Hogwarts
Sunday, April 16th, 2006I don’t think Harry has any intention of returning to Hogwarts for his 7th year, however I think he will end up going back somehow, for some reason. Maybe he goes off an his own, but needs to return there to get advice? If it is Harry who has to find the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them, he is going to need some serious help.
I wonder how many of the students will be allowed to return next year by their parents? I still picture some kind of huge shown-down there, involving all of the students who turn up next year, The Order, and possibly ministry, Aurors, etc. against Voldy and his DE’s

First off, I think we’ll see Hogwarts again, which means they will convince Harry to come back for his last year. It’s significant that there are seven books to parallel Harry’s seven years at school. Hogwarts is to important for JKR to just scrap it. I know this is slightly off topic, but without affirming this, I think this thread would be an exercise in futility.
I think it’s an astute observation that McGonagall (assuming she does become the next headmistress) would want to surround herself with members of the Order. This said, Tonks (who JKR has said she likes a lot) would be an easy choice for transfiguration.
Even though Lupin would be a nice choice (especially if Tonks were the transfiguration teacher), I don’t think we’ll see him teaching DADA again (since there is that curse, and it would be more interesting to bring in a new character). I would like to submit two possibilities for the DADA teacher:
1) A former student. JKR did mention that a former student would teach at Hogwarts (though it seems more and more probable that someone like Neville will choose teaching as a career at the end of the novels, and JKR was referring to this).
2) An Auror and member of the Order. JKR mentioned that her favorite Auror is someone that we haven’t met yet, so this would be a very appropriate position for such a character.
I don’t think we can rule out Hagrid as head of house–his house is partially ruined, after all.
