Beacon Hill
Where: Located in the Ivinghoe Hills, near Berkhamsted, England
Physical Qualities: 768 feet above sea level. The hill is a late Bronze Age to early Iron Age hill fort which has been settled since the 7-8th century BC.
Info: The "Portkey scene" in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was filmed on Beacon Hill. A resident of a nearby village witnessed the following: "From where I was standing I was able to see the characters of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. Weasley, George and Fred Weasley, and what I have come to believe to be Amos and Cedric Diggory. It looked like they were filming the scene where they are travelling to the portkey, as at the top of the hill stood one large boot which all the characters were walking towards and all looked rather exhausted after the sixth take."
Set Reports: Three set reports were written about the filming at Beacon Hill: 1, 2, 3.
