rock band.

If you like more of a rap/hip-hop type of music, Grits is a good group.

I can think of one Evanescence song which is very religious. It is called "Lies" and includes lyrics like "An open embrace upon a bleeding tree" etc. which obviously is a biblical reference.

Other than a few of Evanescence's songs, I cant thing of a christian band that I actually get into. They are just not highly valued in our society.

Well I'm not a Christian and I don't specifically listen to Christian music, besides a few songs, such as Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Takes the Wheel" or Kanye West's "Jesus Walks". I guess I may listen to what could be defined as 'Christian bands' but I just don't know that they actually are.

One of my religious friends likes the Newsboys. Have you ever head of them?

Now, I'm not too up to date on what new, or fairly new, Christian bands there are and what they're doing. But I do know of some of them and some songs that I absolutely love. Such as, I really like Reliant K, they are just fun to listen to, especially their song "Mood ring" I love that one. lol Oh, by the way Titania, yes, I have heard of the Newsboys, and their one of my favorite bands. Anyway, I don't listen to that much Christian music anymore as I don't have much, unfortunately, and I have access to my brother's music which I really like and is secular. As for my favorite bands, the list would have to go like this.

I like Delerious. I nearly went to see them, but I didn't have any money at the time. Their songs are good to worship too. Quite powerfull.
I hadn't heard of a lot of the bands already mentioned, but I will try them out!

Titania at camp we listened to Jesus Rocks.
I like Sonic Flood, Barlow Girl, Rock and Roll Worship Circus, Super Tones, and Insider(s/z) (I'm not sure if it's s or z).
I like Rebecca St. James' version of 'Hark the Herald Angels'.

I honestly have never really gotten in to Christian music, but I love Jars of Clay (what little of them I've heard), and I loooove The Elms. The Elms aren't necessarily a Christian band anymore, but I'd still put them in the category.

I really like Casting Crowns, they have some really awesome prasie songs. Avalon and Michael W. Smith are also some of my favorites too. Does anyone listen to K-love?

I'm not sure if Reliant K is a Christian band, but my friend told me they were... I really like them. And I can relate most of their songs to christianity as well. Well, usually.

i dont really like any christian bands that are out...i used to like tobymac and grits but not any more. but AFI is a good band

For AFI, I THink the singer is Catholic, but they arn't really PRACTICING...

I've never heard of a Christian band and now that i'm thinking about it, it is weird since i live in Greece and almost everyone here is Christian. We don't have this kind of bands... I will have to listen to some of the groups you mentioned just to see if they are good...

I was just wondering if anyone's been in Walt Disney Worldin Florida duting Night's of Joy. It's like this huge Christian concert thingy.

Relient K's music is definitely Christian, although they don't really define themselves as a Christian band. The members are all Christian, however. And look at some of their songs:

"When I Go Down"- that's my favorite one. DEFINITELY.

"Be My Escape"- it may sound like it's about a romantic relationship, and some of their music is, but this one's about God.

"For the Moments I Feel Faint"

"Those Words are Not Enough"

They're definitely my most favorite Christian band.

Yea my family is really big on Christian music, were all Christians but I really DONT like Christian music at all I just am sick of it really, nothing agianst Christianity because I am saved and I am one but them listening to it all the time gets on my nerves...

Christian bands, I like alot of the ones that have already been named and I don't feel like listing them all, I'm too lazy right now. This topic does remind me of something really funny that happened at band camp! However I need to start the story off right!

One time at band camp our teacher was trying to figure out our show. So one of the drummers, who's obsessed with christian screamo, suggested we do a christian screamo show. Let me tell you something if you ever want to annoy a stressed out band teacher suggest a christian screamo show!

Hey! I love Christian rock music! My favorites are Skillet, Relient k, Jars of Clay, Jump 5, Zoe girl, Barlow girl, and I know that she isn't exactly rock, but I absolutely love Carrie Underwood! Oh, yes, and I like Rbecca St. James too.

Yeah, I went through that phase too...in fact, I think that I'm getting over it, sorta. I don't like some of the music, like some of the really old songs and the like, but some of the new Christian rock bands are really great. What do you listen to?

I don't really like Christian music that much either, but there is one exception. Anberlin (see my avvie). I love their new CD! There's not a song on it that I don't like!

Oh and Skillet's new CD is pretty good too.

Relient K is alright. I don't like how they all dress like emos now, though. Why is it that almost every single band these days has emo members!!

Anberlin's new CD is quite amazing. It was a great follow up to their previous one.



I don't know, but it makes me angry. All the good bands have turned scene and emo and it's really annoying. But hey, at least they're still making semi-good music.

I love Switchfoot! They're my all time favourite, it just so happens that they are contempary inspirational. But their music and lyrics goes beyond skin deep and they really try to get a mesage out there and they're really unique.

Be Thou my vision from Jars of Clay is cool too, as well as Magnificent Obsession by Steven Curtis Chapman and Hillsong is awesome!

I really like Rebecca St. James, Petra, and The Girls believe. I love Christian rock also. I don't really like slow Christian songs. But I like the type of music where it makes me want to get up and dance and sing. I also like one called ummm... I think it was called "Seven Places". I know one of the guys who sings in that band cause he goes to my church. His name is Seth Gilbert. He's an hilarious guy. He taught our Bible class and we laughed our heads off cause of that guy. He's awesome. I see him at my church all the time. Goodness I wish I could have taped him so I can show you guys. But here's a pic of them. Seth is in the white. But anyway... Those are the bands that I like.

I have a lot of Christian bands that i like, but right now my fav is Superchic[k]. they're so good. I saw the live love tour, it was awesome!! My favorite song by them is Wishes. really great. I also love Switchfoot, Reliant K, tobymac, audio adrenaline, and I like Point of Grace's old stuff. I have this christian radio station that I listen to sometimes, they play a lot of good music.

Relient K is and always will be the best band EVER!

I love Relient K, and until just recently I realized they were a Christian band... I also like P.O.D., Staind and Creed, and usually, just like happened with Relient K, I only learned that they were Christian bands after listening to them for a long while.

Gee! Those guys can truly play, and their lyrics are unbelievably amazing! They do have meaning!

Hmm... I'm pretty sure they're a Christian band, so Naturally 7. Those guys are really impressive. All their music is them, no instruments! It's so -wow-.
