Maybe that son was good luck, because the next year, Maggie recieved her first Academy Award for the film," The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie." Tragedy hits the family when in 1975, Maggie divorces Robert, and happiness is restored when, later that year, she married the playwright, Beverly Cross(1931-1998). In 1990, Maggie recieved her DBE (equivalent of Knighthood) for accomplishments in theatre and film. In 2001, her son, Toby, married the acctress, Anna-Louise Plowman, and in 2002, she recieved her 6th Academy Award nomination for "Gosford Park."
